The Mandalorian: Chapter 1 (revision)
The viewing screen was dark, the faint images of different faces of various shapes flashed on and off in red as a beeping sound was heard in the background. Just then, a title was shown upon the screen.
STAR WARS
__________________________
"Star Wars?" Ruby asked in curiosity.
"It's the label given to this particular universe." Vortech said. "This universe has many stories to tell, and while we are not, currently, looking into the main story of this universe, the story we are viewing is just as important."
"I gotta say, it's one cool sounding label." Jaune commented. "It sounds like a sci-fi action movie."
"Ooh, does our universe have a label?" Nora asked Vortech as she raised her hand.
"Yes..." Vortech started. "But I don't think I'll be telling any of you. I wouldn't want certain people to get egotistical or complain."
"What would we complain about?" Roman asked Vortech with a raised brow.
"Oh, like I'm telling you. You're one of the people I know who are going to complain the most, in regards to your universe's label." Vortech replied to the master criminal.
Roman just looked at Vortech in confusion before looking back to the viewing screen.
"I should also note that these universes have been edited beforehand. The edits include things such as music or subtitles for different languages." Vortech stated.
"Well, that's convenient." Weiss said with a raised brow.
"And we'll leave it at that." Vortech replied to her.

Just then light came through the viewing screen as the audience was shown what appeared to be an armored individual holding a small device with an antenna atop it in a pink gloved hand with a black fingerless globe over top it, the device in the individual's being the source of the beeping sound.
The individual stood still upon an icy field, the image of a town not too far off in the distance as snow blew in the cloudy wind. The individual moved his arm around a bit so as to ascertain the direction that his device was leading him to.
Eventually, the angle of the individual shifted to their back, showing that individual was masculine in structure, wearing a grey cape upon his back that was shifted enough to show that the individual also wore a yellow pauldron that was topped in pink. His clothing seemed to consist of a brown, woven shirt and brown woven pants while wearing a belt. On his right arm he wore a dark green, technological vambrace. Upon his head, the mysterious individual wore a rounded helmet that was black in color with a pink strip going up from the middle-back of the helmet, and all the way to the front-middle of the helmet, though the audience couldn't see the front.
As the individual's cape flew in the wind, a few more bits of his armor was shown, revealing that he wore a green pauldron on his left shoulder, and another technological green vambrace on his left arm.
Eventually the individual put his tracking fob into a pocket on his belt as he started to walk along a wooden path that led to the nearby town, large sheets of ice surrounding at all sides of the area.

"Who's tall, dark and mysterious?" Yang asked.
"My question is, where exactly is that man located?" Weiss asked as she observed the armored individual's surroundings. "I've never seen any place as icy as this, expect for what my sister has told me about the outskirts of Solitas."
Port couldn't help but shiver a bit upon remembering a mission in his younger years that took him to said outskirts. "Now there was a place that was anything but hospitable."
"Believe it or not, this individual is currently on another planet." Vortech stated to the audience. "A planet covered in thick sheets of ice. It is known as Maldo Kreis."
"An entirely different plane than Remnant?" Pyrrha asked with wide eyes. "I can see why this universe is labeled as Star Wars."
"Man, I couldn't imagine having to live on an entire planet of ice." Yang said. "Atlas or Mantle, maybe, but with ice literally everywhere? No thank you."
"I would imagine that any civilization on the planet would have a surplus of heating units." Weiss said to Yang before looking back at the screen. "Though to think we're actually looking at another planet."

The scene immediately cut to the inside of a cantina as a blue fish-like alien with fins on the side of his head was slammed against a table, grunting as one of the people that held him down spoke in a language that the audience would soon know as Huttese.
"Look at his glands!" A bald and bearded human said to his two friends in Huttese as they held the Mythrol down on the table.
One of the man's friends was shown to be an alien with a squid-like head. A Quarren. His other friend being that of another human.
"I bet we could sell them at the port!" The alpha trawler said in Huttese.
__________________________
"What's going on here?" Ruby asked before blinking her eyes at the Mythrol and Quarren. "And what's with the fish people?"
"Well, this is in space. I guess we're getting a look at some different alien species." Blake surmised as she looked at the Mythrol and Quarren, suddenly having a craving for fish.
"The blue one is a Mythrol. An amphibious species." Vortech said. "The more squid-like one is a Quarren. An aquatic species hailing from the planet of Mon Cala."
"Fascinating." Oobleck said as he pulled out a small notebook and pen from his pockets, soon writing down the information the audience had been given.
"Where were you keeping a notebook?" Glynda asked her fellow bespectacled teacher.
"Come now, Glynda. You should know by now that I always carry a notebook with me." Oobleck said as he looked to Beacon's combat teacher.
"Okay, so what's going on with the Mythrol and that guy speaking in a weird language?" Ruby asked Vortech.
"That man is the alpha in a group of trawlers. The Mythrol wound up ticking them off, and it landed him in his current predicament." Vortech explained. "As for the language, it is Huttese. A language used by criminals, pirates, and bounty hunters alike."
"So it's like a bad guy language?" Ruby asked.
Vortech replied with a "so-so" shake of his hand before the viewing continued.

As this was going on, everyone else in the cantina went about their business as if nothing was going on. Said people in the cantina were various aliens, each with unique and different appearances. The bartender, who was a dark skinned human, walked up to his countertop as he watched the trawlers hold down the Mythrol.
"Please. Please." The Mythrol pleaded to the trawlers. "I have credits. Take them."
__________________________
"Credits?" Roman asked.
"Currency." Vortech answered.
"Ah." Roman replied with a nod.
"Is no one going to help him?" Ruby asked in worry for the Mythrol.
"You assume it's their business to help, Red." Roman called out to her. "The fish got himself in this situation. They don't have a reason to help him with his own mess."
"It's the right thing to do." Ruby retorted back to Roman.
"I doubt there's any way that any of these guys have the morals to do 'the right thing.'" Roman replied while using air quotes. "It's just how normal people are."
"If that was the case, why aren't more people like that then, huh?" Yang asked, siding with her little sister.
Roman merely replied with a shrug. "Cause people are idiots."
"Yeah, sure. That's the reason." Weiss decided to join in, rolling her eyes at Roman.
__________________________
The Mythrol then proceeded to place some of his credits upon the table, hoping it would be enough to sway the trawlers, but it was no good.
"He's young." The alpha trawler said to his friends. "The musk will be sweet."
The Quarren then roughly brought the Mythrol up from his seat from the table, causing a drink to spill upon it. The Quarren held the Mythrol by his shoulder and head as the alpha trawler pulled out a knife, the other human trawler merely watching things unfold.
"And now for the real prize." The alpha trawler said as he aimed the knife at the Mythrol's throat, causing him to gasp.
__________________________
"I can't watch." Ruby said as she covered her eyes.
"Is there really no one that is going to do anything to stop this?" Glynda asked. "At least call some form of authorities."
"That would be assuming there is some form of authorities on this planet." Oobleck said. "As gruesome as this situation is, this is a different planet, in a different universe. The way things work in that world may be different than how things work on Remnant."
"Surely not all of them are just willing to let this go by." Pyrrha spoke up.
"Sadly that does seem to be the case." Ozpin said with a shake of his head. "The only hope that there is for this... Mythrol is for a good samaritan to come in."
Meanwhile with Roman and Neo, the master criminal was commenting to his henchwoman.
"Now this is taking 'Gut you like a fish' to a whole other level." Roman said to Neo.
__________________________
Just then the cantina door opened, spiraling outwards in a circle-like manner as the mysterious individual from earlier was shown.
This time, the rest of the individual could be seen. He was shown to have a chest plate with a small diamond-like symbol in the middle of it, the chest plate painted green and chipped. Across his chest piece was a brown strap that held several blaster cartridges. He also wore a green codpiece accompanied by two pink thigh guards on the side of his waist along with two differently shaped shin guards, one yellow and the other green. His boots were armored with the right one holding a strap for some larger ammo cartridges. Finally, the front of his helmet was shown, not only fully going over his head, but obscuring his entire face as well. The front of the helmet was a black as the back of it, the pink strip going along the middle of the top of the helmet stopping at an angular, t-shaped visor that was tinted in pink. This individual was a Mandalorian.
As the Mandalorian's cape fluttered in the snowy wind, the patrons of the cantina indistinctly chattering with each other, all of them looking towards the Mandalorian.
__________________________
"Cool armor." Ruby said towards the Mandalorian.
"Yeah... you know that armor's color scheme looks oddly familiar." Jaune said.
"I definitely see it." Pyrrha agreed with her team leader. "But I can't place it."
However Nora stared at the armor's color scheme for a bit longer before an idea popped in her head, causing her to look at Ren. She then looked back at the individual on screen, and then back at Ren. Viewing screen, Ren. Viewing screen, Ren. She did for a few more times before she said what was on her mind.
"Is that Ren?!" Nora asked in surprise.
Her teammates and their friends all widened their eyes in similar surprise before looking between Ren and the Armorer individual.
"There are similarities between the armor's color scheme and the color scheme of my own clothing." Ren said as he looked at what he assumed was his alternate self.
"Yes, this is an alternate version of Lie Ren." Vortech stated. "His role in this universe is that he is a Mandalorian. A race of warriors that have existed in this universe for a very long time."
"Ancient warrior race." Oobleck wrote down in his notes.
Ren silently looked at his alternate self, wondering how would change the outcome of the current situation.
__________________________
The alpha trawler yelled out something in Huttese to the alternate version of Ren, clearly annoyed that his appearance interrupted him from gutting the Mythrol.
The Mandalorian version of Ren, however, was not fazed by the alpha trawler, opting to simply walk into the cantina, his boots clicking with each step as the patrons watched on.
The alpha trawler, seeing that Mandalorian Ren was not fazed in the slightest, looked towards the spilled drink before looking back to Ren.
"You spilled my drink..." The alpha trawler said to Ren.
However the Mandalorian simply walked on, paying no mind to the trawler as he stood at the bar.
__________________________
"Uh, no he didn't." Nora said to the trawler. "You spilled your own drink."
"Well, the guy's obviously an asshole. He's just trying to cause trouble since your friend interrupted him." Roman said. "I've met similar people whenever I've gone to a few bars. Always think they're hot stuff until someone puts them in their place."
Neo giggled in bit in response to what her boss said, remembering how said "hot shots" completely changed their attitude when she dealt with them.
__________________________
The alpha trawler, still seeing that the Mandalorian was still not fazed, looked to his human and Quarren trawler friends before looking back to the alternate version of Ren.
"Hey, Mando!" The alpha trawler called out to Mando Ren once more. And once again, Ren ignored him.
The alpha trawler scoffed before slowly walking over to Mando.
"I said, you spilled, my drink..." the alpha trawler slowly said to Mando in Huttese.
The patrons of the cantina watched on in silence, the bartender deciding to speak to Mando Ren.
"He says you spilled his drink." The bartender said to Mando, a hint of nervousness in his voice.
The alpha trawler merely looked over to his fellow trawlers, the Quarren slamming down the Mythrol back into the table letting him go as the Mythrol grunted and panted.
__________________________
"Things are about to get intense." Yang commented.
"These guys are nothing compared to Renny." Nora said with crossed arms. "He'll kick their butts all the way to next week."
"My counterpart is calm right now, but I do get the impression that something is about to happen." Ren stated before asking a question that was on his mind. "Though, why did the trawler call me Mando?"
"It's a nickname. Easier to say as opposed to referring to you as Mandalorian." Vortech answered. "That, and not many people know your real name."
"I see." Ren nodded his head.
"Wait, why wouldn't people know Ren's name?" Jaune asked.
"Perhaps it is a cultural occurrence related to me being a Mandalorian." Ren theorized.
"You're not too far off." Vortech told Ren before the viewing continued.
__________________________
As the other two trawlers walked over to Mando Ren, the bartender decided to speak once more. "It's fine." He said, trying to ease the situation. "It's on me."
As the bartender went to get the alpha trawler another drink, said trawler looked at Mando Ren's armor in slight curiosity.
"Is that real Beskar Steel?" The alpha trawler asked Mando in Huttese.
__________________________
"Beskar Steel? What's that?" Ruby asked in curiosity.
"A very strong, near impenetrable metal." Vortech answered. "It originates from the Mandalorian homeworld of Mandalore. Beskar has been used by Mandalorians for generations, though over time the metal has become scarce from over usage. Modern Mandalorians still use Beskar, but now it only mixed in with other metals to help make their armor."
"Must be one helluva metal." Roman commented.
"How much Beskar does my armor use?" Ren asked.
"The majority of Beskar included with your armor is what makes up most of your helmet." Vortech answered him. "The rest of the armor is mixed with Durasteel, a substitute metal for Beskar that Mandalorians use. While it isn't as strong as Beskar, it will still help in protecting Mandalorians from most attacks."
__________________________
The Quarren trawler walked to the other side of Mando, growling at him as the other human trawler walked beside the Quarren.
The alpha trawler then proceeded to draw his knife against Mando's chest plate, making a sparking sound in the process.
Everything seemed quiet and still. The bartender, having gotten the new drink, spoke up, getting Mando's attention.
"Here." The bartender said, sliding the cup across the countertop.
The moment the cup slid over to where Mando stood, Mando Ren immediately grabbed the cup, using his shoulders to push back the alpha trawler and the Quarren, causing them all to grunt before he moved to slam the cup in the face of the other human trawler.
__________________________
"Oh, yeah. Bar fight!" Yang cheered.
"Show them who's boss!" Nora cheered for Mando Ren.
"This is slowly reminding me of the last time we all went to a bar with Qrow." Port commented as he remembered when Qrow had gotten into a very rambunctious bar fight.
"Yes, that ended up being quite the mess." Ozpin added as he remembered broken tables, chairs, and bottles. "It was also quite the expense."
"And a lot of paperwork." Glynda lightly groaned with crossed arms.
__________________________
Mando then grabbed the Quarren by the neck and slammed his head against the countertop of the bar, knocking him out for a moment as he slid to the floor.
The alpha trawler went at Mando Ren with his knife, only for Mando to grab the arm that held the knife with one hand, using his other to punch the alpha trawler in the chest. The alpha trawler grunted in pain before Mando punched him in the jaw, disorienting him before his used both of his hands to move the alpha trawler's arm behind him before using the knife in the trawler's own hand to stab in the back.
The alpha trawler yelled in pain as the Mythrol hid behind his table, watching as Mando proceeded to drop the body of the alpha trawler to the floor with a thud.
__________________________
"Yikes!" Jaune exclaimed in shock. "I was not expecting Ren to kill the guy."
"Me neither." Ren stated. "Though my other self does belong to a race of warriors. So I suppose it was par for the course. When we become official huntsmen, we won't always be dealing with Grimm, and we may not have the option of avoiding death."
"It doesn't mean we can't at least try to find alternatives beforehand." Ruby said with, trying to steer clear of the props act of having to kill someone else. "I know I didn't have to kill anyone when I stopped Torchwick from robbing that Dust shop."
"Junior's men taken out by a little girl." Roman muttered. "I'm pretty sure they would have rather died than live with that over their heads."
"Regardless of Mando killing the trawler, he has good form." Pyrrha added to the conversation.
"So you are going to refer to my counterpart as Mando as well?" Ren asked Pyrrha. "Not that I have any actual problem with it."
"It's just to help separate who we're referring to." Pyrrha replied to him.
"It would be much easier." Blake added while she recalled Mando's fighting movements, remembering a few times she had to fight like that.
__________________________
Just then the sound of the cantina's automatic doors opening were heard, causing Mando to look and see the Quarren trawler trying to make an escape. Mando Ren was quick to launch a fibercord whip from his right vambrace, wrapping around the leg of the Quarren, tripping him to the ground.
Mando started to drag the Quarren back into the cantina as the Quarren grunted, moving his hand to reach for a small blaster holstered on his pant leg. The Quarren fired at Mando Ren, only for the blaster bolt to hit Ren in his right pauldron, clanging, yet not piercing his armor.
Mando Ren then cut his fibercord whip from his vambrace, going for his holstered blaster and firing at the cantina door controls, damaging them and causing the automatic to quickly close.
The Quarren just so happened to be situated right in the middle of the closing door, his body being lifted up by the quickly closing door as he screamed out in terror. Just then, the door fully closed, the sound of squelching flesh was heard as the lower half of the now dead Quarren landed upon the floor.
__________________________
A majority of the audience became frozen upon seeing the Quarren bisected in two from the cantina door.
"Woah." Nora said with slight awe.
"That was... a little gruesome." Weiss commented with a small cringe. "I know we do similar things to Grimm, but that was just dark. That, and at least dead Grimm disappear in black mist."
"Please don't show blood. Please don't show blood. Please don't show blood." Ruby sword up and down as she looked as the bisected lower half of the Quarren, her face showing that she was deeply disturbed.
"It's safe to say that I was not expecting that to happen." Ren said with wide eyes.
