I suddenly realized that my bow was gone. I guess it only appeared when it was needed. Then I heard Jake gasp. I looked over to see him fall down.

"Oh no!" I pushed Apollo out of the way and ran to him. The arrow had pierced his side. Blood was pooling around him and his face was scratched up. I realized that he had gotten even worse because he had fought even when he was hurt. I was so scared and worried and mad that I started to cry.

"Um, don't cry. He'll be fine, I can help him, I think," Apollo patted my back, but he looked uncomfortable, as if he had never seen anyone cry before.

"So, who's ready to- whoa!" Artemis walked in. As soon as she saw Jake, she ran over to him and placed her hand on his forehead. "What happened? Spill." She looked really mad and her glare made me stop crying.

"Jake wanted to go home, but I didn't and then we started fighting and I accidently shot him because there were a bunch of empousai and then we fought them off, but Jake was hurt and then he just collapsed," I said all that in one breath.

"WHAT!?" Artemis and Apollo both yelled in unison. I burst into tears again.

"I'll deal with you later. Apollo, help me with Jake. Zoe, stay here while I take Jake into another room. And if you come near him, I swear to Zeus that you will be sorry you were born!" Then she lifted Jake carefully and stormed out of the room. I turned to Apollo, but he didn't even look at me as he followed his sister out.

"Is he ok?" I whispered. Artemis had finally cooled down enough to let me see Jake.

"I don't know." I was surprised at how sharp Artemis's voice sounded. "Hold my hand. I'm taking you to Olympus."

"But what about Jake?"

"Apollo's staying here to take care of him." she held out her hand. I grabbed it and immediately I found myself inside a large stone room with pillars that showed the outside and a open dome ceiling. My jaw dropped. Olympus was beautiful. The grass was a deep green color, there were birds and fountains everywhere, and the sun looked amazing. It was so breathtaking that I nearly forgot about Jake and all her troubles. Suddenly, a voice thundered,

"Who is this?" I turned around and nearly fainted. Standing before her was- Zeus! He had a large beard and when he smiled his eyes sparkled. But then Artemis went up to him and whispered something into his ear. Immediately his smile vanished. "SHE WHAT?!"

"She shot her friend in the shoulder." Artemis repeated, this time loud enough for me to hear. "I brought her here so you could punish her yourself. Zoe, go up to Zeus, now." Trembling, I came forward.

"What are you going to do to me?" I asked, not really wanting to know the answer. Zeus thought for a moment. Then he said,

"I know the perfect thing! Artemis, this girl shall be my slave for, lets see. 56 years." My heart stopped. WHAT? That was ridiculous! But I guess Artemis wasn't as mad as she looked, because she said

"Father, that's a bit unreasonable. She is a mortal, after all. Try to think of something else." I sighed in relief. But Zeus noticed.

"I wouldn't be so happy if I were you. Daughter, how about we take away her powers until she learns how to use them?"

"Seems good enough for a punishment. And its logical. Ok." The moon goddess shrugged.

"WHAT! You can't do that!" I had just learned that I had powers, and now they were going to steal them?!

"I am a goddess, Zoe. I can do whatever I want," Artemis's voice was cold. Then, she reached over and passed her arm over my forehead, and a silver glow went into her hands. Immediately, I crumpled to the ground, but Zeus said an incantation and I stood again, feeling better.

"It was an accident! Why don't you believe me? I don't even remember being in control of myself! It was like there was a voice in my head, telling me what to do!" And then I ran out in tears, not even caring that I didn't know anything about Olympus and had nowhere to go. Artemis called after me, but I didn't look back. Finally, I collapsed on a rock in the middle of a forest.

"Are you okay?" I looked up to see Artemis sitting on a tree branch above me.

"HAVE YOU BEEN FOLLOWING ME THIS WHOLE TIME?!!!!!!"

"Um, maybe?"

"WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE!!!!?" I shouted, my anger finally flaring up.

"Zoe, listen -" Artemis started.

"NO, YOU LISTEN! I NEVER ASKED FOR ANY OF THIS! DO YOU THINK I WANTED TO HURT JAKE?! I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I HAVE POWERS, GOT THEM TAKEN AWAY, SHOT MY ONLY FRIEND WHO WILL NOW HATE ME, AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW I'M GOING TO GO BACK HOME!!!!" I threw a rock into a nearby puddle. It made a big splash and scared away a nearby frog.

"Zoe, I know this is hard for you, but you have to learn to accept life. Things happen, and you can't change that. Ok, maybe you could if you were immortal, but that's not the point." Artemis's voice was gentle and it calmed me down.

"But why me? Why not someone else?"

"You were chosen for a reason. What that reason is I don't know, but one thing I do know is that your heart is pure. While you may make mistakes and fail, you will succeed in the end, and don't let anything stop you from achieving your goals."

"You really think so?"

"I know so. Now dry those tears and let's get back before Apollo starts to worry. Oh, and Zoe - I'm sorry this happened, but you have to learn to let it go. The past is in the past. Come on." She offered me her hand. I wiped my eyes and before I knew it, we were back in the old house.

"THANK GOODNESS!!!!" Apollo's voice nearly shattered my ears. His face was a mess. It looked so ugly that when I looked at him I nearly got eye cancer. "HE'S ON FIRE!"

"Apollo, I know you are obsessed with fire, you being the sun god and all, but I'm sure he's not, unless you "accidentally" set him on fire." Artemis looked suspiciously at her brother. "My dimwit brother has previously set a boy on fire while trying to heal his broken arm." she added, seeing my questioning look.

"Ok, first of all, I'm NOT a dimwit. Secondly, I told you that it was an accident. And finally, it was not me this time. Jake is really ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So stop acting so bossy and HELP ME!"

Artemis rolled her eyes. " For Olympus sake Apollo, no! You ARE A DIMWIT AND U DO NOT DESERVE TO GET HELP WHATSOEVER!!! GO ASK HELP FROM BARNEY!!!!!" she said sarcastically.

Apollo's eyes widened. "Barney? The Lord of Evil and Destruction?! No please! Anyone but him!" He took out a photo out of his toga and showed us a picture of a purple monster shooting fire from his eyes.

Artemis blinked. " Oooooook. Then go get help from Zeus!" She bent down and whispered to me, "I did not expect him to take me seriously." 

 Apollo whined again,    

"But he can burn an Olympian with one shake of his hand!!!!" He showed us another picture of a burning person.

" See? He can kill me!!!" Apollo cried, " I don't wanna die!!"

Artemis and I rolled our eyes. I told him. " Have you ever noticed that you're, you know, IMMORTAL?!?!"

Apollo tilted his head in confusion. " I am?"

I made a face palm, I never knew a God could be so dumb! Artemis was clearly having the same thoughts because she hissed in annoyance," Plus, you're the sun god. You can't burn, you control the sun. EVER NOTICED!?!?"

Apollo was very dumbfounded. He looked at his hands. " Really? OMG ARE YOU SAYING I'M THE SUN GOD?!?!" He smiled real big and started to dance around Artemis. " I'M THE SUN GOD!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!!!" He gave his sister a sloppy kiss on the cheek and started to jump up and down. " I'M THE SUN GOD!!! YAAAAAAY!!!!"

Artemis wiped off the kiss in disgust. I looked up at her.

"Are you sure you're related?"

"No. Now come on, let's go see Jake." Artemis ran off into a room. I wanted to see if Jake was ok too, so I followed her.
