8 // Paid Dues
In advance, I apologize for any (or all) 'dry' chapters, I'm trying to wiggle back into my writiing habits after writing essays all summer.
There were many problems amongst Tokyo. ones emerging, ones already there. Such as the city, for example, was not safe anymore. There weren't enough heros or police to control the outlaws, the prison was almost at maxium compacity and heros were slowly depleting as more ended up in hospitals. More accidents happened because of the criminals, and more people abuse their right to use their quirk in defense.
Because of this; Aizawa being in the hospital unable to move, Endeavor took action and called in some people. Heros, to be exact. He couldn't leave the city unattended, he needed to secure it.
Thus, the kids, especially Shoto, had their asses glued to the couch, there was only so much space, some sat on the floor, others stood up behind the couch. But all of them had their eyes glued to the tv. The news and the reporter, all the clips of the city and how much of a mess it was. Then, to Endeavor, just him, the seat next to him appeared empty. The others, however started laughing at him, because of his slicked back hair and strange tux. How much this probably sullied him and his reputation as the number 1 hero, he did not know. They started to make fun of Shoto, then his father spoke and he shushed them.
"..I promised to protect no matter what it takes. Which is why I, and the city have come to a conclusion, and we're locking down the city. No one is leaving, and no one is coming in until we get this under control, as for our citizens, do not let your fear..."
Shoto stopped listening after that, he had heard what he needed to hear, and was done listening. He stood up from the floor and started for the door. At the same time, Bakugo was walking past with his boot and on his crutches, and Shoto definitely saw him but somehow they still bumped into eachother because he didn't move. Bakugo's crutch flew out his hand and he fell after losing his balance.
He wanted to use his quirk so bad, blow the door down and discard of the stupid crutches, unfortunately for him he was on strict instructions not to do any of those. So he yelled and cursed as the ohers helped him back to his feet. To which he swatted them away and managed to get up on his own, and once again discarding his crutches and limping over to the door.
"Bakugo! You need--you know what, why do I try." --Everyone's who tried to help him.
Elsewhere, there was limping Bakugo following Shoto down the hall. There was a point where he had to stop because his leg hurt so much. Just around the corner as he peered from it, Shoto was knocking on someones door. One very specific, rhythmic, knock. Then a girl answered and they hugged, and Bakugo felt inclined to take a photo, and that's just what he did. He took multiple.
"Oh Aizawa's gonna love this! Isn't he, Icy hot?!" Shoto nearly pushed her out the way and started sprinting towards Bakugo. He started hopping away but of course, he caught up and tackled Bakugo, grabbed him by his leg and dragged him until he was close enough to put into a headlock.
"AGH--"
"Delete those pictures Katsuki!!" Except he couldn't speak and everything came out in a very strained yell, he started hitting and kicking.
"Shoto! Let him go, he turns blue!" So Shoto let go and Bakugo gasped and punched him. "You--fuckhead!" He coughed. Shoto stood up and went and grabbed his phone, it was locked so he squeezed it and his hand went up in flames as he stared at Bakugo and his phone then froze over.
"Dumbass, I have it saved in my Icloud! Now, your going to help me, or I'm--going straight to Aizawa, AND I'm going to tell Momo you were cheating on her!" He stood up, panting and leaning against the wall, the girl, who he assumed was Shoto's girlfriend, gasped and turned super red.
"Your cheating on me?!--"
"No! I don't have a girlfri--you ARE my girlf-- agh! Bakugo what the hell are you talking about?!" Except he just laughed and sighed and cracked his neck.
"Right, well not your girlfriend but--you know Momo likes you and you're leading her on!
"That is none of your business! Between us has nothing to do with you! Why do you care so much?!" Finally, he stopped taunting him and rubbed the back of his head, where his undercut was slowly growing back.
"I know where Y/n is," Shoto sighed and crossed his arms.
"I'm not helping you get killed again--"
"It's that burnt motherfucker, Toyua,"
Shoto froze, (no pun intended) he failed to see a bluff in his eyes, and he started having flashbacks. Terrible ones, just when he thought he was gone, and maybe it was over, he was back again. And that frightened him.
"I'm sorry, I can't help you this time." He sounded like his dad, so cold and deep. "You're the only one who can get in there! The place is underground, you don't understand! They're turning her into a fucking weapon! Once she has a quirk awakening they're gonna make her do whatever the fuck evil shit they plan to do and it'll be a blood bath like at the sports festival! There won't be Aizawa, me, or any other hero to surpress her quirk and she'll know we've been lying to her!!"
Bakugo was no longer careful with his words, he was panicking, even if he didn't admit it, there was genuine worry and fear in his voice. It was either you, or everyone against you.
