Capítulo 10

*DELILAHS pov*

She was here. She was actually here. Alive. Both of them.

But how? They were supposed to be dead... But here they were, eating the same food as we were; well they were. I was just staring at them, moving my fork around to make it look like I was eating.

"Are you ok?" Alex whispered to me, squeezing the hand he was holding. He quickly brought them up to his lips, kissed mine, and then brought them back down in between us as I nodded.

'I just can't believe they are actually here. Our daughter is here Alex! She's actually alive! And Alice is back! My sister is back!'

He gave me a smile as he nodded as well. "I know. I can't believe it as well. I'm actually still in shock that she looks just like my mother."

Another nod from me. A few years ago, on a family vacation, he took us to some old ruins. They were in one of his properties around the world, but no one had stepped foot in them, making them inhabitable. His father had actually hidden some pictures of the royal family in underground tombs, but Alex didn't know about them until I had fallen in one of them.

Of course, he went all Alpha King on me and everyone, and was seconds away on murdering the rest of the floor because it had hurt me, but I had managed to calm him down. With a phone call to Dimitri, Quinn was teleported in seconds to us, and she healed my sprained wrist and ankle.

Once I had convinced Alex and our children that I was fine to continue on with our vacation, we all went down through the hole I had fallen, and found the pictures. Well paintings to be more exact.

Emilee looked exactly like her. One look at her and the way Ali was protective of her, left me with no doubts that she was my daughter.

But how was she alive? I still didn't know...

"Are you enjoying your meal?" Someone asked her and her eyes quickly flicked up from her plate. A small blush crossed through her cheeks as she noticed everyone was looking at her, and I smiled, secretly thanking that she was human. It's not that I was angry with two of my children; it's just that when you were constantly surrounded with nothing but paranormal creatures, any human being was welcomed.

"Yes, thank you."

"How about you Ali? Do you need me to-"

"I'm fine Tommy. I'm fine." Ali sighed, interrupting him and I frowned. She wasn't like this before. She actually enjoyed having mate, but now, she seemed like if she didn't want one.

"So how many languages do you know?" Dimitri asked after a few moments of awkward silence. I looked up from my plate, curious on what he was talking about and softly gasped when I saw the expression he was giving her.

Adoration.

"You know multiple languages?" Alex asked surprised. Both Alice and Emilee nodded, and a small smile appeared on his face. "Which ones?"

Within the next few minutes, it turned into a full blown, conversation containing different languages. I knew I wasn't the only one staring at the four people who were talking with confused expressions. Only when they turned it back to English, did William comment on it.

"Well you better have not been talking about us. If you are, make sure it's good stuff."

A round of chuckles were his reply, and even a few smiles. Ariana, Aprils only daughter, said something that made both Ali and Emilee look down with a sigh.

"So Ev. Are you excited for your birthday tomorrow?" That also reminded me we hadn't done anything yet...

"Ehh not really. Same as always, just a year older though."

"But you can now officially decided if you want to turn, or stay human." Dimitri reminded her and she nodded. Emilee dropped her fork, and the frown on my face got deeper.

Why are they reacting like this?

"Something wrong?" Arie asked, her gaze directed at them. Everyone turned to stare at them again.

"Birthdays.... are a tough subject for me."

My eyes began to burn. I looked down, and I felt Alex's eyes on me when he sensed my quick change in mood.

Of course they were a tough subject. She never celebrated them with her family and here we were, rubbing it in.

"You alright mom?" Noah asked, concern in his voice, since I had been quiet the entire time. I quickly wiped the single tear that had managed to escape my eye and looked back up.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I gave him a small smile and then turned to face Emilee. "I'm sorry we started this conversation. I didn't mean to-"

She shook her head quickly, her eyes going wide as Ali just stared at her. "No, it isn't that. It's just this upcoming birthday that's going to be rough."

"Why?" Almost everyone asked and she jumped. She just shook her head again and didn't look up.

"Are you sure you want to have this conversation now? I thought you wanted to wait."

"Who are you talking to?" Tom asked her, but she ignored him.

"Fine." She looked up from Emilee and looked straight at me. "Is there a place we can go and talk... in private?"

I nodded immediately. "Our office. Do you need just me or..."

Her eyes quickly scanned the table and she sighed. "Alex... and Dimitri can come as well I guess."

Tom growled besides her. "I am not leaving you alone. You are not escaping from me again."

She escaped from him? There was a lot we still hadn't talked about then...

"Relax Tom. Once I'm done with them, I'll talk with you, ok? I just need to tell them something concerning Emilee."

"What's wrong? Is she ill?" Dimitri was behind Emilee in seconds, and that caused Alex to growl and Ali to stiffen besides him.

"Get away from my daughter Dimitri."

Red eyes and flashing fangs was his respond. If I hadn't placed my hand on Alex's shoulder, I'm sure he would have jumped over the table to beat some sense into Dimitri.

"I'll explain everything in private. Can we go?"

I led the way, feeling the gazes of the rest of our family as they watched us walk away. When we were in the office, Alex softly closed the door and then crossed his arms when he saw how close Dimitri was to Emilee.

"I swear Dimitri. If you don't move away from her..."

