Chapter 4.5: The Black Library Part 2
---
His sea green eyes involuntarily shifted to the silhouette of the child assassin. The little boys' footsteps were silent, undoubtedly beaten into him until it became second nature to him. Kenza furrowed his eyebrows and narrowed his eyes as he followed the small figure smoothly and gracefully entering the Long Room, skimming through the bookshelves, flipping books after books until the child found what piqued his interest then move deeper into the room, taking a seat at a more secluded corner and inspected the book in hand.
Kenza pursed his lips. The child reminded him of his own person. Not the same. Never the same. But similar.
---
Akira felt eyes watching him. Making him sweat. He knew that Librarians always kept watch on their visitors. But what makes him nervous was not as much as being watched, he was used to it already, being a frequent visitor and all, but what makes him all skittish was who is watching him.
Kenza.
The Head Librarian.
Akira inwardly sighed. Just his luck that the Head Librarian patrols the Long Room today. The other's presence always creep him out. Used to it, but still creepy. There was always a calculating glint directed towards him from the Head Librarian. How did he even noticed that...he did not know, probably Rapscallion's fault. His senses were that sharp now.
Akira did his best to ignore the attention that he was receiving and concentrate on his new reading material. It was in Italian. Should have known that he ended up learning various languages too. For reading sake. Never mind the fact that the underground society is flooded with foreign criminals from various backgrounds and countries. It's under America by the way. Long way from his home country Japan. Not that the missions he had been dragged into were limited to that country. Akira sighed as he stirred his mind away from depressing thoughts, taking in the ambience of the library to crept through his being, seeking solace and tranquility to compose his chaotic mind. 'La creazione dell'universo Fiamme e Trinisette' Akira read the title in his mind.
'Huh. Interesting. I have read a lot of scientific books and others that explain the creation of the universe. It was always nice to learn all the theory articulated about the subject. Though...this was the first he encountered anything with it to do with flames. And what is this Trinisette?' Akira pondered. His mind working in overdrive.
It took a couple weeks, but his read on the book led him to do more research which clued him to a book entitled, The History of the Mafia and other similarly related books, all of which mostly written in Italian. From what he gathered from his research and readings, it was theorized, according to a Historian named Abella Theodore Nello that had claimed to have served an Earthling known as Sepira, recorded her findings about the creation of the universe from the Earthling. A species known to have inhabited Earth after its creation before the humans came into being.
'Well that's new...the other scientific history book I've read before mentioned that humans were revolutionary beings that evolve from apes. But to think that in this history, there was another intelligent species before humans...there's no mention about homo sapiens and apes either,' Akira mused before he continued to brain his findings.
It was said that before the creation itself, there were seven singularities. Then the universe exploded into existence when these forces collide with one another. The consequent reaction of the collision resulted in the remnants of these systems forged into concentrated ingots, 7 mystical stones that makes up the foundation of the world. These stones guide the growth and development of life on earth while maintaining the balance of its life force. The Earthlings that came into existence later from this natural guidance found out many years later through unexplained phenomenal bizarre occurrences that these stones began to falter and the world began to crumble from its existence. With the power the Earthlings discovered, a wave of energy that presided within their beings, they managed a solution, a method in which to use their energy manifested as Dying Will Flames to sustain the mystical stones, hence sustaining the world. The method proved successful and thus the stones were turned into Arcobaleno Pacifiers, to be sustained by the Seven Strongest, the strongest bearers of each Flame types that synchronizes with the Flames properties of each Pacifiers. These Flames were known as the seven flames of the sky which are Orange Sky Flames, Red Storm Flames, Blue Rain Flames, Green Lightning Flames, Purple Cloud Flames, Yellow Sun Flames, and Indigo Mist Flames. This method continues for many years where the pacifiers were passed down to the next Seven Strongest where the previous died out.
Akira paused to delve in personal thoughts.
'Flames of the Sky...if this history is true, I wonder if I have these waves of energy within me too. Can I manifest them into Dying Will Flames? If it's true, I wonder what type of flame I possesses,' Akira noted to research further about these special Flames before continuing his findings. He read the report he wrote on his research.
However, due to the natural flow of guidance caused by the stones or then known as Pacifiers, came the unfortunate premonition of the Earthling's species dying out while humans that came into being flourished with ignorance of the world's origins. Desperate times called for desperate measures. There were not many Earthlings left to use their energy to sustain the Arcobaleno Pacifiers, and some are not compatible for they had to be the Strongest of each Flame type.
In Sepira's time, there were very few left which includes an Earthling known as Kawahira, who proposed to use the humans Seven Strongest next to sustain the Pacifiers. Sepira was greatly sadden by this but she knew no alternatives to the problem hence reluctantly agreed and searched for the Seven Strongest Human at the time. Much to their horror and regret, the transition failed for the humans were not strong enough to bear the Pacifiers resulting in their immediate death. They were stumped and frightened for the future. A friend of theirs, a human inventor known as Talbot came up with a possible solution after Sepira confided in him.
Akira took note to research more about this person called Talbot.
