JUST STEVE FIGHTING WHILE ALSO DRAGGING SEVEN WITH HIM LMAO
Also this is also short, BUT END OF AN ERA
BEFORE SEVEN KNEW IT, ALL HELL
broke loose. The once controlled chaos erupted into a full-blown firefight, Steve and Sam both second-guessed bringing her along, realizing the danger they had exposed her to. But there was no turning back now. Their first plan was to set her up in a room with Maria but then again, the winter solider could pop up any minute and it would make their job way easier if they had Seven with them.
Steve moved with precision, dragging Seven along as he fought off agents left and right. He kept her close, ensuring she was shielded from the bullets flying through the air. The din of gunfire and shouts filled the space, making it difficult to think clearly.
Sam's voice crackled through Steve's earpiece as they ducked behind a large crate for cover. "Hey, Cap, I found those bad guys you were talking about!"
"Are you okay?" Steve responded quickly, glancing around to assess their surroundings.
"I'm not dead yet! How about you and Lucky?" Sam's voice carried a hint of humor despite the tense situation.
"We're also not dead yet!" Steve replied, gripping Seven's hand tightly as they prepared to move again. "Stay close," he instructed her, his voice firm but reassuring.
They sprinted from their hiding spot, weaving through the labyrinthine corridors of the SHIELD facility. Agents appeared from every direction, but Steve dispatched them with swift, practiced movements. Seven watched in awe and fear, trying to keep up.
After a particularly intense skirmish where Steve had to fend off three agents simultaneously, Sam's voice came through again. "Alright, Cap, I'm in!"
Steve exhaled a brief sigh of relief. "Good. Stay sharp."
"Seven minutes, Cap!" Maria's voice echoed through the comms, adding urgency to their mission.
"Working on it," Steve replied, pulling Seven along as they burst through a door. The hallway beyond was clear for the moment, but they knew it wouldn't last.
They ran through the hall on the helicarrier, Seven dragged behind him, she was way slower than him. Seven watched him press a bunch of buttons and do something and then he said "Alpha lock!" Grabbing Seven's hand as they began to run again.
SEVEN TRIED NOT TO BE SCARED WHEN she and Steve plummeted from the air, her heart racing as they descended rapidly toward the third helicarrier. Relief washed over her as Sam swooped in, catching them just in time and depositing them safely on the platform.
"You know, you're a lot heavier than you look," Sam quipped, trying to inject some humor into the tense situation.
"I had a big breakfast, and for what it's worth, a kid latched to me," Steve replied, giving Seven a reassuring nod.
Before Seven could fully process their exchange, chaos erupted. She saw Steve get shoved down by a sudden force. Her eyes widened in shock as she heard Sam shout, "Steve!" It took her a moment to register the figure standing menacingly above Steve—it was her papa, the Winter Soldier. He looked more like the ruthless assassin than the man who had once comforted her.
"Papa!" Seven shouted, her voice a mix of fear and desperation. She watched in horror as her papa grappled with Sam, yanking him back with brutal force. "Stop! Papa! Stop!" she cried out, but it was as if he couldn't hear her, too far gone in his HYDRA programming.
"Sev! Stay down!" Sam commanded, grabbing her and practically throwing her behind some crates. Seven winced as she hit the ground but quickly scrambled to peek out from behind the crates. She saw her papa tearing off Sam's wing, and before she could scream for him to stop, Bucky kicked Sam off the helicarrier with a powerful blow.
Determined to stop him, Seven ran out from her hiding spot. "Papa! No! They are good! We have to help them!" she pleaded.
Bucky paused, his eyes widening in shock at the sight of his daughter. "Seven...what are you..."
"Papa—!" Seven started, but Bucky scooped her into his arms, cutting off her protest. He began to run, holding her tightly, his grip firm yet gentle.
He didn't respond to her desperate pleas as he made his way inside the helicarrier. Setting her down, he knelt in front of her, his expression torn between his orders and his love for her. "You stay put, you hear me?" he said, his tone leaving no room for argument.
"No—papa—!" Seven protested, her voice breaking.
"Seven. You stay," he repeated firmly, standing up and running off before she could say anything more.
Seven's heart ached as she listened to the sounds of the fight between her papa and Steve echo through the helicarrier. Each clash of metal and grunt of pain made her flinch. Steve had been kind to her, and now her papa was trying to kill him. She felt helpless, caught between the two people she cared about.
Suddenly, the sounds of the fight grew louder and more violent. She heard her papa scream, followed by Steve's urgent shouts of "drop it!" Knowing she needed to act, Seven decided to take matters into her own hands. She climbed over the railing, her legs trembling with fear, and jumped.
She landed on a lower platform with a grunt, pain shooting through her legs. But there was no time to waste. She had to make another jump to reach where her papa and Steve were fighting. Sliding down the unstable platform, she made the final leap, landing awkwardly but managing to stay on her feet.
