It was the day of the ball. Me and Em were so excited. The unusually empty corridors and halls were now bustling with people who were decorating and creating things on the main hall.

Multiple times I saw Airen and Daemeon helping with the work and working together. Whenever the king Faerunduil passed by, the elves worked ten times harder. Everyone was so busy. Lady Aquailean was mannering up every ladies, GentleElves, caterers, musicians and her brother. 'Aqua stop. I know how to behave in a formal situation. And fine I won't fight and insult the wood elves' he said annoyed.

I was happy that Emily was talking to me again. Emily was happily chatting how she was planning on tying her hair and said jumping excitedly 'I am certainly trying to impress the wood elves. They are really hard to impress as far as I've heard. Oh and I will be the first to try all the sweets on the table', 'Not if I can help it. The sweets are calling out to me in the kitchen. Hey...how bout we sneak to the kitchen and pick some of the sweets' I said.

'Are you insane...? YES!!! But hurry up we have to meet Luthiann at the training ground after that' she said pulling me to the kitchen. I don't think anyone noticed us running to kitchen and scooping up a handful of sweets. We both giggled and ran to the empty ground behind the study classes. We sat there under a thick bush and started eating the flavourful treats. 'How do you think the elves make these treats?' she said waving a tart at my face and digging the jam out of its centre.

'How am I supposed to know' I asked but continued slowly 'But I won't deny that I would love to know their recipe'. 'Do you think those elves would share their recipe with us?' she asked. 'I don't think so. They'd probably think humans are quite beneath in knowing the recipes of the high elves' I said jokingly. 'True' said Emily and both of us laughed.

Emily jumped up after finishing all the treats and said 'Deameon had taken me to a small library yesterday to give me a couple of books about Elvish Dynasty and all that stuff... Do you wanna join me there?'. 'Yeah sure. What else do I have to do now' I said and followed her.

We walked through a big spiral staircase that was twisted and turned with real vines and flowers were blooming everywhere. 'It looks so fresh here' I said admiringly. 'I know right? But I said the same thing to Deameon but he wasn't pleased at all' she said. 'Oh really? What'd you say to him' I asked surprised. ' I said "Deameon this place looks way.... beautiful and fresh compared to the other place", Thats all I said' she shrugged.

I shook my head. Emily never learns. Emily pushed open a big door that was engraved with fairies and a glorious elf lady that stood amongst the moon and the stars.

I entered the library and my mouth fell open. It was a huge room and was surrounded by big shelves, all neatly arranged by thousands of books. 'I thought you said Deameon took you to a small library' I said to Emily with my mouth still open. 'It is a small library' she said and laughed at my expressions. I walked around the huge room.

Wow it took me almost 2 minute to reach back to Emily. 'Ok now time to find the book I was reading' she said. 'Well...your going to work a bit of sweat finding it here' I said, Em smiled at me sweetly and said 'And that's exactly why I brought you here with me. Finding the perfect book is no picnic'. I rolled my eyes but got up eventually and asked the name of the book. 'THE SECRETS OF NINAREDIL' she said singing, 'You go cover the left side of the library and the right is mine'.

I moved my hands through the ancient books, admiring how beautiful the covers looked. 'AHA! Found it' said Emily triumphantly, 'Guess I didn't need you after all'. I sat down near the handstand of the armchair Emily was sitting on. We read it for hours....
The battles of the elves alongside dwarfs against the orcs. How the council had once created peace among all living creatures and banished the orcs for good. How humans became selfish and tried to destroy everything created for the perspective of peace. Lady Lavinia's death, she was supposedly the First woman ruler of the Council.

'Its late we have to get ready now' I said to Emily. She looked at the huge hourglass at the centre of the library. 'Yes we have to hurry' she said banging the book closed and placing it securely among the shelves. We rushed outside and met Luthiann. She crossed her hand at us. Both I and Emily looked at each other. 'We forgot we were supposed to meet you Luthiann' I said apologetically. 'Yeah we're sorry' Emily said twice as apologetically. Luthiann shrugged and said 'Well I was really tired myself so I guess it's fine, aren't you supposed to get ready now?'. We nodded and ran to our own bedrooms.

The maiden elves were waiting for me. They tidied me up and helped me wear the brilliant midnight blue gown. They combed my hair and made a bun on the centre leaving all behind. I was given a small necklace and a purple stone piece was hanging at the centre. 'What is this?' I asked the elven maiden who put the necklace on my neck. 'A gift from Aran Faeranduil, made from the best amythest found on the whole universe' she said gracefully.

I touched the piece with awe. It's so....wonderful. I will thank Faerunduil for such kindness he showed to us from the beginning. I beamed at the ladies and they looked at me adoringly.

It was night. An elven boy rushed to each room and said that we were to be expected downstairs when the dance is about to begin. All the ladies got ready and we were being marched to a big hall that was covered by a big velvet curtain, that obscured what was behind it.

