Judges Information And Rules!
Firstly, I'm very happy that you have chosen to sign up as a judge! However, before doing so i want to ask you to PLEASE read this entire section carefully. I've had many judges sign up in the past, then abandon the contest half way through, which leaves me struggling to find a replacement, and the deadline to be missed. So please, before signing up read everything listed below, thank you! <3
The Reviews: In this contest, your winners will receive a review written by you, of why their book has won, what you enjoyed, and any advice you can give them. These reviews don't have to be super long, at least a paragraph would be nice, but they do have to be written out properly. This means using complete sentences, and giving actual insight about the book you've read. I don't want your review to be, "I love the story the characters are super relatable and the story was well written." One of the goals of this contest is to help people improve, that means you'll need to help them. So please give an honest review that isn't filled with cliche comments.
Amount of Chapters: you will need to read 5 chapters from each entry within your genre. This does not apply to poetry and short story.
Number Of Entries: Each category will have 25 entries at the most.
Time To Judge / Deadline: Results will be due on February 21st. I suggest reading the entries as your genre fills, instead of waiting for the judging phase to officially start. Entries officially close on January 21st.
No Choosing favourites!: You cannot let a friend of yours win if you wholeheartedly believe their story doesn't deserve to. if anyone attempts to bribe you, you'll need to inform me and we'll deal with it.
leaving The Contest: As i stated, I've sadly had to deal with many judges who have left during the Awards. I'm very understanding when it comes to personal things suddenly appearing, but please just let me know if you can no longer judge. I've had many judges just completely stop responding to me, completely. If you do sign up to be a judge, please make sure to the best of your abilities that you can remain a judge until you've completed your job.
Shoutouts: Once i have posted your chosen winners within the Awards book, please give the winners of your genre a shoutout, since that is one of the prizes for winning this contest.
Acceptance of LGBT: As with every contest I've done, LGBT novels are completely accepted here and welcome! <3 You'll need to be okay with LGBT content in order to judge. <3
Be Responsive: Each week i will be sending out a message to all current judges. This message will ask you how far along you are in judging, and to make sure you are still active and willing to be a judge. If you do not respond to this message within one week your judging position will be given to someone else.
Things to consider while Judging!
Character development,
Plot / Plot Development,
Detail / Diction / Grammar,
World Building.