The scene before her was chaotic. Her papa was bleeding from multiple wounds, and Steve had him in a chokehold. Seven's heart pounded in her chest as she ran towards them, shouting, "No! You're killing him!"
"I'm not killing him!" Steve shouted back, struggling to keep Bucky subdued. Suddenly, Bucky went limp in Steve's arms. Steve released him immediately, focusing on retrieving the vital component he had been fighting for.
"Stay put! He's not gonna hurt you," Steve instructed, beginning to climb back up the helicarrier.
Ignoring his words, Seven rushed to her papa's side, shaking him frantically. "Papa! Wake up!" she cried, her voice breaking with fear and desperation. She pressed her small hands against his chest, willing him to wake up and return to her.
Bucky's eyes fluttered open, and he groaned in pain. "Seven..." he murmured, his voice weak.
Before Seven could say anything, Bucky gently pushed her to the side as he stood up, pointing his gun at Steve, who was now climbing. Seven grabbed the arm he wasn't using. "Papa! Stop!" she shouted again, her voice echoing with desperation.
Bucky, in his battle-hardened state, shoved Seven off more aggressively than he intended. As she stumbled backward, he fired a shot at Steve, hitting him in the leg. Bucky swayed, lightheaded from his injuries, lowering the gun momentarily.
Seven watched in horror as her father raised the gun again, this time aiming at Steve's back. "Papa! Don't!" she cried, standing up and reaching for Bucky once more.
"Seven, stop!" Bucky growled, shoving her down again, though not with full force, just enough to make her fall over.
The helicarrier began to collapse around them. Bucky, acting on instinct, grabbed Seven and threw her out of harm's way as a large piece of debris crashed down on top of him. His scream of pain tore through the chaos.
"No!" Seven screamed, scrambling to her feet and rushing to his side. "Steve! Help!" she cried, desperately trying to lift the heavy object pinning her father down.
Steve, despite his own injuries, limped towards them, his face a mask of determination. Together, he and Seven struggled to lift the debris. Seven's small hands were barely effective, but she gave everything she had.
With a groan, Bucky squirmed free from under the weight of the debris, and Steve and Seven dropped it with a heavy thud. There was a tense silence as the two men stared each other down.
"You know me," Steve said, his voice steady but laced with pain.
Bucky raised his fist, his eyes wild. "No, I don't!" he shouted, punching Steve with a force that sent him sprawling to the ground.
"Yes, you do, Papa!" Seven cried, grabbing his arm again, tears streaming down her face.
Bucky shook her off, almost mechanically. Steve struggled to stand, his movements slow and labored. "Bucky..." he said weakly, "You've known me your whole life."
Bucky threw another punch, the impact resounding through the collapsing structure. "Your name is James Buchanan Barnes," Steve said, his voice firm despite the blood trickling from his mouth.
"Shut up!" Bucky roared, punching Steve again and knocking him down.
"Papa, the file! Remember what I told you!" Seven pleaded, but her words fell on deaf ears.
Steve stood up once more, swaying on his feet. "I'm not gonna fight you," he said, dropping his shield to the ground with a clang. "Not in front of your daughter, not ever again. You're my friend."
The words seemed to hang in the air, heavy with history and emotion. Bucky lunged at Steve, tackling him to the ground. "You're my mission," Bucky growled, his fists raining down on Steve's face.
Seven ran up behind her father, grabbing his fist mid-air. "Please, Papa, stop!" she begged, tears streaming down her face. Bucky pushed her off again, less harshly but enough to make her stumble back.
"Then finish it," Steve said, his voice a mere whisper. "Because I'm with you till the end of the line."
For a moment, time seemed to stop. Bucky's fist hovered in the air, and something flickered in his eyes. Tears welled up, and his expression shifted from rage to confusion, and then to something almost like recognition.
Before Bucky could react further, the helicarrier shuddered violently. A massive piece of debris fell, tearing through the platform and sending Steve and almost Seven plummeting. Bucky's instincts kicked in, and he grabbed Seven's hand just in time, pulling her to the safety of his arms.
BUCKY HAD STEVE IN ONE HAND
Bucky had Steve in one hand, dragging him to shore, and Seven in his other hand, holding her tight after their desperate swim to save Steve. Seven's brown hair clung to her face, the blonde roots starting to show again. She coughed, sputtering water, but clung to Bucky with a fierce determination.
The trio reached the shore, waterlogged and exhausted. Bucky dropped Steve but lingered for a bit before starting to limp away. "Come one, Sev."
The duo continued to limp away from the shore, the sound of the crashing waves fading behind them. Seven stayed close to Bucky, her small hand gripping his tightly. Despite the exhaustion and the cold, she felt a sense of safety with her father by her side.
As they moved further from the water, Bucky's mind raced with thoughts of what to do next. He needed to find a safe place for them to regroup, to figure out their next move. But for now, he focused on putting one foot in front of the other, keeping Steve and Seven safe, and getting them to safety.
