THE DAYS PASSED WERE A BLUR OF
recovery for Seven. Bucky remained by her side, helping her through the physical pain and emotional turmoil of losing her brother. The lie he had told her weighed heavily on his conscience, but he couldn't bring himself to tell her the truth. He feared the loss of her trust and love more than anything else.

One day, as Bucky went to get some food for Seven, the old man entered the medical wing. He walked with an air of authority, his presence commanding attention. He had been keeping an eye on the situation, waiting for the right moment to reveal the truth. He approached Seven's bed, his eyes cold and calculating.

"Seven," he greeted, his voice dripping with false warmth.

Seven looked up, surprised to see him. "What do you want?"

The old man smiled, a chilling expression that sent a shiver down her spine. "I thought it was time we had a little chat. There's something you need to know about your brother's death."

Seven's heart clenched at the mention of One. "What about him? Papa said you guys killed him."

The old man's smile widened, a predatory gleam in his eyes. "Did he now? Interesting. You see, there's more to the story than your father has told you."

Seven's eyes narrowed, suspicion creeping into her voice. "What do you mean? You killed guys killed my brother. Why would you kill him?"

The old man took a step closer, his gaze never leaving hers. "Your brother didn't die at the hands of us. He was killed by someone much closer to you. Someone you trust."

Seven's heart pounded in her chest, a sinking feeling settling in her stomach. "Who?"

The old man leaned in, his voice a whisper. "Your  dear papa. He killed your brother."

Seven's world tilted, the old man's words echoing in her mind. "No. You're lying. Papa would never do that."

The old man straightened, his smile gone. "Believe what you want, but the truth is, your father killed One. He saw him as a threat, just like HYDRA does. He wanted to protect you, but in doing so, he took away someone who loved you."

Tears filled Seven's eyes, her mind reeling. "Why are you telling me this?"

The old man shrugged, his expression indifferent. "Because you deserve to know the truth. Your father has been lying to you. You should know who he really is."

Seven's tears spilled over, her heart breaking. "Get out," she whispered, her voice shaking with anger and grief. "Get out!"

The old man turned and left without another word, leaving Seven alone with her thoughts. The room felt like it was closing in on her, the truth suffocating her. She couldn't believe it. She didn't want to believe it. But the old man's words had planted a seed of doubt in her heart.

When Bucky returned, he had food in his hands, he found Seven in tears, her body trembling with emotion. "Sev? What's wrong?" he asked, rushing to her side.

She looked up at him, her eyes filled with pain and betrayal. "Is it true?" she demanded, her voice breaking. "Did you kill One?"

Bucky's heart sank, the food in his hands forgotten. "Sev, I..."

"Did you?" she interrupted, her voice rising in desperation.

Bucky took a deep breath, his hands shaking. "Yes," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "I did."

Seven's sobs intensified, her body shaking with grief. "Why? Why would you do that?"

Bucky's eyes filled with tears, his heart breaking at the sight of her pain. "He was going to kill me, Sev. He thought I was a danger to you. He wouldn't stop. I had no choice."

Seven shook her head, her tears falling freely. "You lied to me. You said HYDRA killed him. You made me believe..."

"I know," Bucky said, his voice filled with regret. "I was trying to protect you. I didn't want you to hate me."

Seven's anger flared, her voice sharp and accusing. "You betrayed me! You killed my brother and then lied about it. How can I ever trust you again?"

Bucky reached out, his hand trembling. "Sev, please. I did it to protect you. Everything I've done has been to keep you safe."

Seven recoiled from his touch, her eyes blazing with anger and pain. "Get away from me! I don't want to see you. I don't want to hear your excuses."

Bucky's heart shattered, his world crumbling around him. "Sev, please. I'm so sorry. I never wanted to hurt you."

"Just go!" she screamed, her voice filled with anguish. "Get out!"

Bucky stood frozen, his mind reeling. He had lost her. The one person he had fought so hard to protect, to keep safe, now hated him. The weight of his actions pressed down on him, the guilt and regret overwhelming.

With a heavy heart, Bucky turned and left the room, his steps heavy and his shoulders slumped. He had done what he thought was right, but in the end, he had only caused more pain. As he walked away, he felt the crushing realization that he might never regain his daughter's trust or love.

Seven lay in her bed, her body wracked with sobs. She felt betrayed, lost, and alone. The man she had trusted more than anyone had killed her brother and then lied about it. The pain of that betrayal cut deeper than any wound, leaving her heart in tatters.

