Chapter 2: Caught In The Storm
After some time, the boat began to move faster due to heavy wind...in which worried Bucky a little bit. He knows that the area they were sailing in was usually prone to very violent thunderstorms, and most ships don't usually make it back to land to tell the tale of their journey. But luckily, the Wither Team seemed to be too bored and uninvolved with the trip to the point where they no longer gave a crap about their surroundings...so Bucky didn't really have to worry about them complaining about things getting dangerous. "Ugh, why must the boat rock so much?" Witherstorm moaned, putting both his hands on his head. Petra patted him on the back, and he retched a bit. "Hey now, don't go barfing on us." She said, as Witherstorm covered his mouth. "I don't think I'll make it to the edge..."
"I'm sure you'll be fine...we're almost there, anyway. Right, Bucky?" Eden asked. Bucky took one glance at Eden's terrifying death stare, and quickly turned back before nodding frantically out of fear. "Um...yes, yes! We are getting very close...shouldn't be more than three minutes away!" He said. A chill ran up his spine once he noticed that the clouds were getting darker, the last thing he wanted was for his hilariously tiny ship to get caught in a storm. Suddenly, a loud thunderclap was heard...instantly causing the team to get suspicious. "Was that thunder?" Ham asked, as Bucky smiled nervously. "Nooooo..." he said, frantically shaking his head. "Um...Cloud farted."
"Hey, no I didn't!" Objected said Wolfdragon pup, as more thunder echoed through the the air. Bucky shrugged, as he chuckled. "You sure about that, mate? You ate a lot of hot chili peppers before we left." Cloud narrowed his eyes at the scarred white ferret, as Eden crossed her arms...now suspecting that something was wrong way more than she was earlier. "I'm sure we would've smelled it if he did fart, Bucky. It's no secret that it's about to rain." She said. "Alright, yes, it's about to rain...but don't pay it any mind." Bucky said.
"It's still nothing but smooth sailing ahead."
Five minutes later...
"This is not...smooth...sailing!!!!" Shouted Petra over the insane storm. It didn't take long for rain to pour down, waves to get rough, wind to get heavy, and for the gang to start panicking as soon as they started slipping about the boat's deck. And if anyone were to see them like that...they would no doubt question their survival. "I knew I couldn't trust you completely, I knew it!" Eden shouted, gripping the boat's mast along with Petra. "How could you steer us into a severe thunderstorm?!"
"I know how!" Cloud piped up, as he tightened his grip on Petra. "He knows that this area is prone to severe weather, but he didn't turn around because all he cares about is the stupid treasure!" Upon hearing that, everyone once again looked to Bucky in shock. "WHAT?!?!?!" The white ferret backed up against the ship's wheel before quickly turning back to it, and casually continuing to steer as if there wasn't an angry Wither Team standing in front of him. "It's no problem, mates!" He reassured them. "I'll have us out of here in a snap!" As soon as he turned the wheel, it popped out of it's position...and Bucky was now holding it in his paws. He chuckled nervously at the sight of the team's jaws dropping far enough to the point where it looked like they would touch the ship's deck. "Uhmm...it seems that I've lost control of the ship." He said, before Eden grabbed him by the neck. "WELL, NAH DIP, SHERLOCK!!!! THE FLIPPING WHEEL JUST POPPED OFF!!!!" Before Bucky could say anything in response, lighting struck in a place that was not too far from the boat...as the water got rougher and the rain poured down harder. "Eden, what do we do?!" Ham shouted from one side of the ship. "It's way too dangerous out here!" Petra added, as Eden nodded in agreement. "Everyone hold on to something!" She said. "We don't know if the ship will make it through...so we have to be prepared for the worst!" Everyone gave a quick nod, and grabbed on to the closest thing...so falling off the ship could be avoided. But now, just as they were doing that, things immediately started to get worse. Wind blew heavily, lighting kept striking everywhere, and the waves knocked the boat a couple of inches out of the water a few times. "At least things can't get any worse!" Witherstorm shouted. "Um...I-I wouldn't be so sure about that." Cloud said. "Look." He pointed out at the horizon ahead...and directed everyone's attention to a humongous wave that towered high over the ship, in which caused the entire gang to stare at it in complete horror as they froze to the spots they were standing in. "Uhhh...Edeeen?????" Ham called, expecting Eden to come up with a solution like she always does. This time, though, the tigress just couldn't seem to bark orders...on the count of how much adrenaline was racing through her veins. Her instincts were screaming for her to jump off the ship, but with a wave that large...it wouldn't be so hard to drown. After a minute of thinking, Eden noticed that it was already too late...and the massive wave was already crashing down towards the puny ship.
"EVERYBODY BRACE FOR IMPACT!!!!!!!!!!"
