Chapter 3: No Place Like Home

We had agreed that if anyone would know anything about what was going on then it would be our parents. So even though I hated going home I went anyway. You see my dad was a little of a control freak. Oh who am I kidding, he was basically trying to make me another one of him.

He had been ever sense my mom left. I think it was his way of having something know that Mom went. I was pretty young, but I remember it pretty well. Mom had been just gotten over a cold and was in her way home from work. Let's just say that a drunk driver was out.

I sighed, again (man I sigh a lot), not looking up.

"Um... dude you may want to see this." James said. I groaned and looked up. My eyes widened.

Oh my god oh my god. I thought over and over again. James's house was fine only a window or two missing. My house on the other hand was gone, just gone, all that was left was burnt wood. My knees buckled causing me to fall. Dust was kicked up as tears ran down my face.

I may not have liked living there, but it was still my house and my dad was still my dad. I didn't even get to say goodbye and I'm sorry. I had yelled at him on the last day I was normal. I told him to stop telling me what to do and that he needs to move on.

"I'm sorry!" I screamed into death ears. I just screamed as tears streamed down my face.

"Hunter it's ok." James hugged me as I just kept screaming.

Eventually the tears came to a stop and so did the screaming. I had a hard time breathing for a few seconds, but eventually I could breathe.

"W-who are you?"
