Several years ago at the age of 6, Bittersweet ran away from home during a rainstorm. He was scared and helpless because of what he saw, but was afraid to face him...

He hid far into Sourheart's alleys and hid within the dumpster bin, "I can't..." he jumped as he heard a rattling noise from the garage, might be raccoons. He thinks it doesn't matter, he won't last long in the streets...

A cat head popped out from the garage and came down to comfort him, "hey" it's a boy's voice

"You came for the treasures too?" He smiled at him

"It doesn't matter... I'll die by you anyway..." Bittersweet curled himself in sadness but the stranger walked closer to comfort him

"Hey, I know you won't say anything about what happened, but what happened, happened and there's nothing you can change that... if that ever happens to either one of us, we work hard to find a way to a better life for us monsters" he ate an apple as he smelled Bittersweet, "I guess you're lucky enough to be in a candy shop. I can smell you are used to making chocolate"

Bittersweet stunned to hear that from him but said, "yeah, I do... that's my family's job"

"I see, then if you know what you have, then you'll find a job, work your way up the ladder for your dreams to come true" he smiled as he grabbed his belongings "well I must be off" he went to a manhole and see some monsters from under it

"Hey, thanks" Bittersweet smiled

"Don't mention it kid" he hopped down to the sewer with the other monsters below

"What a nice guy" he went to build a wheelbarrow for his starting business

-present day-

Bittersweet stocked up new things for his customers, "I'm sure hope people like my chocolate animals"

"Are there live ones like the gorillas?" Frisk asked

"No. This is my family's original recipe. My mom and Gramps taught me how to make animal molds and create hollow ones with cream on it" he placed more as Frisk heads outside and wears a bomb costume to attract customers and saw a small cat statue with a red crystal in the center in the fountain water. They dig down and reached it, it looks like a costumed character from a long forgotten anime, but they store it within the costume for the entire shift.

"I do love the sweet fillings, I'll take the last of the birds" a small glop of goo handed the money to Bittersweet

"That's a small amount of money you have there" Bittersweet replied

"I left my wallet along with my body in the other realm" he answered, "I'll pay you back when I have the snails- I mean money"

"It's fine, Take your time. Probably next year I'll remind you to pay me back" Bittersweet laughed, "see you later! Oh hey Frisk"

"How is work?" Frisk asked

"It's fine, my Birds are sold out. And one of them pretty much owed me money" Bittersweet explained, "you did attract far into the fountain, is anything alright?"

"Well I found this in the fountain" Frisk holds a cat statue, "should I repair the fountain?"

"No, in fact there wasn't a cat figure in the fountain" he examined the statue and gasped, "he is familiar, like that cat who inspired me."

"Inspired you?" Frisk replied

"Inspired me to get up on my feet and make my own business" Bittersweet smiled, "I wish he would stick around and be my friend. Like It would've been McQueen and Mater kind of thing. Old guys and young boys being the father/son duo."

"What is he then?" Frisk said

"I guess he was a Yokai who identified himself as a monster. In short, he's more Monstronomus than a normal Yokai"

"I see, so he referred himself as He/they huh?" Frisk smiled, "I'm also non-binary"

"I can see that" Bittersweet laughed, "now get to it, we have like an hour before closing"

Frisk went back to the fountain but bumped into a few monsters by accident, "oh I'm sorry" the three of them tried to scare them but they aren't afraid of them

"Oh I remembered you, you're the guy who got those lips stolen in a Chip N Dale movie" Frisk pointed out to a purple monster with blue lips and bunny ears

"Very funny, wait to you see Jimmy Neutron without his hair" he laughed

"Sorry to bother you human, but we must search for Kusaya" the black and white candy cane lady with red lips replied to Frisk

"Umm, who's Kusaya?" Frisk asked

"Kusaya is one of the beings in our world who is a Yokai. We thought he was a monster, our traditional census report told us that there was Yokai in the university, and Kusaya is the only suspect. He believed he was a monster himself, but his love for our punisher's soprano singing and also eating fresher food provided to them otherwise. During his short-timed identity crisis, he was sealed away 6 years ago, making sure a monster or a human will never bring him back." A smelly midget with eyes he hold in his hands explained the story

"So you came to find him? Where is he?" Frisk asked for help

"Well... he was normally at the fountain, but he was missing" the rabbit answered

"Umm what's gonna happen to the statue?" Frisk asked

"If a Yokai pressed the gem crystal center, he will be unsealed" the candy cane girl replied

"I think I must've seen it in the shop, come on!" Frisk went to the store with the monsters behind her

"Oh you brought more customers in, wait a second..." He placed the statue down

"There it is" The purple one replied

"I know I recognized you from somewhere, you're Ickis, Krumm, and Oblina from "Ahh! Real Monsters". My brother and sister and I watched your show" Bittersweet gasped at the famous Nick show monsters

"Yeah, and we we're wondering about something" The purple rabbit monster Ickis asked the cat

"About that we don't have bad rotting chocolates right now? I know that it's our duty to please the customers, but wasting food is not one of my best things. I was thinking about fusing some garbage with my chocolate to make it more palatable for you guys, but I'm still working on the kinks..." Bittersweet explained

"Actually, we were talking about the statue you've found, we wanted it back" Ickis asked