And so, Kawahira and Sepira witnessed the last Strongest Seven Earthling wielders of the Arcobaleno Pacifier summoned every last Dying Will Flames from their beings to synchronized with the Pacifiers with their Will and Intent, ultimately sacrificing themselves to further split the powers of the Pacifier and make up the now known Tri-ni-sette consisted of 7 Mare Rings, 7 Vongola Rings and of course, the Arcobaleno Pacifiers. The process of division also resulted in a subset of rings with properties of the Flames of Earth which Sepira and Kawahira agreed to subside the matter up for further examination later since at first inspection, the sets of rings does not directly affect the sustenance of the world like the 3 main sets of Tri-ni-sette. Itwas only several years later that they found there exist other special Ringsthat came into existence as a by-product of the division process conducted toform the Tri-ni-sette. With this new method, the powers of the Stones were further split to make it possible for Humans to sustain them.
Akira took note to research more on the Flames of the Earth.
Afterwards, Kawahira and Sepira found their next batch of human's Strongest Seven for the Arcobaleno Pacifiers, Mare Rings and Vongola Rings. Upon which they were further enlighten of changes that occurred due to the formation of the Tri-ni-sette.
'Man, what an endless string of problems...they sure had it rough. Why was it their responsibility to ensure the world is not destroyed anyway?' Akira casually thought.
When they attempted the transition, the keyword being "attempt", they were shocked to discover that while no casualties incurred this time, the Tri-ni-sette have rejected the "candidates". The Tri-ni-set would hum in power in the synchronization attempt and the candidates would howl in pain due to the rejection in which upon release from their possession, the pain ceased, and the Tri-ni-sette lay dormant. Kawahira and Sepira had looked into the matter with trepidation and once again sought counsel with their inventor friend, Talbot. Time was of the essence, so they moved quickly in resorting the case since humans seemed to still unable to wield the Tri-ni-sette.
'Well, that's suck,' Akira surmised.
They wondered if they needed to further split up the Stone's powers but Talbot quickly shot that thought down, since at that time, the Tri-ni-sette have no synchronized wielders to use their Dying Will to do so. Talbot placated them to be patient since they did not know anything about the newly formed Tri-ni-sette and any reckless abandon might result in the destruction of the world.
Akira's face contorted in a constipated expression for a brief second.
After much trial, with finding different noteworthy people as "candidates" and accumulating failure of transition, analysis and deductions, they have discovered that the Tri-ni-sette are "picky". While the Arcobaleno Pacifiers requirements remain the same of which the wielders must be the Strongest Seven, the Tri-ni-sette seemed to judge by itself just "who" are these Seven Strongest.
The same applied to the Mare Rings and Vongola Rings that continued to reject candidates, thus concluding that the Tri-ni-sette choose their own wielders and future successors. However, Kawahira and Sepira did not seem to encounter any problems in possessing the Tri-ni-sette, them being Earthlings. It was finalized that the Tri-ni-sette only reacted as such towards Humans. While the Tri-ni-sette were, dormant and sealed within Humans hands, but in event of attempted synchronization to wield and sustain them, the humans were deemed "unworthy" and rejected, inflicting pain.
Akira winced.
Talbot had reasoned that the Tri-ni-sette then can showcase a will of its own most likely a consequence of the Will and Intent infused within them by the last Seven Strongest Earthlings. The problem persists however as they needed Humans now to sustain the Tri-ni-sette. Kawahira took the Arcobaleno Pacifiers and decided to find the chosen Seven to impart the Pacifiers to them. Even afterwards, to continue monitor the activities of the Tri-ni-sette, retrieve the Pacifiers for the next chosen Seven for as long as he lives, entrusting the Rings to Sepira to safe keep them until she found the chosen successors to inherit them. In the distant future, Kawahira proclaimed himself as the Tri-ni-sette advisor.
Akira rolled his eyes.
It had been important to prioritize the Arcobaleno Pacifiers as it affects the world the most, as it make up the structure of the time stream, that represent and establishes the two distinct points in time. The Mare Rings, as depicted by its name represents the horizontal axis of the time stream of parallel realities implicating it's all encompassing influence on the time line, while the Vongola Rings, as depicted by its name, serves as the vertical axis of the time stream allowing the wielders the power to harness the knowledge and abilities of previous holders from futures, past and present (HI, Time Travel).
'So what does this mean? There are parallel worlds? And what does it mean to harness the knowledge and abilities of previous holders from futures, past and present. What, they can freely travel to the past, present and future or something similar?' Akira mused.
Sepira kept the Mare Rings while the Vongola Rings were given to be inherited by a trusted human friend Giotto, to which the Sky Vongola Ring had approved him as its successor and wielder, much to the relief of Sepira since Giotto was not known to be a Strong Sky but later proved to be the Strongest in the future. Giotto was a part of a vigilant group at the time to which later became a Mafia Family named after the Vongola Rings. Sepira had Giotto sworn to protect the Rings and the secret of its importance.
After which Sepira had seen how Strong of a Sky Giotto became, she had finally realized then and there that the Trin-ni-sette chose its successors not just how they are the strongest, but how they have the potential to be the strongest in the future.
Akira nodded to himself in understanding.
Kawahira showed up one day upon the doorstep ofSepira's newly founded Mafia family's manor, the Giglio Nero with astoundingand worrying news. Kawahira had succeeded in imparting the Arcobaleno Pacifiersto its newly approved wielders butthere was a surprising side effects upon the Humans in its successfultransition. They had been 'cursed' to live their lives in the form of infants.
'Bummer,' Akira deadpanned.
