Chapter nine
"Katsuki.." Todoroki started, breaking the building tension between them and especially the silence. "Why did you call the baby a parasite?" He curiously asked, taking a seat at the foot of the bed.
Katsuki looked down at his hands in his lap as he twirled his fingers around each other. "Because i can call it whatever the hell i want, not like it can hear me." He replied.
The two became quiet, and awkward silence falling on them, neither of them sure what to say for what seemed like forever.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?" Todoroki asked, standing up and pacing back and forth as he thought. "About the baby."
"Because it's none of your business." The blonde answered, causing the halfie to pause his pacing and look at him. He shot a small glare back annoyed with the whole conversation. "And it's still none of your business." He muttered.
Todoroki shook his head, an almost hurt expression on his face as he paced back and forth, something he did when he was overly stressed.
"Are my parents here?" Katsuki asked after a minute of listening to the halfies' soft muttering.
"Yes, I called your little curly haired friend so you'd have someone here when you woke since i wasn't planning on staying. He most likely called your parents."
Katsuki nodded as the awkward silence fell once again. It wasn't like he was obligated to tell the alpha about the baby nor did shoto have any rights to lecture him about what to call HIS baby.
"I'll take responsibility." Todoroki blurted out, breaking the silence and catching the blonde off guard.
"No!" Katsuki snapped his angry gaze on the halfie though it soon fell to an annoyed frown. "I can take care of it without you, I don't need your usless help."
Todoroki took a seat at the foot of the bed an annoyed look coming onto his face. "This isn't up for debate we're talking about an actual life! How can you be so sure you can look after it by yourself! It's my child too! Damn it!!" He said getting angrier.
"Just shut up! All you did was stick your dick in me!! That's all!! I don't want to hear it!! Especially from you!!" Katsuki snapped back his brows furrowing as he felt his anger bubbling up.
"Kat-"
"Keep my name out of your filthy mouth!" The blonde interrupted his fists clenching tightly and an icy glare on Todoroki.
"I think I'm gonna go!" Todoroki growled pushing himself up from the bed and walking out without glancing back at the blonde even once.
"Oi get back here!! I'm not done with you!!" Katsuki called but the halfie ignored him, walking out the door and shutting it behind him.
'Damnit' the blonde thought running his hands down his face. It seemed like he kept messing up. Was he making the right decision? He was more than sure he could take care of his child without the halfies help yet something inside him wanted nothing more than to have the alpha by his side, know he was there for their child. But even so he knew if the baby he was still growing presented as an alpha he couldn't teach it the proper characteristics that make up a good dignified alpha however he didn't want his child to be like Todoroki, gender or looks and definitely not personality, yet who was he kidding, todoroki always got his way. It'd been like that since the beginning and ever since he'd known him.
He was snapped out of his thoughts as he felt two pairs of arms wrap tightly around him, one pair belonging to his mother and the other to his father.
"Thank goodness you're alright." His mother said, the two practically suffocating him.
"What were you thinking!" Mitsuki said as she flicked Katsuki's forehead after he pushed the two off him.
"What do you want! I'm fine!" He said rubbing his hurt forehead. "Baby's fine too." He muttered his expression softening a little.
"You idiot!! You should've told us about that damn alpha!!" Mitsuki scolded placing her hands on her hips as she continued her angry rant.
Katsuki sighed looking to his father who was keeping a safe distance behind his mother. 'Why am I getting scolded' he thought looking up to his mother, not even listening to a word she was saying.
"Well!!?"
Katsuki shrugged unsure what she was going on about.
"You weren't even listening to me!" Mitsuki said throwing her hands up exasperated. "Don't you dare mess this up Katsuki! And don't just expect us to help when you get into shit!!"
"When I get into shit!!" Katsuki growled throwing the blankets off himself and standing up, towering over his mother who didn't even budge. "I deal with it myself!!!"
Mitsuki scoffed looking to the side as she folded her arms across her chest "We'll see how well that works out for you." She muttered turning her angry gaze onto him. "You don't have an alpha! you don't have a home! you can't stay at izuku's forever!! And that alp-"
"Enough!!" Katsuki snapped with an angry growl. He opened his mouth to say something more when a sharp stabbing pain erupted spreading through his abdomen. He doubled over in pain, his eyes squeezing shut as a hand held his hurting stomach and the other on the hospital bed to keep his balance.