"Brutal." Glynda said with a look that was borderlining between neutral and cringe. "But an effective use of his environment."
"Anyone up for calamari?" Roman half-joked with a small nervous chuckle.
"Oh, that was too soon." Yang muttered to what Roman said.
Meanwhile, Neo looked at the screen with a somewhat sultry expression before holding up a sign that read: 'My kind of man.'
Roman blinked in confusion towards the sign Neo was holding before speaking to her. "Where'd you get that?"
"I gave the signs to her." Vortech answered Roman. "I needed a better way for her to communicate."
__________________________
Indistinct murmuring was heard throughout the cantina as everyone looked at the scene in silence.
Mando then looked over to the Mythrol, slowly walking to him as the blue fish-like alien nervously laughed.
"Thank you! Thank you very much!" The Mythrol said to Mando Ren with a smile, going to grab his credits off of the table he sat at. "You have my heartfelt gratitude."
Mando Ren simply stared down at the seated Mythrol, his blaster having been holstered.
The Mythrol, stuttering a bit under Mando's silent stare, spread his arms out before speaking. "You know what? Here." The Mythrol said as he slid over his credits towards Mando Ren. "You take my credits. Buy yourself a drink."
Mando Ren then placed a small, metallic puck onto the table. The Mythrol looked at the puck as it beeped on, the top of it glowed blue before showing a hologram of the Mythrol's face with an alien language written above and below the hologram of the Mythrol, the aliens letters in red.
__________________________
"What's that?" Jaune asked.
"Well, it's obviously a hologram of the Mythrol." Blake plainly said before furrowing her eyes at the alien lettering. "My question is what do those strange letters in red mean."
Ozpin furrowed his eyes a bit at the hologram before speaking his thoughts. "I think I know what it is."
Roman and Neo looked at each other, recognizing a wanted poster when they saw one, even if it was in an alien language.
"Uh-oh." Roman commented, getting the attention of some of the other audience members.
"Uh-oh? What do you mean 'Uh-oh'?" Ruby asked Roman.
"I don't think Mando here is about to be any help to fish face." Roman commented as the viewing continued.
__________________________
The Mythrol gave out a small and short nervous chuckle before speaking. "Oh. Is that a bounty puck?" He asked.
Mando Ren simply continued to look at the Mythrol in silence, the Mythrol and the audience only being able to see the pink tinted visor of Ren's helmet. No one able to ascertain what his actual face showed.
__________________________
"A bounty puck?" Ruby asked. "Well if that's what it is, that means the Mythrol might be a criminal."
"And that also might mean my Mandalorian self is also a bounty hunter." Ren calmly said. "Meaning that, in a sense, I'm a bit of a criminal myself."
"Hmm. Bounty hunters." Port said with furrowed eyes. "I mean no disrespect, Mr. Ren, but bounty hunters aren't exactly the most noble of huntsmen."
"None taken." Ren replied to the history professor. "I just hope my counterpart doesn't do anything crooked."
"Well, if Mandalorians are a warrior race, perhaps your counterpart was raised to be more honorable than most people." Pyrrha suggested to Ren.
"I do hope that will be the case." Ren replied to her.
__________________________
"Is that me?" The Mythrol asked as he pointed to the hologram. Once again, there was no answer, prompting the Mythrol to sigh. "Look... Uh, there must be some mistake. I can get you more credits."
Just then, Mandalorian Ren spoke. "I can bring you in warm..." he started as he moved his hand to his holstered blaster. "Or I can bring you in cold."
__________________________
"Woah. Ren, you definitely sound a lot older." Nora said, replaying the sound of Mando Ren's more gruff voice inside her head. Noting to make sure she would remember it for... certain private occasions.
"I see that..." Ren said as he trailed off in thought, noting how his alternate, more older self sounded more so like his father, Li Ren.
"Man, talk about a badass one-liner." Yang said with a smirk. "Heck, it sounds more like a badass catchphrase."
"It sounds like something Uncle Qrow would say." Ruby added to her sister's statement.
"I never thought I'd see the day when Ren would threaten to kill someone." Jaune commented with wide eyes. "It's both scary and kind of awesome at the same time."
"Yeah, this guys definitely a bounty hunter." Roman stated with a nod while Neo smirked. "And from the sounds of things, a professional too."
__________________________
There was a moment of silence as the Mythrol looked to Mando's blaster before looking up at Mando himself.
The screen went to black while showing a title in dirty gold, a gritty cowboy-esc theme playing in the background at the same time.
____THE____
MANDALORIAN
__________________________
"The Mandalorian." Blake read off the viewing screen. "I guess that's the name of this story for the Star Wars universe. Even though we've only seen a small portion of it, I'm definitely interested in what else goes on in this universe."
"You can say that again." Yang said as she found herself tapping her fingers on the arm of her chair towards the beat of the current theme song playing. "Though this beat is awesome. It's like a mix between sci-fi and western music."
"It definitely has a more gritty, adventurous feeling to it, as opposed to other themes." Weiss said as she found herself lightly tapping her heels to the beat of the theme.
__________________________
The viewing immediately then cut to outside as Mando led the now handcuffed Mythrol across the wooden path, the wind howling as they walked.
The two eventually made it to the end of the path to see a hooded Kubaz ferryman sitting on a metallic box.
The Kubaz ferryman stood up and spoke to Mando in Kubazian, which sounded like a series of bleeps.
"I need passage to the yards." Mando Ren said to the ferryman.
The ferryman spoke Kubazian in acknowledgement as he pulled out a flute like device, playing a note through it.
__________________________
"What is that funky guy?" Nora asked. "He sounds weird. Like he's speaking with bleeps and bloops."
"That is a Kubaz." Vortech said. "An alien species from the planet Kubindi. Think of them as bipedal, sentient ant-eaters, seeing as how their diets consist of insects, which they use their long snouts to catch."
"I gotta say, these aliens seem a little surreal." Blake said. "From what we've seen so far, they're like reverse Faunus. Instead of people with animal traits, they're a little like animals that are humanoid and shape."
"It's a very wide galaxy." Vortech stated. "We've barely even begun to scratch the surface as to what lives in it."
"The cultural knowledge from each planet and species alone must seem endless." Oobleck commented. "I certainly am thrilled for more to come."
__________________________
Just then, a shiny golden landspeeder came hovering in, said landspeeder being piloted by a blue and gold astromech droid. The droid turned its head to Mando, grunting in beeps.
__________________________
"What kind of mode of transportation is that?" Port asked.
"A landspeeder. A civilian mode of transport." Vortech answered the portly professor. "A known fact about this universe is that the majority of transportation either flys or hovers. The only vehicles in this universe with wheels are a few types of tanks orground transports, but that's about it."
"So it's as if people replaced wheels with gravity Dust in this universe?" Weiss asked.
"Well, more so using a different fuel source entirely since Dust doesn't exist in this universe. Let alone Aura." Vortech replied back.
"There isn't any Dust or Aura in this universe?" Ruby asked with wide eyes.
"There isn't in many of the universes I'll be showing you." Vortech said. "People get by with different resources in different universes."
"Huh." Ruby said as she tried to imagine what kind of fuel other people would use other than Dust.
When Ozpin heard what Vortech said, he started to think to himself. "I suppose I should have expected this. I doubt the Brother Gods would have created any other worlds, given how they were disappointed in how humanity was so easily swayed by greed and just for power. Though it is still surprising nonetheless."
"By the way, what's the robot in the landspeeder?" Yang asked in regards to the astromech. "It kind of looks cute."
"Astromech droid." Vortech answered her. "A type of repair droid that serves as automated mechanics for starships, or, in this case, pilots for modes of transportation."
"Neat." Yang replied.
__________________________
Mando looked at the astromech before looking back to the Kubaz ferryman. "No droids."
"I assure you, this speeder is brand new. It's the latest model..." The ferryman said to Mando in Kubazian as he pointed his hand towards the landspeeder.
As the ferryman spoke, Mando Ren simply pulled out a credit from his pocket, tossing it over to the Kubaz as the ferryman caught it in his hand.
The Kubaz ferryman looked at the credit before looking back to Mando. "At your pleasure."
The ferryman then played another note on his flute like device, prompting for the astromech piloted landspeeder to hover off with the droid grunting in beeps.
__________________________
"Wait, why doesn't Mando like droids?" Ruby asked. "That astromech looked friendly and cute."
"I too wish to know what issues my counterpart has with droids." Ren said to Vortech.
"I would tell you..." Vortech started as he trailed off. "But, I'm afraid that you'll have to wait to see as this story progresses. I can't give spoilers."
"Very well." Ren conceded, more than fine to wait and see what the reason for his counterpart's dislike of droids was caused by.
__________________________
Just then, a red, more rustic landspeeder came hovering in. It's four engines sputtering with some smaller parts clanging off at the bottom as the pilot was shown to be a hooded, full bearded human wearing goggles
The landspeeder pilot looked at the Mandalorian Ren. "Where to?"
__________________________
"Ooh. Should have just gone with the landspeeder piloted by the droid." Roman said with a grimace. "This one looks like a death trap waiting to happen."
"That guy needs to take better care of his engines." Yang said in regards to the red landspeeder. "I know I'd never forgive myself if I let Bumblebee fall into disrepair."
__________________________
Through a slide away transition, the viewing changes to Mando and the Mythrol sitting in the back seat of the landspeeder as the pilot drove them across the sea of ice.
The pilot exhaled as he looked around the oncoming area with a pair of advanced binoculars, spotting several ships up ahead.
The Mythrol noticed this, and decided to make conversation as he looked over to Ren. "You know what he's looking for?"
The Mythrol then leaned in as he spoke to the pilot. "You're looking for Ravinacks, right?"
"It's clear right now." The pilot called back to the Mythrol. "But be careful near the port. Everyone dumps their Gray Holds out. They think the whole entire planet is their own personal stink pit."
__________________________
"Wait, what are gray holds?" Ruby asked with furrowed eyes. "They sound kind of like toilet water... please tell me people aren't dumping out their toilet water on the ice."
"Gray holds actually have everything except organic waste." Vortech stated. "It's a form of dirty water found on starships."
"I guess hygiene isn't a big thing in this universe." Weiss said with a small grimace on her face.
"Gray holds aside, I'm interested in these Ravinaks they're speaking of." Port said as he stroked his mustache. "They sound like they could be quite the challenge."
"They're a carnivorous sea-based mammal on Maldo Kreis." Vortech told Port. "As to their appearance... well, you'll all see soon enough."
__________________________
The pilot continued to drive the landspeeder towards the ports as the Mythrol saw that he was pulling up to a large and long, rounded and rustic, silver gunship with a few dirty gold paint decals on each side. The gunship had its landing gear out as the cockpit was large, making it seem the front of the gunship had a hump. Right below the cockpit were laser cannons. The gunship also had two large engines jutting out on each side.
The pilot pulled up to the ship and halted the landspeeder. "Here you are."
Mando Ren and the Mythrol looked at the ship before the Mythrol looked at Mando. "You're kidding me, right?"
"Get out." Was all Mando told him before he himself hopped out of the landspeeder.
"I'll hire us a Livery Cruiser." The Mythrol offered as Mando helped him out of the landspeeder. "No big deal. It won't come out of your end. I'll pay for it."
Mando merely pushed him towards the gunship, prompting the Mythrol to walk towards it. "I'm just trying to make it pleasant."

"I don't know why the Mythrol is complaining. That ship looks like one sweet ride." Yang said as she smirked towards Mando's gunship. "Even though I have no idea what it is."
"Judging from the way it's built, I'd say it's kind of like a bulkier, more advanced bullhead." Ruby said as she looked at the gunship, particularly eyeing the laser cannon right below the cockpit.
"While the ship does seem a bit rustic in design, especially when compared to the designs of Atlas ships, it does have a nice sleekness to it, and it doesn't look all that bad if I'm being honest." Weiss observed. "While I wouldn't say it's up towards my tastes, I would definitely fly in it without complaint if it was the only option."
"I wouldn't exactly call myself someone that seeks to keep up in trends." Ren stated as he observed his Mandalorian counterpart's gunship. "So long as something functions properly, I am fine with it."
__________________________
The pilot looked to the outskirts of the port with his binoculars before looking back to Mando Ren. "Hey, it's time to go, so let's settle up."
Mando proceeded to hand the pilot a few coins before the pilot pocketed the payment, Ren walking over his ship.
"I'd stay off the ice if I were you." The pilot warned Mando before starting up his landspeeder and driving off.
"You think there's really something to worry about?" The Mythrol asked Mando, only to receive no reply as Ren walked to his ship.
__________________________
"I guess that depends on what it is you oughta be worrying about." Roman said to the Mythrol on-screen. "The potential, carnivorous animals, or the bounty hunter that isn't replying to you whatsoever."
"I'd say he has to be more worried about Ren than some alien animal." Nora boasted in regards to her partner. "Ren's taken out tons of Grimm, like a King Taijitu."
"I was able to do that thanks to training combined with my aura and semblance, Nora." Ren reminded his partner and old friend. "You have to remember that aura, and thereby semblances, do not exist in this universe. So it will take a lot more for my counterpart to take on a large carnivorous creature."
"Oh, quit being so humble, will ya? Mando's gonna take on whatever comes his way. Ican see it already." Nora said with a proud smirk.
Ren lightly rolled his eyes as his childhood friend, but couldn't but shake his head with a small smile.
__________________________
The Mythrol then looked back towards the red landspeeder as it continued to shrink in the distance. The Mythrol walked forward a bit, squinting his eyes as he watched the landspeeder continue to drive off.
Just then, a creature, most presumably a Ravinak, broke up and out of the ice, catching the landspeeder, and its pilot, within its jaws before dragging it down to the watery sea below. The Ravinak's roar loud enough to be heard by the Mythrol.
__________________________
"Woah! Was not expecting that." Jaune said with wide eyes at the sudden death of the landspeeder pilot.
"Oh come on. What did he do to deserve to get eaten?" Ruby complained towards the pilot's death.
"For someone who warned Mando and the Mythrol to stay off the ice, he really should have been more adherent in his own advice." Blake said with a small grimace.
"Given the size of the landspeeder this Ravinak sank, added with the volume of its roar, I would estimate that this creature is nearly the size of an Ursa Major. If not slightly larger." Oobleck theorized based on what they all saw.
"Size matters not to a true warrior." Port boasted in pride. "Just give me my axe, and I'll tussle such a creature to the death."
"And seeing as how you can't swim, I would say it would be your death." Glynda plainly replied to Port, prompting him to stutter in embarrassment.
__________________________
The Mythrol started to freak out and scream before running over to the gunship, yelling out to Mando. "Open the hatch! Open the hatch!"
The Mythrol ran over to the gunship, quick to lay down against one of the landing gears.
Meanwhile, the Ravinak growled as it swam its way over to the gunship, cracking and breaking the ice up as it swam closer to breaching the surface.
The Mythrol was breathing heavily, frozen in fear and watching as the Ravinak drew closer and closer to the gunship. Eventually his fear got the best of him, and he screamed in terror just as the Ravinak got ready to pounce at him from out of the water.
However, to the Mythrol's fortune, Mandalorian Ren came out from the ship and pulled the Mythrol off of the landing gear, just as the Ravinak broke through the ice and jumped out of the water, lunging with a roar as it bite down on the landing gear. The Ravinak itself was large in size, having two large tusks in its mouth, a blowhole atop its head, and grey skin with scales running down its back, its paws having sharp claws at the end of them. Overall, the Ravinak seemed like some cross between a crocodile, a walrus, and a whale.
__________________________
"Hello ugly." Roman said with slightly wide eyes towards the appearance of the Ravinak.
"Yes, definitely larger than an Ursa Major." Oobleck scribbled in his notes.
"Well there's one fish Blake won't be eating anytime soon." Yang joked.
Blake looked at the Ravinak for a moment, thinking it over in her head before numbly replying to her partner. "I could probably try."
"Of course you would." Yang deadpanned towards the cat faunus.
"At least Mando was able to save the Mythrol from the Ravinak." Ruby sighed in relief. "I've never seen anyone get eaten before, and I don't intend to now."
"Now all Mando had to do is start up his ship and get off of the ice, like the pilot said." Weiss stated as the viewing continued.
__________________________
Within the gunship, the cuffed Mythrol hurriedly entered the cockpit with Ren right behind him, the former complaining the entire time.
"Dank farrik, that was close!" The Mythrol exclaimed as he sat in a passage seat, cowering in fear towards the Ravinak. "Oh, my God. Oh, my God."
__________________________
"Dank farrik?" Glynda asked with a raised brow.
"A swear word commonly used by people living in the Outer Rim territories of the galaxy." Vortech answered her.
"I could understand that it was a swear just from the Mythrol's attitude." Glynda told Vortech. "I meant what does it mean?"
"I honestly don't know." Vortech said with a shrug. "I just know it's used in times of frustration and fear."
