Chapter 3
He hadn't ment for this to happen. All he was doing was following the tug to a new key when he stumbled upon a couple villains. The tug was strong, telling him that the key was either near or on the villains. One of the villains was covered in melted or warped gold armor and when the villain turned and spotted him, Izuku saw the key he was looking for. He couldn't tell which one it was, only that it was one of the 13 zodiac keys.
"What's this brat doin here?" The gold wearing villain snarled, alerting his two companions.
Thinking fast Izuku pulled out Leo's key and summoned him. "Open gate of the lion, Leo" Leo appeared just as one of the villains charged.
The three villains were stunned at Leo's appearance to giving Leo the chance to strike first. It wasn't hard for Leo to knock them out with his regulus impact. Once the three were down for the count, Izuku went over to the gold covered villain and pried the key away. When the key finally came free he chocked down a sob at the state it was in, bent and warped the way the villain had wanted it to be. He held the key tightly to his chest and cried out for the spirit. Leo placed a comforting hand on the boy's shoulder before giving Izuku a tight hug. It didn't stop the tears but did help ease the pain Izuku felt.
That's when he felt it. A soft feeling was expanding in his hands. He was released from the hug and he opened his clasped hands to see a gold light illuminating the key. Suddenly the light expanded and engulfed Izuku and Leo.
His eyes had been shut to protect them from the bright light but once they opened he was in awe. From all the stories he's heard from Virgo and Leo, he knew this was the spirit world but even then it blew away any and all expectations he had for the place. It was magical just being there.
"Welcome child of the stars." A booming voice echoed louder than All Might or Endeavour could ever hope to achieve. "Your tears of grief have allowed us to repair Aries key so she may continue on." Suddenly a female figure appeared. She had small horns like a ram and a dress that looked like it was made of soft pink wool.
"Thank you master. I was sure I wasn't going to be able to see my friends again." Aries spoke in a soft tone and have a low bow.
"Master?" Izuku questioned, looking at Leo to try gain an idea of what was going on.
"Aries has requested to serve you." The booming voice returned.
"Oh you mean like a contract? I don't mind but I don't want them to serve me, I want them to be my friends!" Izuku declared.
The booming voice seemed to smile as Aries newly remade key appeared before Izuku. "Very well. As a thank you for as saving Aries, I grant you time in this realm." The voice then vanished and he could no longer feel it's presence.
Finally he looked around and saw many of the different spirits. He spotted Virgo chatting to some lady with scales, a large pink robot teddy bear a little ways away. Even Plue was there dancing around with several others that looked almost like him.
"Master, would you like me to show you around?" Aries asked.
"Sure, but could you call me Izuku. I don't want to be your master, I'd rather be your friend."
"Of course, Izuku." Aries smiled before taking him around to see all the different sights and meet different spirits. Virgo had joined them on the tour while Leo had to leave to speak to the Spirit King. Eventually the tour came to an end and it was getting dark in the spirit world.
"I'll take you back to the human world. Just be warned that time works differently here." Leo said after returning from his chat. Izuku didn't get the chance to ask how differently as another flash if gold enveloped him.
They had reappeared in the same alley where they had caught the villains. Thankfully the villains were gone. Nothing else seemed to have changed much. Exiting the alley Leo bid him a farewell before leaving for the spirit world. Izuku kept thinking back to what the spirit had said about time but couldn't place what that had meant. He walked down the street towards home when something dropped in front of him. Jumping back he gasped in fright before realising that the something was a someone and that someone was Eraserhead. Before any fan boying could take place the underground hero spoke.
"Are you Midoriya Izuku?" He nodded, astonished that a hero knew his name. "Come with me. You've made a lot of people worried about you."
"What do you mean?" He was only gone for a couple hours right?
The hero sighed. "People tend to worry when an eleven year old goes missing for two months."
"Two... months..." Izuku whispered. That couldn't be right he was only gone a couple hours, how did that turn into two months? It wasn't possible Eraserhead had to be lying. But what would the hero get from lying to him?
"Oi. Midoriya you need to breathe."
But if he was gone for two months, what happened to his mum? Had she been alright? He hoped she hadn't worried about him too much. And what about school? Has he been expelled for too many days off?
"Detective, this is Eraserhead. I've found Midoriya but he's having a panic attack. I need you to call his mother. I'll try calm him down and get him to you in the meantime."
What was Kacchan going to say? Would he even care or was he going to be glad he'd been gone? Would that mean he's going to be am Very now? Had it really been two months or was everyone just playing some trick on him?
"Izuku. I need you to breath."
Someone was talking go him but he could understand. Who would be talking to him?
"Eraser - head?" Izuku gasped out.
"That's right. Can you breath?"
He didn't bother replying verbally but rather focused on getting air in and then out again. In then out. In then out. His thought became less over bring and his head less cloudy with every deep breath till everything felt normal again.
"Alright Midoriya. I'm going to take you to see your mum and answer some questions. Is that okay?" Eraserhead asked.
He nodded once more, not trusting his voice just yet. Eraserhead ended up walking Izuku to the station where his mother and a plain looking man in a trench coat were waiting for them.
"Izuku! My baby! Please don't do that again." His mother cried as she pulled him into a tight embrace.
"I'm sorry mama! I didn't know! I thought it was only going to be for a few hours." He sniffed before joining in the cry fest.
It had taken several minutes before they both calmed down enough they were escorted to a private room for an interview.
"Now Ms Midoriya. If it is okay with you I would like to ask your son some questions about what happened."
"I don't mind detective." She sniffed. "I'm just glad my baby is home safe."
The detective nodded before turning to Izuku. "Now Midoriya. I'm detective Tsukachi. I have been working with the help of your mum and a couple hero's to try and locate you. Now that you have been found, we need to know exactly what happened."
Izuku nodded to show that he understood.
"Can you tell me why you went after Amphibilad, Gold Knight, and Tempustime?" The detective asked and he screwed his face up in confusion. "We found three villains knocked unconscious and they all told us that they thought someone was following them and the you come along then a man comes out of nowhere and knocks them out."
"Oh them. I wasn't following them. The villain that was coveted in gold had something I was looking for and was tracking with my quirk. I didn't know it was attached to the villain till I saw it and they saw me." Izuku explained. The detective, bit sending a lie wrote this down.
"So what were you tracking?"
Izuku pulled out Aries' key puts it on the table. "My quirk requires keys like this to activate and I can summon spirits with them. It means I have a connection with the keys so if I'm within a certain range I can find them."
"Do you mind demonstrating this?" The detective asked more for his curiosity then the report.
Izuku nodded and pulled out Plue's key. "Open gate of the canis minor, come nikola" He chanted and out came plue. The detective did his best not to look lovely surprised but ultimately lost when Plus started his wobbly little dance.
