Chapter 8: JAMES!

I stared at what was once the city of New York. All that was left was ruins. I wanted nothing more than to head home, to not deal with crazy people trying to take over a destroyed world, but then again what home did I have left to go to. James stood next to me in his white shirt and blue jeans. An axe found itself in his chest and he fell backwards.

"JAMES!" Trent and I screamed as he slowly bled out.

"Good to see you again... Hunter Moon."

"Trent go tend to his wounds!" I yelled at him as he stood there looking like a fool. I turned to face the person who did this.

In her left hand was another axe, most likely meant to go into either mine or Trent's chest at any moment. She wore a, somehow, clean pink dress, she had a bracelet on her right hand that came with a matching ring. Her hair was so blonde you would think she bleached it and eyes so dark they looked black. I've never seen this woman before in my life, so how did she know my name. I looked at her more and a name came to my head.

"Alice Poe."

"Good job Hunter. You have come a long way."

"How do you know my name?" I asked as my hand moved to my duel disk. I had a feeling that this was not going to end well for one of us.

"Oh did little James not tell you. I mean I guess it is expected. You don't even know your own friend's real name!" She laughed. What was she talking about. His name was James Cantu, or at least I thought it was.

"What in the world are you talking about? His name is James Cantu, a high schooler." I told her. My anger was growing by the second. Alice opened her mouth to say something, but before she could a gun shot rung through the air.

"Oh looks like I took to long. Good luck... commander Red." She mumbled the last part, but I still heard it. Commander Red?

I had no time to think about it. Alice disappeared and a woman came running wearing a white shirt and jeans. Her red hair flowed behind her as her sky blue eyes shined with fear.