"Yeah, we have a similar word on Remnant, but if I say it now, I'm gonna have to owe Ruby five lien." Yang stated in regards to a certain swear word that started with the letter "F."
"About these Outer Rim territories you spoke of." Ozpin said to Vortech. "What exactly makes them outer rim in the first place?"
"Outer Rim territories are planets that don't belong with planets near the center of the galaxy." Vortech replied to the headmaster of Beacon. "Generally, planets that don't fall under the jurisdiction of the New Republic."
"I take it that this New Republic is the ruling government?" Ozpin asked, receiving a nod from Vortech as Oobleck continued to jot down notes. "I must say, it's almost hard to believe that such a government can span across more than one planet."
"Like I said, it's a large galaxy." Vortech replied. "In order to keep the peace, there has to be a singular reigning government to keep other groups or civilizations from going to war with others."
__________________________
As Mando Ren took his spot in the pilot's seat, flipping some switches and pressing some buttons to get the gunship ready, the Mythrol continued to go about his near-death experience.
"'Stay off the ice.'" The Mythrol quoted the now deceased landspeeder pilot. "That's the understatement of the millennium."
The Mythrol started to breath heavily as Mando took hold of the starting controls, starting to raise his ship off of the icey ground. However, before he could do so, the gunship was halted with a thud throwing the two passengers forward a bit as the Mythrol grunted from the shock.
Warning signals went off in the cockpit as the Mythrol continued to panic in fear. "It's taking us down. What're you doing?"
__________________________
"Looks like that Ravinak found itself a new chew toy." Roman commented.
"Oh, come on. Let go of Mando's ship you big lizard." Nora said with a scowl towards the Ravinak.
"How is Mando going to be able to get rid of the Ravinak?" Pyrrha asked. "It doesn't look like he has any high caliber weapons inside his ship, and the cannons aren't in the line of sight to fire at the Ravinak."
"Well, he's gotta have something." Jaune said. "I mean, if this version of Ren is a bounty hunter, he's gotta have something to help in situations like this."
"I hope that's the case." Pyrrha said as she became a bit worried for the counterpart of her friend.
__________________________
Mando pressed a few buttons, and flipped a few switches, seeing if that would be enough to help get his ship away from the Ravinak's pull. There was no such luck as the ship halted again as it tried to take flight. The ship's alarm beeped as Ren titled his head in annoyance.
"It's got us. It's gonna take us under." The Mythrol continued to say in fear.
Mando flipped a switch on the cockpit overhead before turning his chair around and getting out of his seat, walking towards the exit of the cockpit.
"Where are you going?" The Mythrol asked as Mando moved through the automatic sliding door of the cockpit. "You gotta do something! We gotta get out of here!"
Mandalorian Ren grabbed a weapon that was situated by the door of the cockpit, walking away from the area as the cockpit door closed. The weapon Mando had grabbed seemed to be some form of the elongated rifle.
__________________________
"If you be quiet for one minute, you can see that Mando already has a plan." Nora spoke to the Mythrol.
"You know, I would say to just throw the Mythrol to the Ravinak, but at the same time, Mando's gotta get paid." Roman said as he was getting annoyed from the Mythrol's constant complaining and worrying.
"What kind of weapons is that?" Ruby asked as she observed Mando's rifle as close as she could without getting out of her seat. "It looks like some sort of elongated rifle at the end, but what's the prod at the end of the barrel?"
"I do believe we are about to find out." Ren said to Ruby as the viewing continued.
__________________________
The Mythrol got up from his seat, walking over to the left side of the cockpit, looking out and gasping to see that the Ravinak was still trying to pull the ship under. Meanwhile, with Ren, he climbed down the ladder to the cockpit area, soon making his way to the opened entrance to his ship. Mando looked as the Ravinak was pulled down on the landing gear, growling and splashing water up in the process.
The ship shook as the Ravinak continued to pull on the landing gear, Ren having to hold onto the side of the ship's entrance to keep himself steady. The moment he got back his balance, Mando moved his rifle towards the Ravinak, triggering it to fire out a large taser voltage. The Ravinak roared in pain as the electric charge flowed throughout its body, prompting it to let go of the ship's landing gear, and to dive back into icey waters.
__________________________
"Huh. So his rifle works as a really powerful electric cattle prod." Ruby said as she watched the electricity soar throughout the Ravinak. "Does it also work as a rifle, or can it do other stuff?"
"Oh believe me. It does more than just taser and shoot things." Vortech told the young Rose. "But you'll see what else it can do at a later date."
"Are you sure you can't just tell me now?" Ruby asked Vortech, blinking her eyes rapidly while purposely putting on a cute, pleading look.
"Aw, are you just adorable." Vortech mocked-swooned over Ruby's face. "But the answer is still no."
"Dang it." Ruby cursed with a snap of her fingers.
"You can't win 'em all, sis." Yang said as she patted Ruby on the back.
"Regardless of the weapon, this version of Ren had thus far shown skill, patience, and adaptability." Glynda said in observation of Mando. "Overall, the makings of a true huntsman. Even if this version of Mr. Ren is a bounty hunter."
Hearing this out a small smile on Ren's face as Jaune, Pyrrha, and Nora all smiled in support of him. Pyrrha simply smiling with Jaune giving Ren a thumbs up, and Nora lightly elbowing Ren in the shoulder as she held the brightest smile towards him.
__________________________
With the issue of the Ravinak taken care of, the gunship was finally able to take off, Mando closing the entrance door to his ship in the process.
Ren had just entered back into the cockpit, taking his seat as the Mythrol ushered Mando to get the gunship away from the planet.
"Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go. Let's go." The Mythrol repeated as Ren took his seat, flipping some switches and taking hold of the steering controls once more. "Yes. Alright."
The Mythrol exhaled in relief as Mando turned off the alarm, flying his gunship through the sky of Maldo Kreis before flying upwards.
The viewing now showed the gunship flying through the endless void of space, the faint images of stars being all that could be seen for miles and miles.
__________________________
"Wow." Ruby said in awe upon seeing the stars and space.
"You can say that again." Yang said to Ruby in agreement to what everyone was seeing.
"Wow." Ruby numbly repeated.
"This is certainly almost better than looking at the stars from a telescope." Weiss as she too was awestruck. "The scenery simply looks breathtaking."
"If only we could understand the fuel source the people in this universe use to traverse the stars." Oobleck stated as he stared off into space. "Maybe then we could get a more first hand appreciation of what we are currently seeing."
__________________________
Back in the cockpit, the Mythrol looked at Mando, moving his eyes a bit before exhaling. "Whew."
The Mythrol watched as Mando Ren flew his gunship in silence. The Mythrol then leaned forward in his seat, speaking to Mando. "I like your ship. She's a classic."
The Mythrol looked around the cockpit with the best smile he could muster before speaking once more. "Razor Crest, am I right? Pre-Empire?"
__________________________
"Razor Crest?" Yang asked before she smirked. "I approve."
"I wonder why it's called the Razor Crest though?" Blake asked. "The ship doesn't really have crest, unless you count the hump that the cockpit makes, maybe you could consider that like a sagittal crest, but the ship looks far from sharp."
"Ah, who cares. It's a kick-ass name." Yang said as she declined in her chair.
"I care. I literally just said that I wanted to know why the ship is called the Razor Crest." Blake told her partner with furrowed eyes.
"You know what I mean, Blake." Yang waved off the cat faunus as the viewing continued.
__________________________
Even though the Mythrol asked his questions, Ren did not budge, did not even attempt in moving to speak to his bounty.
"I have a lot of credits, by the way." The Most continued to speak. "That's why I offered to hail a Cruiser."
Once again, there was nothing but silence from Mandalorian Ren, prompting the Mythrol to sigh.
"How much are they paying you?" The Mythrol decided to ask.
Once again, there was no answer. It was here that the Mythrol decided to ask a different question. "Is it true you guys never take off your helmets?"
__________________________
"Mando's good, I'll give you that." Roman commented to Mando. "If I had to listen to someone that annoying the entire time, I would have either killed him, or myself at this point."
Ren chose to ignore the comment Roman made before looking to Vortech. "Is the Mythrol inferring that Mandalorians never remove their helmets?"
"It's a cultural phenomenon." Vortech told Ren. "However, it is a bit complicated to explain. But don't worry. You will all find out in time."
"I must say, these Mandalorians are becoming more and more interesting by the minute." Oobleck said as he continued to write in his notebook.
__________________________
As such as before, there was nothing but silence coming from Ren. The Mythrol leaned back in his seat as he glanced down to the side in slight nervousness.
The awkward silence of the situation prompted the Mythrol to exhale. "Boy."
After another moment of silence, the Mythrol spoke once more. "I think I have to use the vacc tube. I mean I can do it here, but if you've never seen a Fledgling Mythrol evacuate their thorax, you're a lucky guy, trust me."
Mando simply responded by flipping a switch on the dashboard, still unresponsive. The Mythrol clicked his tongue as got up from his seat, pointing to the cockpit exit. "Clearly, there's nowhere for me to go. So, uh... I'm gonna look for that vacc tube if it's all the same to you?"
__________________________
"From the sound of things, I take it a vacc tube is some form of starship toilet?" Ozpin asked.
Vortech merely nodded to Ozpin as an answer.
Meanwhile, Roman stared at the viewing screen for a moment before speaking up for everyone to hear his voice. "Okay, we can all agree that fish face is trying to escape, right?"
"Oh, definitely." Ozpin replied to the criminal.
"For sure." Jaune said.
"Could it be any more obvious?" Blake rhetorically asked as everyone pretty agreed with Roman's statement.
"My question is how does the Mythrol think he's going to escape?" Ruby wondered aloud.
"Well, the Razor Crest is equipped with an escape pod." Vortech informed the audience. "However, he'll be looking in all the wrong places."
"Yeah, things are not about to go well for the Mythrol." Yang said with a shake of her head.
__________________________
There was silence still, prompting the Mythrol to nod his head with a nervous chuckle. "Great."
The cuffed Mythrol walked to the automatic door of the cockpit, said door sliding open as the Mythrol glanced back at Mando Ren before going through the door. The doors closed upon the Mythrol leaving while Mando simply looked on through space.
Climbing down the ladder to the cockpit, the Mythrol looked back up before looking down to the side to see what looked like a toilet seat before looking back up and calling out to Ren. "Found it! Thanks. It might take a while. I'm molting."
__________________________
"He's really trying to sell it, isn't he?" Weiss asked in regards to the Mythrol.
"If he really wants to look for a way off of the Razor Crest, he should at least calm down his nerves." Blake said. "I'm pretty sure Mando knows he's trying to find a way off of his ship.
Oobleck, however, had something else on his mind. "Now, when the Mythrol said he was molting, do Mythrols actually molt?"
"They actually do." Vortech answered Oobleck. "After they molt, Mythrols grow barbs on their face."
"I see." Oobleck nodded in understanding.
__________________________
After saying this, the Mythrol looked around the area he was in, trying to find some way off of the ship before he noticed an automatic closet in the hangar. The Mythrol then moved to a nearby keypad, punching in a few numbers which caused the closet doors to swing open, revealing that Ren had various hand held blasters in his arsenal.
The Mythrol looked at the weapons, seeing that he didn't find what he was looking for before punching in numbers on the keypad once more, closing the closet doors.
The Mythrol then looked back up the ladder, speaking to Mando Ren as to make sure the bounty hunter wouldn't get suspicious of the Mythrol's silence. "Oh, this feels a lot better. I haven't evacuated since the solstice."
The Mythrol then started to wander around the ship, continuing in his search for some way off of it. He exhaled as he walked along the hangar, noticing several large slabs of metal being held in place on the right side of the hangar.
"Yeah. I was hoping to be free for Life Day." The Mythrol said as he slowly made his way to the metal slabs.
__________________________
"Mando has a lot of weapons." Nora stated.
'One of the best racks I've ever seen.' Neo signed with a suggestive smirk.
"Well, as a bounty hunter, my counterpart would have to be prepared." Ren told Nora. However he had turned his head beforehand and noticed what Neo had signed. It had caused him to blush ever so slightly, and since his semblance was deactivated, he couldn't regulate his emotions.
"I must ask, what are those metal slabs hanging on the side of the hangar?" Port asked with furrowed eyes.
"I can't really tell." Ozpin said as he tried to observe the slabs. "We could assume, for the time being, that the slabs are racks for more weapons. But until we actually get to see the slabs, we can't be certain."
Ruby squinted her eyes at the slabs as she too tried to figure out what they were. "I don't think they're weapons racks..."
__________________________
"Maybe even, uh..." The Mythrol continued to speak until he got to one of the slabs, pausing in his words as the slab he walked up to was revealed to be a Rodian frozen in carbonite.
The Mythrol moved to another slab to see a human male frozen in carbonite as well. "Get home to the family."
__________________________
"What the..." Ruby trailed off as she looked at the frozen individual in carbonite with wide eyes.
In fact, many in the audience shared similar feelings towards what they were seeing before them.
"What... What are these?" Glynda asked in shock and horror.
"Are they... dead?" Nora hesitated to ask.
"No, the individuals in the slabs are very much alive." Vortech said. "They have been placed in Carbonite freezing. Try to imagine it as if being buried alive in concrete, unable to move, while also placed into a deep sleep."
"That sounds horrible." Pyrrha said with a grimace. "Almost like a living death."
"Yeah, I think I'd prefer a regular prison cell as opposed to... that." Roman said in slight fear towards the people in carbonite, an image of himself frozen in the same substance flashing in his mind for a moment.
Ren was also disturbed by the people in carbonite, wondering how cold his Mandalorian self just exactly was. "Can they... be unfrozen from the carbonite?"
"Yes." Vortech said, alleviating everyone's worries a bit. "Though there are effects from the carbonite that the bounties will have to get over. One of these effects include temporary blindness."
"I don't think I could ever want anyone placed in carbonite." Ruby said with a frown. "It just sounds way too unpleasant."
__________________________
The Mythrol walked to another slab of metal, turning it a bit to see another human male frozen in carbonite, a look of fear on his face as he did so, not noticing that Mandalorian Ren had stealthily walked up behind him. "But I guess that's not gonna happen this year."
"Probably not." Ren finally spoke back to the Mythrol, prompting the Mythrol to look at him in surprise.
__________________________
"He just came out of nowhere." Roman said in surprise.
'My kind of bad-ass.' Neo signed with a smile.
"Yeah, that Mythrol's screwed." Yang commented.
"I wonder how the Mythrol didn't hear Ren coming up behind him?" Jaune questioned. "Mando's boots click every time he walks."
"I'd guess the Mythrol was frozen in fear." Blake said. "People can become numb to outside occurrences when they focus too much on one thing."
__________________________
Mando Ren then grabbed the Mythrol by the collar and forced him into an empty carbonite slab, from which the Mythrol groaned as he was blasted on all sides by carbonite spray. When the smoke cleared, the Mythrol was frozen in carbonite as well as Mando made his way back to the cockpit of the Razor Crest.
The viewing cut to the Razor Crest flying towards another planet whose surface seemed grey in color
__________________________
"Oh, yeah. Definitely unpleasant." Ruby said as everyone held their own grimace as to how the Mythrol was frozen in carbonite.
"This looks like something James would try to use on criminals." Glynda muttered to Ozpin with a grimace.
"I would like to believe he wouldn't try sucede to such a notion, but given the airships he brought to Vale, it also wouldn't be impossible to put it past him." Ozpin muttered back to Glynda with a frown. "Even though I do wish James doesn't go too far one of these days."
__________________________
As Mando enters the atmosphere, flying through clouds, he clicks a few buttons and switches as he flies the Razor Crest towards a town down upon the planet's surface. Soon enough, Ren activates the landing gear as he sets the Razor Crest onto the ground, kicking up a bit of wind in the process.
The viewing changed to the entrance of the town, people indistinctly chattering amongst themselves as Mando walks through the streets. All around him were some droids and various species from across the galaxy.
__________________________
"Looks like we get to see another planet." Pyrrha pointed out, trying to bury the recent events of the carbonite freezing in her mind.
"With quite the diverse population, one might add." Oobleck stated as he and the audience spotted all sorts of new aliens and droids.
"This is the planet Nevarro." Vortech explained to the audience. "It is known as a volcanic planet. This town is one of the few safer places to live in on that world."
"A volcanic planet?" Jaune asked. "I couldn't imagine what life would be like there."
"Nevarro is one of the more tame volcanic planets in this galaxy." Vortech told the young Arc. "If there's one volcanic planet that is far more dangerous than most others, that would be the fiery planet Mustafar. And before any of you ask, it is a planet you will get to see later on in this universe."
__________________________
The viewing then cut to inside a cantina as various beings conversed with each other in alien languages. Their overall attire showed that these people were most likely bounty hunters, same as Mandalorian Ren.
Speaking of Ren, he eventually entered the cantina, people still conversing with each other in alien languages as a few of the patrons looked at Mando as he walked by, one of which was a Trandoshan that softly growled at Ren.