Emily grasped my hand nervously. I was having jitters too. I was taking deep breaths but nothing was working. The other ladies were chattering and we were able to hear thousands voices from behind the curtains. Oh....when people told me it was a big occasion I didn't know it was such a big deal.

'Such a big deal barely covers the truth' Emily said to me, 'What?' I said my voice trembling. 'I asked my elf maiden who were all coming and she said the dwarfs of Narivera and Thongilum were to be expected along with the whole members of the council. Not to mention the Elves of all society'. Hearing that my knees gave away. The lady elf next to me and Emily pulled me up by the arm. 'Wow you were not kidding. You really are highly strung' said Emily steadying me.

From behind the curtain we heard an agelic and powerful voice of Faeranduil. 'People of the Great universe. Welcome. Welcome to our humble preparation for uniting the broken realms and people. We were scattered and of different places and kind even if we were to be one. The great battle that took place long ago broke all our people but bonded us in strength and trust. We together here stand STRONG. POWERFUL. AND ONE' boomed Faeranduil. "HEAR, HEAR!!" Yelled the people. It brought shivers. The people were strong and I admired the unity of their world.

Faeranduil continued 'But the pretty ladies behind this curtains cannot be kept there forever, can they?', the people behind the curtains clapped. Emily flushed shyly.

Slowly the curtains began to open. Everyone clapped. The ladies including me and Emily bowed. An Elvish man called two names together and those two ladies walked down. I and Emily waited our turn. When suddenly called ours together. Emily pulled me and we stood at the top of the stairs and slowly walked down.

My face was burning with shyness. Luckily the mask truly helped me cover my face. But below Luthiann gave us a warm smile that cooled me. I smiled confidently and walked down with more grace. Every ladies were called and after the final ladies were announced...'Let the dance begin...' said Faeranduil. The music started and it was nerve calming and exciting.

'May I have this first dance' said Airen extending his hand. 'Certainly good sir' I said and elegantly placed my hand at his. I saw Daemeon staring at us but he quickly asked Emily for the dance. We glided across the dance floor like Swans in the lake. 'I never thought of you as a dancer' I said to Airen, 'Well I guess it is a perk being with a mannered sibling' he replied charmingly. He held me close as if he was scared to let me go.

We danced for a while when we had to switch partners. Airen held my hand tight for a while the let go. I twirled and went to the arms of an another GentleElf. He was charming too and he talked quite a lot. I was surprised at how he did not fall or slip down while dancing because he clearly was not taking much effort in dancing but still danced gracefully. I turned to look at the decorations and the other dancers. The big gold Chandeliers were really magnificent and dwarfs and eleves were dancing and laughing. Everyone were having the time of their lives. It was really beautiful and peaceful. The golden glow of the lights reflecting on the smiling faces. Wow...I can't believe I'll have to leave this all behind soon. The people Merrily danced and twirled. Even Moody Emily was laughing with her partner. Do I really need to leave all this? This Beauty...this peace....the love...

I tried to forget all that and enjoy the night in the blissful ball among the different people.

I switched partners with my fourth and last when I found I was at the arms of....'Deameon!' I said surprised. 'Greetings lady. You look absolutely stunning tonight' he said unusually fast. And he seemed quite impatient. 'Are you okay?' I asked quite worried. 'Oh everything's quite fine my lady' he said taking a deep breath. 'Would you come with me to the balcony real quick. It won't take too long' he said. I blinked and said 'Yeah sure'.

Deameon pulled me away from the the dancing group and nodded politely at the guests. We went to a more private and lone balcony. He sat down at a silver bench and asked me to sit near him. I did so. He turned towards me and took my hand. Oh my goodness!!!!
My heart's beating like crazy. His cold white eyes stared at my dark ones. I wanted to remove the tension between us but I couldn't. I looked at him. The way the moonlight illuminated at his pale skin was quite mesmerising.

'Am I making you uncomfortable Josephine?' he asked smoothly. I was too shy to utter a single word. He ran his thumb over my lower lips and looked at it hungrily. His warm breath tingled my face and it melted me, metaphorically speaking. His hands moved from my hands to my elbow, to shoulder, to my collarbone, then to my neck and then slowly caressing my jaw.

He moved closer to me. I couldn't help it. I moved closer to him too. Our lips met and I felt a spark at his soft touch. I moved my hands to his hair. Wow...it were ten times smoother than it looks. He pulled me real close. As our kiss became intensely passionate, I grabbed his hair, he gasped between his lips and it vibrated in my tongue. He slowly removed his lips from mine and proceeded to kiss my neck. I moaned and gasped, still holding onto his shoulders. He bit my jaw softly leading me to moan harder. We didn't let go of this moment till we heard people walking by.

'You don't know how long I wanted to do this' he said still cupping my cheek. My heart beat faster than before. I couldn't help but smile and say 'Me too'. He lead me to the ballroom holding me close to him and danced at the slow music, watched jealousy by Airen......
