Ding!
Jeevika heard the sound of the elevator followed by sound of footsteps closing in. How would she not recognize it? It's been a routine for her now.
"Good morning Sir!"
"Good morning Jeevika, I still don't understand how you know it's me approaching and not anyone else! Anyways, come to my cabin in 5 mins to let me know of today's meetings and other things. You know the drill."
"Yes, Sir."
'How many times have I told her to call me by my name, but this woman just doesn't get it. Not even once did she budge. But one day she has to listen to me.'

He hears a knock on the door, followed by her voice asking his permission to enter.
"Come in Jeevika."
Jeevika keeps the tray on the table. And, as everyone would guess, the tray should consist of freshly brewed coffee, but that is not the case. This hero of hours has a different taste. So the tray has masala tea. Jeevika still remembers feeling surprised after knowing about her new boss's choice.
What Jeevika didn't know was that, it had been first time that Viren was having masala tea. It was his father who liked masala tea and had insisted that his son try it too. And Viren who still believes his parents' choice to be the best had then given it a try. And like always, his belief was affirmed. That moment itself Viren decided that coffee wasn't his favorite beverage anymore. That place had been captured by masala tea.
----------- Flashback -----------
"Viren, I know I have said it before, but I still need to say somethings. You've grown to be a fine son, my boy. I know you will take this company far and beyond but be careful and don't forget where you've come from. After all, however tall the tree gets, it's the roots that decide how long and how strong it stays. Not that you don't understand it but I still feel the need to tell you. Till now, you've worked for others gained a lot of experience, recognition and knowledge too but sometimes it's ok to compromise if it's something you can cope up with later, specially when someone's family is at stake. But a life lost is lost forever. Do you understand?"
"Yes, dad. I get it. I know I am responsible for thousands of families now. Of course I am terrified since it's the beginning and I have to fulfill so many expectations. But I know you will be there to guide me through the path. I can do this."
"Well, we can do something about your terrific feeling. This old man has learned some tricks in his life after all."
Naren smirked.
"Oh my king, would you please bless me with your knowledge?"
Viren bowed to him, his right hand folded at elbow in front of his waist, mimicking those people of ancient times.
"Hmmm...why not? You are my only prince after all."
Naren too got into his role, assuming thinking position.
"Why just talk? I'll show it to you directly. Then you will understand it's effect better."

"Jeevika, this is Viren, my son. And Viren -"
He said while patting Viren's shoulder with a proud look.
"Jeevik, your secretary cum daughter. I know. Nice to meet you Jeevika, I hope, you don't mind me calling you that."
He forwarded his hand for a handshake.
Until that moment, Jeevika would curse those heroines in wattpad novels who would get their tongues tied seeing the hit heroes. But she now understood the reality factor of those situations.
Seeing that just Viren's charming smile was enough to set her heart racing, she managed to reciprocate his actions with a gentle smile. She would rather not go for a verbal response with her current state of mind. But then, her mind argued, that this was her boss in front of her. And the least she could do is greet him formally. He may have called her by her first name, but she should not forget the boundaries between them.
"Hello, Sir."
Hearing her reply, he frowned but then immediately that expression was gone. Jeevika didn't notice it but Naren did.
'Strike one, my son.'
"You know Jeevika, dad always speaks of you. He tells me that the relationship you both share is also one of the reasons he enjoys working here and is stress free. I hope we can also share such a relationship. Since we're going to work closely, I do believe we can be friends atleast. You can call me Viren."
Jeevika was in a dilemma of how to make Viren understand without offending him. Of course she appreciated his offer and understood his pure intentions. But that was not something she wanted to do right now. Understanding her awkward situation, Naren decided to take matter in his own hands.
"Hey, that's cheating! I had to earn my title uncle from her. Why should you get it for free? Work hard and only then, you can ask for it."
Viren understood what the old man was doing and he also went with the flow.
"Oh? Then I will do it earlier than you did. What say Jeevika?"
"Hey, Don't bring her in between. She should not know the conditions I set for you. It should stay between us. Till then Jeevika, why don't you bring us your special cure?"
"Alright! I'll be back. What will Viren Sir have?"
"I see, since arrival of your new boss, you would not pay attention to me anymore."
He made a pouting face.
And being our poor innocent heroine, that Jeevika is, she fell for it.
"No uncle, I just-"
Seeing her panicked face, Naren couldn't help but smile.
"Of course I am kidding. I am glad you both are getting along well. Now that I know you are there with him, I can spend my life leisurely without worrying about our company."
Seeing her sigh in relief he continued,
"Are baba, bring me my medicine na!"
Just like she promised, she came back with a tray having 2cups of
masala chai.
"I will take your leave. I need to see to the arrangements of the meeting."
"Of course dear."
After, she left Viren declared his new love.
"You were right dad! Masala chai peene ka mazaa hi kuch aur hai."
"Tell me one thing son, sirf chai pasand aayi yaa, chai banane wali bhi?" (Did you like only the tea or the one who made it as well?)
"Dad!"
And all Viren could do was try to hide his blush, but couldn't.
---------------------------------------------------
Even, now as he drank it, Viren couldn't help but smile at the first of those many fond memories, that were associated with Jeevika.
Seeing him smile, Jeevika too smiled and couldn't ask the same question again.
"May I know the reason behind that smile?"
"Umhmm."
And like always, Viren just shook his head slightly, and smiled to himself, safeguarding the secret like he has been all these days.

So, how was it? I hope it wasn't disappointing. But I need a favor from you guys. If you notice any spelling mistake or any sort of grammatical error, do let me know.
So how was the first meeting of our fav VIRIKA?
Btw, would you like some sensual VIRIKA scenes? I thought they might spice up the story a bit and make it interesting too with the plotline I have in mind. So should I go forward with it or think of something else?