__________________________
"Judging by the stances and appearances of everyone in that cantina, I think it's safe to assume they are bounty hunters, much like my alternate self." Ren observed from the scene.
"A lot of mean faces too." Yang commented before muttering to herself. "And I thought people that came into Junior's club had some weird looks."
"Regardless of some of these hunter's more gruesome appearances, it is interesting nonetheless to see more alien species." Weiss added in.
"I guess Nevarro is a common ground for trade, maybe." Blake suggested before the viewing continued.
__________________________
Mando soon walks over to a booth where a brown-skinned man with a mustache was shown sitting, dressed with a vest over a shirt, all under an open jacket, along with pants, boots, gloves, and a belt. This man was Greef Karga.
"Ah, that was fast." Greef commented as Mando walked over. "Did you catch them all?"
Mando responded by placing down his tracking fobs into the table.
Greef looked at the fobs before picking them up. "Good. I'll begin the off-load."
__________________________
"Who's he?" Nora asked.
"Greef Karga. An agent of the Bounty Hunter's Guild." Vortech answered the ginger bomber. "He oversees the majority of payments and job offers on Nevarro."
"Huh. Kind of like Junior." Roman muttered as Neo nodded in agreement with him.
"So I take it that means I'm in the Bounty Hunter's Guild as well?" Ren asked.
"One of the most proficient in the galaxy." Vortech answered the ninja boy.
__________________________
Greef then looked over to an alien standing along the wall of the cantina, calling out to him in Huttese. The alien nodded and walked off, presumably to get off-load ready for Mando's bounties.
Mando Ren proceeded to unstrap his rifle, sitting it in his lap as he took a seat at the booth Greef was situated at. Greef then placed down a few credits into the table, most likely Ren's payment.
Mando looked down at the credits before looking back up at Greef, speaking in a voice that sounded displeased. "These are Imperial Credits."
"They still spend." Greef said.
"I don't know if you heard, but the Empire is gone." Ren told Greef.
Greef responded by leaning his arm against the back of his seat, tapping his hand on the table a bit as he replied. "It's all I've got."
__________________________
"From the sound of things, this Empire was the previous government in the galaxy." Roman observed from Mando's conversation with Greef. "And since they're no longer in control, their currency doesn't work that well."
"That Mythrol also said something about this Empire." Glynda pointed out. "He said the Razor Crest was made before whatever this Empire was."
"The Empire was indeed the leading government of the galaxy for around 23 years before the age of the New Republic." Vortech explained. "The Empire was a very strict and powerful government with... not so friendly individuals."
"How 'not so friendly' are we talking about?" Ruby meekly asked Vortech.
"Try to think up as many cruel, cold, strict, or otherwise corrupt individuals as you can." Vortech told her, and by association of ear distance, the audience. "Those were who made up the Empire."
'I can already think of someone.' Neo signed as her thoughts immediately ran towards a certain amber-eyed woman with ashen black hair and a red dress.
"How could such a government come to fruition? Surely the people would have gone against it the moment it started." Weiss stated as she immediately thought of her father, and she could picture him as a leading figure in this Empire.
"It's much more difficult to describe it." Vortech replied to the heiress. "There were many variables and actions that had taken place that cemented the Empire's rise to power. You will all see soon enough in time, but for now let us focus on the present timeline at hand."
__________________________
Hearing this, Mando decided to take back the fobs. But before he could do so, Greef halted him with his hand.
"Save the theatrics." Greef told Mando.
Mando looked back at Greef as Greef glanced his eyes around a bit before speaking. "Fine, I'll..."
Greef then pulled something out from his pocket, setting onto the table. What it looked like were small, round, and soft blue and white pucks.
"I can do Calamri Flan." Greef said to Ren. "But I can only pay half."
Mando looked at Greef for a moment before speaking. "Fine." He said as he went to put the fobs back down and pick up the Flan, after which Greef took hold of the fobs.
__________________________
"You drive a hard bargain, kid." Roman called out to Ren. "I like it."
"Thanks... I guess?" Ren asked in uncertainty towards the criminal.
"Of course Mando's gonna drive a hard bargain. You gotta pay the right amount for quality." Nora said with a smirk.
"That has to be some of the strangest currency I have ever seen." Blake said in regard to the Calamari Flan.
"It's the common currency of Mon Cala." Vortech told the cat faunus.
"Oh, the planet where the Quarren live." Ruby remembered.
"Quite right." Vortech complemented Ruby as the viewing went on.
__________________________
Back about the Razor Crest, vested workers wearing head capes with disks upon their backs started to scan the carbonite slabs before loading them off the gunship. The slabs being hovered off from the end of the Razor Crest as a few of them thudded into each other.
Back in the cantina, Greef started to show off some bounty pucks to Mandalorian Ren, listing them as he went on.
"Hmm. I have a bail jumper... a bail jumper, another bail jumper, a wanted smuggler." Greef continued to show Mando what bounty pucks he currently had.
"I'll take them all." Mando Ren said as he went to grab the pucks.
"No. Hold on." Greef told Mando as he stopped him was grabbing all the pucks. "There are other members of the Guild, and this is all I have."
"Why so slow?" Ren asked.
"It's not slow at all, actually. Very busy." Greef informed Mando. "They just don't want to pay Guild rates. They don't mind if things get sloppy."
__________________________
"Ah, so they're being hired by a bunch of cheapskates." Roman nodded his head in understanding. "The Guild's selling, but they ain't getting much in return. That's some bad business if I've ever heard it."
"Yeesh. I hope we never have to deal with that when we become Huntresses." Yang whispered to her team. "I'm not in it for the money, but we still gotta have enough cash for gear and whatnot."
"You only have to deal with that possibility when you take personal jobs from specific people." Blake told Yang. "The councils pay you for the jobs you do for the kingdoms."
"Ah." Yang said as she nodded her head in understanding.

Conceding to this for a moment, Mando spoke in response to Greef. "What's your highest bounty?"
"Not much." Greef answered. "Five thousand."
"That won't even cover fuel these days." Mando stated.
__________________________
"Five thousand won't even cover fuel?" Weiss asked, flabbergasted.
"The Razor Crest probably requires a large amount of fuel." Pyrrha suggested. "That, or it generally costs a lot to fuel starships."
"Whatever the reason is, five thousand isn't going to help Mando anything soon." Jaune commented as the viewing continued.
__________________________
"Hmm." Greef hummed as he looked down in thought, clicking his tongue before looking back at Mando. "There is one job."
Upon saying this, it would seem that different pairs of eyes focused on Greef and Mando's conversation.
__________________________
"Well, now..." Roman said with raised brow as he and Neo shared a look. "This oughta be something."
"From the looks of things, this job, whatever it is, isn't normal in terms of what usually happens in the bounty hunting guild." Glynda observed from the looks the other bounty hunters gave to Mando and Greef's conversation.
"Now it begs the question on what exactly this one job involves." Ozpin said to Glynda before looking back to the viewing screen.
__________________________
"Let's see the puck." Mando Ren said.
"No puck." Greef replied. "Face to face. Direct commission. Deep pocket."
"Underworld?" Mando asked.
Greef looked down before speaking. "All I know is no chain code." He said as he pulled out a card-like item from his pocket, holding it up to Ren. "Do you want the chit or not?"
Mando looked at Greef for a moment before grabbing the chit out of Greef's hand, inspecting it a bit before getting up from the table, slinging his rifle back over his shoulder as he walked out of the cantina. Greef watched Mando leave before looking down to count the fobs and his money.
__________________________
"This has gotta be some high value target." Roman said as he rubbed his chin in thought. "Best guess that this is the type of bounty that the client wants kept away from the eyes of the government."
"Of course Torchwick would be well versed in something like this." Weiss quietly spoke with an eye roll.
"I don't trust the looks of this." Blake muttered out. "This seems too much on the down-low to be anything good."
"I don't trust it either, but I can't control the actions of my alternate self." Ren said to Blake. "We'll just have to wait and see what this job is. And hopefully it won't be as bad we think it is."
"Let's hope it turns out that way." Jaune said with a nervous tone. "This is way beyond suspicious."

Back outside, Mando walked through the crowds of various aliens, some of which included Jawas trying to sell spare parts, everyone chattering indistinctly in alien languages.
Mando eventually made his way to an alleyway, from which he continued to walk on. The further he walked into the alley the less and less people there were. Mando eventually made his way down a small stone staircase, looking around until he happened upon a door with a small round hatch next to it. Mando proceeded to knock on the door.
Mando stepped back from the door, looking to see the small hatch open up to reveal what looked like a blinking, metal eye attached to a pole.
The Gatekeeper droid spoke in an alien language to Ren as Ren then pulled out the chit, holding it up for the Gatekeeper droid to scan with a beeping sound before speaking in an a-line language once more, closing its eye as it pulled itself back into the hatch.
__________________________
"What kind of robot is that?" Ruby asked with a raised brow. "It looks so... what's a word? Funky."
"Ah, the gatekeeper droid." Vortech said. "Droid designed as eye-stalks that are installed in doors and entryways to screen visitors. However, they have also earned the nickname of 'tattletale droids' due to their obnoxious demeanor in pursuit of filling their programming."
"It sounds like these droids must get really annoying to people." Glynda commented with crossed arms. "Though they probably would aid in better security. Besides, I work with obnoxious people all the time, so it wouldn't be anything new to me."
"I have the sense you're referring to a majority of people in this room." Ozpin told the deputy headmistress of Beacon.
Glynda merely gave Ozpin a deadpan stare in return, a clear sign towards what her answer would be.
"You know, I don't know why... but I suddenly have the urge to yank that droid out of the door." Nora said in curiosity.
"Oh good, I thought it was only me that was thinking it." Yang told Nora in relief.
Weiss rolled her eyes at the muscle of JNPR and RWBY. "You both have issues in needless destruction."
__________________________
The locking mechanism for the door started to clank from within before the door slid open, allowing Mando to walk inside before the door closed behind him.
Walking into a dark hallway, Mando was led by a GNK droid, all the way to a door at the end of the corridor. The door soon slid open several dirtied StormTroopers standing in a room on the other side, their arm white with black goggles to see through their helmets, all of them carrying blasters. The StormTroopers looked at Mando as Mando looked back at them. Mando walked into the room, the door closing behind him.
__________________________
"Okay, things just got awkwardly tense." Jaune commented on the feeling of the scene before looking to Vortech. "Who are these guys?"
"StormTroopers. The regular ground troops of the Empire." Vortech said in a dull remark to the Imperial troopers. "They may seem a little intimidating at first, but they're really about as useful as Vale police."
"Well that certainly paints a picture." Roman wise-cracked with a smirking chuckle. "No wonder this Empire fell out of power after around twenty years."
"Yeah, even though I don't want to agree with Torchwick, comparing these StormTroopers to the Vale police isn't really setting up high standards." Ruby warily agreed with Roman before muttering to herself off to the side. "Especially with how those two so-called detectives acted down at the docks."
"Now, the Vale police do the best they can... even if some don't even try." Ozpin said while speedily saying that last part off-handedly. "But that does raise the question of what it was that helped in keeping the Empire afloat from anyone seeking to go against them."
"What the Empire lacked in skilled troops, they made up for in devastating technology." Vortech stated. "Not to mention that there were a few subgroups of Troopers more skilled than your basic StormTrooper. And even I will admit that, in large groups, StormTroopers can do some damage."
"Well I guess it's a good thing that there's only four in the room." Blake said in regards to Mando only possibly having to deal with four StormTroopers.
__________________________
Sitting at a nearby desk was an elderly white man dressed with a jacket and an Imperial symbol upon his vest. This was presumably the client. The client clicked his tongue before speaking.
"Greef Karga said you were coming." The client said to Mando.
Mando looked towards the client before he slowly walked up to him, watching to make sure the StormTroopers wouldn't do anything funny. "What else did he say?"
"He said you were the best in the parsec." The client stated as the StormTroopers watched Mando continue to walk up to the contractor.
__________________________
"A parsec?" Oobleck asked.
"It's a unit of distance in this universe." Vortech told the green haired history teacher. "It equates to 3.26 light-years."
"I see..." Oobleck trailed off as he wrote in his notebook.
"Wait, how long of a distance is light-years?" Nora asked.
Ren looked to his partner as he leaned over to her. "Let's just say it's a very long distance."
"Meaning Ren is classified as the best bounty hunter in the area." Weiss elaborated to Nora.
"Of course Renny's the best." Nora stated proudly. "He can take on just about anything without a single sweat."
"I wouldn't say that." Ren denied in response to Nora's statement as he remembered back during initiation when he had to chase Nora through the Emerald Forest, which was only a more difficult task since she was riding on an Ursa.
__________________________
Just then another door opened up, setting off Ren as he pulled out his rifle and a blaster, aiming it at a bespectacled young man with tan skin, black hair, and a small black beard, dressed in what seemed to be a lab coat.
"Freeze!" One of the StormTroopers ordered as he aimed his blaster at Mando.
"No!" The scientist pleaded as Mando aimed his blaster at him.
"Drop your weapons!" Another Storm Trooper ordered Mando as he too aimed his blaster at him, along with the other StormTroopers.
__________________________
"Well things got heated pretty quickly." Yang said with mild surprise. "Gotta say, Mando's quick on the draw though."
"I'd say it's not so hard to imagine why things just took a sudden turn." Blake told her partner. "If what Vortech said was true—."
"Which it is." Vortech called out to the cat faunus.
Blake eyes him for a moment before looking back at her partner. "It wouldn't be far off for Mando to be on edge, since he's most likely dealing with a small remnant of the Empire. Any sudden movement from them would set him off."
"I guess you got a point there." Yang said with a shrug before smirking. "I just hope we're about to see Mando kick some more ass."
__________________________
Mando simply looked at the StormTroopers, getting ready to fire before the scientist spoke up with a stuttering voice.
"No, no, no, no. Pardon. Uh, sorry." The scientist said, trying to prevent any violence from occurring, holding his hands up in surrender. "I didn't mean to alarm."
The client got up from his seat, walking over to the scientist a bit before looking to Mando while pointing his hand towards the scientist. "This is Doctor Pershing. Please excuse his lack of decorum."
The client then walked towards Mando, who still held up his rifle and blaster.
"His enthusiasm outweighs his discretion." The client informed Mando before glancing at the blaster aimed at Pershing. "Please lower your blaster."
__________________________
"I suppose it's good that the client is trying to keep things professional, but..." Port trailed off as he furrowed his bushy eyebrows at the client's direction. "His mannerisms feel a little off to me."
"I agree." Weiss said as she gave a distrusting look to the client. "The way he speaks reminds me of one my father's lawyers or a business partner my father would work with... it's very uneasing."
"I guess this further shows how some officials were like in the Empire." Blake said, frowning at the mention of the lawyers and business partners Jacques Schnee would tend to make, knowing how the lawyers always kept Jacques out of trouble from Faunus mistreatment, and how his business partners only made things worse.
__________________________
"Have them lower theirs first." Mandalorian Ren said.
"We have you four to one." One of the StormTroopers said to Ren.
"I like those odds." Ren replied as he looked to the StormTrooper that spoke to him.
__________________________
"I like his style." Roman said to Neo as she nodded in agreement.
"Ain't no way those StormTroopers stand a chance against Mando Ren." Nora stated. "He'll take them all on."
"This version of you is definitely more eager for a fight." Jaune said to Ren.
"While I do see a few similarities between myself and my counterpart, I can see where you're coming from." Ren replied to Jaune. "My Mandalorian self is much more battle-hardened by the looks of his actions."
__________________________
The client walked up to Mando more, prompting Mando to look back at the contractor.
"He also said you were expensive." The client told Mando. "Very expensive. Please sit."
The client backed away from Mando before signaling to the Troopers to lower their weapons. The moment the troopers lowered their blasters, so too did Mando Ren, holstering his blaster while holding his rifle in his hands as he went to sit down at the desk with the client. Dr. Pershing let out a sigh as he walked over to the desk.
The moment Mando sat down, the client pushed over something that was rectangular in shape, and wrapped in cloth. The client soon opened up the cloth, revealing an ingot of metal with an Imperial stamp on it.
"Beskar?" Mando asked as he looked up to the contractor.
"Go ahead. It's real." The client said to Mando as Ren picked up the ingot of metal, inspecting it.
"This is only a down payment." The client informed Ren. "I have a camtono of Beskar waiting for you upon delivery of the asset."
__________________________
"A camtono is a security container, for anyone wondering." Vortech informed the audience. "About half the size of a five gallon water jug."
"Offering the payment of my counterpart's ancestral metal for whatever this job is would certainly be a motivator." Ren said as he looked at the ingot of Beskar.
"How did someone from the Empire get Beskar?" Ruby asked.
"They probably took it away from Mandalore." Blake theorized. "They were the ruling government for a time, and if they were as bad as Vortech said, it would make sense that they would take stuff that wasn't theirs to begin with."
