Ch 30 Epilogue: The Chaos Dragon King

Lucy POV

I awoke to the sound of banging and the smell of burning wood. My eyes shot open and I looked around the room then at the giant hole in the wall where my seemingly "innocent" daughter sat on the other side of. I glared at her and she nervously chuckled. "S-sorry mom."

I quickly got up from my bed and called Juvia and Gray over. Once again the pay had to rush over for the third time this week to put out the fire she started, and it's Monday! Gray froze over Nashi's hands with his demon slayer ice. It wouldn't hold forever, but it would work for now. Juvia practically flooded the house to put out the fire, but quickly sucked it back up.

I smiled at them thanking them for coming over and they were very polite about it. "It's nothing Lucy-San, your daughter has grown to be much like her father. She's strong and will make a great mage in the guild someday."

Gray nodded agreeing with her "Nashi is just a little unstable right now. She is the daughter of a Dragon God After all." Gray chuckled and Juvia and I did as well. We all kept joking that if Natsu could burn down a whole city in an hour, imagine what Nashi could do to this house. It was funny thinking about the endless possibilities of her powers and the messes we would have to clean up after, but anytime I looked at her she reminded me of him.

She wore girl versions of his mage clothes and a white scarf that he left behind in this package with a letter in it. She has his Pink hair but my brown eyes and pale skin, she also has his signature grin which she banned her from doing when she was looking. She just couldn't see it without bursting into tears. Her canine's are just as sharp as his were.

Lucy sighed and thanked the couple again, but out of the corner of her eye she saw Nashi tip toeing over to the door. In a flash she grabbed her whip and lashed it at Nashi. It didn't hurt her but instead coiled around her tightly. She yanked the whip and Nashi came flying to her side tied up on her knees. Her daughter gave her a look of amazement as well as fear. She glared down at her "I'll deal with you in a second."

I looked back at Gray and Juvia who stared at me wide eyed. I nervously laughed it off, rubbing the back of my head. "It's not a crime if it's your kid!" I shouted defensively. Gray put his hands up like I was arresting him, I rolled my eyes.

"Well it was nice seeing you again Lucy-San. See you soon!"

I nodded and locked the door behind them, now turning my attention to the tied up 13 year old in the middle of my room. I walked over and leaned down to her level "your lucky I learned restoration magic before you were born." I walked over and touched the wall and it slowly began to build itself back up till there was no longer a hole.

"I told you not to use your magic indoors. Your not like other Fire Mages Nashi. You are different from them in more ways then one." Nashi looked away from me with a sorrowful expression. She had heard all about her dad, but never actually got to see him. Sometimes he would use illusion magic to make a copy of himself that he could talk through from the other side, but it never lasted long. In fact it ended quickly and Nashi has never seen her father in person. She knows what happened and it hurts to see her so empty like this.

I sighed and looked out the window at the beautiful summer day. The birds were chirping, it was sunny, not a cloud in the pale blue sky, it was warm but a cool breeze blew through to make it just perfect. I smiled to myself having an idea.

"Nashi, go get dressed. We're taking a walk outside for a bit." Her daughter managed a small smile and gave her a nod as she exited the bedroom. She watched as she exited the room and closed the door behind her. Accidentally melting the doorknob a little from her overheating palms.

She turned around and grabbed her usual outfit for the day and got dressed. "I think ill leave my hair down." She said looking in the mirror at herself. She grabbed her keys noticing something strange on the ring. There was all her normal keys, but one white one. 'How have I never noticed this before!?' She took the key in her hand moving the others away. It had a dragon head shape for the part you grip which narrowed down into the actual key part of it. It had a golden topaz for the dragon's eye that stood out against the white body of it.

"Mom?" I whipped around and saw Nashi standing at the door, dressed and ready to go. "Is everything okay?" I smiled at her, hiding the key behind my back and trying to clasp it back onto the ring. "Head down stairs and get Happy up okay?" She nodded and ran with her arms out behind her down the hall. I honestly couldn't understand where she got that from, but oh well.

I turned my attention back to the key and quickly clasped it back onto the ring under a silver one in a attempt to hide it. I grabbed my whip off the bed and went downstairs to find Happy and a very excited Nashi, waiting for me.

I unlocked the door and was met with a cool breeze as well as the outside warmth. It felt so nice, it also reminded me of all the times I would cuddle into Natsu's chest and it was always so nice and warm. I felt my heart sink in my chest so I did my best to forget about it.

We walked in the town for a little while. Buying things here and there. Nashi got this white dress that reminded me of the pink haired woman's one I used to see a lot. We stopped for lunch in a restaurant near by. I let Nashi and Happy choose since I wasn't that hungry.

"Let's eat here!" I heard happy exclaim excitedly, Nashi ran after him following him inside. When we got inside though, a waitress looked at me and sat us down at one booth. They gave Nashi a nice juicy steak and Happy got some fish while I stared out the window at the sky.