"Katsuki!?" Mitsuki worriedly questioned grabbing onto his arm and helping him back onto the bed as she called for a doctor.
"Would you quit it, I'm fine." Katsuki groaned taking a few gasping breaths as his brain tried to register what just happened.
Masaru had quickly run off to find a doctor while Mitsuki was running her mouth trying to help the omega who just wanted some peace and quiet to figure out why his abdomen exploded in pain.
Though before he got the chance a doctor was tending to him and asking all sorts of questions.
"Does this hurt?" He asked pushing down a bit on Katsuki's stomach as a nurse got prepared to look at the baby.
Katsuki shook his head as he watched the doctor do what he was doing. He was feeling to make sure nothing was inflamed or off though it wasn't like the pain had lasted.
"Look, my kid is fine. The pain stopped and we just saw it not even an hour ago!." Katsuki impatiently said with a small roll of his eyes.
"I understand the fetus was healthy however random stabbing pain like you described could be some cause for worry." The doctor said giving the blonde a reassuring smile "but no need for concern just yet."
Katsuki felt a lump form in his throat as the thought that he hurt his baby flashed though his mind. 'Shit~" he thought trying to keep his nerves together.
"I know you just looked at the baby but I want to make sure you getting up and overexerting yourself like you did didn't stress the fetus out and send it into distress." He said quickly shutting the blonde up and continued with his examination.
Katsuki glanced over at his mother who was standing by his bedside her eyes fixated on the screen with a worried frown though her expression quickly changed once the small image of their grandchild appeared on the screen however this time in a different position than before.
"Doesn't seem to be anything wrong, fetus is healthy no bleeding of any kind." The doctor said after a minute of careful examination on the screen. "I would say the pain was nothing however if it happens again don't hesitate to either call your doctor or come in for a check up, for now just lay and rest."
Katsuki sighed but nodded his agreement, it wasn't like he wanted to feel that kind of pain again or actually hurt his baby, though it would be nice if his parents went home and left him alone.
"I assume these are your parents. I'd like to have a word with them." The doctor said glancing over at Masaru and Mitsuki. The two nodded as Katsuki merely gave a small scoff. 'What could he possibly need to talk to them for!' He thought trying to make it seem like he didn't care though he was curious.
"Whatever you have to say to them, you can say in front of me!" Katsuki said shooting a small glare at the doctor and his parents.
The doctor gave a sheepish smile as he rubbed the back of his neck. "It's nothing major, I just think I should inform them about some things." He said leading his parents out as he spoke, as if the blonde wouldn't notice.
Katsuki was left in the room by himself, set in a sour mood. 'Fucking prick' he thought laying back and getting comfortable in his bed as he waited less than patiently for his parents and doctor so he could demand they spit out what the doctor told them.
He stared out the large window in the room, his eyes finding the small gardens and little pathway good for a stroll when the hospital became too cramped.
He bought a hand up to his small baby bump, gently caressing his thumb over the fabric of his hospital gown, his mind blank of thoughts.
"You really are causing a lot of problems." He said under his breath, his crimson eyes trailing down to his hand and the baby still growing inside.
"Thank you Mr and Mrs bakugou, I'll contact you if anything happens or if I need something else."
Katsuki looked up at hearing the small group return, coming back into the room and his parents instantly coming to his bedside.
His mother shot him a disapproving look before her expression fell and she rested her hand on her sons thigh. "Listen Katsuki, me and your father both agree it's best if you terminate this pregnancy." She said not even an ounce of guilt in her voice as she said it.
Katsuki looked up at her, an angry and hurt look on his face. "What the hell did you just say!" He asked sitting up a bit more and his brows furrowing.
"I'm telling you to get rid of the thing!" Mitsuki snapped back an angry look coming onto her face as she put her hand on her hips. "You have no alpha, you don't have a good enough pay to raise a child and you'd hardly make for a good parent especially being so young!"
Katsuki couldn't believe what he was hearing, even more so from his mother of all people. "That 'thing' is my child!! So leave them the fuck alone!! I will not be getting rid of them, hell no!! Not now not ever!!!" Katsuki snapped back his fists clenching as anger engulfed him. "I don't need a fucking alpha!!! You and I both know damn well I can take care of them on my own and I will be the best fucking parent ever!!" He growled looking to his father with an ice cold glare. It felt like betrayal and it hurt so badly inside so much so that he could hardly hold back his tears.