"You're not far off." Vortech said to Blake. "Though there's much more to it than that."
Oobleck looked at the screen, analyzing the situation before speaking his mind. "If this client is offering something as valuable as Beskar, then the delivery of this asset must be very important to him."
"Now it just begs the question of what makes this asset so important in the first place." Ozpin said as he looked at the client on screen.
__________________________
"Alive." Dr. Pershing told Mando, cutting into the conversation.
"Yes. Alive." The client repeated. "Although I acknowledge that bounty hunting is a complicated profession. This being the case, proof of termination is also acceptable for a lower fee."
This did not seem to go well with Dr. Pershing as he looked to the client. "That is not what we agreed upon."
"I'm simply being pragmatic." The client told Pershing as Mando Ren looked to the Doctor.
__________________________
"Yes, definitely like someone who works with my father." Weiss commented with a nod in regards to what the client said.
"At least Dr. Pershing doesn't seem to act like him." Ruby said.
"Dr. Pershing is still working with the client." Weiss reminded Ruby. "We can't assume anything about what their plans for this asset is."
"I'm just saying, Pershing doesn't look like a bad guy." Ruby defends her statement. "A little nervous, maybe, but he doesn't seem evil."
"Regardless of what Dr. Pershing's purpose with the client is, if the client is willing to accept the asset dead or alive, it just confirms that there may be more to this job than we know." Blake said to Weiss and Ruby as the viewing continued.
__________________________
Dr. Pershing responded by lowering his head as Mando looked to the client, speaking to him. "Let's see the puck."
"I'm afraid discretion dictates a less traditional agreement." The client told Mando. "We can only offer you a tracking fob."
Upon saying this, the client motioned for Dr. Pershing to walk over and hand Ren a fob.
Mando Ren took the fob, looking at it before looking back at the client. "What's the chain code?"
"We can only provide the last four digits." The client said.
Mando was getting ready to insert the chain code into his left vambrace before looking up to the client, speaking in response to what he told him. "Their age? That's all you can give me?"
"Yes. They're 50 years old." The client informed Mando. "We can also give you last reported positional data. Between that and the fob, a man of your skill should make short work of this."
__________________________
"Oh yeah, this guy definitely doesn't want a lot of people knowing about this job." Yang said with a nod.
"At least we have some idea as to who Mando will be going after." Pyrrha said. "Even if it is only their age."
"Man, I really wanna know what is so important about this asset." Jaune said in curiosity.
"Maybe it's someone that the remnants of the Empire want revenge on." Weiss hazarded a guess. "I can't think of much else."
"You people are trying way too hard to analyze this." Roman said as he leaned back in his chair. "A job's a job for a bounty hunter. No reason to ask questions."
"That's easy for you to say. You steal for a living." Blake retorted to Roman.
"Like I'm supposed to take that as an insult." Roman said with an off-handed chuckle as Blake narrowed her eyes at him.
__________________________
Mando looked at the client for a moment before getting up from his seat, the fob and Beskar ingot in his hand as he made his way to the exit.
"The Beskar belongs back into the hands of a Mandalorian." The client said to Mando Ren as he took his leave. "It is good to restore the natural order of things after a period of such disarray, don't you agree?"
Mando glanced back at the client as the door opened, after which he faced forward and contributed to walk out, the StormTroopers watching as he did so.
__________________________
"I do hope nothing goes wrong here." Glynda said as she gave the StormTroopers and the client distrusting looks. "With something involving as little information as this job does, things never end well."
"Whatever it may be, this version of Lie Ren has already proven his skill." Ozpin told Glynda. "With luck, he'll be able to overcome most obstacles in his way."
"It's what those obstacles may be that has me worried." Glynda replied as the viewing continued.
__________________________
Back outside, Mando walked down another part of the town, people continuing in their indistinct chatter in either English or alien languages. Mando also passed a Kowakian monkey-lizard that was being roasted on a spit, another, alive, Kowakian monkey-lizard watching the roasting of his kin from within a cage, whining the whole time.
__________________________
"Awe, that poor thing." Ruby said in a sad voice. "He has to watch his friend get roasted."
"Don't be sorry for him." Vortech said to Ruby. "Kowakian Moneky-lizards are impish little devils. They're sentient enough to fire blasters and even pilot tanks. If there's one creation I detest the most in this universe, it's a Kowakian Monkey-lizard."
"Oh, come on, they can't be that bad." Ruby argued to Vortech's statement.
"Just you see, Ruby Rose." Vortech replied back to the leader of team RWBY. "They're a scourge."
__________________________
Mando walked through the marketplace of town as Vendors called out to people in Huttese. Mando walked towards a doorway that was covered up a curtain. Mando Ren looked back to see if anyone was watching before he moved the curtain out of the way a bit, walking through the doorway.
Soon Mando was walking down a spiral stone staircase until he walked through a large corridor, passing other Mandalorians, some of which either sat at tables or stood beside walls. There were even a few children running around and giggling playfully as they too wore Mandalorian helmets.
__________________________
"I guess this is where my counterpart lives." Ren said as he looked at the other Mandalorians.
"Awe. They even have little kids wearing helmets." Ruby swooned at the playing Mandalorian children.
"Judging from how Mando was making sure no one saw where he was going, not a lot of people might know about this place." Blake said in regards to the Mandalorian covert.
"Nonetheless, it's still interesting to see other Mandalorian warriors." Weiss commented. "Though I will admit, in terms of living conditions I expected something a little more... grandiose given from what Vortech told us."
"You'll understand in time. You all will." Vortech told Weiss as the viewing continued.
__________________________
Mando continued walking through the large corridor before he came to a room that had the narrow, metallic skull of a creature with horns on the side of its head hanging above the entrance.
Within the room was another Mandalorian, obscured a bit by the burning blue flames of a Mandalorian forge. Mando walked into the room, setting his rifle off to the side as the other Mandalorian hammered away at a pauldron before using a tong to place the piece of armor over one of the flames of the forge.
Mando proceeded to sit down as the other went to set their tools, and the pauldron, down onto a work desk before walking over to Ren. Getting a closer look at this Mandalorian, the person was female in body structure, wearing a fur coat with a brownish-red breastplate alongside a dark brown kilt, dark green pants, and woven brown heat resistant gloves. For her helmet, she wore a gold Mandalorian helmet with five small horns atop it, alongside a small t-shaped visor with more rounded eyeholes, tinted in black. This was the Armorer.
__________________________
"Who's this?" Blake asked in curiosity.
"That is a woman who is only known as the Armorer." Vortech informed the cat faunus. "She is the chieftain of Ren's particular Mandalorian tribe. Her main duty, as her name suggests, is to man the forgery and make armor for other Mandalorians."
"Tribes?" Oobleck asked. "So Mandalorians work more in some form of sovereignty system. Do Mandalorians fit more in line to that of Remnant's bandit tribes, or that of White Fang divisions?"
"More so like the divisions." Vortech said to Oobleck. "Their tribes may be scattered and under the rule of a chieftain of house leader, but they will always answer to the leader of the Mandalorians. The Mand'alor."
Oobleck was writing down the information given to him as Vortech watched.
"That's spelled M A N D, apostrophe, A L O R." Vortech said to Oobleck, making sure the green haired doctor spelt Mand'alor correctly.
"Yes, thank you." Oobleck replied.
"Mand'alor?" Ren asked. "Given what you just said, it sounds like quite the significant role."
"It is a historical stamp in Mandalorian culture." Vortech stated to Ren. "Whoever becomes Mand'alor claims the automatic right to the throne of Mandalore. And whoever sits on the throne is in charge of some of the greatest warriors this universe has ever known. It is a position that Mandalorians uphold with the highest regard."
"How does one become a Mand'alor, might I ask?" Ozpin spoke to Vortech with a raised brow.
"By proving your worth." Vortech answered the headmaster. "Through testimony of skill and resolve or trial by combat. While there is more to it, that is the basics on how one becomes the leader of the Mandalorians."
"Huh, that sounds pretty cool." Yang said in interest. "What kind of Mand'alors were there?"
"Well, from the top of my head, there was Mand'alor the Great, Tarre Vizsla, Pre Vizsla..." Vortech listed as before trailing off a bit. "The most recent of the Mand'alors, one who ruled in the later years of Empire, before it fell, was Sienna Khan."
Blake widened her eyes at this while most other members of the audience looked at Vortech in shock.
"The High Leader of the White Fang is the leader of the Mandalorians in this universe?!" Weiss asked in complete surprise.
"I was not expecting this." Ren simply said. While he had no personal experience with the White Fang, he had heard how ruthless Sienna Khan was, and recognized her as someone not to be taken lightly.
"And the Mandalorians just allowed a terrorist like her as their leader?" Weiss asked as she scowled at the thought. "Unbelievable. I would assume for a warrior race they would only allow themselves to be led by those with honor."
"This version of Sienna Khan isn't really all that rage induced like the one from your world." Vortech told Weiss. "Sure she had a few bumps along the way, but she was respected nonetheless."
"I'm sorry, but given my family's personal experience with Sienna Khan and the White Fang, that's a little difficult for me to believe." Weiss told Vortech with crossed arms and scowling face.
"While the actions of Sienna Khan in our world have painted her under a bad light, this is the multiverse, as Vortech stated." Ozpin told Weiss. "The Sienna Khan in this universe may end up being entirely different from our own. It's best to look at instances such as these with an open mind."
Weiss looked to Ozpin before glancing at Blake, remembering her doubts about her when she revealed herself to be ex-White Fang, and how she was eventually proven wrong. "I suppose you're right, Professor... but I'd still like to see evidence of this."
"We'll get there eventually." Vortech told Weiss. "You needn't worry your snow-white head about it."
__________________________
The Armorer soon walked over to Mando, Mando nodding to her before she nodded back and took her own seat in front of him. Mando then proceeded to place down the Calamari Flan onto a small table before placing down the Beskar ingot.
Seeing the ingot, the Armorer picked it up, rubbing her thumb across it as she examined it.
"This was gathered in the Great Purge." The Armorer said as she continued to inspect the ingot. "It is good it is back with the Tribe."
"Yes." Ren agreed.
__________________________
"The Great Purge?" Oobleck inquired. "That sounds like it was a very devastating affair. Given how the Armorer said the Beskar was taken during that period, added with the fact that the Imperial client had the ingot, I would most likely assume that the Great Purge had something to do with the Empire and Mandalore."
"That's the short version of it, yes." Vortech told Oobleck. "The Empire found that Mandalore had become too much of an issue, so they sent some of their most devastating weapons to deal with the Mandalorians."
"How bad was this Great Purge?" Blake hesitated her question.
"Let's just say, there's a reason these Mandalorians are on Nevarro, rather than Mandalore itself." Vortech told her.
"Yikes." Jaune said with a gulp. "The Empire must have been really bad if they could win against the Mandalorians."
"At least the Empire didn't all get all the Mandalorians." Ruby said, trying to find the silver lining.
"Though if the Mandalorians are true warriors, falling at the hands of something like the Empire must have wounded much of their pride." Pyrrha said with a downed expression, wondering how the people of Mandalore must have felt when they lost to the cruel government.
Ren was mostly silent in thought for this conversation. He knew what it was like to lose his home, and could only give sympathy towards what the Mandalorians would have felt like.
__________________________
"A pauldron would be in order." The Armorer said as she looked up to Mando. "Has your signet been revealed?"
"Not yet." Mando Ren replied.
"Soon." The Armorer told Mando as she got up from her seat, walking over to a closest to pick out the right tools as Mando simply watched.
__________________________
"A signet?" Ren asked, slowly getting over the information about the Great Purge. "What does a signet have to do with being Mandalorian?"
"Earning a signet means you are able to form your own Mandalorian clan." Vortech informed Ren. "It can only be earned by a worthy kill or conquest."
"So if Mando gets a signet, he gets to make his own clan." Nora said with a giddy smile as a thought came to mind, soon looking to her partner. "Think about it Renny. Clan Ren."
"I think you may be getting a bit ahead of yourself, Nora." Ren told his childhood friend with a small chuckle before facing the viewing screen.
"Nora's got a point though. It would be cool to see you with your own Mandalorian clan." Jaune told his friend with a supportive smile.
"Though that does beg the question on what your signet would be." Pyrrha brought up.
"Well, if my counterpart were to get a signet, I would imagine it would be my emblem." Ren said in thought. "But given how Vortech said a Mandalorian signet denotes a kill or a conquest, my signet would probably be something else."
"Whatever it is, I'm sure it's going to be awesome." Nora told Ren with a thumbs up and smile before the viewing continued.
__________________________
Using a pair of tongs, the Armorer placed the Beskar ingot onto a heating pad, after which she pressed a button on a control terminal which raised the temperature on the pad to a degree that allowed for the Beskar to melt down. Once melted, the liquid Beskar flowed down into a pauldron mold that the Armorer had placed onto the main forge, Mandalorian Ren watching in silence.
"This is extremely generous. The excess will sponsor many Foundlings." The Armorer commented towards the Beskar ingot as she pressed a button on a console, causing a hologram of a Mandalorian pauldron to show up.
"That's good." Mando said. "I was once a Foundling."
"I know." The Armorer said before she activated the hydraulic press that was above the forge, causing it to slam down onto the mold.
__________________________
"A Foundling?" Glynda decided to question.
"Those not born of Mandalore yet adopted into their ways by other Mandalorians." Vortech explained.
"So much information in one viewing." Oobleck muttered as he continued to write in his notebook.
"So that means I wasn't born on Mandalore?" Ren asked.
"No, you were not." Vortech shook his head in response.
Ren looked back to the viewing screen with a thoughtful look before muttering to himself. "So how did I become a Mandalorian then?"
__________________________
The moment it did so, the image of explosions, sparks, and blaster fire ran through Mando's head, as well as the image of a very young Ren being carried by his father through the ensuing madness.
__________________________
It was at this small flashback that Ren dilated his pupils for a moment, having a flashback of his own. For the last time he looked this young in a situation such as that, he had lost his village to the Grimm, and his mother and father had died.
"What's going on here?" Ruby asked as she thought back to the image of the young boy, recognizing the boy's pink eyes. "What Ren as a kid?"
"I guess we're about to see how Ren became a Foundling." Weiss said as she looked to the viewing screen with a concerned look.
Nora too gave the viewing screen a concerned look before looking to Ren, noting his frozen posture.
"Ren?" Nora asked in worry to her partner, shaking him a bit, yet she received no response.
__________________________
The Armorer soon removed the now hardened Beskar pauldron from the mold, and started to hammer away at it. With each clang of her hammer, Ren continued to be reminded of his past, of blaster fire raining from the sky as his parents tried to run and get him to safety. As the hammering continued, so did Mando Ren's flashbacks. People struck down blaster bolts, explosions breaking off pieces of buildings. It all led up to a faint memory of the young Ren being placed in a cellar by his mother and father, the boy reaching out for them as they closed the doors.
__________________________
Ren had continued to look at the viewing screen, having memories of ptsd from his past.
"Ren?" Nora asked once more before shaking him a bit. "Ren?"
Nora than decided to snap her fingers in Ren's face for several moments, which seemed to do the trick as Ren blinked his eyes a bit, snapping out of his trance. The moment he did, Ren looked left and right to see that his teammates, team RWBY, and the teachers were all giving him concerned looks.
"Are you alright, lad?" Port asked Ren.
"I-I'm fine now. Thank you for asking." Ren replied to the Grimm studies teacher.
"Are you sure, chase you seemed a bit out of it?" Jaune asked his friend.
"It's nothing. Just some bad memories." Ren said as he glanced down a bit.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Yang slowly asked Ren.
"If I'm being honest... not really." Ren shook his head in response.
"Are you sure? You know we're here if you want to tell us anything." Ruby told Ren, trying to be supportive.
Ren continued to glance to the floor, choosing to be silent. Ozpin noticed this, and decided to speak up.
"It won't do any good for us to pressure something that is undoubtedly a sensitive topic out of Mr. Ren." Ozpin spoke aloud, getting the attention of his colleagues and the students. "If he wishes to speak what is on his mind, then he will do it when he feels the time is right."
The students gave Ren one last concerned look before Blake spoke in an uncertain voice. "If you say so..."
Meanwhile with Roman and Neo, they held more neutral looks to the situation, though Roman made sure to hide more of what he felt towards the situation.
'Poor kid.' Neo signed with a slightly lowered expression.
"What can ya do?" Roman asked with a shrug before crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair, memories of similar events going through his own head. "That's just how the world works."
Back with the students, Pyrrha looked to see Nora continued to give Ren a worried look before whispering to her.
"Is... everything really alright?" Pyrrha asked Nora.
Nora looked back before glancing back at Ren, knowing what Mando's flashbacks likely stirred in her partner as she too knew what Ren was most likely thinking about. "I'm sure he'll be fine. Just gotta give him a minute. That's all."
