Going to the Past
"You can show me where Igneel is?" Natsu looked at Ryan with wide eyes. "Well what are you waiting for then?!"
"Actually, I meant just.... what happened. I can show you where as well, but it won't be any help." Ryan told Natsu, pulling out his celestial keys. "You two just need to come with me."
"Can I come too?" Happy said, running after us.
"I'm sorry but this wouldn't work with an exceed. I've already tried." Ryan said. "Otherwise I would let you go."
"Oh..."Happy said in a sad tone.
"Sorry Happy." I told him. "Why don't you go find Carla and Wendy and hang out with them for a bit until we get back?"
"Alright..." Happy said still seeming a bit sad.
Natsu and I followed Ryan into the forest, all talking and catching up with Ryan.
Eventually, he just led us to the middle of nowhere.
"Why are we in the middle of nowhere?" Natsu asked.
"So nobody can see us." Ryan told us. "Also, this is close to where I would need to be to show you what happened." Ryan started looking through is keys to find a a blue key with a clock on it.
"Gate of time travel, open!" Ryan swung his key and a blue light came around us. Suddenly, we were in a completely different place.
The place he brought us to looked like a farm, surrounded by woods. The farm looked unkempt, with weeds growing around the crops planted there, and the crops and weeds looked dried out.
"Wow this looks like it was a bad planting season." I pointed out. "Where exactly are we?"
"We're about four miles away from the place Igneel and the others disappeared, six days beforehand.
"Why six days? And why four miles?" Natsu asked.
"Well, when Celes was gone, the people who own this farm took me in." Ryan said. "So we'll be here for a few days, go see what happened to our dragons, come back, travel to about three seconds after we left and it will be like we were never gone."
"But why six days?" Natsu asked. "Why not two or three?"
"Because there's a lot more about all this you don't know yet." Ryan told him.
"Ryan!" I heard a woman yell from the edge of the field. "Who the heck are these two?"
"These are some old friends of mine, Lucy and Natsu." Ryan told her calmly as she got closer. The woman looked pretty young, like she was somehwhere between late twenties to mid thirties. She had black shoulder length hair, and her eyes were so similar to Natsu's it was scary. She had a figure similar to Erza's, except slightly skinnier.
"Why are they here? Did you bring them from the future or something?"
"Well... yes." Ryan told her. "Natsu is a dragon slayer like me, and the dragon who raised him was pretty close to Celes, so him and I were kind of close growing up."
"And Lucy?" The woman asked Ryan.
"Lucy? Well, remember when I told you about that girl I lived next to in the future when i was little?" Ryan asked. "This is her."
"Well, as long as they won't be here more than a few days I don't mind them here." The woman smiled kindly at us, which seemed like a complete change in attitude. "But don't you dare go off and try to kill a dragon again. You almost died last time!"
"Oh come on, if I really need to I can just open my time travel gate and escape again." Ryan said. "Besides, I didn't just run off to kill a dragon. He attacked Celes and Igneel!"
"And if they couldn't have handled the dragon, what made you think you could on your own? That silly key of yours? The one that you've said time and time again won't open anymore?"
"I'm a dragon slayer for a reason! I've been able to take on a dragon that Celes couldn't take on before!"
"I don't care. I think of you the same as my own child and I don't want you out there being that wreckless!" She said.
"Alright, Emily. I won't go kill dragons." Ryan told her. "And if a dragon attacked us, Natsu's here as well. He can help if something goes wrong."
"Hey I just came here to find out what happened to Igneel, not help kill dragons!" Natsu yelled
"I'm not saying you did. I'm saying you could at least help if a dragon attacks us." Ryan said, shrugging off Natsu's yelling. "Even though I'm a dragon slayer, it's difficult for me to be able to even hurt one. That's why I nearly got killed by one at one point. We aren't going to just go and attack dragons."
"If you can hardly even hurt a dragon, then how are you even a dragon slayer?"
"One of my keys can basically capture dragons." Ryan explained. "The problem is I've only been able to open it once."
"When?" I asked Ryan.
"I'll show you when we get to it."