Shoto furrowed his eyebrows, even his girlfriend made a questionable face. "Wait, what do you mean? Surpress her quirk? I thought they stopped that...they...wouldn't do that? U.A is about using your quirk to it's fullest to protect! Why is she different?"
"I don't know! It's some--voodoo shit! You know how everyone saw her when she first came here! Can't you just fucking--"
"Bakugo, why won't you just let the heros take care of it? I know how you feel about her, but why are you going to these lengths?"
But he could never admit it. The guilt he experienced day and night, it had to be him that brought her back.
"Fine. Don't help, I don't give a shit. But when your girlfriend is kidnapped and being made into a weapon, don't you dare come crying to me."
He started hopping and grunting past Shoto, to go back to his hotel room.
"We'll help you!" The girl yelled, Katsuki paused and looked over his shoulder. She walked up to Shoto, as if challenging his patience and narrowed her eyes, glowering darkly at him. "He is your friend, Shoto. So is this girl right? Friends are like family, and we help family, no matter what. And YOU taught me that. So yes! We help you."
Shoto sighed, he just got scolded by his inliterate girlfriend.
WITH Y/N - 5:22 PM
There was not a word to describe the headache Y/n felt, it was the most naseating, most painful, throbbing headache she had ever felt. She was not confined to a chair but heavily sedated, that only made it worse because she couldn't stand, she could barely open her eyes. As hard as she was trying, she saw a bunch of light, someone was lightly smacking her face.
"C'mon sweetheart, if you don't wake up we're gonna have to dunk your head again and I really don't want to." She had fully opened her eyes, although her vision still blurry and going white, and her headache still active.
"You gave her too much! She's probably on her last few brain cells!"
"I gave her the correct dosage that you provided me with, now stop questioning me!" Y/n squinted and saw the lines from the light, aside from that, her face hurt, a lot, but only one side, around her cheek and jaw. The slightest movements made her wince, not even a second later she was met with a hard, stinging slap. And that made her open her eyes, then her head fell, and along her body fell out of the chair. But it woke her up; that was the main thing.
"You--"
"Back up!" Y/n was picked up and sat back in the chair, she was on the verge of tears, her face stung so bad she couldn't even touch it.
"Hey sweetie, do you remember your name?" The female in front of her said very slowly.
"Fuck you."
"You picked a bright one, didn't you Dabs?" She said sarcastically. Y/n leaned forward in attempt to stand up but the woman pushed her back down. "Sorry, but if I let you stand I'm not catching you when you fall. Now, if you can stay awake, we can begin." She grabbed latex gloves and started to put them on. Y/n looked around the room, from what she could see through her blurry vision, she was in a room, perhaps a lab, but dark, and appeared dirty. Then there was Dabi, he stood at a distance, watching with his arms crossed.
"What? She just woke up! You're not going to--"
"Listen Dabi, if you want your five minutes to talk to her and sob, feel free to. But you gonna have to get out if you continue to question my practice, cause' I ain't dealin' with it."
"I'm not leaving."
"Then shut the hell up." She grabbed big black handcuffs, Dabi would have protested against them, but after seeing what happened if she didn't, was beyond frightening, especially for his love.
She strapped Y/n's feet to the chair, her hands to her thigh, and strapped her head back to the head of the chair by her throat, but not too tight to choke her.
When she realized this, she wiggled but she was in no position to even attempt to escape, she was weak and felt as if her life was fleeting. The woman made a few more preparations, running back and forth, then she placed a big object in front of Y/n, like something out of a cartoon, but it was very, very much real. And it was pointed right at her.
"Okay, here we go. It won't be that bad." She was making final preparations. Dabi walked over to Y/n because she was crying and loosened the rope around her neck.
"Dabs, remember the contract..stop interfering with my work!" She yelled through her teeth, but he ignored her.
"I don't like this either..." he muttered, wiping her tears, he finally stepped back, out of the way of the doctor and sat down on the table.
Y/n didn't know what this was, where she was or what was going on, but she knew she didn't want this to happen. She started crying even more but it was out of anger.
"Don't do this! Don't do this to me!" She cried out but her needs were unmet, instead, the machine started charging up, there was a light and a whirring noise that she did not like, the louder it got, and the brighter, the more aggressive she attempted to wiggle out of her restraints. The doctor sighed, "I should've bolted that chair to the floor." was the last sentence she heard before she quite literally went into the light, she was blinded, along side that an unbearable pain she felt in her bones, throughout her whole body that made her let out a bloodcurdling scream as if her whole body would explode. It was just heat, but of 1000 degrees, like she was being burned alive. There was a lot of unimaginable pain.
The door unexpectedly burst open, one of Dabi's people.
"Dabi! We have uh, uninvited guest."
