Chapter five
Shoto sat comfortably on the light gray couch, finishing up his work and well aware Katsuki was just on the other side of the wall behind him, peacefully asleep all tucked in and cozy.
The halfie got up from his seat and closed his laptop, figuring he better go join the blonde before he woke up and saw that he wasn't beside him anymore, having escaped to do some work a little bit after the omega had fallen asleep.
He quietly walked into his room going over to his side of the bed and sitting down with a small tired yawn. He glanced over at the sleeping blonde, watching him lightly breathe into his lungs, his chest rising and sinking so softly. He studied the calm and peaceful expression he wore quite opposite to the usual scowl he had on.
He kicked his slippers off before he moved the blankets up, slipping in and scooting a bit closer to the omega before he shifted to get comfortable.
He laid still and quiet, watching the blonde from his side of the bed, feeling the urge to tease him a little but he pushed it down not wanting to make this sweet moment perverted.
He kept his mismatched eyes on the blonde's face, finding it cute the way his nose twitched a little when he gently blew on his face.
He again softly blew into the blonde's face, letting out a small chuckle when his cute little omega scrunched up his nose, his brows furrowing for only a moment before his face relaxed, going back to the calm peaceful look he had on before.
He repeated the action several times, watching every little reaction he got before crimson red met heterochromatic sky blue and moonlight gray.
The two held each other's gaze for only a moment before Katsuki gave a tired yawn, closing his eyes again. The little omega shifted closer to the alpha, resting his head against the halfie's well built chest.
Shoto almost immediately wrapped his arms around the blonde, holding him close. The blonde released calm subtle pheromones and purr like hums every so often. It soothed the alpha a little, making him feel drowsy and cozy.
His mismatched eyes closed and his hold around the omega loosened a little but not much as his body relaxed.
The struggle to stay conscious soon ended as Todoroki fell into a deep sleep, his face buried in the blonde's fluffy hair.
-One Week Later-
Katsuki stared endlessly at the gray wall of the clinic. The words ringing in his head on repeat, like a curse or bad omen.
"Congratulations Mr Bakugou you're pregnant!!" His doctor exclaimed though her smile faded once she saw the horrified look on the young adult's face.
There must be some mistake, he couldn't be… "I'm… pregnant!" He almost couldn't believe this was happening. No it was just a nightmare, a never ending bad dream.
"No! There has to be some mistake I'm not!!.. I can't be!..." His words trailed off in a desperate plea. There was just a misunderstanding.
The doctor shook her head with a sigh, her once cheerful demeanor crumbling to almost disappointment. "No mistake, I'm sorry but you're expecting. I can schedule a time for an abortion but I can't make any promises that you'll be able to get one." She said,
…
Katsuki sat silently on the park bench just a few minutes from the clinic he'd been at. The cold air nipping at his exposed hands and face.
He'd needed to sit down or he might've clasped from over thinking, something that made his head hurt and his knees feel weak.
"Damn it!!!" He angrily yelled, forcefully chucking a small rock he'd picked up on his walk into the bushes. Throwing things did seem to make him feel better, too bad he couldn't just throw all the emotions swimming around in him now.
"Why'd you have to exist and ruin everything!?" He complained out loud, he was talking to the little parasite inside. Yes to him, his baby was just a parasite feeding off him to survive which wasn't completely false.
"No! no! no! not with that dumbasses kid!" he whined running his hands down his face in frustration as he thought of this parasite's father. The one and only CEO. Todoroki shoto.
He should've seen this coming, his sickness and sensitivity to his boss's pheromones, it was obvious and yet he still refused to believe it even after being told straight to his face.
'But I was on the pill, I've been careful' he thought, frowning down at his hands that were folded neatly on his lap, replaying the events of the times he'd been with the halfie, leading up to this day in his head.
He wasn't all that surprised to find that him and the alpha had fooled around nearly everyday whether it be merciless teasing or relieving him of his clothes but they were using protection and even with him on the pill it wouldn't have mattered if there was a tear or time they forgot a condom and yet here he was, frustrated and knocked up with his boss's baby.
It wasn't adding up. He couldn't connect the dots, it all was too confusing and made his head hurt the more he thought about his whole situation.
The next question he asked himself was what was he supposed to do now. He couldn't tell Todoroki and face the possibility that he might be fired and made a fool out of. More importantly, what would his parents think of him, a lowly omega who messed around with someone he shouldn't have and got pregnant. A disgrace better suited to be alone the rest of his life.
He let out a sigh knowing it was wrong of him to blame his baby when in reality it was all his own fault. His baby didn't ask to be here and deserved a lot better than what he could offer.
With a twitch of one of his fluffy foxes ears he stood up, shoving his hands into his jacket pockets to warm them up as he made his way back to his car.
'Why'd I have to listen to that damn bastard and go to the clinic' he thought remembering how the halfie had been too persistent in having him checked on and looked over by a doctor. He had the sixty recent calls from the alpha to prove it.
He knew his boss would ask how the visit went and pester him until he knew what was wrong. He also knew he couldn't tell him the truth but it would be pointless to lie, the halfie knew him too well and could read him like a book only leaving him with one option, to say nothing.