With a sigh, Emilee stood up and came to sit next to me. I was momentarily shocked, but I quickly smiled and grabbed one of her hands, hoping she at least would let me do this. I knew we were rushing into things before, but trying to take it slow now for her sake was harder than I thought.

When she didn't pull away, I looked up at Alex with a smile and he smiled back. My smile immediately faltered when Alice broke the silence.

"Emilee is dying."

*EMILEES pov*

"What?" Was the response she immediately got. Two of the voices were soft and in shock, while the other one was just angry.

"What do you mean she's dying? She was dead when she was born! How is she alive right now? Why don't you start off with that!" Dimitri yelled at her and I frowned. I stood up, separating the tight grip my mom had on my hand and took a step towards his direction.

"Don't talk to her like that! She's trying to explain everything!"

His eyes went back to the natural brown when he looked back at me, and he nodded. "I apologize. It's just.... I'm confused. Can you answer my questions?"

'I'll do it. Just fill in whatever I miss.' With a nod from her, I took my seat back and looked down at my hands as I spoke.

"Technically, I am alive right now, but on the day of my birthday, if Tatiana isn't near me, I'm not going to be living anymore."

A sob escaped my moms lips and my dad quickly crouched down in front of her. "Why does she need to be near you?" He asked as he held her hand.

I licked my dry lips and took a deep breath. "The connection I told you about earlier has something to do with it too. I didn't understand why I had one, until I found out what had happened to me." One short look at Ali had me continuing. "I may be wrong, but I believe Tatiana shared some of her power with me to bring me back to life. She cursed Alice into a vampire to bring her back to life, but since I was just a baby, I guess she gave me her power."

"But you're dying again?" Dimitri asked confused.

I shook my head. "Well technically... I'm being cursed too." Three sharp intake of breaths were all I heard as I paused. "On the day of my birthday, I am being turned into a vampire so I can continue on with my life. If Tatiana doesn't do it, I will die."

There was a roar, a hiss, and then something falling to the floor as Dimitri threw a lamp across the room.

"You will not die, you hear me? I will turn you myself if Tatiana doesn't do it. The Moon Goddess only knows if she will actually go through with it!"

"And what makes you think I'll give you permission to change her?" My dad roared at him. He was standing protectively in front of me, while his hand was outstretched to mom. "You rejected her the second she was born!"

My intake of breath had him looking at me as he rapidly shook his head. "That's not true. I can explain-"

"Don't you lie Dimitri. I saw you run with my own eyes! You only came back because you learned she was dead!" My mom yelled at him, standing up.

"Emilee, please. Let me explain."

I took three steps back as I shook my head. "Explain what? I may not know much about mates or beloveds, but I do know what a rejection is. And now I know how one feels." Even if I hadn't thought much of knowing I had a beloved.

"Em-"

"Enough Dimitri! You can't just act like you didn't do it! Leave!"

"No! I am not leaving here without my beloved!" He hissed, his eyes staying the bright red. They were trained on me, and followed me, even as I moved behind Ali.

"She's not yours. Now leave my property and leave my family alone!" My dad roared, crouching down in preparedness for a phase.

Dimitri just kept on hissing and shaking his head. "Not. Without. Her."

I knew I had to do something before they began to fight. I knew I wasn't going anywhere with Dimitri, knowing exactly what he had done, but I couldn't let anyone get hurt.

I had no clue how to contact her, so I just closed my eyes and thought of her. I just repeated her name over and over again, and in seconds, I felt her presence next to me.

The snarling and the hissing stopped as soon as she arrived. Their wide eyes only stared at Tatiana in shock as she gently placed a hand on my shoulder, and gave it a small squeeze.

"You summoned me child?"

"You!" They both roared and lunged. I shrieked, and gasped as I felt myself being moved to the other side of the room.

A black wolf suddenly appeared in the place of my dad, and my mom just stared at everyone in shock from her prior place. She hadn't moved an inch, unlike me.

"Now, now Kings. Wouldn't want me to end her life right here, right now." Growls and gasps was all she had and she chuckled softly. "I won't do that. But I will tell you the reason why everything happened. Why I took both Alice and Emilee here, and did not let you find her until now."

With a quick snap of her fingers, Ali gasped and clutched her head. She fell down to the floor, and whispered, "Tommy," before she passed out.

"What did you do to her?" My mom cried as she went down to her knees to check up on her.

"I just gave her her memories back. I'm making everything easier in you since you are only furthering yourself apart when you are supposed to do the opposite."

"What do you mean by that?" I asked, and she turned to face me.

"Child. A war is coming. A war that all supernatural creatures will take part of, just because of one tiny mistake."

"A war? A war against who?" I whispered, even more confused as ever.

"A war against humans."

I'm speeding things up a bit. I don't want to bore y'all with more stuff when there are obvious questions on to why this is all happening. Plus I have no idea on how to bore y'all (aka what to write to bore you ahah)

Does anyone know the mistake? I THINK it's pretty obvious... I'm not sure. (Hint: Ali has to do with it)

Next chapter, I'll give everything into more detail, so if you're confused, I'll explain. I'll try to help right now without spoiling everything, so I do apologize if my replies to your comments sound vague 🤗
