Ohana

Just a quick author's note.

When the words are italicizes and only have [ ' ], she is thinking it. When they are italicized and have [ " ], she is signing. It will make sense (I hope lmao) Made small changes to the last chapter, so for those who have read it, you MIGHT want to go back and read the first part, or you'll be slightly confused.

Enjoy!

Capítulo 7

'Where are they taking us?'

It didn't make sense on to why she had bitten my wrist until now. We had two ways of communication, but they only knew about one -which was great when I didn't want them to know I was talking to her.

She gave me a small shrug and just grabbed my hand, pulling me closer to her. Tom -everyone had introduced themselves while Ali interpreted for them- just stared at us from the drivers seat and I squirmed.

"She can't hear us?"

"No." Her voice came out harsh and fast, making me want to flinch in fear. But I had to keep my heart calm and steady, and move my eyes around, while keeping a confused look on my face. "But she can read lips." I saw the look she gave me and I gave her a quick, but small smile.

"Why did you run?" He murmured so softly, I almost didn't hear him. "Why did you run from us?"

"I don't know what you are talking about."

Paul sighed from the passengers seat while Rachel mimicked him from Ali's other side. I was a human in a car full of supernaturals..... how better could this get?

"Alice," Rachel whispered and I turned my head when I felt a gentle touch on my shoulder.

"Are you hungry?" Ali asked me, completely ignoring the lady.

'Am I supposed to say yes?'

She moved her eyes up and down, so I quickly nodded. "Can you stop please?"

"Alice, sweetie."

"Pull over, now."

'Are we running?'

"Is IHOP alright?"

"Yes."

I had no idea who she had just agreed to. I raised an eyebrow, and she sighed before she shook her head.

'Oh.'

It wasn't long until I was slightly pushed out the car, and then dragged into the warm, coffee smelling, restaurant. I inwardly moaned at all the amazing scents, and nodded twice.

'Oh yeah. I'm hungry now.'

We got seated right away, and of course Ali ordered for me once I pointed out what I wanted. The whole hour and a half we were there, Tom kept on trying to get her attention, but she just kept on sipping her coffee, ignoring him.

"Emilee?" At the sound of my name, my head quickly snapped towards the voice. But as I was about to catch his eyes, I quickly avoided them, and pretended I was just popping my neck. I took a sip of my orange juice, and then stood up, grabbing Ali's hand when she stretched it out.

'Fück, that was close!'

"Paul. Remember she can't hear." Rachel murmured and I squeezed Ali's hand. I felt someone lightly grab my free bicep, and I cranked my neck to see him looking at me with pleading in his eyes.

"No. She stays with me." Ali snapped, not even giving him a chance to speak.

"Alice, honey. We all need to talk, peacefully."

Ali stopped walking, and whirled around, bringing me behind her. We were squished in between two cars, and I was beginning to feel claustrophobic as she didn't let me go. "No. We don't need to talk." Thank goodness no other humans were around since her eyes flashed, and even her fangs began to show. "Why should we talk, when I specifically didn't want to talk, therefore the reason I left!"

"If we hadn't followed you, you would have dried that poor girl to the bone!" Tom snapped, pointing at me. "Why is she with you anyways? Why introduce her to us if you are going to kill her soon!"

My teeth were grinding with the pressure I was forcing my jaw to keep shut. Even though on the inside I was fuming, I kept a straight face, and pretended I was still trying to read their lips.

"That is none of your business."

"Can we not have this conversation here on the outside," Rachel whispered as she looked around. "We aren't being very quiet and there are humans around."

"Tell that to him." Ali pointed to Tom and then turned around, giving me a slight push so I could keep on walking.

''Hey! No pushing!'' I signed, irritated.

"I'm sorry. I'm just pissed right now," she whispered so lowly, I almost didn't hear her. When we got to the car, she made me sit in the middle while she took window seat. Rachel sighed heavily as she sat next to me, and no other noise was made as the car pulled out.

"Where are we going?" I signed to Rachel, and she looked at me weirdly.

"Uh.... Alice?"

"She's asking where you are taking us, since you graciously didn't bother to give us that information."

"Alaska." Toms voice came out harsh, and I shuddered as the small space became dark and cold, even though the heater was on.

"What? Why?" Ali gasped, her eyes wide.

"Your family is there."

"I thought I already had my family with me...." she whispered in confusion as she stared at Paul and Rachel.

'What do you mean? Ali, what haven't you told me?'

"You have your parents with you Alice, but you are still missing your sister."

My heart stopped, my breath froze, and my eyes widening in shock could not be stopped as I stared at all of them.

Parents.... sister? What?

"What does he mean?" I signed, giving her a shocked expression. She just looked at me, and I repeated myself multiple times before she sighed.

"Nothing."

"This isn't nothing. What the heck is he talking for about? Are Rachel and Paul your parents?"

"What is she saying Ali?" Rachel asked, looking at both of us.

"Nothing."

"That doesn't look like nothing. She looks angry and confused for some reason."

