Fight for Serene's Freedom and Restored

Back in the Cat Kingdom, Baron stood at the edge of the ledge he was on. He had taken his top hat and coat off as he raised his sword above his head while the king chose a direct approach.

It was a tense silence to see who would move first before the king charged towards him with Baron following suit. There was a clash of metal and Baron flipped in the air and landed by the window with his back turned to the king who turned to him with the sword in his paw.

A crack was heard and he looked at his head to see that the gem on his forehead had cracked and shattered into shards. He yowled out in defeat as most of his fur fell off as he quickly covered himself with his paws and Baron stood straight, victorious.

"I win, king." Baron said triumphantly.

He swings the sword in his hand to get rid of some of the fur as the cat king glared at him in annoyance. He wins so he'll let the girl go.

"How embarrassing." He grumbled.

Serene looked out the windows of the top of the tower before looking out the very top as a breeze blew her hair. Back down, the king was talking to Baron.

"I heard rumors about a nosy cat figurine who likes to help others with their problems. I assumed you'd just be a kitschy knick-knack that collected dust. Had I known you were this good, I would have asked you to come and work for me." The cat king said as Baron turned towards him.

Serene hopped on the edge before gasping in shock by what she saw.

"I prefer a life of sticking my nose in others' problems and helping those that are in need." He told him. He would rather stick to his routine and oath to help those in need when problems are too difficult for them.

Just then a terrified scream was heard and Baron felt fear gripping his core as he looked up to the top when he heard Serene's terrified scream.

"WHERE AM I???!!!" She screamed in fear as she held onto the edge of the tower.

As it turns out, the cause of the collapse of the tower had moved the very exit she was on and the wind was blowing against her.

Baron gritted his fangs and turned to the king angrily as he laughed.

"What have you done?!" He exclaimed as the king laughed.

The king sat down while setting his sword to the side and looked at Baron with a smirk.

"I didn't do anything. The tower is hundreds of feet shorter now. I wouldn't be surprised if the exit had moved as well, babe." He smirked and Baron gripped the sword before dropping it.

"Serene..." He quickly gathered his coat, top hat and cane as he went through the window as the cat king just laughed.

He quickly put on his coat and top hat and started to hurry and get to Serene.

Below the tower, those present gathered around the crystal ball and were shocked by what they were seeing.

"Oh no, the exit moved!" Natoru exclaimed in worry and shock as everyone was worried for Serene's safety.

Lune gripped his paws into fists at what happened as he became worried for their friend.

"We should have foreseen this." He gritted his teeth before Yuki noticed something.

"But, look, she's not a cat or a human anymore." She said in shock and everyone looked and saw that she was right.

Serene didn't grow back into her natural height of a human but remained the same size as a cat. Her hair disappeared as she was finally restored back to her former self but unfortunately for her, the wind was pushing against her and she was slowly getting pushed over the edge as she screamed in fear while shutting her eyes tight.

"Help me!" She cried out in fear as tears threatened to fall from her eyes.

Baron heard this and started to run even faster to get to her. He can't lose her again!

"SERENE!" He shouted in worry.

Just as Serene was about to fall off, a paw quickly grabbed her hand as she was dangling in the air.

Muta was able to get to the top on time and grabbed her hand just as she was about to fall off. Serene looked at him with relief in her tear filled eyes.

"Thank you, Muta." She said tearfully as Muta grinned at her.

"Don't mention it, kid." He reassured her.

But bad luck seemed to be on their side as Muta started to slide off the edge which Serene noticed and her eyes widened

"Uh, Muta?!" She cried out.

Then soon Serene felt herself and Muta falling as she let out a terrified scream as Muta kept a tight grip on her hand.

"Don't let go, kid!" Muta grunted loudly against the wind.

"I'm sorry, Muta!" Serene exclaimed.

Baron saw them falling fast after reaching the top and quickly jumped down towards them.

"Hold on!" He shouted against the wind.

