Taking Third Place we have!:
But, None Of That Matters by: thebookmechanic
Review:
Plot: The plot is pretty common, a bullied boy... the death of a loved one, the kind girl who helps him... I'd suggest planning every chapter in advance before beginning to write. Just like I think there should be a better personification of the characters. It might sound odd but finding songs that represent the characters is a great way to make them more realistic.
Setting: Poorly described. Try to work with pi tires at first and do some research. Personally, I love it when descriptions engage every sense - taste, smell, sounds ecc. 3/10
Conflict: Given the story plot it is simple, but effective. 5/10
Grammar/Detail/Diction: The writing is sloppy at times and has a few grammar mistakes. Cursive words might have the desired effect, but there should be a better understanding of which words should be highlighted. 4/10
Character development: Could go a bit more smoothly. 6/10
Creativity: Not very creative. 4/10
Congratulations lovely! <3
Coming in at Second Place we have!!:
Thanks, Tim by: NodaOrtiz
Review:
Plot: Though the plot isn't that uncommon, the story is light and often comical, making it an easy read. 5/10
Setting: There's hardly a description about the surroundings. Again, I'm a sucker for that for i think it can really show the author's style. I recommend to work on it, maybe to use photos as references or by describing your own scenery. 3/10.
Grammar/Detail/Diction: I like the use of slang, considering the writing style. Though I'd avoid highlighting so many words. It kind of breaks the flow. 4/10
Conflict: Feeble. I recommend visualising it better. It has to leave the reader hooked, it must be well thought on every angle. 3/10
Character development: Slow and realistic. It does go head to head with the story. 6/10
Creativity: I highly appreciate the time the author spend searching songs and poetries to incorporate with the story. Also the writing has a definite style that is easy to read. 6/10
Congratulations Lovely!! <3 <3
Annnnd Finally!!! The time has come!!! Presenting our First Place Winner!!!:
Yuugen: BOOK 1-The Pentagon of Cozeal by: PSPhoebe123
Review:
Plot: Original. It does contain a couple of clichés but in the end they blend well with the story. I like how it starts from the end, immediately leaving the reader hooked. 8/10
Character development: Smooth and adequate considering what the protagonist has to face throughout the story. 7/10
Settings: Though this is a rather fast paced novel I would have appreciated more attention to details. And better descriptions of the world we're in and of some of the scenes, that can come out as slightly confusing. 5/10
Conflict: Plain and simple. 6/10
Diction/Grammar/Detail: Some few spelling mistakes, probably due to distraction. I suggest always reading the chapter from bottom to top. Being a huge typo magnet myself it always helps me to catch every single mistake.
While there's not enough description when it comes to the settings I think there's a little too much explaining. I'd leave the readers to figure out some things for themselves.
Lots of rapid changes in point of view. Maybe a bit too many. 6/10
Creativity: The story is definitely one of a kind. I haven't finished it yet but I'm going to. 9/10