THE LONG DAYS TURNED TO LONG WEEKS and Seven was ten now, he papa missed her birthday and the tension between Seven and Bucky grew unbearable. She refused to look at him, refused to speak to him. She couldn't bring herself to forgive him, not yet. The wound was too fresh, the pain too raw.

Bucky continued to watch over her from a distance, his heart aching with every passing day. He knew he had made a terrible mistake, and he would do anything to make it right. But he also knew that it would take time, and he was willing to wait as long as it took.

"Sev, can we talk?" he asked, his voice gentle.

She didn't look at him, her eyes fixed on the ceiling. "I have nothing to say to you."

Bucky took a step closer, his heart heavy. "I know you're angry. You have every right to be. But I need you to understand why I did what I did."

Seven's eyes filled with tears, her voice trembling. "I don't care about your reasons. You killed my brother. You lied to me. How am I supposed to forgive that?"

Bucky's eyes glistened with unshed tears. "I know, Sev. I know I hurt you. But I did it because I thought it was the only way to keep you safe. One was going to kill me, and I couldn't let that happen. I couldn't leave you alone."

Seven's anger flared, her voice sharp. "So you killed him instead? You took away the only family I had left."

Bucky shook his head, his voice breaking. "No, Sev. You still have me. I'm still your family. I made a terrible mistake, but I'm still here. And I will do everything in my power to make it right."

"He was all I had left of them!" Seven shouted. "He was all I could remember!"

"Sev—"

Seven's tears fell freely, her heart aching. "How can you make it right? You can't bring him back. You can't undo what you've done."

Bucky took another step closer, his voice filled with determination. "No, I can't. But I can try to earn your trust again. I can be here for you, no matter what. I will never stop fighting for you, Sev. I will never stop loving you."

"You killed my brother and lied, papa."

"Sev..."

"Leave me alone." She said coldly.

"Sev, I... I need to ask for your forgiveness," he began, his voice trembling with emotion. "I know I hurt you. I know I lied to you, and I know I killed One. But I did it because I thought it was the only way to protect you."

Seven's eyes filled with tears, her hands clenching the bedsheets. "Papa, you betrayed me."

Bucky's heart ached at her words, but he reached out, taking her hands in his. "I know, Sev. I made a terrible mistake. But I love you more than anything in this world, and I would do anything to make it right."

Seven's tears spilled over, her body trembling with the weight of her emotions. "I don't know if I can ever forgive you," she whispered, her voice breaking.

Bucky's grip tightened on her hands, his eyes filled with desperation. "Please, Sev. I know I don't deserve it, but I need you to forgive me. I need you to know that everything I did, I did because I love you."

Seven's sobs intensified, her body shaking as she finally turned to look at him. "I'm so angry, Papa. I'm so hurt. I don't know what to do."

Seven hadn't felt emotions like this. Ever.

Bucky's heart shattered at the sight of her pain. He pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly as she cried. "Shh, it's okay, Sev. It's okay to feel that way. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere."

"Let me...let me go..." she said, pushing him off of her, but not succeeding. "Papa..."

"Sev, I'm sorry..." He said, still holding her tightly, not letting her go. He couldn't. He couldn't lose her.

Sev gave up fighting at this point she just clung to him, her tears soaking his shirt. "I don't forgive you," she sobbed, her voice muffled against his chest.

Bucky's own tears fell as he held her, his voice soothing and gentle. "Shh, it's okay. You don't have to forgive me right now. Just know that I'm here, and I love you."

Seven's sobs began to subside, her body relaxing slightly in his embrace. She buried her face in his shoulder, her breath hitching as she struggled to calm down. Bucky continued to hold her, his hand gently stroking her hair.

"I love you, Sev," he whispered, his voice filled with a deep, abiding love.

As the minutes passed, Seven's breathing evened out, her tears slowing. She remained in Bucky's arms, feeling the steady beat of his heart against her cheek. Despite her words, despite the anger and pain, she felt a sense of comfort in his presence.

"I don't forgive you," she repeated, her voice softer this time.

Bucky pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head. "I know, sweetheart. But I'll be here, waiting. And when you're ready, I'll be here."

Seven nodded, her eyes closing as she leaned into him. The pain was still there, but so was the love. It was a tangled mess of emotions, but in that moment, she felt a flicker of hope. Maybe, just maybe, they could find a way to heal together.

"I love you, Sev."

"Shut up, I hate you."

She didn't hate him.
