Follow the white cat, a bright light show

After school, Serene told Haru to come up with a cover story that could explain why she's not home yet as she went to the crossroads and started looking for the white cat that the voice told her to find.

"Find the Cat Bureau. Never heard of a Cat Bureau." Serene muttered as she came up to a shop.

She stopped when she saw a black cat as it looked at her curiously. The voice told her to find a white cat and not a black cat. She turned around and continued her search.

"Look for a large, white cat..." Serene said as she continued walking.

"The voice sounded female and nice. At least it was a pleasant voice. Maybe the white cat will be nice, too." Serene said as she continued.

Her feet got a little sore and much to her luck, a cafe was nearby and she went to it to rest for a bit.

"That was one long, weird day. I definitely need a break." She muttered and was about to sit down when she noticed that on the next chair was a white cat.

"Is that fat cat...?" Serene muttered curiously.

The ear of the cat flicked and it turned its head towards her in annoyance as if it looked offended by her words.

Upon taking a closer look, it was large and the color is white. It could be the cat that she was told to find.

"Are you the big, white cat? Are you?" Serene muttered.

She looked around to see if the coast is clear before moving closer to the cat.

"Excuse me but listen, cat. I need to know where the Cat Bureau is." She whispered but the cat seemed to hear her and looked at her again and something tells her that the cat understands her.

"A voice told me to ask you and I urgently need your assistance." Serene continue to whisper.

After a moment of silence and a slight staring contest, Serene stood up with a disappointed sigh.

"Must have the wrong person. I mean cat. I have the wrong cat." Serene said as she started to walk away.

"I'm sorry to bother you." Serene apologized.

The cat watched her walk but couldn't shake the feeling that something about her seemed strange. Like her aura matches someone. It then sat up and called out to her.

"Wait. I'll show you." It said in a male voice.

Serene turned around in confusion and surprise.

"It's him!" Serene said in surprise.

The cat then got down from the chair and started to run off somewhere with Serene running after him.

"Wait a minute! Slow down!" Serene shouted after him

Serene continued to follow the cat until they started to take paths to alleys and nooks and crannies but Serene was able to keep up with the cat which surprised him.

"Pardon but isn't there an easier way?" Serene asked as they jumped on some small roofs.

She didn't get a reply as the cat kept walking.

"Hey. Hey, come on. Guess I shouldn't have called him fat." Serene said as she continued to follow the cat.

Serene let out a small gasp but jumped down on the roof. She saw the cat going to some stairs leading to the ground and she quickly followed. She finally got back to solid ground and she followed the cat to another part of the alleyway. Serene slowed down as the cat turned the corner. She stopped for a moment and peeked around it to see the cat going through an archway and suddenly stood up.

She breathed in awe and followed suite slowly as she looked at the path. She soon noticed that there were houses which was no taller than her and they were doll size.

She looked around in wonder before she sensed something. She looked at herself and was a little shocked to see she somehow shrunken. She looked around and couldn't help but feel at home all of a sudden.

"Wow, this is one weird and familiar place..." Serene muttered after looking around.

She then turned to the cat as it was going to one of the houses. He took something out of the mailbox and it looked like a newspaper. He opened it and went to a recliner by a window and started to read it.

Serene watches him curiously before approaching since she needs to find the Cat Business Office.

"Uh, excuse me, where's the Cat Bureau?" Serene asked again but the cat didn't answer her.

The cat just ignored her and continued to read the newspaper and Serene was starting to be a little desperate.

"Um, hello? I need some help right now. Or I'm gonna get dragged off to the cat kingdom." Serene said but the cat didn't answer.

She let out a sigh before looking towards the window and froze. Something was standing by the window and when she got a closer look, it was the same cat creation with cream colored fur and sandy ivory chin and had these emerald jade eyes from her memories. He was wearing the same beige cream colored suit and pants with a matching top hat. Gloved hands, brown shoes, a red vest, a blue bow tie and a cane in hand.

The light from the setting sun reflected in his eyes and made them look more magical. The sudden shift of the eyes was enough to make Serene jolt back in surprise and distance herself from the house as a sudden warm feeling washed over her unknowingly and into her very core.

"Could this... be it?" Serene muttered in shock as memories suddenly flooded her mind and it caused her to hold her head in pain.

Something about the creation triggered something and it brought more memories. After the pain subsided, she shook her head  as she looked to the house in surprise.

Then as if by magic, the lights from the setting sun reflected on the other windows of the other houses and made a spotlight towards the house in front of her. The white cat covered his eyes from it but addressed someone from inside the house.

"Enough, Baron! Turn it off! No one's impressed with your cheesy light show, okay?!" The cat said and the name sounded way too familiar to Serene as she blinked.

'Baron...? Could it be...?' Serene thought in shock.

A few moments before...

Inside the house, Baron was at his usual post and was still like a statue while waiting for the sun to set. It's just gonna be another quiet and peaceful night at the bureau but something about today is making his fur stand up and the magic within to start up.

When he saw that Muta came in, he instantly knew that there was a client and he wondered who it was until he saw her. A human with beautiful silver white hair and a pale complexion as well as strikingly familiar blue eyes went through the archway. If he was moving, he would have backed away from the window from shock. She almost resembled someone from his past and he could never forget her even to this day.

There was also one thing that caught his attention and much to his shock, it was the same necklace that he gave to her before they were separated years ago. But how could it be...?

The human girl seemed to have shrunk to his size and was talking to Muta about where the Cat Business Office is. He couldn't help but inwardly chuckle at that. Clients usually ask that question before he shows himself. An idea struck him and maybe a little light show might impress the young lady.

When they made eye contact, his eyes shifted a little and caused the young miss to back away from shock only to hold her head in what looked like pain. He became concerned about why she was holding her head and wondered if she was in any pain.

Using up his magic, he made the windows of the houses around to reflect the light from the sun towards his little house.

"Enough, Baron! Turn it off! No one's impressed with your cheesy light show, okay?!" Muta called from outside as he tried to cover his eyes.

Baron had to chuckle in his mind as the sun finally set and the lights in the house turned on. Taking that as his cue, he stepped off his post and stood in front of the doors as he straightened his attire before the door opened.

He walked up to her with grace and calmness as she watched him in shock and awe as he could feel the same magic coming from her.

Current scene...

Serene watched as the lights all stopped as soon as the sun disappeared into the horizon. Then the lights of the green and white house turn on magically just as the doors open. A figure then walked out with such grace and calmness as she watched in shock and awe. The figure stopped in front of her and took off his top hat as his emerald green eyes bore into her soul and left her breathless.
