The next day,

Shindou's POV:

I was walking to school by myself and was still thinking about what happened yesterday.

"What was that from yesterday?" I said in my thoughts.

Flashback:

"I will never let you break me down!" Tenma shouted and then an okamimimi like figure slightly appeared behind him.

"What was that?" I said in my thoughts as the traffic light turns green and I continued to walk. I arrived at the school and passed the gates. I continued walking to go to my classroom.

"There is no way he is-" I snapped out of my thoughts as someone tapped my shoulder. I looked behind to see who it was, it was Kirino. He has rose-pink wolf ears and tail.

"Hey Shindou," he said, "are you alright?"

"Oh, it's just you Kirino," I replied, "yeah I'm alright, just thinking about what happened yesterday."

The two of us continued walking and talked about what happened yesterday for a bit. When we arrived, Kirino and I sat down on the chairs and waited for class to start.

Tenma's POV:

I was running on my way to school when I met up with Aoi and Shinsuke near the gate, I waved at them, the three of us then went inside the school. Me, Aoi and Shinsuke went inside our classrooms, I immediately went to my desk and what shocked me was that there was some writing on it. It says,

"Worthless human!", "You don't belong here", "Mistake!", "Why do you even try?", "You will never fit in", etc.

It brought back bad memories that I never wanna remember. I just stared at it feeling a little sad about this. It feels familiar but I can't get used to it.

"What's wrong Tenma?" Shinsuke asked as she stood beside me with Aoi. I looked at them and saw their reaction, they were shocked.

"Its alright guys, I'll just wipe it off, don't worry," I said before they say anything. I reached into my bag and I realized that I left it at the manor, Aoi then handed me a piece of cloth.

"Here, use this instead," she said.

"Are you sure, Aoi?" I asked.

"Hai, it also removes writings easily, I used this to cleaned my desk every day so it's alright if you use it," she replied with a smile.

"Thanks, Aoi," I said as I smiled back at her, I then took the cloth she lent me. After I cleaned up my desk, I thanked her again as I gave back the cloth. She smiles back. We then took our seats as the teacher comes into the classroom and starts the lessons.

Riku's POV:

I was sitting in my seat and reading my textbook. I am a third-year and in the same class as Kura while Gin is a second year. Earlier we wrote on that worthless human's desk while he was not here. I was still furious that he passed and about what coach Kudou said.

"What does he mean by 'he might be the one' he is just a useless and weak human, " I said in my thoughts as I gripped my textbook, slightly crumpling the side of it. After class is over, Kura and I packed our stuff and went to the place where the three of us meet, it's the rooftop. When the two of us arrived, Gin was already there.

"Hey, took you guys long enough, " Gin said as he walked over to us.

"Yeah whatever, " I replied as the three of us went to a bench and sat down. We then brought out our lunch boxes and ate.

"Hey Riku, " Kura called out to me. I didn't make eye contact.

"Yeah?" I said as I took another bite of my bento.

"Do you think he saw what we wrote?" He asked.

"Of course he did, " I replied after I finished chewing my food.

"Man, I wish we could see his reaction, " Gin said and then took a sip off his water. The three of us finished our lunches and put them away.

"Why did coach Kudou let him pass?" Kura asked. While putting his hands behind his head. 

"I know right," I said after I drank some water.

"What do guys want to do?" Kura asked while putting his hands down.

"How about we teach that human a lesson," Gin suggested as he stood up from the bench. I smirked.

"Heh, how about we do it after he is done with soccer practice?" I replied.

"Yeah, I'm in!" Kura approved, I look at Gin who nodded in agreement. I chuckled slightly.

"Let's get going," I said as the three of us stood up and then left the rooftop.

Tenma POV:

After the class was over, I packed my things and went to Shinsuke who was still putting his textbook in his bag.

"Let's get ready Shinsuke," I said. He looks at me with a smile and nodded. Aoi then ran to us. I looked at her with a smile.

"Let's go," she said. The three of us then went out of the classroom and started running. I ran fast and accidentally bumped someone. I fell backward and rubbed the back of my head.

