If you have not had a beignet from Café Du Monde your life is not complete. I'm not kidding they are soooooooooooooooooooooo good. No they're not good, they're not great, they are amazing.
Food for the soul. (Did anyone catch that?) But as I said up there ⬆it gave me an idea. Have we been feeding ourselves the fruit of the spirit. Before I go any further I want to say that this is kind of an add on to yesterday's. Or maybe not. I've been relating to Galatians 5:22-23 a lot so..........

"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: live, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control". Galatians 5:22-23

But how do we eat it? How do we let nourish our souls if We don't know how to consume it in the first place?

That's what ticks me off sometimes. Everyone loved to tell us what to do but never how to do it. I'm sorry if I can't read your mind God didn't give me that ability.

But anyway, we eat it by being in God's word. But also by practicing it. I know that parts kinda weird because how to you eat donuts but practicing them? but it's more about making the donuts so you can eat them.

Or whatever food you want if you don't like donuts.

You can't consume the fruit of the spirit unless it's produced. And it isn't produced without the hold spirit. And the holy spirit grows and flourishes when we trust God and continue to be in his word.

To feed your soul good food you have to help the holy spirit make it by listening to God and he will provide.

So wake up with Joy and peace praising God for another day. Be patient and kind, when the cashier is really slow, and we have places to be. Make sure our friends see goodness and love in us. Be gentle to the new kids we see. Stay faithful in trusting God. And hold self-control in the palm of our hand.

The last one is a struggle for me. Its not that I doing have self-control. I have it. I can control myself. Its the fact that sometimes I don't want to. Sometimes all I wanna do is let lose and scream and be not amazing. But I've learned that we don't have to be this perfect Christians because were not perfect people anyone of the reasons Jesus died is on the cross is so we could come as our flawed self to Christ.

We don't have to be perfect anymore. We don't have to dot every I or cross every t. We can just be us. You can be yourself. Let lose. Act crazy. Not dig a hole in sin crazy but wear non-matching outfits if that's your thing.

I've now realized that to have self control is to say no to sin and yes to God. That's all there is to it.

Dear God

Thank you for another day to praise and honor you. I pray that we are in your word everyday. That we are spending time time with you. Lord I pray that we are a echo of you to everyone that sees us. Lord I pray for my sister and my grandma watch over them and protect them. Lord help us be a reflection of you everyday.

Help is feed our souls the good food of your word and of kindness and goodness, faithfulness, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, self control and best of all love.

Lord let us not stress In the fact that we do not have to be perfect beings. That we do not have to do this and that and this and that and this to gain your love.

Lord let us control our actions not perfect them.

In your perfect son's name, who died for all sins of the world. Amen