"Mom" I snapped out of my daze and looked at Nashi. "Yes?" Nashi discreetly pointed at a waitress watching us with wide eyes. I stared at her for a minute now realizing where we were. That waitress has served me before. Back when I took Natsu and Wendy here. I'm sitting in the exact same booth as before. It was the first time Natsu was in public and it was certainly a weird day. We had a moment of non verbal communication when our eyes met then we both looked away.

Nashi looked at me and her confused. "Mom is everything okay?" I softly smiled at her and nodded "everything's fine, she's an old friend." She didn't seem completely convinced, but went back to eating anyway which made me relax.

I payed and left soon after that. Thanking them for their services and bidding them a good day. I took on glance back at the one waitress and shot her a warning look then left.

"Mom can we go see the cherry blossoms? I haven't seen them yet this whole summer." "Aye! Neither have I! I heard they're beautiful this year." I knew what they were talking about. It was at a park not far from here. "Sure we can go see them, but first I need to stop somewhere okay?" They both groaned and I rolled my eyes, but they really didn't have a choice.

I walked into a nearby shop, it was darker then the others and didn't have much traffic, but I knew where i was going. I made my way past a few racks of magical items and over to the counter. I made sure Nashi and Happy were occupied before greeting the old lady at the counter and grabbing my keys off my belt.

I looked at the white key that was slightly hidden from view thanks to the silver in front of it. I unclamped the silver key to get to the white one then placed the silver back on gently. I placed the white key don on the table and looked up at the lady.

"This appeared on my belt, I'm not sure how long it's been there but I just noticed it today." I said in a hushed tone. The lady picked up the key, examining it with her ruby red eyes for a few minutes before turning her attention back to me. "

"It's a Draconian Celestial key, Key Of The Dragon God. Made of a Heaven Star. This is the only one in existence." My blood ran cold 'dragon god?!' "May I ask where you acquired this miss?" She said handing the key back to me.

I took it and quickly hid it back under the silver key on my key ring. "I don't know. I woke up today and noticed it on my ring." I clasped the ring shut and looped it back on my belt. She looked at me with squinted eyes before shaking her head.

"No my dear, someone gave that to you." I was confused but before I could ask she continued. "I think you are in for a surprise my dear." She said with a small smile. "Will you be watching the cherry blossoms glow tonight?" I nodded looking over my shoulder checking on Nashi and Happy who both were chasing each other down the isles.

"Yes I was planning on it. Nashi wanted to watch them and so does Happy. I'm outvoted." I said with a giggle. The blossoms would glow many colors tonight and I haven't seen them in a while. Plus those two got it from Storm, Gray's son. Which got them all sorts of excited.

"You will find your answer there. I do suggest you go tonight. You won't regret it." I nodded my head trying my best not to question her.

"Thank you Porlyusica." She nodded "now out of my shop!" I quickly grabbed Nashi and ran out the door bidding her a farewell as I left.

I looked down at Nashi who was looking up at me confused. Happy flew out the door squealing as a book followed after him. I giggled, she was never a happy person for long. "Happy can I trust you to watch Nashi if I go home and get our things for tonight?" Happy nodded "Aye!" I smiled and handed him a small pouch with jewel inside. "Here take this and you guys go get ice cream and go to the guild after okay?" I said sternly. Last time I did this I found them all the way on the other side of town. That was with the WHOLE guilds help!

Happy shivered and took the pouch "a-aye L-Lushi." He flew down and grabbed Nashi. "Let's Go!" He said and began to soar higher. My blood boiled "HAPPY!" He immediately dropped further to the ground so they were only three feet off it. "A-aye!" He said nervously.

I snickered to myself as I walked away to my home.

Timeskip brought to you by the good stuff that's about to start

It was dark out now. Many people were in the fields for the viewing. We brought a blanket and set it down on a hill near the back. It was never crowded back there but in my opinion it has the best view. Nashi and Happy were chasing each other around followed by Gray and Juvia's son, Storm joining in. Gray and Juvia took a seat next to me. I greeted them and they gave me hugs.

"Lucy-San is everything okay?" Juvia asked

I chuckled "yeah I wasn't planning on going but thanks to your son they found out. I was immediately outvoted."

Gray laughed "Yeah sorry about that. He thinks he has to share everything with Nashi because they're best friends."

I laughed "well yeah she's the same way with Storm and Happy." I looked over at the three who were now playing hide and seek. Happy hid behind a tree. Nashi hid behind a rock and Storm looked for them both.

People began to count down. More and more joining in the further they got.

At the final second the area lit up tremendously brighter then it was. Some petals  fell off the rainbow lit trees making the scene just more breathtaking. My heart felt broken for some reason. I looked around and so many people were with there families. Gray gave Juvia a kiss and hugged Storm close Nashi and Happy sat near me. I looked at them sadly as I saw all the happy families around us. 'Ours is broken...' "I'll be back, I just need to take a quick walk." They looked at me confused but didn't stop me.

I walked into the woods behind the scene. Following one of the several trails into it. I've been down almost all of these trails except this one. The moon shown through the trees. It was beautiful the way it created patterns on the ground. The cool air rustled the leaves a little making the patterns change.

At the end of the trail was a lake. It was crystal clear and pretty shallow. The moon reflected off the center of it perfectly highlighting its rippling waters. I stood at the very edge almost mesmerized by its beauty.

