Chapter 6 iAm So Frustrated

Keeley sat in front of her laptop and rubbed her hands together with an evil glint in her eye. "Time for a little payback, Casanova." On her way home from work, she had concocted a plan to humiliate Talon. She was targeting the two things Shawn said he would care about. Keeley just hoped there wouldn't be any backfire from it.

She logged onto a website that would send an anonymous text message to any cell phone she wanted. Keeley entered in Talon's phone number and typed a message.

Hey baby! Don't beat yourself up over last night. Lots of guys can't get it up. Erectile dysfunction is more common than you think. I hope the penis pump you bought will help your "problem". No hard feelings! XOXO

Talon's cell phone beeped with the message and Keeley quickly opened it. Earlier, she had looked through his contacts and saw he had a group called "Football Bros". There were about thirty-five numbers and she forwarded the fake text to the whole group. Then a minute later, she sent another text to all of them, pretending it was from Talon.

Shit! FW that by accident. She's just joking around. Haha. That really didn't happen. I swear. Totally banged the chick.

'Let's see how you explain that to all your friends,' Keeley thought with a grin. She had purposely made him sound guilty so the other football players would believe the first text. Keeley turned the phone on vibrate and threw it in her desk drawer, not wanting to be near it when Talon realized what happened.

Keeley skipped downstairs with Tucker right on her heels with a squeaky toy hanging out of his mouth. Her dad was in the family room, sitting in his recliner chair, watching television. She flopped down on the couch and grabbed the toy in Tucker's mouth.

"Hey kiddo. How was your first day at work?" her dad asked her with mild interest, his eyes not straying from the television screen.

"It was okay. Pretty hectic," Keeley admitted while playing tug-of-war with Tucker. She decided against mentioning her problem with Van. If her father thought Keeley was being untreated unfairly, he would up in arms to protect her. However, Keeley didn't want anyone fighting her battles for her. She needed to handle Van on her own.

A commercial came on and her father turned his full attention on her. "Maybe you shouldn't be working there. School is starting soon and you don't need the distraction," her father suggested.

"I need the money Dad. Europe won't pay for itself," she reminded him. Tucker finally submitted the toy and Keeley threw it across the room and down the hall. The dog bounded after it, his tail wagging vigorously.

He sighed loudly. "I don't like it Keeley. Two eighteen-year-old girls alone in Europe? It's like a missing persons report waiting to happen." Her parents had been against the idea from the beginning. Last night, Keeley fought long and hard for them to finally accept her plans. The only way they agreed to the trip was if they had a detailed itinerary beforehand and if she promised to call everyday.

"We'll be fine," she cajoled. "Stop being such a worrywart." Tucker brought his toy back to her and she threw it again.

Her father shot her a look. "It's my job to worry. I'm your father," he said gruffly. "I'd feel better if Zach went with you."

Keeley rolled her eyes. "What's Zach going to do?" Keeley asked with exasperation. "Carry our bags?"

"He'd protect you!" her father protested.

Keeley scoffed. "He'd be too busy flirting with Italian girls. Besides, I can take care of myself." She looked around for Tucker but didn't see any sign of him.

Frustrated, her father ran his hands through his hair. He thought a few moments before saying, "How about I make you a deal? I'll pay for your trip if Zach accompanies you."

She leaned forward and looked her dad in the eye. "Do you really think it's a good idea to set Zach loose in Europe with no adult supervision?" her tone indicating her doubt.

Her father paused at her words. "Hm...I see your point," he grudgingly admitted. He crossed his arms and sighed, looking unhappy with the prospect of his only daughter travelling without protection.

Keeley leaned back in her seat and discreetly turned her face away, hiding her smile. She knew by her dad's sigh that she had won her argument.

"Oh stop smiling," he said grumpily. "Can't you let your old man sulk without rubbing it in his face?"

Keeley chuckled. "Whatever you want, old man."

Suddenly, the front door was slammed shut and Zach trudged in looking tired in his dirty football uniform. He glanced at their father and said a brief hello before walking to his room, completely ignoring Keeley.

"You two still not talking?" her father asked with a frown.

"What makes you think that?" she asked dryly. Besides their argument last night about the car, Zach hardly talked to her. In fact, he barely acknowledged her presence.

"Maybe you should be the bigger person and break the ice," her father suggested with a pointed look.

"No way!" Keeley exclaimed. "I didn't do anything wrong. He should be the one apologizing to me."

"You know, it would go a long way to prove your maturity. And one needs maturity if they want to be allowed to go to Europe," he said innocently.

"Are you blackmailing me?" Keeley asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Blackmail is such a harsh word. I like to think of it as..," her father trailed off, trying to find the right description, "...creative parenting."

Keeley glared at her father. "Just because you call it a different name, doesn't mean the implication is different."

"I'm so happy you retained some of that knowledge you learned in school," he said smiling and turned his attention back to the television screen.