"Tell me the truth or I will speak!" When she just kept on staring at me, not even bothering to move her lips, I opened my mouth to say something. But her lips parting open in a ragged breath stopped me and she confirmed my thoughts.

"They are." She signed and my mouth dropped. Paul and Rachel were her parents. So that meant....

'These people.... are my..... grandparents?' I thought so slowly.

Ali hesitated for a few seconds, but she nodded once with a sigh. "Yes." She spoke out loud for everyone to hear.

In seconds, the car became so tight, I began to hyperventilate.

'I need to get out. I NEED TO GET OUT!'

"Em..." Ali slapped my hands away as I tried to open the door to the moving car. "Em stop." I could feel all eyes on me as I continued to struggle in front of her. "EMILEE STOP!" She slammed me back down to my seat, and I groaned, wincing as the seat buckle dug into my behind.

"What is wrong with her?" Tom asked, his voice full of concern. "Do I need to pull over?"

"She's fine." She gritted out the last word as she glared at me. "She is just overreacting."

'Overreacting? OVERREACTING?' I screeched in my thoughts and she winced. 'HOW AM I OVERREACTING? I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I AM IN A CAR WITH MY GRANDPARENTS! TO TOP IT OFF, WE ARE GOING TO ALASKA! HOW ARE YOU NOT PANICKING ABOUT THAT?'

She just stared at me, confused, and raised an eyebrow up. "Didn't you hear the second half of his explanation?" She signed. I just stared at her in confusion and shook my head. "Well apparently you didn't see my reaction either."

'What are you talking about?' I thought, too tired to even sign.

"He said I was missing my sister. My sister Emilee. Singular, as if I only have one sibling." My mouth dropped again as it slowly started to sink in, and she gave me a small smile and continued to sign. "Since I'm your aunt, that must mean that my only sister is your mother. We are finally going to meet your mother Em."

Even if I was allowed to speak, no words would have come out of my mouth. My mouth just hung open, and I didn't even bother paying attention to the conversation that was going on around me. I could feel their eyes on me, but my mind was still trying to process what she had just told me.

Her sister. My mother. The person who had given birth to me.

I knew nothing about her. I didn't know if she wanted me, if she even knew I was alive, or anything like that. I only knew that Alice was my aunt, because Tatiana had told us, but we had also gotten a DNA test done.

"What if she doesn't want me. I know nothing about her or why I'm not with her." I signed, getting out of my thoughts.

She frowned and then looked at Tom. She hesitated for a few seconds, but I'm guessing her being mad at them was long gone now with this information. "Can someone please confirm my thoughts."

"Thoughts about what?"

Before she could answer them out loud, I shook my head and quickly signed, "Remember! They don't know I'm related to you!"

She stopped herself and looked at me. She sighed, and shook her head. "Never mind. But I do have some questions."

"Ok."

"Does..... does my sister.... does she have any children?"

'Ok. Not a bad way to ask.'

"Yes. She has three children." Tom spoke as he kept his eyes on the road.

"Wow.... I'm an aunt..."

"Yes. What brought this on?"

Her hazel eyes quickly snapped towards me, but she slowly answered his question. "No reason. How did I even get separated from all of you. I know I... died, but how did I end up away?"

'Dang you're good!'

The car was silent for a while. No one dared to speak as they all looked away, trying to avoid the question.

"Is anyone going to answer? Or do I have to guess myself....."

"Someone took you." Paul finally spoke, breaking the silence. Ali was about to speak, but he sighed deeply, and turned around to face us. "She took you with Delilahs stillborn child."

Stillborn? Another child?

"Stillborn? She had another child?" She looked at me, her eyes widening slightly. The car was silent again when no one spoke and Ali groaned frustratedly as she ran a hand through her hair. "Is no one going to answer my questions?"

"These are not answers we should be telling you. You can ask all the questions you want, once we get there in three days."

"Three days in a car? Why not just fly there! Or even run!"

'These people are stupid if they think I'll stay in a car for three days. A week with all the stops we will make to rest...' I angrily thought to her.

"Well you brought your friend here." Tom spat as he eyed me, clearly not forgetting the conversation from earlier. "We cant exactly run all the way there."

"She knows what we are you dumbass," Ali scoffed with a roll of her eyes. "I bit her, remember?"

"Is that how you've been feeding? Directly from the vein?" Rachel asked, changing the subject.

"Yes. Always. Why?"

"You aren't allowed to feed from the vein." My eyes widened at the information she was giving us. "It was allowed once, but not anymore. King Dimitri forbid it almost two decades ago. Now you can only drink from bags, or animal."

"Well I haven't had a problem drinking from the vein." She mumbled something incoherent underneath her breath, but no one bothered to ask her what she said.

"Who created you?"

Ali's lips wobbled and her nose scrunched up as she lied. "I don't remember. Anyways, back to the point, why are we even driving?"

The car swerved to the side, and I almost let out a squeak as I slammed into her.

"You want to run? Fine. We will run. But we are not making any pit stops for your friend there. She's going to die anyways since she knows too much."

I stopped breathing as I stared out the window, and gulped.

Oh this was a bad idea.... a very bad idea.
