When Zach and Mini were 12 and 10 years old respectively, they decided to do something on Mother's Day to show their appreciation to their mother. They planned to get a tailor to knit a scarf for her to keep herself warm during work in winter. However, the scarf could not be made with normal silk. The silk has to be taken from the legendary silkworm, Spiworm.

Spiworm, as its name implies, is a combination of a spider and a silkworm. Its speed is thrice as fast as a normal silkworm and the silk it carries is twice the amount of web a spider holds. The scarf made from this silk is said to keep a person warm even during the hot summer when it is extremely hot. In addition, it can be used to make more friends. Although Zach and Mini were scared of spiders and worms respectively, they decided to take up the risk and go catch 2 of the spiworms. They inquired where they can find the Spiworms and they were told it could only be found in a craven in Busker's Vale, a frequent hangout spot for delinquents and located a few streets down their home.

As they were on their way to Busker's Vale, Zach told Mini his plan of capturing the Spiworms. He would attract the delinquents' attention, thus giving her the chance to get into the craven to dig up some Spiworms.

They soon reached Busker's Vale. It was just as the tailor mentioned. There was trash everywhere, basketballs rolling around the streets and delinquents smoking while playing poker outside the houses. It was indeed a messed up place. However, they had a tailor who could use the silk and knit many high quality goods. It is quite surprising because normally no one would go to Busker's Vale They proceeded with their plan. Zach walked up to one of the delinquents and asked for directions to meet their boss.

The delinquent seemed pretty unsatisfied that some low life was requesting to meet their boss and he tried to shoo Zach away nicely without violence. Zach refused to back off and persisted in meeting their boss. The delinquent had had enough of Zach's nonsense and started to attack Zach. Zach, being only 10, up against a 15 year old had no other choice but to run. As he ran, he smiled because the plan was proceeding smoother than expected. When one chases after Zach, the rest would follow. This gave Mini the chance she needed. She sneaked into the craven timidly and looked at her surroundings. It was dark everywhere. She took out her torchlight and ventured into the craven. Soon, she reached a dimly lit area and she suspected that it might be the area she was looking for.

She scanned her surroundings to ensure that there were no delinquents because there is no way a 10 year old girl can even fight a delinquent.

She began digging the soil to find Spiworms. However, no matter how deep she dug, she found nothing. Just then, she heard footsteps coming from the entrance of the craven. She was frozen to the ground. There was no where she could hide so she decided to use the darkness to her advantage. She hid in the shadows of the craven walls and watched what is going to happen next.

Meanwhile, Zach was running for his life from his pursuers. He heard them cursing and swearing at him for running so fast. He then realised that he was running way ahead of them. He decided to use this to his advantage and he headed for an alley. He hid in between two dumpsters and covered himself with boxes. The delinquents soon rolled in one after the other. He made a quick count and he knew that if he tried to escape now, he would not make it because he was outnumbered. He decided to wait patiently for the delinquents to scatter.

At the same time, Mini was also waiting for the delinquents on her side to go away so she can aquire the Spiworms. She had realised earlier that there was a code to call the Spiworms out when one of the delinquent said something like "Hizz Caw Slow". She memorized the code and slowly retreated deeper into the darkness. When the delinquents left, she came out and scanned her surroundings once more to ensure that it was clear to proceed with the plan. There was no one in the vicinity. She mustered all the courage she had and said the code.

At first, nothing happened. She decided to say it again but to no avail. She thought that she had heard the code wrongly when suddenly hissing sounds came from within the darkness. She was frozen to the ground by the sight she beholded- a huge swarm of Spiworms came rushing out of the darkness. She wanted to catch one of them but could not move due to phobia of spiders. At that moment, she heard a huge commotion outside and it seemed to get louder each second.

She then heard Zach's voice whispering to her from the entrance. She went to check and it was indeed Zach. His clothes were dirty and he seemed to have just run a marathon.

Zach dismissed the matter as nothing and rushed her to grab a few Spiworms with her tools she brought along. They had difficulty to catch one but soon, they got the hang of it. They managed to catch 5 Spiworms and put them into a container.

At that moment, several delinquents' voices were heard and it seemed to get closer to them. They quickly packed the container away and quietly sneaked out of the craven. Just as they exited the craven and hid behind some rocks, the delinquents came rolling in one after the other. They decided to wait patiently for the coast to be clear.

A few minutes later, they all came out of the craven swearing. An order to search around the area was given and the delinquents began spliting into groups. As soon as the coast was clear, they rushed to get out from where they came in. However, where they came in was being patrolled by a few delinquents. They decided to distract them by picking up stones from the garden of the houses and throwing them at all directions. Zach and Mini each picked up 3 stones and threw them away from the delinquents. Their plan worked. They were all heading for the stone. They utilized this opportunity to get out of Busker's Vale.

They made it out safely and they went straight to the tailor. The tailor was surprised that 2 kids, one 12 and the other 10, could make it in and out of the Busker's Vale. The tailor took Spiworms and he gave the remaining to Zach and Mini as a reward for being so brave and courageous at such a young age.

They were reluctant to accept his hospitality but they did anyways because they did not want to waste their effort in catching those Spiworms.

The scarf was made as quickly as possible and they reached home before dinner. When they were questioned why they were home so late, they kept quiet. Their father, Bernard*, asked them to meet him after dinner in his room.

At Bernard's room, he questioned the siblings again, this time with the absence of their mother, Catherine*. They explained themselves in detail and Bernard understood them. He was proud that both of his children had grown to be such responsible children.

Later that night, Catherine was asked to go to the living room with her eyes blindfolded. She was instructed to count to 3 and she did. When she opened her eyes, she saw a beautiful snow white scarf placed neatly on her lap. She thanked Zach and Mini for the present and asked them not to be so reckless next time. Mini was puzzled as she thought that Zach was fine all the while. She just realised that Zach has bruises on his hands.

She asked him what had happened to him and he said that he fought one of the delinquent to get into the craven when he managed to escape from the alley. Though he was overpowered, he still defeated the delinquent because he looked like a rookie who had recently joined. A simple rock throw at the face of the delinquent with a few punches to the stomach knocked him out. Mini and Catherine understood the situation and warned Zach to not be that reckless again. After all, it is the thought that counts, not the actions. Bernard came into the conversation and they had a good long family chat about Bernard's and Catherine's past. Although actions speak louder than words, love for one person can be expressed even without actions. With this, the special Mother's Day story is over.

*I haven't really introduced Zach and Mini's parents' names yet because I haven't developed the story that far yet. You will see Zach and Mini repeat their actions in various situations later as the story progresses.