Keeley exhaled loudly, demonstrating her objection to the idea before stalking off to Zach's room. She knocked lightly before entering. Zach was sitting in front of his desk, typing on his laptop. He glanced up at her and scowled. "What do you want?"

She went over to his bed and sat on the edge. "Can't I say hi to my twin?" she asked lightly, hoping her words would soften him up.

"Go away Keeley," Zach ordered.

She mentally sighed. If his death glares was any indication of how he felt, there wouldn't be a happy reconciliation for a while. "No. Not until you talk to me," she told him.

His jaw clenched in irritation at her refusal. "There's nothing to talk about," he said through gritted teeth.

Keeley rolled her eyes. Her twin was more stubborn than a mule. "Really? This is the way you want to play it?"

Zach's only response was to glare at her before blasting his music, preventing her from speaking further. Keeley mentally rolled his eyes at his childish behavior. "So much for being the bigger person," she muttered to herself as she marched back to her room.

She stopped abruptly when she saw Tucker growling at her desk. "Tucker?" she called confused. "What's wrong boy?" The dog growled again, his hackles raised. Keeley cautiously walked over and heard a faint buzzing sound. She sighed in relief when she realized what it was. "Tucker, you goof. It's just a phone," she reprimanded while plucking the cell phone out of the drawer.

Keeley yelped in surprise when she saw thirty plus text messages and voicemails. Warily, she started going through the texts, leaving Talon's for last. The messages from his friends ranged from malicious teasing to disbelief to amusement. She was about to open Talon's texts when lo and behold, Casanova himself called.

She took a deep breath before answering. "Hello?"

"Penis pump?" he whispered angrily without preamble. "Penis pump?!" he asked again, his voice rising to a shout.

"Talon-" Keeley began but he cut her off.

"I don't need a penis pump!" he roared, his voice deeper than usual.

Keeley snickered at his statement. Obviously her plan worked. "Well good for you," she said sweetly. Keeley paused then went on. "Although, I don't really understand why you are telling me this..." she trailed off, making it seem like she was confused.

"You...you..you!" Talon sputtered, his anger getting in the way of his process to form coherent sentences.

"Talon, are you okay?" Keeley asked with mock concern. She could hear him breathing heavily into the phone. "Did you get hit too hard at football practice today?"

Talon growled in frustration. "You did this to me," he hissed. "Don't deny it. I know it was you."

"Did what?" Keeley asked innocently. She was grinning from ear to ear as she imagined fumes coming out of Talon's ears.

"The penis pump! And the erecti-" Talon stopped yelling mid-sentence. "You know what!" he whispered furiously.

Keeley clamped a hand over her mouth as she laughed in amusement. He couldn't even say the word. She got her laugh under control before speaking. "You're not making any sense Talon," she said, being purposefully obtuse. Keeley heard him muttering under his breath, saying he didn't need a penis pump. "Listen, if you are having difficulties performing-"

Talon cut her off again. "My penis works perfectly fine!" he yelled at her. Keeley heard laughing in the background and then Talon shouting a couple curse words before a door shut. There was a moment of silence before Talon hissed, "I don't have a problem."

"I know there's a lot of pressure on males these days but honestly, it's okay," she said in a soothing tone.

"I. Don't. Have. A. Problem," his voice betraying his antagonism.

"Oh Talon," Keeley sighed with sadness. "The first step of denial is admitting you have a problem." With as much sympathy as she could muster, she said, "And I promise you, one day a girl will love you for you. Erectile dysfunction and all."

"Why you-" Talon started.

"It's okay," Keeley interrupted. "I know you need time to process everything. But remember, when you're ready to talk, I'm just a phone call away." Before he could say anything in response, she ended the call. Keeley stared at the phone and burst out laughing. She wished she could have seen his face! The cell phone rang but Keeley ignored it, knowing Talon would just scream at her. After three more ignored calls, he switched to text message.

*Sigh* You are incredibly annoying and irritating, you know that? –T

She smiled. He sounded defeated.

Point. Set. Match.

Keeley with the win.

Why thank you. I learned from the best :) How are those condoms working out? Are you even able to use them now that you're "problem" went public? –Keeley

Ahhh. I see what this is about baby doll ;) –T

Keeley read the text suspiciously. He was calling her babydoll. That wasn't a good sign. He only called her that when he was feeling cocky and in control of the situation.

You mean the fact that you used MY money to buy condoms? –Keeley

I should have realized this sooner. You're just jealous. You did this little prank so girls would stay away from me. -T

Keeley stared at the phone in disgust. 'Why that self-obsessed, narcissist, pretentious, conceited-'

The phone beeped again indicating another message.

Don't worry baby doll, you'll get a chance to see what the big hype is about ;) –T

Keeley let out a frustrated scream. The boy was like Teflon! Nothing ever stuck to him! No matter what kind of insult she said or prank she pulled, he deflected it like it was nothing.

I am not that desperate! And you are not that lucky! –Keeley

I think you just threw down a challenge. Game on, Keeley. Game on. -T
