An Honourable Mention:
Unheard by ZebaAlmas
Review: I thought this story was great because when I began reading, I instantly felt sympathy for the main character, Ember, when I saw how a lot of the other characters treated her, even her own parents! And the title fits perfectly with the plot—a mute girl who's basically an outcast, but dreams of becoming a singer. I think you wrote this beautifully, but I wished some of the chapters were longer or some were combined into one. The ones in the beginning were really short and ended abruptly, so it would help the story's flow a bit if they were combined. Other than that, this was an amazing read!
Congratulations lovely!
Taking Third Place we have!:
Fly High by: Iori_kei
Review: This one just made me want jump in the story and hug the main character, Adrian. The story has an emotional feel that I can best describe as hopeless and hopeful at the same time. The two main characters initial meeting was the greatest aspect of the small section I read through. The context of the story's title, which you see in the Prologue, was also amazing as it adds to that hopeless/hopeful feel. You did a great job expressing Adrian's attitude towards his bullies and his outlook on his life in general. So far, the plot isn't entirely shown, but you can tell that his feelings are slowly growing. I'll definitely be finishing this in my spare time.
Congratulations Lovely! <3
Coming in at Second Place we have.... A TIE!
Ruthanne Georgeson High by: Distinctive
Review: My favorite thing about this story are the details of the setting. It was easier to visualize everything, which made it much more realistic, especially since it's set in an impoverished community. The plot was nicely introduced in the beginning, presenting the more disadvantaged girl with a life-changing opportunity, but contrasting it with another girl who already lives that type of life. Your writing style was amazing as well! It made the story really enjoyable to read.
AND:
Reaper's Lullaby by: VeilofPetals
Review: I just had to place this story here because of how realistic the characters were. Each of them have specific flaws and their conflicts are tied together with drugs and/or abuse. I love how you incorporated drug use, even describing how the characters used it and how it made them feel. It's a great way that brings awareness to a worldwide issue. Another thing that made this one stick out was the relationship between the two main characters, Nora and Lucas. It was so genuine and real. You can tell that they care deeply for each other, especially in the Prologue. The mood is definitely melancholic and it was expressed in one of the best ways I've ever seen.
Congratulations Lovelies!! <3 <3
Annnd Finally!!!! For Our First Place Winner!!!:
Black Island by: Saskatchewan7
Review: The setting, the characters, the plot, the suspense—they were all fantastic! I'll admit, when I first read it, I wasn't too interested. The introduction was of Anna, a main character, going off on an expedition to the island with a group of men, and she was saying goodbye to her friend. Then I was pulled in by the mystery of this island and its possible dangers. I was also pulled in by the characters themselves, mainly Ray, the journalist, with the way he questioned the man in charge of the island expedition. And the way you described their feelings of being nervous and seasick as they journeyed to the island on the boat was amazing. It had the perfect amount of mystery and suspense and the details in the story were awesome. Another one I'll be checking out later on.
Congratulations Lovely!!! <3 <3 <3