"I'm sorry for bumping into you," I said as the two of us stood back up. I looked at the person and recognize him, he was from the other day on the exam.

"It's alright," he said. My friends then ran to me.

"Tenma, are you alright?" Shinsuke asked.

"I'm alright Shinsuke, don't worry," I replied as I gave him a reassuring smile.

"You're a human, correct?" He asked, I looked back at him and nodded.

"I'm Matsukaze Tenma, nice to meet you!" I said while smiling at him. I then faced my friends and continued, "these are my friends, Sorano Aoi and Nishizono Shinsuke."

"Hi!" Shinsuke said with a smile.

"Hello!" Aoi said as she slightly waved.

"What is yours?" I asked as I faced him again.

"Tsurugi Kyousuke," he replied. I smiled in response.

"You're going to the soccer club right?" I asked with my usual smile.

"Yeah," he replied, "why you asked?"

"Me and my friends are about to go there too, so how about we all go at the same time," I responded.

"Sure, I guess," he responded. 

"Sorry for interrupting, but we should get going now," Aoi said, I nodded in response and we went to the clubroom.

When we arrived, no one was there, so I'm guessing we were early. I looked around the clubroom and felt so happy that we are here. We sat down on the chairs and waited for the others. No long, the others came and we greeted them. Its time for the introduction, so all the new members, including myself went to the front.

"Okay, introduce yourselves," Otonashi-sensei said.

"Alright!" I heard Midori-senpai said from behind me. I then suddenly got patted in the back.

"Go ahead Tenma, " she said as I faced her, 'tell 'me good!" She continued.

"Who are you?" Otonashi Sensei asked. Midori looks at her in confusion.

"Me?" she asked while pointing at herself.

"Are you interested in joining as a manager?" Otonashi-sensei asked.

"I don't do anything I find bothersome," Midori senpai said and then places her hand on her head.

"How do I explain this," she continues and then pats my head which got me confused, "I think I will be this guy's private cheer squad."

"Private cheer squad?" one of the senpais said.

"Oh, but you don't have to worry about any trouble from me," Midori senpai replied as she puts her hand off my head. She then pushes me forward and I faced the team.

"I'm Matsukaze Tenma, a first-year, I really like soccer, good to be here!" I said as I bowed and then straighten back up.

"Yeah, good to have you here too, " an okamimimi with brown hair, brown wolf ears, and a wolf tail.

"Hai!" I replied.

"Next," Shindou said.

"Hai!" Shinsuke replied, he then steps forward.

"I'm Nishizono Shinsuke, a first-year. I was a defender in elementary school. I'll do my best, so I hope we have a good year!" He added as he bowed and then step back.

"Next," Shindou said and he looked at Tsurugi.

"Tsurugi Kyousuke," he replied as he smirks.

"Next up are the managers," Otonashi-sensei said and Aoi slightly steps forward.

"Hai! I'm Sorano Aoi, nice to meet you," she said and then bowed, "I hope we have a good year." she then straightens back up.

"Yamane Akane, a second year," a girl behind Aoi said as she comes out and then takes a photo.

"Then for the record." Midori said as she steps forward, "Seto Midori, a second year. Good to be here," she added as she did a peace sign.

"Alright, it's our turn next," Shindou said. "The third years are the goalkeeper Sangoku-senpai, Minamisawa-senpai, Kuramada-senpai, and Amagi-senpai."

"Nice to meet you," Sangoku senpai said.

"Nice to meet you too!" me and the others said as we bowed.

"The rest are second years," Shindou said, "Kurama, Kirino, Hayami, Hamano, and I'm the captain Shindou."

"I am the soccer club's counselor, Otonashi Sensei,"  Otonashi-sensei said, "and this is coach Kudou," she added as she introduces him.

"Nice to meet you!" Me and the others said as we bowed.

"And now, here are your uniforms, " Otonashi-sensei said as she gave me, Shinsuke, and Tsurugi our uniforms. (I forgot to mention that there won't be a second-team here in the story)

"Meet us on the soccer field after you are done changing, " Shindou senpai said.

"Hai!" Me and the others said.

After we're done changing. We went to the soccer field and met up with the others.