He wasn't sure how long he could keep his mouth shut or if he could at all, but for the sake of his relationship and job he would have to keep it together and hide the truth until he figured out what he should do.
Once back in his car he blasted the heaters, feeling a chilly shiver run down his whole body. He brought a hand up, resting it against his still flat stomach, a deep thoughtful frown on his lips.
'I'll start showing soon, within the next couple weeks' he thought, getting uncomfortable the more he pictured himself with a baby bump waddling around the office.
Even if he did start to show he was certain he could hide it with a loose t-shirt, the only problem would be getting Todoroki to keep his hands to himself and even if he did somehow keep his clothes on he could only hide his bump with baggy clothes for so long, assuming he did keep the baby.
He kept in subtle thought as he drove himself home, since he had the day off he figured he might as well spend it at home napping or something.
Putting his pregnancy aside, what would he do with a baby who needs practically all his time and devotion. He would be on his own from the minute he gave birth until either his secret was found out or he decided to tell someone which seemed extremely unlikely.
Within a few minutes he pulled into the empty driveway of his house. He wasn't used to not seeing his mum's car parked in its place since he would usually get home late from work, well after his mum got home from her job at the flower shop, working as a florist.
He got out of his car with a small groan, heading inside and out of the cold autumn air in a hurry as he didn't like the cold all that much.
He slipped his shoes and heavy coat off, leaving his shoes by the front door and placing his coat on the couch. He then sat down next to his coat, turning on the TV and scrolling through his movie options, feeling in the mood to watch a horror, maybe being scared out of his mind would end his useless trail of thoughts. It wasn't worth worrying over things like hiding his baby bump or telling anyone when he was sure he wasn't going to keep it long enough for that to happen.
He found an interesting looking show and started it. It was boring at first, nothing too exciting besides severed limbs and a lot of screaming, however as it continued he became invested in watching all the gory details even starting to get a little uneasy with all the blood and creepy music.
He was beyond glad when it was over, only reminded why he hated horror movies so much. Too much gore and weird stuff for his liking though he wouldn't deny he was set on his nerves and lightly shaking. He swallowed hard and reminded himself it was just a movie and demanded that his heart stop beating so fast before he gave himself an unnecessary heart attack.
His mind started to drift, thinking of Todoroki and the pleasant night they'd spent together wrapped up in each other's arms and soaked in each other's scent by morning. Even a week later he could still smell the halfie on his shirt. The scent was faint and barely there though he knew too well what the alpha smelled like without needing his scent near.
If it wasn't for this damn baby he would've cleaned his clothes of the alpha's scent already but the soft smell of mint and cherries seemed to sooth his sickness and especially the little spurts of pain he sometimes felt in his stomach.
His mind drifted back to the little parasite inside, a small part of him deep inside felt almost proud he was carrying Todoroki's baby. He tried to picture the ice cold CEO expressing his overwhelming happiness through a stream of never ending tears as the blonde told him he would be having a baby.
He'd pick up the omega by his fine waist and twirl him around before pulling him in for a bone crushing hug and finally as the realization set in he'd quickly let go of the omega and enquire if he was alright from the tightness of the hug.
The blonde couldn't help the small smile that creeped up onto his lips as he pictured the whole scene in his head. It was sweet and almost made him want to run to Todoroki like an idiot and tell him everything, get it all off his chest all at once.
But no matter how much he wanted to, he knew his boss wouldn't have the reaction he pictured, the reaction he wanted.
He let out a tired sigh as he picked up his phone and went through his gallery, looking through all the photos he'd taken over the years. He found multiple of the sunset and flowers but one in particular caught his attention. It was on his last birthday, mina and a few of his old high-school classmates threw some dumb party for him and practally dragged him from the safety and comfort of his own home to go out drinking with them. The picture was of Deku holding up his middle finger as he chugged a can of beer, it wasn't Deku that caught his attention but the man sitting behind deku.
The man seemed familiar, bulky, clean shaven, fluffy white hair but the thing that stood out the most was the large burn on his right cheek just shy of his cold blue eyes.
Wait… Burn mark?
Katsuki felt his throat tighten as he thought 'is he who Todoroki's father was talking about?' He wasn't sure but it felt like this stranger was staring right into his soul itself. He felt a cold shiver run down his spine as he turned his phone off. 'It's just my imagination, plenty of people get burned im just over thinking'
Sure that's what he told himself but how could he be sure, he didn't really want to bother his boss's father with this if he was wrong but then there was the chance that he was right.
He took a deep breath, telling himself to calm down, he was definitely just being paranoid. He got up from his spot on the couch going into the kitchen to make himself some food, mostly just to take his mind off of everything.
Nothing some good old chocolate milk couldn't fix. He poured himself a glass of the sweet drink before he leaned against his counter slowly sipping it. To his surprise he felt his nerves settle down and drowsiness kicked in.
Damn, he didn't realize he was so tired. His head bobbed a little and the glass of freshly poured chocolate milk nearly slipped from his grasp. Snapping awake he chugged his milk before putting the glass in the sink, wiping at his mouth.
He laid down on his couch, curling into himself and trying to maintain the warmth still left on it. He let out a small hum, his eyes closed and his breathing slowing down as he was being pulled into the sweet land of sleep.
As he was about to slip off into slumber when he caught the whiff of…
smoke.
