The next day, Sunday.

Third POV:

After what happened in Okinawa, the match was canceled and it ended up with a tie. After Tenma visited his mother's grave on Saturday, he was still very upset. Today, he stayed in his room, not coming out. This worried his friends and Aki-nee. She tried to talk to him, but he wouldn't respond.

~Meanwhile, in Tenma's room~

He was laying in his bed, feeling very sad about his mother's loss. She was like the only person that cared for him when he used to live in Okinawa.

Tenma's POV:

I felt really upset and I felt like it was my fault. I know Nemesis is looking for me since I think they know already. That's why they attacked Okinawa, they were searching. I clutched my pillow and I felt tears starting to form.

"If I didn't return Okinawa, it wouldn't have been attacked, " I said in my mind.

I then heard I knock on my room door. I can tell it was Aki-nee.

"Tenma, please come out?" She asked.

"No, " I said in a sad tone.

"I know how you feel, but if you want to talk, I'm here for you, " Aki-nee said.

I slightly smiled. But I was still feeling upset.

"I'll be cooking lunch now, " Aki-nee said and then left.

I stood up from my bed and went to my desk. I looked at the picture of me and my friends. I then clutched my fist.

"I won't let that happen anymore, " I said in my mind.

I grabbed my phone and called Riku.

"Hello, this is Riku, " he said.

"Hello, this is Tenma, are you busy today?" I asked

"No, I have nothing to do, " Riku said, "I also heard about what happened, I'm sorry for your loss."

"Thanks, " I replied, "can you meet me at the riverbank please."

"Why?" Riku asked.

"I want you to train me to fight more please, " I said.

"Alright, " Riku said.

"Thank you, Riku, " I replied.

"No problem buddy, " he said.

The call ended and I changed my clothes. I wore a blue t-shirt and gray-blue pants. I then left my room and wore my shoes.

"I'll be going to the riverbank Aki-nee, " I said.

"Alright, be careful Tenma, " Aki-nee said.

I then let the manor and ran my way to the riverbank. When I arrived, I saw Riku standing in the middle of the field. He turned around and saw me. I went down to the field and walked towards him. I saw him smirk.

"Ready for training?" He asked.

I smirked back and said, "hai!"

The coast was clear so I transformed and my wolf ears and tail appeared. Me and Riku went in position and we both went into a fighting stance.

Riku dashed towards me and was about to punch me. I sidestepped and dodge the attack. I grabbed his arm and was about to punch him when Riku grabbed the hand I was gonna use to punch. He then spun and threw me. I couldn't nail the landing so I fell on my back and I stood back up. I dashed towards Riku and punched but he dodged. I then tried to kick him but he grabbed my leg and he threw me up in the air. I landed on the ground on my feet this time. But when I looked in the direction where Riku was, he wasn't there. I quickly looked behind and saw Riku, he was about to kick me in the face but I immediately dodged. I then tried to punch him, but he backed up. I ran towards him and tried to punch him again, but he kept dodging and sometimes blocking. This was my chance now since I was punching he thinks I will keep this up, I used my right leg and quickly kicked him. He was sent to the left and he used his hand to push on the ground to send him up, he then landed on his feet. When he was not looking, I dashed towards him and got ready to punch from behind. When I was close, he turned and did a roundhouse kick. I went sent flying to the left and crashed on my right arm. I stood back up and my arm was hurting a little bit.

"Are you alright Tenma?" Riku asked.

"I'm alright, let's keep going, " I replied and I turned around.

"Alright," Riku said and then smirked.

Training continued for minutes and I was getting pummeled a lot. Riku was kinda going easy on me. After some minutes, we took a break on the bench and I transformed back to my original form. I took some breathes, when Riku handed me a bottle of water.

"Here, I brought two in my bag," he said.

"Arigato," I said and got the bottle. Riku sat down and drank some water. I drank some and leaned my back on the bench.

"Hey Tenma," Riku said, I looked at him in confusion, "just asking, you called me to train you right? I didn't expect you to call me after what happened, I thought you were recovering from it. But what was your reason you wanted to train this hard?"

I sat straight up and replied, "well, after I lost my mother, I know I couldn't just lay in bed and keep feeling upset."

I placed the water bottle on the bench and I stood up, I then looked up in the sky. I then said, "I don't want that to happen to others, I don't want to let others down. I want to be able to protect and save others. Even if it means I have to train from day to night, even if I get hurt a lot. I don't want people to feel the burden of losing someone cause I couldn't save them."

I then transformed to my okamimimi form, "I will do my best to take down Nemesis, that is my goal," I said and I faced Riku, "that's why I called you to train me more. I hope you understand."

I saw Riku smirked and he placed his water bottle on the bench, he then stood up.

"You really are something Tenma," Riku said. I was confused about what he meant.

"Shall we continue training?" Riku asked.

I smiled and replied "Hai!"

We continued training and I was kinda improving. Riku dashed towards me and he tried to kick me in the face, but I dodged it. He then tried to punch me, but I sidestepped and dodged it. I then grabbed his arm with my right arm and then elbowed him with the same arm. I then kicked him with my left leg. He fell to the ground, I went to him and helped him up. I then transformed back into my original form.

"Good job, you're getting there," Riku said. I smiled in response. Riku's stomach then grumbled, he kinda blushed embarrassingly.

"We haven't had lunch yet, you wanna come over to my place?" I asked.

"Is that alright with you?" Riku asked.

"Hai, I'm sure Aki-nee won't mind," I said with a smile.

"Alright then, let's go," Riku said and he slightly smiled.

We went to the manor and I introduced Riku to Aki-nee. The three of us had lunch and we talked about somethings. After that Riku thanked us for having him over and then he went home. I went back to my room and practiced using magic.
