Chapter 2: Wyndon Hotel

The revelation of Leon being not only Hop's older brother, but the champion of Galar nearly pops your eyes out of your skull. Leon stands before you, taller than his profile. His curious gaze land on you, inspecting you from head to toe. What stood out are your bangs covering the left side of your face.

"I'm sorry. I know it's late." Leon started. "I got lost and had to ask for directions only to be swarmed by fans, ya know?"

"Not to mention you left Charizard in it's Pokéball." Hop retorted.

Leon sheepishly rubs his nape and replies, "in the midst of urgency, I completely forgot to bring him along."

You observe the conversation silently noticing Leon is an aloof type of person. Given they way Hop is the one giving an earful meant it's not the first time. Interestingly enough, the boy seems to be the responsible one. How ever does a character manage to win the title of champion is a mystery, but you've learned not to judge a book by it's cover. "Thanks to (Y/N), I would still be lookin' for you." You're in the spotlight now. Heads turn to you.

"Ah, so you're the one who helped Hop? Much appreciated. I was concerned about leaving him alone if I didn't find my way back." He said. "As you may know, I'm Leon." He rests a hand on his chest then bows respectfully in a knightly fashion. It's the first for you, and you quite like it. It felt proper, yet humbled.

"Charmed." You chirped. "I'm (Y/n). Hop mentioned your name, but I had no idea he was related to the champion."

"That tends to be the case when I mention I have a younger brother as well." Leon ruffles Hop's hair earning protests. "Now then, how can we ever repay you?"

"Oh, it isn't a big deal. I was just being a good Samaritan." A thought crosses your mind remembering where you need to be. "Actually, I need a place to settle for the night. Are there any hotels available?"

Hop finally removes his brother's hand from his head to answer, "yes there is! We happen to be staying in one for the evening. Isn't that right?"

"Right!" Leon confirmed. "We'll gladly escort you there ourselves."

It seems you've lucked out on getting a personal guide. You no longer have to worry about where you're going. It's a good thing you did lend Hop a hand. "Great!" You step aside creating a path for them. "After you gentlemen." The gesture pleases Leon  and Hop as they lead the way.

"How extravagant." Is thing that comes to mind as scan the entrance of the hotel. Columns, and floors colored in black marble. Gold furniture to match the theme while cluttered by potted plants as the cherry on top. "Wyndon certainly has class."

"It's only for tourist attraction since Wyndon popularly known for the stadium where the championships take place." Hop stated.

"The Rose tower is also an attraction. An important piece to the city." Leon added.

"What lies there?"

"The city's source of power. Without it would prove to be devastating for the people." Leon crosses his arms and proceeds, "that's why only the chairman and his workers may enter. It's not meant to be public."

"I guess it makes sense. We can't have people playing with something they don't understand." You said.

"Exactly. You get it." Leon cheered, but to you it felt sort of condescending.

"Anyway, thank for bringing me here. It was a pleasure to meet both of you."

"Likewise." Leon shoots a curt nod. It was somewhat disheartening to bid farewell for he has enjoyed your company in such a short time. It's not everyday he gets to take a break, and have a pleasant chat. It's moments like it that he cherishes the most. Until then, he has to wait to be defeated to return to an ordinary life.

"We'll see each other again soon." Hop said confidently.

You cannot deny you've taken a somewhat of a liking on the pair. Perhaps it was more of the feeling of having friends around? "I'm sure we will." You agreed.

"But for now," Hop yawns as sleep begins to sneak up on him. "Have a good night." You awe at his attempts to stay up.

"You have a good night too, kiddo." You raise your head towards Leon and wish him the same before taking your leave.

"What an interesting lady." Hop said as he watches you walk away. "Wouldn't you say, Lee?" Said man tilts his head confused. Whatever the boy was implying is a failed bust. Hop can see the question marks written all over his face. "Never mind. I guess that's just me." He snickered.

"You're not making sense anymore. You must be tired." Leon pulls him close for a playful wrestle. "Let's get you to bed."

Hop whines as he's dragged away to their room.

You kick off your shoes and flop on the fluffiest bed ever with a long sigh. You have had a long night, and tomorrow will be eventful for sure, but for now all you want to do is relax from the jet lag.

You stare at the ceiling recalling everything that has happened. There is so much to see and you wouldn't have had much time if you hadn't bumped into Hop. You're just glad the kid is ok, and to have a room all by yourself. Yeah, you've forgotten how lonely traveling is. You sit up to and check your phone to distract your mind. You made sure to text your parents and let them know you arrived safe and sound. Lastly, you texted your master. She wasted no time in answering. Before you can respond, you receive a call from her. Always punctual.

You pick it up. "Hello?"

"Well hello~ I'm glad you arrived safely. How are you liking Galar so far?"

"Can't say." You said. "I barely had enough time to gander while I was helping a lost child out to find their brother."

"Oh? Big brother? Was he cute?" She teased.

You blush and grumble in distaste for that she can casually poke fun over something private. In the end she means we. Romance just wasn't on your mind. "Moving on." You suggested.

"Very well." She sighed. You can hear her disappointment through the phone. Clearly calling you a party pooper. "Anything unusual in Wyndon?"

"No. Everything was normal." You peer out the window admiring the view. "Tomorrow I'll be going to Motostoke for the opening ceremony." The air turns cold and quiet for what felt like an hour.

"Will you be ready?" You pause, hesitant to answer the question. " You do know you have to press on, right? There is no turning back. I sent you out there because I thought you were ready."

"I am ready." You retorted. "I guess it didn't sink in that I am here."

"I understand. It's been a long time coming. You'll know what to do. Have faith in yourself." Her words of encouragement are enough to ease your doubts. There is so much going on for you to process. It's the first day and all you know is it all requires baby steps towards your goal. A goal you've waited your entire life and so much is at stake.

"Thank you, my lady. I better get some sleep. I'll talk to you later." You dismiss yourself then hang up. You throw yourself back on the bed again. All you want to do now is sleep. Thinking about what needs to be done will only drive you insane.

(A/N): Awe~ if you're wondering what Hop was implying it's that he has a harmless crush on reader like kids tend to do