"Don't you fucking use that tone with me young man!!! I am your mom and I'm not asking you, I'm demanding you get rid of it right fucking now!!" Mitsuki yelled exasperatedly as her whole demeanor darkened.
"Fuck no!!! Get the hell out of here!!! I don't want to ever!! And I mean ever! Hear those disgusting words from you again!!! I'm keeping my baby and that's final!!" Katsuki yelled, the doctor standing silently next to his father, a look of uncomfortable annoyance on his face as he tried to get the two to settle down and finally ushered Mitsuki out yelling all hell at her son.
"I love you Katsuki, even now I still love you." Katsuki's dad called before the door was closed behind the two, only the doctor remaining with him in the room.
"Your little freckled friend is still waiting outside you know." The doctor said after a moment of the peaceful almost blissful silence after all the yelling.
Katsuki only nodded as he found himself looking out the large window once again. "If my mother try's to come see me again don't let her in, I don't want to see her ever again!" He spat, set in an angry, dejected mood.
His doctor merely gave him a nod before slipping out, deku coming in a few seconds later. "Hi kacchan." He awkwardly greeted as he entered the room and dragged over a chair from the corner, setting it down next to the blonde's bed.
"What do you want deku!" Katsuki said his mood quite evident in his voice, if his upset expression didn't say everything already.
"I just wanted to check in on you." He innocently said a big almost comforting smile on his lips as he sat down in the chair, set in his usual bubbly mood.
"Yeah well I'm fine and the baby's okay." He muttered, the sour mood he'd been in slowly crumbling. Deku's smile seemed to only brighten, hearing the news. "Good, that's such a relief. How big are they now?" He beamed with a small hum.
"This big." Katsuki said turning his attention to the greenete as he widened his fingers to imitate the size, a proud look coming onto his face.
"That big already?" Deku happily asked leaning back in his chair with a warm smile spread across his lips.
Katsuki looked over the room, finding it was rather blank and depressing if not for the delightful sun light that shawn through the thin white curtains.
"Your being discharged a bit later in the evening. I'll have dinner and the bed made up so you can rest when we get back." Deku informed, fiddling with his fingers as he spoke.
Katsuki rolled his eyes though reluctantly nodded. "I don't need to rest im fine." He muttered under his breath.
Deku merely gave a small amused chuckle with a shake of his head. "I know." He said.
...
Later in the evening Katsuki was taken back to Deku's apartment and made comfortable on the couch while Deku finished up making dinner.
"Where's the cat?" Katsuki asked looking around for the white haired feline though he couldn't find her.
"She's probably sleeping on the bed." Deku answered, stirring some noodles in a pot before he went to chop the carrots and celery. "After dinner I think it would be best if we headed to bed."
Katsuki nodded as he pulled out his phone to check the time finding it was almost five and also seeing he had a few messages and even a missed call from the CEO which he ignored, not in the mood to deal with the alpha.
Within a few minutes the two were sitting down together eating the soup and buns Deku had prepared, both silent as they ate.
"Something has been on my mind." Deku said, breaking the silence and catching the blonde's attention quite easily. "Hm?" Katsuki asked as he broke the white bread apart.
"It's just have you thought about what you're going to do after the baby's born, this place won't be suitable for much longer after." Deku said, before taking a bite of his soup and waiting for an answer from the blonde.
Katsuki shrugged downing his soup and wiping his mouth. "I don't know, I only just made the decision to keep the baby." He said with a small sigh. Deku clearly didn't like the answer but remained quiet and finished his food, the mood a bit heavy around them.
After the nice dinner, Deku cleaned the dishes they used while Katsuki got ready for bed, the greenete only joining him after he was done, he quickly stripped down and slipped into his side of the bed next to the blonde. "Goodnight kacchan." He said reaching over and turning his lamp off. Surrendering the room into darkness besides the small night light resting on the greenetes dresser.
Katsuki could only think about his day, the arguments of his mother and boss the fear he felt as he thought his baby might have been harmed by his own actions. With a heavy sigh erased his head of thoughts. He could hear Deku's peaceful breathing from his side, sending some comfort through the blonde in knowing he wasn't alone, he had Deku and he had his baby a fact he couldn't deny. His crimson eyes closed shut quickly falling into dreamland.