"Oh this one? It looks a lot like my old acquaintance, so I'm about to ask, is this an actual ruby?" He tapped on the gem

"NOOOOOO" they yelled but he pressed it, the explosion came from the statue and the blast burst out a fishy smell, everyone was on the floor coughing

Bittersweet was groaning in pain from the explosion, "is this your treasured store, kid?" His voice sounds familiar to him and Bittersweet looked up at the Yokai. He is black and gray furred, like Darknyan or a black unlucky cat. He wore a coat and gloves, similar to what stereotypical Hobos wear, has a Pac-Man shirt, and 8-bit Pac-Man ghost pants. He had a pungent smell of fermented fish

"You look bigger the last time I've remembered a year ago, are you like 7 now?" He told him

"I'm about to be 14 soon..." Bittersweet answered

"14!? WHAT YEAR IS IT!!! HOW LONG HAVE THEY HOLD ME FOR!?" He gasped and yelled

"I don't know, I just found you!" Bittersweet panicked

"You we're sealed away for 6 years, Kusaya" Krumm answered

"Guys, why didn't you come and save me!" Kusaya whined, "I was staring to panic about me finding out that I'm a Yokai!"

"We we're under orders not to help you, we're happy to have you around, but it's not good news for a Yokai to be among our kind, they were also known to befriending humans. That's what our teacher told us about them... and Yokaisonas" Oblina stared at Bittersweet

"You got it all wrong, I'm not a Yokaisona. Sure I'm friendly towards humans, but it's all about business. Being nice towards them is the way to win people over, if that isn't true for the different people, then I might try their level on trying my best to convince them to hang out at my shop" Bittersweet informed them

"You do seemed to be cool around humans, that's what we're wondering" Krumm corrected him

"So am I still, 13?" Kusaya wondered

"You are. You were frozen in time" the monsters groaned

"Well... I guess I have no place to go... but here" Kusaya frowned

"Aww don't worry, at least you're not them right now after Jimmy's Dad entered the smash rip off. You can stay at my house, Frisk has family, school, and monster ambassador stuff they need to work on" Bittersweet smiled

"Hold on, the Monster Ambassador is a human?" Ickis was shocked to hear

"I did free the Underground Monsters, so there's that" Frisk answered

"It is an honor to meet you, sorry we scared you earlier" Oblina bowed to her

"It's alright, most of my monster friends once tried to kill me" Frisk laughed

"Did you fight them off and kill at least one of them?" Krumm asked

"Well, no I haven't even kill them, but I did convince them not to kill me" Frisk answered

"Kusaya, thank you..." Bittersweet thanked him

"For what?" Kusaya asked

"For helping me stand up again... if it weren't for you... I would've... die along with the nightmares that haunt me..." Bittersweet fought himself without shedding a tear

"What nightmares?" Kusaya asked again

"Don't tell Frisk and everyone... it's about..." he whispered

"I gotcha. Is Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures still on?" Kusaya smiled

"It ended after three seasons" Bittersweet answered

"No! I only watched season one!" Kusaya cried out

"I know, it's that bad..." Bittersweet sadly told him

"Do you have a TV?" The smelly cat asked the chocolate smelling cat

"Yeah, why?" Bittersweet asked to him

"I wanna watch the other seasons with you!" He begged him, "I want to know what happened to Pac-Man!"

"Sure, think of it as thanks for bringing me back on my feet" Bittersweet hugged Kusaya, "okay, the first thing is a shower, I want you to be less smelly"

"Okay, if I am gonna live with you, I might follow your tidy little rules" Kusaya laughed as he head upstairs to the apartment

"Excuse me, are you Bittersweet Choconyan?" A tall man with armor came into the shop

"Yes, and sorry. We're about to close" Bittersweet answered softly

"I believe you've met Jack Spicer at the shop before, care to recognize me?" He asked

"You're the hot guy from Xiaolin Showdown season 2! Chase Young! I admire your work and acting!" said Bittersweet

"Thanks, but I'm not here for your famous chocolates. I'm here discuss about the troublesome enemy near your shop. I see that you have a reputation for making weapons out of chocolate, it's "despicable" as others say" Chase explained

"It's odd for you to say despicable, you normally say "evil" a lot in the show" Bittersweet informed him

"It's annoying for me to say that in front of the fan girls I've come across. Anyways, this white cat has been taking photos of you in your apartment. You know him from anywhere?" He showed the photo of Cheshirenyan and Bittersweet was stunned to see HIM in front of his eyes, "Is HE, spying on me!?" Bittersweet gasped

"I'm afraid so, if he plans to eliminate you, let us help you. Your shop is one of the most important places any of us ever had. Your weapons are impressive and you treat us like real people, villains or not." Chase discussed the reason why Bittersweet and his shop is very important

"I definitely won that contest about a new building at a young age. Now I'm a target for something much larger, probably something that he is working with" Bittersweet smiled but stared at the phone

"Who is he?" Frisk asked him

"That there is the nightmare I kept dreaming when I have bad days. His name is Cheshirenyan, an abuser, a monster, and he was also... my father"

Now Bittersweet is well aware that he was targeted by his nightmare, who is working with the king!

Now that Kusaya is free, he needed more help he can get to be safe from kidnappers and tormentors.
