Rules And Information For Judges!
Hello lovelies! I'm honoured to see you have an interest in becoming a judge, and helping me make this a great contest for everyone! Before signing up however you'll need to read through this section and make sure you can comply with ALL rules. Please do NOT skip through this section, because it does lead to a lot of issues and confusion later on.
Let's get started!!
Rule 1: Reviews: For this contest you will need to write a well written review for the winning stories chosen by you for your genre! These reviews cannot be too short, and cannot contain basic detached sentences such as: "I like the characters they are relatable," or, "Your writing is really cool." I need you to tell me, the author, and the other participants WHY you feel these things! What made the writing so great? Why have they won? Why did you like the characters, the plot, the setting? You have to make your review personal.
Rule 2: Amount Of Entries: Your genre will have a total of 25 entries at most, bot all categories fill up though. You may begin reading these works as they are added to your genre, or you can wait for the official judging date to begin. You will have a full month to read all entries, or you can start before judging officially begins. This would give you more time to read the entries and write your reviews!
Rule 3: Amount Of Chapters To Read: Each genre will have 25 entries at the most, and you will need to read 5 chapters of each entry.
Rule 4: Respond To Weekly Check-ins!: Each week I send out a message to all judge after the judging period is officially underway. Each week, I will send each judge who hasn't yet turned in their results a message. This message is mainly designed to make sure you still want to judge in the contest, and to check on your progress. I have many judges who become radio silent and don't respond to me, leaving me scrambling to find a replacement. So please respond to these weekly chick-ins! If I don't hear back to you within two weeks of sending the message, your position will be assigned to someone else.
Rule 5: Be Sure You Can Judge!: Please, please, PLEASE make sure you are able to judge until the very end. If you don't think you can handle it please think carefully. Judging does require a lot of time, and it is a big responsibility.
Rule 6: Attention To Detail: I have had many judges sign up in the past who haven't fully read through these rules. I know rules aren't fun, but they are important and they are needed. To make sure you have fully read through these rules please put the password: Part Of The Chaos Crew as a reply to your original form post. Post your form as normal, then reply to your form in the comments with the password, do not put the password on your original form.
Rule 7: Deadline: As previously stated you will have a full month to judge all entries within your assigned category, however you can begin judging sooner. If you require more time for some reason, you have to let me know in advance before the deadline arrives. Entries close on June 15th, results are due July 15th.
Rule 8: Acceptance Of LGBT: For every contest I've done, and every contest I will continue to do, LGBT content has always and forever will be allowed. If you wish to sign up as a judge you will most likely encounter LGBT content in your assigned stories. Please make sure you are able to judge stories containing LGBT content fairly as you would with any other story.
Rule 9: No bribing: Do I really need to say this? If anyone at any point attempts to bribe you in any way, please let me know.
Rule 10: Mature Content: Mature content is also allowed!
Rule 11: Shoutouts: One prize that I've had in nearly all of my contests are shoutouts from myself, and the judge of the winner's genre. You need to give a shoutout to the winners you choose. This can be done on your message board, or in one of your works.
Rule 12: Enjoy!: The boring rules are done! Now we get to the fun part, judging! If you love checking out new stories then you'll most likely enjoy judging! Please read below for some information to keep in mind while judging, then head to the form section! I look forward to working with you!