"Okay, then. Just know to tell us when something's wrong." Pyrrha said to Nora before looking back to the viewing screen.

Soon enough, The Armorer was finished shaping the piece of armor, holding up the Beskar pauldron. After which, she was soon holding the pauldron in her hands, carrying it over to Ren, who had removed his old durasteel pauldron, allowing for the Armorer to place the new pauldron over his right shoulder.
The viewing soon changed to Mando Ren flying the Razor Crest through space until it happened upon a new planet, this one seeming to have a desert like surface.
Within the cockpit of the Razor Crest, Mando pushed a few buttons as to get ready his landing gear, the audience being able to get a good look at the new Beskar pauldron on Ren's right shoulder, the Mandalorian having painted it black.
__________________________
Thinking of a way to try and fully steer clear of the subject of Ren's, Nora came up with an idea the moment she saw the new shiny, black, Beskar pauldron.
"I gotta say, even if it's not a full set of armor, that pauldron looks great on you Ren." Nora said to her partner with a bright smile. "Just imagine what you would look like with a full set of Beskar armor."
Ren was pulled out of his thoughts by what Nora said, looking to the screen to inspect the pauldron. "Well, while I'm not one for armor like Jaune, I can tell how important that pauldron is to my counterpart. I would imagine completing this task will allow him to honor his Mandalorian tribe."
"You know, I'm liking the black paint job." Yang commented as she inspected the pauldron. "If Mando paints the rest of his armor like his new pauldron, it will look sick with his green clothes."
"As well as work to Mando's defense advantage." Port observed. "If Beskar is as strong as it's claimed to be, that armor will make him a formidable bounty hunter."
"While I do admire the craftsmanship of the pauldron, I'm more interested in the new planet." Weiss commented as her focus was on the desert planet Mando was heading towards.
"That is Arvala-7. A desert planet." Vortech informed Weiss.
"Oh, so an entire planet like Vacuo." Roman stated. "Must be hell for anyone trying to live there."
"You'd be surprised by the advanced, yet simple ways people can live on a desert planet." Vortech told the master criminal. "Though you'll find no shortage of complaints about how the sand gets everywhere."
"Ooh, yeah, that sounds like a nightmare." Roman nodded in agreement. "I'll take anything like Vale, Atlas, or Mistral over anything like Vacuo any day."
__________________________
Mando flipped a few switches as he moved his ship through the planet's atmosphere, and towards the surface, flying the Razor Crest over ridges and desert mountains.
Eventually Mando found a secluded place to land, activating the Razor Crest's landing gear as it slowly landed onto the surface. The back ramp of the Razor Crest opened up, allowing for Mando to walk down it, and onto the dried surface of Arvala-7. Mando walked a bit aways from his ship, his rifle in one hand, and the beeping tracking fob in the other as he looked over the desert ranges, moving the tracking fob a bit to see what direction he should go towards.
Mando Ren soon put away the fob, easing up his rifle onc cocking it as he aimed it out into the distance, looking further outward thanks to the rifle's scope. Looking out through his scope, Mando happened upon two Blurrgs, large, bipedal reptilian creatures with a stout appearance, and small, two-clawed arms.
__________________________
"I swear these aliens just keep getting weirder." Roman commented as he gave a strange look to the Blurrgs.
"That has to be the stubbiest creature I have ever laid eyes upon." Port commented.
"These are Blurrg." Vortech told the audience. "A beast of burden, great for long distance travel. Stubby they may be, but they are some of the fastest modes of natural transportation."
"Aw man, now you're making me want to ride one." Nora complained to Vortech.
"Not sorry." Vortech commented off-handedly to the ginger bomber.
"I must say that it's very perplexing how some alien species appear, including the wildlife." Glynda said as she looked at the Blurrg in curiosity. "It makes me wonder what other species look like in this universe."
"Just so you know, you are wondering about a very long list." Vortech said before he spread his arms out in example. "Believe me, it's very long."
__________________________
Mando continued to watch the Blurrgs move about in silence before moving his rifle to the left, scoping out the area from there. However, the moment he did so, a Blurrg suddenly popped up into his line of sight, growling with a roar as he ran towards him.
__________________________
"Woah!!" Ruby shouted as she jumped in her seat.
"Holy shit!" Roman cursed as he placed a hand on his chest. "Way to give a guy a heart attack!"
Many in the audience were jumpscared in some degree by the Blurrg, though others hid it better than most. With the exception of Oobleck as the Blurrg's sudden appearance seemed to have no effect on him.
"The Blurrg came out of nowhere." Blake said with wide eyes, a little jumpy due to the Blurrg's sudden appearance.
"Well, now it looks like Mando gets to fight an animal." Yang said, though she too was jumped a bit from the Blurrg.
"I hope Mando comes out of this unscathed." Jaune said as he too had his hand on his chest like Roman did, trying to calm himself from the jumpscare of the Blurrg. "Without aura, it'll be easier for him to lose a limb, armor or not."
"Mando can take him!" Nora shouted in confidence, being one of the few members of the audience that got over the jumpscare quicker than others.
__________________________
Mando tried to react in time, activating the flamethrower on his right vambrace, only for the Blurrg to catch his arm with its large mouth, Ren grunting in the process.
__________________________
"No fair! He has a flamethrower?!" Yang yelled in surprise and jealousy.
"Your hair lights on fire when you activate your semblance." Weiss told Yang. "Why do you care about a flamethrower when you yourself are a flamethrower."
"Just because my hair goes on fire doesn't mean I get to shoot out flames." Yang said with a pout as she put her chin in her hands. "Believe me, I've tried."
"She nearly burned a forest down from her hair because she got so mad she couldn't shoot out flames from her hands." Ruby said in a deadpan voice to Weiss.
"Hey, I thought we agreed not to speak of that?" Yang asked Ruby while placing her hands on her hips.
"Sorry. It slipped." Ruby meekly apologized.
"Disregarding that piece of information..." Pyrrha trailed off as she gave Yang a strange look, from which Yang rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment. "It's interesting that Mando's vambrace has a working wrist-mounted flamethrower."
"That's actually something common on most regular Mandalorian armor." Vortech informed Pyrrha.
"I guess Mandalorians like being prepared." Pyrrha guessed before looking back at the screen.
Meanwhile, Nora looked to Ren with a smirk. "I always knew you'd look good with a destructive weapon."
"I still disagree with that." Ren replied to Nora. "Besides, the flamethrower doesn't appear to be doing my counterpart any favors."
"I'm sure he'll find a way out of this." Nora waved Ren off as the viewing continued.
__________________________
Mando Ren was thrown onto the ground a few times by the Blurrg before the flamethrower went out, Mando trying to get to his feet as the Blurrg thrashed him about. Mando then proceeded to punch the Blurrg in the eye several times, causing the Blurrg to groan and let go of Mando's arm. Ren tried to get away while his arm limped, only for the Blurrg to grab him by this other arm while charging at him.
Mando grunted as the Blurrg dragged him, only for the Blurrg to suddenly be shot by a taser dart from somewhere else, knocking it out and onto the ground as Mando grunted once more.
__________________________
"See, I told you." Nora said to Ren with a proud smirk, her hands on her hips.
"But I wasn't the one to get myself out of that situation." Ren tried to tell Nora.
"He still made it out of the situation though, so win-win." Nora said, still holding her smirk.
"Now this begs the question where that taser dart came from." Blake said as her thoughts began to wonder.
"The good news is that Mando's finally safe from that Blurrg." Ruby said in relief.
__________________________
Mando tried to free his arm from the jaws of the incompasitated Blurrg, only to look up in surprise that another was running towards him with growl.
__________________________
"Me and my big mouth." Ruby groaned as she pulled her cape's hood over her head in embarrassment.
"Okay, seriously?" Nora asked in a deadpan tone towards the oncoming Blurrg.
__________________________
Mando rose his hand up, as to prepare for the Blurrg's attack, only for the charging Blurrg to be hit with a taser dart, just like the other one, knocking it to the ground before it even reached Mando Ren.
Mando groaned as he sat himself up, looking at the taser dart embedded in the Blurrg's back before looking to see the person who shot the Blurrg.
Said person appeared to be an elderly porcine alien known as an Ugnaught wearing pants, gloves, a vest, and a jacket over his body, with a cap and goggles over his head. The Ugnaught held a blaster in the air as he rode upon a saddled Blurrg of his own.
__________________________
"Huh..." Ruby uttered as she trailed off in thought, removing her hood from her head. "That is a very short alien."
"Speaking from experience?" Yang smirked as she took a jab at her sister's height.
"Why are you the way that you are?" Ruby whined to Yang.
"Hey, Neo. Hehe." Roman spoke to his pint-sized companion while chuckling. "I think we just found your grandpa."
Neo knew her boss was making a joke about her short stature and rolled her eyes while Roman chuckled at his own joke, taking to the decision of jabbing Roman in the side with her elbow to shut him up.
"Ow." Roman groaned out to Neo as he rubbed his hurting side, Neo now smiling sweetly at him in return.
"What species of alien is this?" Oobleck asked as he observed the Ugnaught. "His appearance seems almost porcine in nature."
"Whoever he is, it would seem he knows how to tame these Blurrgs." Glynda said in regards to the Blurrg the Ugnaught was riding upon.
"He is an Ugnaught." Vortech explained to them. "Porcine humanoid species native to the planet Gentes. They are considered to be one of the hardest-working species in the galaxy."
"Interesting." Oobleck said as he wrote down in his notes."
__________________________
Ren groaned as he removed his left arm from the mouth of the knocked out Blurrg, his helmet caked in sand, panting as he looked up to his Ugnaught savior. "Thank you."
Ugnaught merely nodded to Ren before tilting his head at him, getting a better look before speaking. "You are a bounty hunter."
"Yes." Ren said as he was still panting, inspecting his arm.
The Ugnaught continued to look at Mando before speaking. "I will help you." He stated.
Mando looked up to the Ugnaught, calming his panting breaths.
"I have spoken." The Ugnaught said before tapping his leg several times against his Ugnaught mount, prompting the reptilian beast to start moving.
Still panting, Mando Ren slowly got up to his feet, deciding to follow the Ugnaught.
The viewing transitioned to a small farm of sorts, surrounded by tents, crates, and technological pillars. A multi-bladed wind mill right next to the main hut. Inside the hut, Mando sat as the Ugnaught walked around, his cap removed as he prepared food.
__________________________
"Huh. That was surprisingly quick." Weiss said in slight surprise.
"We're expecting something else?" Blake asked the heiress with a raised brow.
"Well, I was kind of expecting Ren to question the Ugnaught a little. He did just appear out of nowhere." Weiss explained her reasoning.
"Perhaps due to my counterpart's warrior upbringing, he feels he can trust the Ugnaught since he saved him." Ren suggested. "Even I will admit that I'm not one to show mistrust to someone just from immediately meeting them. It's better to get to learn about how someone lives and acts, better than how they appear or may seem."
"Wisely said, Mr. Ren." Glynda complimented the ninja of team JNPR.
"If more people thought like that, the world would be a much more peaceful place." Ozpin added as his thoughts trailed off to the mission given to him by the Brother Gods for a moment.
Ren merely nodded in thanks to the Professors.
__________________________
"Many have passed through." The Ugnaught said to Mando. "They seek the same one as you."
"Did you help them?" Mando asked.
"Yes." The Ugnaught answered as he poured a drink into a pitcher. "They died."
"Well, then I don't know if I want your help." Mando Ren said to the Ugnaught.
"You do." The Ugnaught assured him as he grabbed the pitcher and started to walk towards Mando. "I can show you to the encampment."
__________________________
"It looks like Mando even had some of Renny's sass." Nora said with a giggle.
Ren smiled a bit in return to what Nora said, being reminded of something his mother once told him in similar regards to his sass long ago.
"Now this raises the question of how these other bounty hunters died." Weiss said with a brow raised in thought.
"Well they probably died trying to get the asset." Ruby suggested. "I don't think the Ugnaught's the type of guy to kill people. He seems too nice, even if we've only seen him for a few moments."
"Maybe..." Weiss hummed as she thought the prospect over.
"I do believe you children are forgetting something." Glynda said to the students. "The Ugnaught said there were other hunters looking for the same asset. It would seem the Imperial client had hired others before to obtain whoever this asset is."
"Huh. I didn't think of that." Ruby said as she looked to the ceiling in thought.
"This just further proves that there's something off about this job. And it seems he's doing everything he can to get whoever the asset is." Blake said as she furrowed her eyes in thought about the client.
"Yeah, just don't go tiring yourself out trying to figure out what the client wants with the asset." Yang said to Blake, subtly regarding how Blake had worked tirelessly to figure out what Roman and the White Fang were up to.
"Don't worry. I won't." Blake rolled her eyes at Yang, though not before showing off a small smile to her partner.
__________________________
"What's your cut?" Mando asked the Ugnaught.
"Half." The Ugnaught replied.
"Half the bounty to guide?" Mando asked. "Seems steep."
__________________________
"That's one greedy Porky." Roman said as he rose his brow towards the Ugnaught. "Though I probably can't blame him. Given where he lives, he probably doesn't get a lot of work."
"Oh, come on, not everyone is as money hungry as you." Ruby rolled her eyes while calling out to Torchwick.
"And not everyone is as sickeningly optimistic and friendly as you, Red." Roman replied with his own eye role.
__________________________
"No." The Ugnaught said as he sat down. "Half of the Blurrg you helped capture."
__________________________
"Wait, what?" Roman did a double take to what the Ugnaught just said with blinking eyes. "He just wants the stinking animals?"
"I told you not everyone was like you." Ruby called out to Roman with crossed arms and a smirk.
"Oh, screw off." Roman said with an annoyed eye roll.
"I wonder why the Ugnaught doesn't want any part of the reward for collecting the asset?" Jaune asked. "I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but I am little curious."
"He's probably the type of person that lives just fine as he is, even without the need for money." Pyrrha suggested while she smiled at the Ugnaught. "It's admirable."
__________________________
"The Blurrg?" Mando asked. "You can keep them both."
"No, you will need one." The Ugnaught informed Ren. "To ride. The way is impossible to pass without a Blurrg mount."
"I don't know how to ride Blurrg." Mando said as the Ugnaught grabbed the pitcher, getting ready to pour his drink into a cup.
The Ugnaught looked up to Mando before speaking. "I have spoken." He said as he poured a drink into his cup.
__________________________
"He says that a lot, doesn't he?" Roman fully asked Vortech.
Vortech merely nodded his head in return to the master criminal.
"Well, it looks like we're about to see Mando get to ride a Blurrg." Nora said in a giddy voice. "I bet it's going to look awesome."
"Remember, I still have to learn how to ride a Blurrg, Nora." Ren reminded his childhood friend. "And I doubt it will be easy."
"Eh, I'm sure you'll be able get the hang of it in no time." Nora waved him off.
__________________________
The viewing cut to Mando being thrown onto the ground by a Blurrg, groaning upon impact. Mando looked back up to see the Blurrg walking away from him, still groaning as he started to sit up. He was currently in a large, fenced pen, attempting to get atop a Blurrg and ride it, but to no avail.
"Perhaps if you removed your helmet." The Ugnaught suggested to Ren.
"Perhaps he remembers I tried to roast him." Ren replied back to the Ugnaught.
"This is a female." The Ugnaught told Mando as they looked to the Blurrg. "The males are all eaten during mating."
__________________________
"Well isn't that fun to know?" Jaune rhetorically asked with a nervous tone.
"Huh. Kind of like Yang." Ruby muttered to herself. However it wasn't quiet enough as Yang quickly turned her head to her sister.
"I'm sorry, what do you mean kind of like me?" Yang asked Ruby with crossed arms and a narrowed gaze.
"Uh... you weren't supposed to hear that." Ruby nervously said as she tapped the tips of her fingers together in nervousness.
"And yet I heard it anyway. So are you gonna tell me or not?" Yang asked Ruby with an even more narrowed look.
Ruby had shrunk back in fear before she relented to her sister. "Well, you know you... sometimes can get cranky with the guys you date, and if it isn't ever Uncle Qrow or dad that drives your dates away, it's you. So I thought that in that sense you were kind of like a Blurrg."
Yang continued to give Ruby a scrutinizing look as her little sister continued to cower in fear.
"Please don't hurt me." Ruby pleaded meekly with her older sister.
Yang continued to give Ruby a narrow-eyed look before slowly looking back to the viewing screen. "You're off the hook this time. But know that I will get you back."
Ruby gulped a bit in fear while Weiss merely shook her head at the antics, Blake looking to Ruby.
"You've done it now." Blake told her team leader.
"I'm so dead." Ruby whined before the viewing continued.
__________________________
Shaking his head a bit, Mando Ren sighed as he got up from the ground, facing the Blurrg as she growled at him. Mando then proceeded to hop onto the Blurrg's back, and already it was moving in circles and thrashing about to get him off, causing Ren to yelp and grunt in the process. The Ugnaught watched this attempt with crossed arms.