Shindou's POV:

During practice, everything was going fine, but what makes me wonder is how Tenma can sometimes catch up to our speed and strength even if he is a human. I stopped thinking about it so that I can concentrate on practice.

Tenma's POV:

I was kinda having a hard time trying to catch up with the team but I did my best. But then I noticed Shindou was sometimes looking at me for a bit, but I just continued with soccer practice. I'm just happy that Shinsuke and I are here. After a few minutes, we took a break. We went to the bench and grabbed a towel and water. I talked to Aoi and Shinsuke, until I heard something, like a voice,

"Pro..te.ct.," is what I heard.

I looked around to find where it was coming from but I couldn't find the source. Someone then lightly tugged my shirt for a bit, I looked and it was Shinsuke.

"Are you alright, Tenma?" he asked, "what were you looking at?"

"Its nothing, just my imagination. Don't worry," I said while smiling to reassure them that I'm fine. After the break time was over, we continued soccer practice, which wasn't too long. After practice was over. We went back to the clubroom to change to back to our school uniforms. But when I opened my locker, there was a note in it. I decided to read it later after I'm done changing. After that, I read the note and it said,

'Meet me in the boy's bathroom after practice, we need to talk'

                                                                                                                          ~????????

I got a weird feeling about this but I was wondering who put this in my locker and what do they want to talk about.

"Tenma, is something wrong?" I heard someone behind me, I turned and it was Tsurugi

"It's nothing, don't worry," I replied with a smile, "I'm just gonna go to the bathroom for a bit, be right back," I added.

"OK," he responded.

I then went out of the clubroom and still had the same thoughts running in my head. It was a good thing it wasn't far. When I arrived, I opened the door and entered. What got me confused was that there was no one there.

"Hello, anyone here?" I called out but no one responds. I decided to leave because I thought it was a prank, but I felt like something is up. When I turned around, I saw Riku standing at the door with his friends by his side.

"H-hey Riku-" I said trying to calm down but Riku interrupted saying,

"Don't 'hey Riku' me human."

I was kinda afraid, I tried not to show it, but I knew it was kinda obvious now.

"W-what do you wanna talk about?" I slightly stuttered. I saw Riku's grin widen a little bit. He then starts to slowly walk towards me as I started stepping backward.

"Well. I have something to do,"  he replied. My back then hit the wall and Riku stopped in his tracks.

" What do yo-" I was about to ask when I felt a pain in my stomach. Riku punched me hard. I fell on my knees and clenched my stomach. I looked up at him and saw his friends walk beside him.

"Let's have some fun shall we?" Kura said. Those words send some shivers down my spine. They then started beating me up. I was now laying on the ground. Every time I try to move, my body starts to ache badly. But that didn't stop me from trying to get back up. But when I did try, Riku kicked me in the stomach very hard. My vision then began to blur, everything then began to go dark. Then my vision became dark.

After what felt like hours, I woke up and found myself lying on a bed. I then felt pain around my body, it didn't last long though. I then did a sitting position and looked at my surroundings, I was at the nurses' office. Suddenly, I heard the door open. I looked over and saw Shinsuke, Aoi, Shindou, and Tsurugi. They then went to me.

"Tenma, are you alright?" Aoi asked with a worried expression on her face.

"I'm alright don't worry, " I said while giving them a reassuring smile, "what happened?" I had to ask.

"Shindou-senpai and Tsurugi went to the bathroom and that's when they saw you on the ground beaten up. That's when the brought you to the nurses' office. They then told us about it and we decided to check on you, " Shinsuke replied with a worried look.

"I had to ask. What happened there?" Shindou asked while giving me what looks like a curious yet concerned look.

I didn't want them to worry about me too much so I replied, "I don't remember what happened."

"It's alright, we should go back home now, " Aoi said.

"Hai!" I replied and got out of bed.

We then left the school and waved goodbye at each other. My friends went back to our homes while I went to the manor. Aki-nee also asked me about what happened in school, I said that I couldn't remember so that she wouldn't worry about me too much. I then went to my room and did my homework.

"What a normal day of school, " I said in my thoughts.