Ding

Ding

A chiming sound echoed around the area. I looked around extremely confused. Looking down as it chimed again. "The white key?" I looked at the little key taking it off the ring. "Weird?" I held it in my palm, staring at it for a moment.

The key jiggled a little then began to float out of my hand. I watched wide eyed as it floated away. "What the!?" It floated over the lake facing the key part down towards the moonlit waters. It made its way to the center, halting itself over the center of the lake with the moon shinning directly down on it making it glow brighter.

"What do you want?"

'It's a Draconian Celestial key, Key Of The Dragon God.'

"You want to be summoned?" It pulsed brighter for a second.

"O-okay," i thought for a second taking a deep breath. "Open, gate of the dragon god!" The key plummeted into the water sticking half of itself in as it made the all to familiar chiming sound. I didn't get to finish as the white light grew so bright a backed up and fell over since I couldn't see.

"What's going on!?" I screamed in confusion.

The light then immediately disappeared. I stood up and dusted myself off looking back towards the center of the lake. There stood the silhouette of a person. I think it's a person.

Bat like wings shot out behind him and I now saw two swayback horns on his head. 'Nope definitely not a person!' I backed away a little, debating whether or not to turn and run for it.

"Lucy?" I froze. It knew my name!? I looked closer at it. It was too dark to see anything clearly from this far away. "Luce?" My heart skipped at least 5 beats. 'Did it just call me Luce?!' It began to walk closer and closer across the water all the way to the shore standing on the very edge of it, only 10 feet away. I peered closer seeing that it had spiked hair. I felt tears prick at the sides of my eyes 'that is salmon pink in color.' It opened its eyes and that was it. Because they're the gold I know all too well.

I launched myself forward. I felt his strong arms wrap around me and tensing up a little. I wailed out. Tears pouring down my face. I was practically screaming. "14 years!" I screamed. "14 years that you were gone! I was all alone! How?!" A felt hand cup my face and he pulled my head up to look at him. The moonlight now highlighted his handsome features, his golden eyes glowing even more.

"I'm sorry, I'm back now though Luce." He pulled me into a tight hug as I cried into his chest, still lined with the same silver scales. "You can't ever leave again, Natsu!" He snickered, "I won't, it's okay now." I looked up and saw tears dripping down his cheeks and he rested his head on top of mine.

"Mom?"

I froze again. Natsu seemed to have noticed it as well he stiffened up. I pulled away from the hug but kept my hands on him, looking back at the woods. There stood Nashi her eyes wide Happy was hovering behind her with Gray who looked like he'd seen a ghost and Juvia who was teary eyed. Storm looked amazed.

Natsu let out a small gasp. "Is that?" He looked down at me and I nodded. "Yeah thats Nashi." He turned his attention back to his daughter studying her closely. She has tears in her eyes as well. "D-dad?"

She broke away from the group and ran towards us as fast as she could. Slamming full force into Natsu making him grunt. "DAD!" She cried out. It made me want to start crying again, I did. He cuddled her close tears dripping down his own cheeks. "My daughter, my little girl." He said quietly. I silently sobbed at the sight which made me so happy.

"How?" That was the next question. He stood up and looked at me with a sad smile. "God's have the ability to create and destroy as they please. So over these 14 years I've evolved the world so my magic could be handled." He Held out a small Ruby red gem necklace. The gem had a black dragon twisting around it. "It suppresses powerful magic. So I can finally come home. This time though I won't leave." I started wailing again and hugged him tightly Nashi hugged him in the other side.

I heard him chuckle then sigh as he hugged us both close. "It's gonna be okay Luce, it'll all be okay." I pulled my face away from his chest, looking up at him with glossy eyes. He smiled and  leaned down, kissing me softly. I melted into it quickly. Slapping my hand over Nashi's eyes. He pulled away and I gave him a small smile. He gave me his signature grin which made my heart melt.

I looked behind him. In the trees on the other side of the small lake there were dragons. Several of them looking out at us smiling. All of them had a similar ruby necklace around their necks. 'Smart, now they are able to return without consequences.'

I playfully booped his nose which made him blush. "Luce!" He whined. I giggled up at him as he pouted. "I'm not cooking for the next 14 years now!" I yelled. His eyes widened "no please no!" I smirked "nope this is what you get!" "Please no!" He pleaded bowing down on his knees to me. I laughed and pulled his head up, his chin in my hand. "You may be the Dragon King, but we both know who's the real ruler here."

His face went from pleading to playful in a split second. He chuckled darkly. "We shall debate that later tonight Mrs. Heartfilia." He said practically purring. I shot his look right back at him copying his tone perfectly. "I guess we shall see Mr. Dragneel."

"Eww gross mom, dad. TMI!" We both looked over at Nashi who was shaking her head and started to laugh uncontrollably. Nashi tackled both of us and we all rolled around on the grass laughing. 'My family's back together again. It took a while, but it's okay now. Because he is back, and he's not going anywhere.'

This marks an important event in history. The return of The Chaos Dragon King.
