Let's start this off with an Honourable Mention!: 

VIRUS by: Tumike-John 

Review: I have to admit, I am not usually a huge fan of the zombie sub-genre in horror, but this book sucked me straight in. The author has clearly done their research and this book has a rich back story as to how the virus came about. The idea of there being different types of zombies is very intriguing and ties in well with the rest of the plot. So far, I dislike the MC Dr Harmon as his reaction to the outbreak, though believable, is quite selfish, although this is a good thing and it gives him room to develop as a character. A very small suggestion would be to break up your paragraphs a bit more as some of them appear a bit too long but this could be a purely personal preference.

Taking Third Place we have!: 

They Called Me Seer by: SonoTheElephant22 

Review: I really enjoyed this book. The humour laced throughout was really well done, and the plot was very different to other books that I have read. I liked Atlas and the fact that he has had so many encounters with demons that he is now desensitized to them. He is a very believable and likable character and I enjoyed that he is actually talking to us and telling us about his life, the way the author has done this is brilliant and I have not seen it in many other books. I would say that this book deserves a better cover and the description could go into more detail, it's a good story line and it needs a cover and summary that reflects that. Other than that, the supporting characters were well thought out, although my favourite is definitely Derek the demon. Keep writing this book, it's great!

Coming in at Second Place we have!!: 

The Brother's Curse by: ChrissyMReau81

Review: Any fan of Supernatural is bound to love The Brothers Curse. It grips you immediately and throws you straight into the action with its first chapter, very aptly titled Dead Bodies. The author's way with words, especially when describing gore, is fantastic and almost left me queasy while picturing it. I love the plot and the little bits of history that the author has included in it, which give us more insight into what is happening. Crystal is one of my favourite female MCs from any book, the strength she shows in the wake of her parents deaths is admirable, and the fact that she makes mistakes too, makes her realistic. There are some minor grammatical errors, but they do not detract from the story. I would definitely recommend this book to any horror lover.

Annnd Finally! For our First Place Winner we have!!!: 

Woeful Requiem by: JMills_

Review: Woeful Requiem is full of suspense. It portrays grief beautifully with the MC still reeling from the loss of his wife and his deteriorating relationship with his daughter. The descriptions are wonderful and the grammar is near flawless. I cannot believe this book doesn't have more reads, and I really struggled to find anything I could suggest that would improve it. It's a bit of a slow burn but that just builds the suspense and mystery as we wait for the action to begin. The subtle touches of horror are so well done and they throw you straight into John's world. I can almost imagine Tiffany there, whispering into his ear. I loved this book and I am so excited to see what happens.