Baron quickly grabbed Serene's other hand and pulled her towards him in the air as she held onto him quickly but not letting go of Muta

"I don't wanna die!" She yelled.

"You're not dead yet! Open your eyes!" He told her loudly.

Serene opened her eyes to see Baron looking at her while trying to keep his hat from flying off

"Baron?!" She looked at him as Baron tried to find a solution on how they're gonna get down only to see the necklace he gave was glowing slightly and he remembered why he gave it to her.

"Serene, you must use your necklace to call for Toto!" He told her as she looked at him.

"But I can't! I'm scared!" She said but Baron brought her closer as they kept falling through the sky.

"Just trust me!" He said.

Serene felt a bit of courage inside her and she grasped the necklace before it glowed brightly as both creations shut their eyes only for them to land on something feathery as Muta grunted as he was caught by a pair of claws.

"I got you!" The voice made Serene open her eyes as Baron let out a sigh of relief.

"Perfect timing." Baron breathes in relief as he holds onto Toto's feather while holding Serene close to him.

Toto was carrying the two creations on his back while keeping a firm grip on Muta.

"So, Muta, how does it feel to be saved by a birdbrain?" Toto teased him as Muta rolled his eyes at him.

Serene smiled happily in relief at seeing the crow creation

"Toto!" Serene smiled as Toto looked towards her and smiled to see that she was okay.

He was just flying out while waiting for his companions when he felt someone calling out for help and he was able to find the trio falling and caught them.

"It sure took you long enough!" Muta complained as his tone was a mix of annoyance and relief.

"Nice work, Toto." Baron said as Toto flew them in a specific direction.

"I'm just glad I was flying in the area when I saw that flash of light." He told them as Serene slowly eased up as she looked down below them.

"Are you sure we're not too heavy?" She asked in concern that Toto might not be able to carry them all.

That made Toto laugh in amusement. Serene weighs nothing like Muta and that's saying something.

"You're lighter like Baron, Serene. So it's easy to carry you." He reassured her and she smiled.

"Thanks." Serene sighed as she leaned against Baron as the void in her heart and soul is finally being completed again after a long time of separation.

"I beg to differ." Muta grumbled in annoyance.

Baron just shook his head in amusement at the two before he noticed something on a building they were headed to and saw that they were approaching the school and that there was someone on the roof.

"Serene, look!" He pointed to the building and Serene followed his arm.

Serene saw where he was pointing and smiled to see that it was the school but it wasn't the school that brought a smile to her face. It was Haru who was on the roof.

"That's Haru and the school. I don't believe it. We made it on time." Serene smiled happily as she looked at Baron, Muta and Toto with a thankful smile.

"Thank you, everyone." She thanked them as Muta has a smirk and Toto has a smile on his beak. But Baron felt a little sad for some reason. They made it home but... why does it feel like a goodbye.

He unknowingly tightened his arm around Serene a little and Serene looked at him questioningly but Baron just offered her a smile even though his heart seemed to be breaking in two.

Back at the Cat Kingdom, everyone was relieved that Serene and her friends were saved as they started to cheer happily and applaud.

"Hooray!" Natoru cheered amongst the others who were clapping and cheering.

"Unbelievable." Lune said in relief. Man, that gave him quite a scare but he was glad that Baron managed to save her.

Both Yuki and Lune looked at each other happily before they turned back to the orb.

"We won't forget you, Miss Serene." Yuki said as she leaned her head in Lune's shoulder and caused the prince to purr softly at his fiancee

Still climbing up the stairs, Natori passed by another window only to stop once he saw the king sitting just at the ledge.

"Your Majesty?" He called out to him.

He went through the window and  approached him as the king had his back turned as he hummed.

"I've been thinking. It may be time for me to retire." The cat king said and Natori felt instant relief that he finally decided to.

"I think I shall accompany you, sire." Natoru bowed his head.

He soon escorted the king down the tower while thanking Baron silently for making the king retire and give up on Serene.
