Week 1: Zeke's date

I decide to wear a white t-shirt underneath a charcoal grey jumpsuit and pair it with black sandals. I put a headband on and call it a look. I hurry over to the guys' house for breakfast.

I walk in and head straight for the kitchen. Some of the guys whistle and wolf call when I walk in the kitchen and I duck my head down. One of them wraps their arm around me and says, "No flirting until the princess has eaten. I could her stomach growling soon as she walked in the house."

I playfully elbow Bennett in the ribs, and smile sweetly at him.

"Oooh, princess Addie is feisty this morning," Christian smirks.

"Why are you guys calling me princess?" I question and grab a blueberry muffin.

"We did a Bible study this morning on Psalm 45 where it talks about being royalty." Noah explains with a smile.

I smile and eat my muffin. Bennett shakes his head at me and fills a plate with fruit. He sets in front of me and I gesture to the plate for him to explain.

"A muffin isn't enough for breakfast. What do you want to drink?" He questions and I shake my head. I stand up and pour me a glass of milk. I am about to sit down when I think I hear a heated conversation in the living room. I set my glass down and tell the guys I'll be right back. I go toward where I thought I heard people and see Zeke and Aiden.

"You aren't good enough for her!" Aiden exclaims. "She's an idiot to choose you for the first date."

Zeke balls his hands into fists. "You don't deserve to be here. You are a self-centered jerk-." Zeke is cut off by Tucker and Reed separating the two.

I clinch my jaw and slowly make my way to Aiden. "Sit down," I say sternly and he looks shocked, but does as I say. I notice the other guys flow into the living room, and I turn to them. "I already told all of you once, and this is the last time I'm saying it. Be respectful to me and to each other. I don't care if you can't stand someone here; you better show them kindness and respect." I turn back to Aiden. "I'll be honest with you, I want to send you home right now because you have been disrespectful two times, but I'm not going to. Don't you dare think it's because I might have feelings for you; it is to show you grace and mercy like Jesus. I don't know you and you don't know me. This may be the only chance that someone gets to witness to you on how a Christian is supposed to be."

Jacob stands up, and I turn to him. "Can I say something?" I nod. "I think if you knew everything that went on in this house, you wouldn't be just be chewing out Aiden."

I cross my arms. "Jacob, I don't want to know what goes on in this house when I'm not around. I want to have my own judgment for each of you without any knowledge. I want to find out who you guys are on my own. I will say this; however, if any of you aren't being your real selves, it will back fire on you. I am open to conversations until Zeke is ready for our date later."

"Can I talk to you for a few minutes?" Ian questions and stands up. I nod, and I follow him out to the porch. "Would you like to sit down?" He asks and gestures to the rocking chairs. I nod and sit down; he does the same. "I wanted to be real with you. From what I've observed and talking with the guys that went on the group date, I take it that whoever you choose should be a Christian. I'm not a Christian."

I nod and rock slightly. "Thank you for being honest with me. Can I ask you something?" He nods. "How do you feel about me being a Christian? If I chose you, what would our relationship look like?"

"I think our values and perspectives would clash more so than if you had chosen a Christian."

"Tell me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you've already decided you're going home when elimination comes."

He nods. "You deserve someone that's a Christian."

"Okay."

Several more guys come and tell me that they are ready to go home. I brace myself for another guy to do the same thing when I hear the door open.

Zeke stands in front of me with a bouquet of white peonies, and I lose it. I start crying, and Zeke starts panicking. "I'm sorry. Do you hate peonies? I can get you different flowers. If it's about what happened with Aiden, I understand if you don't want to go on a date with me."

I wipe my tears away and hug him. "Please, tell me you still want to go on a date with me."

He hugs me back comfortingly. "Of course I do, Addie. Why wouldn't I?"

"Some of the other guys don't. They are ready to go home. They don't even want a chance to get to know me." I hold on to him tighter. "Why did they even come if they don't want a chance with me?"

"Maybe this is God's way of helping you know which ones aren't the one for you," he says gently and rubs my back.

I laugh slightly and pull away slightly. I wipe my tears away. "I got your shirt wet."

"Addie, it's just a shirt. Are you ready to go?"

I nod. He keeps an arm around me and guides us to a car.

"Where are we going?"

"Somewhere that you won't feel any stress or sadness, only fun," he grins.

We step out of the car and stand in front of the trampoline park. He grins at me, and leads me inside. After he pays for us and our shoes are off, he takes off running toward the trampolines and does a front flip onto the trampoline. He starts jumping and waves me over, and I walk over to him causally.

He stops bouncing. "Addie, let go and have fun." He states and falls back onto the trampoline. I run and jump on his trampoline. "Addie!" I quickly jump to a different trampoline and run away from him. I laugh as he chases after me.

We enter my house and I gasp when we go into my living room. "You built a fort?" I say excitedly. He nods, and I hug him. I climb into the fort he built and get settled. A few minutes later, he crawls into the fort with popcorn, bottles of water, and chocolate chip cookies. "What movie are we going to watch?"

"Well, I thought we could watch two movies; I choose one and you choose one. My choice is IT."

"Zeke, I hate scary movies," I pout.

"It's not real. I'll be here if you want to hold my hand."

"Fine, but afterwards we are watching Peter Rabbit."

This time he pouts. "Addie, that's a kid's movie."

"If you want me to watch your scary movie, then you have to watch my comedy family movie."

"Fine," he pouts. "I also invited a few of the guys to come over here and watch it with us to keep me accountable. Is that okay?" He says nervously.

I kiss him on the cheek. "Of course it is."

"The party has arrived!" Reece shouts.

"Hey, are you guys in the fort?" Christian questions.

"Is there room for us?" Dallas asks.

Zeke and I climb out. "No, but maybe we should stay out of the fort. Addie hates scary movies, and I convinced her to watch IT."

I watch Reece's face turn ghostly white. He laughs nervously and starts to back out. "You know what maybe I'll third wheel another time."

Christian stops him before he can leave. "You aren't backing out, Reece."

I swallow nervously. "Is it that bad?"

The guys glance at each other. "Um..."

The end credits for IT finally signals the ending of the movie. I'm clutching onto Zeke. Reece and Dallas are holding on to each other. Micah is staring wide eyed at the TV. Christian is hugging the life out of a pillow.

"I'm glad I chose Peter Rabbit," I mutter tomyself and quickly change the movie.