Eventually the Blurrg threw Mando off, causing him to groan as he quickly got up backing away as the Blurrg growled at him before he decided to walk over to the Ugnaught.
"I don't have time for this." Mando Ren told the Ugnaught. "Do you have a landspeeder or Speeder bike that I could hire?"
__________________________
"It would seem my counterpart also lacks a bit of patience." Ren observed while shaking his head. "He'll never learn if he's always rushing for a different solution."
"As someone who has ridden horses, I can say that Mando needs to have himself appear calm and friendly towards the Blurrg." Weiss said as she remembered some fond memories of riding horses around the Schnee estate. "If the animal you are trying to ride senses your frustration, it will be frustrated too."
"I didn't know you could ride horses, Weiss." Ruby said to her partner in surprise.
"It was... something my mother taught me." Weiss said, trailing off a bit while trying to keep her composure at mentioning her own mother.
__________________________
"You are a Mandalorian!" The Ugnaught proclaimed to Ren. "Your ancestors rode the great Mythosaur. Surely you can ride this young foal."
__________________________
"A Mythosaur?" Oobleck asked in curiosity while Port perked up at the name of the creature.
"That kind of sounds like a Grimm." Yang said in thought. "And based on what the Ugnaught said, it must really be something."
"The Mythosaur was an ancient, large, reptilian creature that roamed the world of Mandalore." Vortech said. "Try to imagine a lizard the size of a dragon with large tusks coming from the side of its upper jaw. The very skull of the Mythosaur is the symbol of all Mandalorians."
Ren thought about this for a moment before remembering the metallic animal skull that hung from the Armorer's forgery. "The skull above the Armorer's room. That was meant to represent a Mythosaur skull, wasn't it?"
"Precisely." Vortech nodded to Ren.
"That must have been one gnarly lizard." Ruby commented. "That skull we saw definitely looked like it could belong to a Grimm."
"And the Mandalorians got to ride them too!" Nora said in excitement. "Man, now I want to ride a Mythosaur."
"We're learning so much of Mandalorian culture, even for our first viewing of this universe." Pyrrha in astonishment. "I do hope we'll learn more soon."
"As do I." Ren said in agreement, wishing to know more about the culture his counterpart was raised in.
__________________________
The Ugnaught pointed his hand out towards the Blurrg, prompting Mando to look at the growling reptilian before he looked back at the Ugnaught, who looked back at him. Conceding to the Ugnaught's words, Mando Ren slowly walked up the Blurrg, the Blurrg slowly backing away as he got closer.
"Easy. Easy." Ren calmly spoke to the Blurrg as he held his hand out.
The Blurrg growled back at him as Mando continued his approach. "Now, all right. Settle down."
The Blurrg tried to snap her jaws at Mando, causing him to jump back a bit.
"Woah! Settle. Settle." Mando Ren continued to speak calmly to the Blurrg.
The Ugnaught watched as Mando slowly got closer and closer to the Blurrg.
"That's good. That's good." Mando Ren said to the Blurrg as he carefully and gently placed his hand on the Blurrg's head. "Easy. Okay."
"That's good." Mando said as he now had both of his hands on the Blurrg's head, finally calming it down. "All right."
The Ugnaught watched as Mando Ren hopped onto the Blurrg once more with a grunt, the reptilian mount growling as Ren steadied him.
"Oh!" Mando exclaimed as he finally got his footing on mounting the beast, now attempting to get used to riding it.
The Ugnaught watched as the Mando started to ride the Blurrg, the Blurrg growling as it moved about the pen, the Ugnaught nodding in approval.
__________________________
"He's got it!" Ruby pointed out with a cheer. "He's riding a Blurrg."
"See? All it takes is being calm and patient." Weiss said while pointing her hand towards the screen, Ren nodding in agreement.
"Now Mr. Ren will be able to travel to the asset's location." Glynda stated as she watched Mando quickly learn to ride the Blurrg, overall impressed by his skill.
"Though he will most likely face opposition." Ozpin added as his colleagues nodded in agreement.
__________________________
The viewing changed to Mando and the Ugnaught both on Blurrgs, the Ugnaught leading the way as they traversed the large, cracked, desert plains that spanned for miles, their Blurrgs hopping over each crack as they ran.
They eventually made their way to a ridge where Mando and the Ugnaught looked down onto a nearby settlement.
"That is where you'll find your quarry." The Ugnaught informed Mando as he pointed to the settlement.
Mando looked at the Ugnaught, then to the settlement, before looking back at the Ugnaught, attempting to pay him with a small sack of credits. However, the Ugnaught merely held out his hand and shook his head to Ren's offer.
"Please. You deserve this." Mando Ren said to the Ugnaught.
"Since these ones arrived, this territory has been an endless stream of mercenaries seeking reward and bringing destruction." The Ugnaught informed Mando.
"Then why did you guide me?" Ren asked as he looked towards the settlement.
"They do not belong here." The Ugnaught replied to Mando. "Those that live here come to seek peace. There will be no peace until they're gone."
"Then why do you help?" Mando Ren asked as he looked towards the Ugnaught.
"I have never met a Mandalorian." The Ugnaught said as he looked towards Ren. "I've only read the stories. If they are true, you will make quick work of it. Then there will again peace."
__________________________
"He led Ren all the way to the encampment, and all the Ugnaught wants in return is for Ren to return the peace." Weiss said in slight astonishment. "He wouldn't accept payment for doing so, and Ren wanted to pay him."
"It's clear that the Ugnaught is very humble." Pyrrha said with a small smile. "It's nice to see that even in another universe, there are those that don't only think for themselves."
"Well, porky's either a complete saint or just has no interest in money at all." Roman stated. "Personally, I would have accepted the cash. I mean, Mando even wanted him to take it."
"Like I said, not everyone is as greedy as you." Ruby called back to Roman with crossed arms.
"And again, how am I supposed to be offended by that?" Roman asked Ruby. However, deep in his mind, he was still having trouble believing that the Ugnaught would just refuse money being offered to him.
__________________________
Mando then looked to see that Ugnaught started to leave, but not before he looked back at Mando and did a two finger way to him.
"I have spoken."
With the Ugnaught taking his leave, Mando Ren looked back towards the settlement.
__________________________
"Oh, yeah. He's definitely gonna say that a lot." Roman muttered to himself in regards to the Ugnaught.
'I have spoken.' Neo signed to Roman with a smile.
"No you didn't." Roman replied to her while shaking his head.
Neo lowered her eyes toward Roman in annoyance before holding up her sign again. 'I have signed.'
"There you go." Roman gave Neo a thumbs up as she merely rolled her eyes to him.
__________________________
Ren soon got off of his Blurrg mount, walking towards the edge of the ridge and lying down on it before he pulled out the scope from his rifle, holding it to his visor and zooming in to see the occupants of the settlement.
What Mando found were a large group of Niktos occupying the settlement, looking towards two that sat beside a large well.
Mando moved the scope around to see a large doorway with blast doors, soon removing the scope from his visor before looking through once more. He looked back to the Niktos that sat near the well, only to see that they suddenly got up in response to something coming their way. Mando moved the scope downwards to see that a droid was walking towards them, armed with a rifle and a blaster. The droid was tall and lanky with an almost cylindrical head, as the droid also wore an ammo sash.
"Oh, no." Mando Ren said as he looked at the droid through the scope before removing the scope from his visor. "Bounty droid."
"Subparagraph 16 of the Bondsman Guild protocol waiver compels you to immediately produce said asset." IG-11 said to the Niktos as he walked up to the settlement.
__________________________
"I take it, that's gonna bad?" Jaune asked.
"Okay, what does everyone want me to go over first? The aliens or the droid?" Vortech asked the audience.
"I think it would be better to start with the aliens and then the droid." Ozpin said.
"Yeah, I think I'm fine with that." Yang nodded in agreement.
"Just as long as the explanation is quick. Because I really want to know about that droid." Ruby said as she stated at IG-11, finding the overall design of the droid to pique her interest.
"The aliens are known as Niktos, who hail from their homeworld of Kintan." Vortech started to explain. "They are a reptilian, humanoid race with small horns on their face, and head. Think of it similar to horned lizards. They are most commonly known as enforcers for the Hutt crime families."
"I take it these Hutt crime families are where the language of Huttese originated from?" Oobleck took a gander to Vortech.
"Yes, but more on that when we actually see a Hutt." Vortech replied to him before moving onto IG-11. "The bounty droid is known as IG-11, programmed to follow the protocols of the Bounty Hunter's Guild. IG droids are a series of assassin droids, made to be some of the deadliest weapons in the galaxy."
"An entire series of droids built for the purpose of assassination?" Glynda asked before giving a small eye roll. "James would love this."
"So this IG guy is essentially a skinny Atleisian knight, but built only to kill." Roman reiterated as the thought ran through his head. "Yeah, I don't know how I like the sound of that."
"I wonder how good IG-11 is in action?" Ruby said as she looked at the assassin droid.
"I think we're about to find out." Blake said before the viewing continued.
__________________________
IG-11 stopped in his steps as one of the Niktos looked at him. The Nikto them tried to bring his blaster out and shoot IG, only for the assassin droid to quickly shoot him, the Nikto dying with a groan.
IG-11 then went on to shoot the other Niktos near him, his torso being able to rotate to help in aiming as he shot down the Niktos with efficiency and precision.
Some of the Niktos went to hide in some of the buildings of the settlement as IG continued to dual wield his blasters. IG-11 was soon shot in the shoulder from behind, though it did no effect but to warn IG of the Nikto behind him, rotating his head before rotating his torso a bit to shoot down the Nikto.
IG then rotated his head back around before rotating his torso 360 into its proper position as he took notice to the area where the asset was most likely located, the blast doors closing, along with every other door in the settlement.
__________________________
"Wow." Ruby said with stars in her eyes, and a small bit of drool leaking from her lips. "That was awesome! It's body parts can rotate at 360 just to get hit a target, not to mention how fast it moves too!"
"Rubes you're scaring me." Yang said as she leaned away from her little sister a bit.
"I'd say I should be surprised that you're interested in a literal killing machine, but my time with you has told me otherwise." Weiss said as she gave Ruby a deadpan look.
"Well, I'm not saying that it's cool that IG is killing those guys, but it is really cool how he does it." Ruby said while practically jumping in her seat. "Just imagine how well IG would do against the Grimm. It would be glorious."
"Okay, Red is slowly freaking me out." Roman muttered as he gave a weird look at Ruby's direction.
__________________________
Mando had watched the scene and sighed as he got up from where he lay. "Droids."
IG-11 walked through the settlement littered with bodies, aiming his blasters as he rotated his torso around so as to locate any movement as he spoke once again.
"Subparagraph 16 of the Bondsman Guild protocol waiver compels you to immediately produce said asset."
"IG unit! Stand down." Mando called out to the assassin droid as he came out from behind a pillar.
IG-11 immediately turned around and fired at Mando, though luckily only hitting Mando in the Beskar pauldron. That didn't mean the bolt didn't have a kick to it as Mando Ren was forced backwards into some barrels with a groan.
__________________________
"Hey, watch the friendly fire!" Nora shouted at IG. "You're on the same team!"
"He can't hear you Nora." Ren told his partner.
"Oh my gosh! Did you see how powerful that blaster bolt was?!" Ruby asked her friends as she continued to smile in excitement. "I mean sure, it's bad that he shot Mando, but just look at how that thing works!"
"Miss Rose, please restrain your outbursts." Glynda said to Ruby with a stern look. "There is no reason for you to be this loud."
"Oh, uh, sorry Miss Goodwitch." Ruby meekly apologized to Glynda while rubbing the back of her neck in embarrassment.
"At the very least, it seems the Beskar held up." Pyrrha said, sighing in relief that Mando wasn't hurt. "It looks like it barely left a scratch."
"I guess that just shows how well Beskar works." Jaune said as he too was in relief that Mando wasn't hurt from IG's blaster bolt.
__________________________
IG-11 looked at Mando as he lowered his blaster.
Mando Ren groaned as he pulled out his tracking fob, for IG to see. "I'm in the Guild!"
"You are a guild member?" IG-11 asked. "I thought I was the only one on assignment."
"That makes two of us." Mando said as he walked behind a support pillar. "So much for the element of surprise."
"Sadly, I must ask for your fob." IG said to Mando as he rearranged his torso and legs. "I have already issued the writ of seizure. The bounty is mine."
"Unless I am mistaken, you are, as of yet, empty-handed." Mando told IG-11.
__________________________
"If these two are after the same asset, which I'm sure they are." Blake started as she analyzed the scene. "This also tells us that the client wasn't only just handing out the job to other bounty hunters, but that no other hunters really knew that they weren't the only ones given the job."
"The client is trying to keep as much secrecy as he can while also trying to obtain the asset as quickly as possible." Ozpin stated. "Truly, whoever this asset is, it's more valuable to the client than we may yet realize."
__________________________
"This is true." IG-11 conceded.
"I have a suggestion." Mando offered IG.
"Proceed." IG-11 said.
"We split the reward." Mando stated.
IG-11 seemed to think on this for a moment before answering Mando Ren. "This is acceptable."
"Great." Ren said. "Now let's regroup, out of harm's way, and form a plan."
__________________________
"Well, at least Mando now has backup." Pyrrha optimistically spoke. "Better to work together than work against each other for a common goal."
"If only more situations such as this ended in a simple compromise." Ozpin said as he knew well how people could have the same goals, yet go at each other's throats even though they want the same things.
"I do hope those two will be enough to take on the rest of those mercenaries." Glynda spoke up. "Who knows how many Nikto's are occupying that settlement, along with what weapons they'll be using."
"Given what we've seen of Mando so far, and from what we've just seen from IG-11, these two shouldn't have much issue in dealing with these miscreants." Port said with a hearty chuckle.
__________________________
"I will of course receive the reputation merits associated with the mission." IG stated as he rearranged his legs while walking over to Mando Ren.
"Can we talk about this later?" Mando asked in annoyance.
IG-11 was quiet for a moment before speaking. "I require an answer if I am to proceed..."
__________________________
"Wow. I never thought I'd see the day when a robot wanted recognition for jobs, let alone seek actual pay." Roman said in regards to IG. "Isn't it usually a bad sign when machines start thinking like regular people?"
"That's only in the case of advanced AI." Vortech told Roman. "Most droids stand by their protocols through and through."
__________________________
Just then, the assassin droid was shot in the back, getting Mando's attention as IG started to go off like an alarm.
"Oh, no. Alert. Alert. Alert." IG-11 said as the Niktos started to come out of hiding.
One of them was on a rooftop, firing his blaster at Mandalorian Ren, only for Ren to duck back behind the cover of the support beam, the shot missing Ren before he fired back at the Nikto, killing him as he fell off the building with a groan.
__________________________
"Nice shot." Ruby complemented Ren.
"Thank you." Ren nodded in return.
"It looks like the Niktos are back." Jaune observed the situation.
"Mando and IG can take them." Nora said as she started to get pumped up for the oncoming action.
__________________________
More Niktos started to come out of their hiding places, firing their blasters as IG-11 and Mando.
"Oh!" Mando Ren exclaimed as he narrowly dodged a strong blaster shot.
IG started firing his blasters, killing a few Niktos while others started to take cover so as to fire at the two bounty hunters without getting a shot themselves. Mando was still taking cover being the support pillar, waiting for the right chance to start shooting without getting hit before he fired at a Nikto, killing him.
"Let's go!" Mando shouted to IG-11 as Ren started to move around the pillar, all the while two more Niktos appeared on a rooftop.
IG and Mando fired at the Nikto's, the assassin droid firing out in the open, ranking whatever shots hit him, while Ren used hit and run tactics while using the support pillars of buildings, and other objects, as cover. When Mando passed a section of support pillars, he turned around just in time to see a Nikto on the roof above him, shooting him square in the chest as the Nikto fell off.
Mando was now out in the open with IG, the two firing at the Niktos while a door opened up behind Mando Ren, a Nikto running out of it and tackling the Mandalorian.
Mando turned around to fight the Nikto, the two grunting until Mando socked him in the head with his blaster.
More Niktos continued to fire at Mando and IG, indistinct shouting heard all around as the two bounty hunters took cover behind a large container.
__________________________
"Hot damn! It's like a Vacuoan shoot-out!" Yang shouted with a smile towards all the action taking place.
"Ah, I remember my last Vacuoan shoot-out. Boy, was it like Hell." Roman said with nostalgic sigh.
"This is some of the best gunslinging action I've ever seen." Jaune said in awe towards Mando and IG's skill.
"And Mando and IG are kicking some serious butt." Nora said with a giddy smile as she internally cheered for her crush's Mandalorian counterpart and the assassin droid.
"Man, and I thought out fights with Torchwick could be such a rush." Ruby added as she too felt the adrenaline rush of the shoot-out. "We're only watching the shoot-out, but it feels like we're actually there with them."
