PREVIEW
Capitulo 1
"Mi nombre es Emilee y tengo diecisiete años," I respond when she asked me what my name and age were. She just nodded once, turned around, and continued her pacing as she quizzed me sentence after sentence. When I pronounced a word wrong, I would roll my eyes and scoff. "It's not like you're a master at it! You're still learning yourself!"
"¡Español! Esta es una lectura de español, no inglés. Cuantas veces te tengo que decir que no hables inglés cuando-" (Spanish! This is a Spanish lesson, not an English one. How many times have I told you to not speak in English when-)
I cut her off with a groan. "¡Perdón! Tú sabes que no me gusta hablar este lenguaje. No es como si lo vamos a necesitar....." (Sorry! You know I don't like to speak in this language! It's not like we are going to need it....)
She sighed, slumped down in the seat across from me at the table and rubbed her throat. "I know, I know. I just want you to be ready for anything. You don't know when and if we are going to be separated."
I looked at my "sister" across from me. She was actually my aunt, but since she looked more like a teenager because of her "status", we were saying she was my sister. I slowly grabbed her hands that were outstretched in front of her as she laid her forehead on the table and squeezed them slightly in understanding.
"We will never be separated aunt Ali. How long have we been together, and how many times have we been in danger?"
She slowly looked up and I saw her eyes flash red slightly. I gulped loudly as her gaze zeroed in on my throat before she looked away. "I need to go. It's been a while...." She whispered, completely ignoring my question.
I nodded and stayed still as she bounced up and walked the two steps to me. She kissed my forehead and shook her head before she sighed.
"Only 6 more months," she mumbled before she left and I sighed deeply.
Only 6 more months until I became a vampire as well.....

*ALIS' POV*
Running. That's what I had been doing for the past two and a half hours as I tried to get rid of the thirst that has been bothering me for two days. A thirst, that I was still getting the hang of, even if I had had seventeen years to perfect.
The memory of finding about that thirst still haunts me to this day....
*flashback*
My throat pulsing in pain slowly made me groan and open up my eyes. My back was as stiff as a board as I untangled from my ball, and I took a few seconds to look at my surroundings while my body got with the program.
I was laying down on a cold, wooden floor, surrounded by four blank walls. The only thing keeping me company though was a lightbulb that hung loosely in the middle of the ceiling, but I still then wanted to be in the darkness. Why? The annoying buzzing noise it made as the electricity passed through all the wires and stuff was getting on my last nerves.
"You finally woke up again."
I quickly looked up to see a tall, dark haired woman standing in front of the single door I had missed from my earlier scan. I hadn't realized my reactions were quicker then I thought until I found myself pressed flat against the wall behind me two seconds later. I gasped, momentarily distracted, and stared at my feet that were in a protective stance. I looked back up in time to see her raised eyebrow go down.
"Well come on, follow me so you can take care of your thirst."
She gave me her back, so she didn't see the panicked expression that crossed through me. When I didn't follow her ten seconds later, she turned her upper body around, and raised her eyebrows again. "Well, aren't you coming?"
I shook my head. "I don't know you. So I am not going anywhere with you."
She sighed, turned fully around and rubbed her temples. She propped herself against the wall next to the door and crossed her arms in front of her. "Listen here Alice." My ears twitched when she said that name. Was that my name? What was my name? Why couldn't I remember my name? Why couldn't I remember anything? I looked up at her with wide eyes and she just chuckled to herself and shook her head. "Oops, I forgot. You don't remember anything from the second-"
"Remember what? And why can't I remember my name? Why can't I remember anything???"
"Well to start it off, your name is Alice, and my name is Tatiana." I narrowed my eyes at her as she continued. "The reason why your throat feels like it is being ripped apart is because you are thirsty for blood." My eyes widened and she slowly continued. "You are a vampire and I am a witch." My mouth fell open. "I created.... No, I cursed you into becoming a bloodsucking creature."
"But.... But.... How did I-"
"Stop interrupting me child unless you want to go back to the way you were!" She snarled, her hair flying up in the air as the lightbulb flickered non stop.
"And how was I before?" I whispered timidly. Anything was better than being a vampire, right?
She just stared at me as the light stopped flicking and said one word with no emotion. "Dead."
My heart skipped a beat before it began to beat out of control. I just shook my head and tried to ignore everything I had just heard, but the nagging pain in my throat only intensified with my anger against her, and that damn crying lightbulb. So I couldn't stop not thinking about it.
I looked down at my hands and I heard her sigh again. "Look Alice. I know you are probably confused, and you have questions in your head. I will answer all of them after you take care of your thirst. If you don't follow me right now, your body will reject the change and you will die again. Now come on, we don't have time to waste anymore. You should have fed the first time instead of acting all stubborn..." She clearly mumbled out her last few sentences, but with my.... Vampire hearing I heard her perfectly.
I watched her retreating back for a few seconds before I flung myself off the wall and began to follow her...
*end of flashback*
The faint smell of blood brought me back from my flashback, and I looked up in time to see the dark silhouette of a woman tumbling from around the corner. I was standing in the shadows of a tree in a neighborhood cities away from where I lived, trying to talk myself into stepping out and go searching. What I didn't realize though, was that I would witness a woman running for her life from two male vampires that were clearly hunting her.
She tried to scream, but nothing came out as she just cried from the pain in her throat. I could see her trying to push her fingers against the puncture wounds, but the blood still slowly seeped through them. She stumbled and tripped over her feet, before she pushed herself back up and wobbled as her feet touched the floor unevenly with the only heel she had left. The men just watched her with a chuckle as she looked around, looking for help. Any source of help.
Not wanting to see this anymore, I got out from my hiding spot just as she crossed me and she froze. Her eyes quickly morphed from one to relief into fear, and she grabbed my arm.
"Run!" She whispered and tried to pull me. With a quick tug, I managed to free my arm and I pushed her back to my spot. She fell down helplessly from all the blood loss, plus I had accidentally used some of my vampire strength.
"Stay here. Do not move."
She just looked at me like I was crazy, but then her eyes widened when she saw the two men I could sense behind me.
"Aww man! Look Derek, another meal!"
I slowly turned around, letting my fangs come out so they would know who I was. But not all the way out as her blood was singing to me like it was to them.
They both hissed when they saw me and took a step back. "That's our meal! You cannot steal her!"
"And you cannot do this! You dumbnuts have probably not been vampires for long since you don't know the rules! Who even turned you?" I hissed as I took a step forward. I heard the girl behind me whimper, but I kept my eyes glued to the two vampires flashing their eyes and fangs at me.
"That is not something you should worry about! What you should be worrying about is what your last words will be since you will die with her!"
I rolled my eyes and began to roll the sleeves up from my long sleeve shirt. "Well try and touch me boys. I've been a vampire for eighteen years, and I'm telling you, I'm a good one."
I felt my eyes flash and I saw them gulp.
Gotcha!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So this will be part of the first chapter. This is clearly unedited, so if you find any mistakes, don't judge. Stuff will be added and changed, so don't skip over this part when it's actually posted.
I don't know if you read the description, but this is not the title of the book. I just wanted something out there for now, so don't get confused when it changes.
Anyways, I had a BETTER version of this chapter, but as I tried to copy and past it into this page, it erased!!! I am still devastated!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Like it was 1000000% better than this.....
I hoped you like it though, and maybe this will keep you excited for the actual chapter which I will try to post by the end of August......
Thank you!!