__________________________
Mando Ren then pulled out his tracking fob, moving it around a bit until the fob's beacon showed where the bounty was. Mando looked up to see that the bounty was in the building with the two locked blast doors.
"He's in there!" Mando shouted to IG-11.
"Affirmative." IG said as he kept blasting.
__________________________
"And they're close to the asset too." Blake said as she looked to the large blast doors. "It won't be much longer until we get to see who it is the client wants so badly."
"All Ren and IG-11 has to do is finish up with the Niktos and find a way to open those doors." Weiss commented before the action on screen continued.
__________________________
The assassin droid soon moved out of cover, rotating his torso around to fire at several Niktos as Mando used IG for cover while the two moved. Mando soon took cover behind another support pillar while IG-11 continued to rotate his torso and move his arms to fire at the incoming Niktos, never once missing.
Mando moved out of cover for a moment to blast a Nikto before yelling out to IG. "Up top!"
IG turned around with both his guns aimed to the air, firing them, which was followed by a Nikto yelping and falling to the ground behind IG.
__________________________
"Okay, that was pretty badass." Roman admitted with a straight face.
"These two make quite the team." Oobleck stated. "Even though they've only just met."
"Added with the fact that the Mandalorian version of Ren doesn't have a fondness for droids." Glynda said in agreement.
"Neither one of them is trying to show off or focus on doing something else while faced with their main objective." Pyrrha added to the conversation. "It's quite remarkable."
"That's just how Ren works. He's professional like that." Nora proudly smirked while patting Ren on the shoulder, prompting Ren to give her a small smile in return.
__________________________
IG soon took cover behind an adjacent support pillar alongside Mando Ren, both of them beside the blast doors where the bounty was located. Mando moved out of cover for a moment to fire at another Nikto on a roof, killing him.
The Niktos all started to shout at each other as they each took cover, aiming their weapons towards where Mando and IG were at.
"It appears we are trapped." IG-11 stated to Mando. "I will initiate self-destruct sequencing."
A slot opened up on IG's chest, revealing a bomb that started to beep with a red glow.
"Woah, your what?" Mando Ren called out to the assassin droid.
__________________________
"It even has a self-destruct option?" Ruby asked in awe, before her mood completely turned. "Wait, what am I saying? That's bad."
"While I understand that they could be useful for some situations, I was never a fan of any with a self-destruct function." Weiss said with crossed arms. "Sometimes the self-destruct may be premature, and that it automatically destroys something that hard work and money went into."
"Whoever built IG-11 must have been a bit paranoid." Yang commented while looking at the bomb that popped out of IG's chest.
"If the robot's gonna self-destruct, he might as well just go run into the heat of fire and take out a few of those horn-faces while he's at it." Roman said in a lax town. "It would be better than detonating next to Mando."
__________________________
"Manufacturers Protocol dictates I cannot be captured." IG-11 said. "I must self-destruct."
"Do not self-destruct." Mando replied to IG, prompting IG to look at him. "Cover me!"
Mando then moved out of his hiding spot, firing his blaster at the Niktos as IG moved out as well, blasting at the Niktos and providing cover for Mando to move over to where he was.
Mando moved towards an activation panel by the large blast doors, opening the hatch while grunting as he tried to reroute the wires to open the doors.
IG-11 continued to fire at the Niktos, providing as much cover as he could for Mando, but a few blaster shots from the Niktos hit the wires for the blast doors, damaging them as Mando started to move out of the way.
"Go! Go! Go! There's too many!" Mando shouted to IG as the two took cover once more.
__________________________
"Dammit. So close." Nora swore while snapping her fingers.
"Now how are they going to get the door open?" Jaune asked. "With the controls fried, it won't matter much if they win against the Niktos or not. They won't be able to get to the asset."
"There definitely proved to be more Niktos than my counterpart and IG-11 most likely anticipated." Ren said. "Now with the both of us stuck in one spot, it will be much more difficult to fire back at the Niktos without either of us trying to distract them."
"Mando and IG are either going to have to outlive the Niktos, if they'll have to wait for a miracle." Ruby stated as she tried to think of a way Mando and IG-11 could get themselves out of this predicament.
__________________________
The Niktos continued to shout at each other as they all shot at where Mando and IG-11 were hiding. Mando Ren and IG soon left their cover at the same time to fire at some Niktos before taking cover once more.
"They've got us pinned." Mando stated.
The Niktos laughed as they continued to fire at the two bounty hunters, Mando and IG unaware of one Nikto coming up with a hovering Gatling laser cannon.
__________________________
"Uh-oh." Ruby said in worry as her eyes widened at the cannon.
"Well, things are about to get more exciting for IG and myself." Ren said in a deadpan tone.
"Of course they have a cannon." Jaune said, slumping his arms with an annoyed look.
"Why do the bad guys always get the heavy weapons?" Yang complained while crossing her arms, thinking back to when they chased Roman down the highway while he piloted an Atlesian mech.
__________________________
"I will initiate self-destruct." IG-11 stated once more as he reactivated the bomb in his chest.
"Do not self-destruct!" Mando Ren ordered IG. "We're shooting our way out."
Mando and IG-11 both got out of their cover spot, aiming their blasters at the Niktos, only to pause in surprise to see the Gatling laser cannon aimed straight at them.
__________________________
'Awkward.' Neo signed in regards to Mando and IG looking at the Gatling laser cannon like two deers caught staring at headlights.
__________________________
"Okay." Ren commented before he and IG took to cover just in time as the laser cannon let out repeating heavy laser bolts.
__________________________
Despite the severity of the situation, people in the audience couldn't help but laugh a bit at Mando's comment.
"Pfft! Haha! You could just hear the awkward shock in his voice." Blake said in between laughs.
"Yeah. Hahahaha! You could just tell he was like 'oh, shit' inside his head." Yang agreed with her partner while laughing.
__________________________
"New plan!" Mando Ren yelled as the two bounty hunters were pinned by the laser cannon.
"Beginning self-destruct countdown." IG said once more.
"No! Stop it!" Mando ordered IG as the cannon continued to fire at them.
__________________________
Once more the audience couldn't help but laugh at the situation.
"I know this is a serious situation, but the way Mando and IG-11 talk with each other really lessens the danger." Pyrrha said while giggling.
"Mando's prepared for a different approach each time, and each time IG is ready to blow himself up." Ruby laughed in agreement with Pyrrha. "At this point, IG doesn't have any confidence they'll make it out, but is still willing to go with what Mando's thinks up."
__________________________
"Draw their fire, I'll take it out." Mando Ren said to IG.
"Acceptable." IG agreed.
"Go!" Mando yelled as IG-11 left cover, firing at the Niktos while taking fire from the Gatling laser cannon.
The Nikto piloting the laser cannon had focused solely on IG-11, the bolts from the cannon knocking the assassin droid down into a corner, slowly taking damage.
__________________________
"Yikes. IG knows how to tank a hit." Yang said, slightly impressed with the droid's durability.
"Yeah, but for how much longer?" Blake questioned.
"While I'm not the type to get overconfident, I will say that IG-11 shouldn't be in much trouble for long." Ren said as he observed the scene. "After all, the Nikto piloting the cannon had made one very grave mistake."
Jaune nodded in understanding, seeing what Ren was thinking. "He's completely left himself open for Mando."
__________________________
However, the Nikto made the fatal mistake of ignoring Ren, who came out from his cover and activating his fibercord whip, slinging it towards as it latched into its side. With a pull, Mando was able to knock loose the Nikto's control of the Gatling laser cannon. The Nikto tried to fire at Mando with his own blaster, but didn't get to as Mando had fired first, killing the Nikto.
Mando Ren then made a run for the cannon, hopping onto it as the otter Niktos started to fire at him. In turn, Ren had the cannon constantly rotating, firing its powerful blasts at the rest of the Niktos, causing them to die screaming deaths. Mando continued to rotate the cannon around, repeatedly firing at the Niktos until all had died, finally halting the cannon fire.
__________________________
There was absolute silence in the audience, everyone stunned frozen upon seeing Mando kill the rest of Niktos by simply rotating the cannon around. However, that silence was soon broken by the muscle of team JNPR.
"That. Was. AWESOME!" Nora cheered loudly with a smile, throwing her hands in the air.
"I'll admit it. That was impressive." Roman said with a light chuckle while Neo clapped in applause, even going so much as to whistle a bit.
"I gotta do that if I ever see a cannon on wheels." Yang said with a bright, smirking smile.
"This just further cements Mr. Ren's adaptability in this universe." Glynda said while nodding in respect to Mando.
"I must admit, that was quite the site to behold." Port said with a chuckle. "Why, I would even say that as daring and courageous as one of the feats I pulled off when I was younger."
"Ren, could you actually do that?" Ruby asked the ninja of JNPR with stars in her eyes. "If so, can you teach me?!"
"Um... if we ever find a cannon that can rotate a full 360 degrees, I could see if I could replicate the move." Ren replied to Ruby. "And if I can do it successfully, then I could probably teach you."
"Well at least now there shouldn't be anything else between these two and the asset." Jaune said, still smiling at the awesome display Mando pulled off.
"Hopefully that's the case. But given what we all just saw, I think Mando and IG-11 will be able to handle it." Pyrrha said with a smile.
__________________________
Mando Ren then proceeded to get off the Gatling laser cannon, looking around to see if any more Niktos were alive, only to see dead bodies littering the area.
"Well done." IG-11 complemented Mando as his bomb was still beeping, prompting Ren to look towards the assassin droid. "I will disengage self-destruct initiative."
Mando Ren walked over to the droid, offering a hand to help him up as IG deactivated the bomb in his chest. "You know, you're not so bad. For a droid."
"Agreed." IG-11 replied back in reference to Mando as he was helped up.
"That blaster hit looks nasty." Mando stated as he looked to where a blast from the cannon has damaged IG a bit. "You okay?"
"Running a quick diagnostic." IG-11 said as he did an internal scan of himself, his optics flashing red with a whiring sound before the sound stopped. "It has missed my central wiring harness."
"Is that good?" Mando Ren asked.
IG-11 looked to Mando before answering him. "Yes."
__________________________
"Awe. Mando's slowly warming up to IG-11." Ruby said with a soft smile.
"I wonder if it will be enough for these two to become partners?" Blake questioned in thought. "They make for a proficient duo."
"Only time will tell." Weiss said to the cat faunus before looking back to the viewing screen. "They need to focus on retrieving the asset first."
__________________________
"Well, now we just need to get the door open." Mando Ren said as he and IG looked to the large blast doors.
Just then, an idea popped into both of their minds at the same time as they slowly looked towards the Gatling laser cannon.
__________________________
"Oh. Yeah." Yang slowly said while nodding with a knowing smirk.
"It's better that Mando and IG were thinking of the same thing too." Jaune said with a small chuckle.
__________________________
The viewing changed to the dark inside of the building that the blast doors protected, only for the sound of blaster fire to be heard from outside as, hitting the rims of the doors and sending sparks flying.
Once the blaster fire ceased, the doors soon fell inward with a clang, Mando Ren and IG-11 walking into the building.
__________________________
'Knock knock.' Neo said with an approving smile.
"Hell yeah. Badasses, coming through." Yang said while still holding a smirk.
"I wish we had our scrolls." Ruby said with a small whine. "This would make such an awesome picture to take."
"I know, right?" Nora asked in agreement with Ruby. While the image was awesome to look at, she wished she could still take a picture of it.
__________________________
The two bounty hunters stood still atop the downed doors, looking around for any signs of life. Just then, a Nikto came out of a corner, getting ready to fire at them only for Ren to quickly shoot him in the chest, killing the Nikto.
"Anyone else?" Mando asked as he holstered his blaster.
The two bounty hunters slowly walked inside the building as IG spoke. "The tracking fob is still active. My sensors indicate that there is a life form present."
Mando currently had his fob out, moving it around as the beeping quickened with each moment he moved the fob to the right. Mando saw that the fob beeped the quickest when pointed towards a large, mechanical, oval-like object covered by a net and hovering off the ground.
__________________________
"Is... is that it?" Weiss asked as she squinted her eyes a bit at the silver pod.
"It can't be... can it?" Ruby asked with a confused look.
"Well, Mando's fob is beeping more towards the direction of the pod." Blake said, though even she was unsure of herself.
"I mean, if that's where the fob is pointing." Yang said as she too was confused, as was most of the audience. "I was.. kind of expecting their asset to be a bit bigger."
"What thing would be 50 years old and be small enough to fit inside that small thing of a pod?" Roman asked with a raised brow.
However, those like Ozpin, Oobleck, and Ren looked at the pod in curiosity, rather than confusion.
"I think we're about to find out." Ozpin said as he a form of nagging feeling poking in the back of his head just by looking at the pod.
__________________________
As Mando got close to it, the beeping from the fob intensified before stopping completely, prompting Mando Ren to remove the net covering off of the oval-like object. IG walked over to the object alongside Ren as they both looked at it before Mando Ren pressed a button on the front of it, causing the object to split open at the top and sliding down into the bottom of itself. The object now looking similar to a crib.
Mando stepped back as he and IG-11 looked to see what was inside, only for Mando to look on in confusion. "Wait. They said 50 years old."
"Species age differently." IG stated as Mando Ren continued to at what was inside the crib. "Perhaps it could live many centuries."
The audience was soon shown just what kind of creature was inside the crib. The creature, covered in a brown blanket, pulled down its covering with a small, green, two-fingered, sharp-nailed hand, revealing its face. The creature was baby of sorts, dressed in small light-brown robes small, it's skin green with a wide, soft, yet wrinkly head accompanied by two long pointed ears. The Child's eyes were large and brown, full of curiosity as it cooed upon seeing Mando Ren and IG-11.
__________________________
"Oh my God..." Ruby trailed off as her eyes widened before she grew a very large smile. "He's so cute!!"
"Isn't that the most adorable thing you've ever seen?" Yang asked as swooned at the Child.
"Hmm. I forgot that this was the common reaction here." Vortech said in a slightly annoyed tone.
"Aww." Jaune and Pyrrha said at the same time, finding the adorableness of the Child.
"Oh God... t-that thing is way too cute." Roman said as he flinched upon the image of the Child. "Am I... actually feeling happy when I look at that thing? Is it wrong that I'm feeling happy yet diabetic at the same time?"
Neo was practically gushing over the Child before she signed out what was on her mind. 'I want him!'
"Awe, who's the cutest wittle thing ever? You are, oh yes you are." Weiss unknowingly cooed at the Child.
"And it's getting worse." Vortech commented as he gave Weiss a strange look.
"Daw." Even Port swooned over the Child as his eyes softened.
"Who would put a bounty on something so small and innocent?" Glynda demanded with a swoon as she too fell under the sway of the Child's appearance.
Ozpin and Oobleck were most silent in their observations of the Child. Oobleck seemed to be frozen stiff as he was seemingly entranced upon seeing the Child. Ozpin, on the other hand, felt some form of connection to the Child, one he could not yet explain.
"Have you ever seen anything more cute, Ren?" Nora asked her pattern as she too gushed over the Child.
Speaking of Ren, he was nearly as frozen as Oobleck was upon seeing the Child, though there was more to how Ren acted. When Ren looked into the eyes of the Child, he saw someone that needed to be cared for and watched over. One that needed to be sheltered and protected from the evils of the known world.
"And... what species of alien is this?" Ozpin slowly asked as he turned to look at Vortech.
"No one knows. Not even I." Vortech said. "The species of this alien is of the rarest in the galaxy. They don't even have a homeworld to be named to."
"I see..." Ozpin trailed off in thought as the viewing continued.
__________________________
"Sadly, we'll never know." IG-11 stated as he raised his blaster towards the Child.
"No." Ren said, abruptly stopping IG by using his hand to stop the assassin droid from raising his blaster any further.
__________________________
"Wait, what?!" Ruby yelled out as her pupils' practicality dilated.
Everyone seemingly had similar reactions to Ruby, as even Ren became uncharacteristically stiff in shock towards what IG-11 was intending to do.
__________________________
IG-11 looked to Mando as Mando looked to him. "We'll bring it in alive."
"The commission was quite specific." IG said as the Child looked at IG-11 and Ren.
"The asset was to be terminated." IG-11 said as he raised his blaster at the Child, Mando Ren merely watching from the side.
__________________________
"Who's commission?!" Weiss shouted. "The client said termination was optional if they couldn't bring him in alive!"
"I guess the client doesn't really care so long as he gets the asset." Blake said as she narrowed her eyes in thought of the Imperial client.
"That bastard." Yang swore through gritted teeth.
Even Ren seemed peeved at this, though his face remained stoic, he tightly gripped the arm of his chair.
__________________________
The viewing zoomed in on Mando's helmet, the audience awaiting for something to happen until a blaster shot was heard, the flash of the bolt showing for a moment on Mando Ren's helmet.
The next moment, IG-11 was shown falling backwards into the floor, sizzling as his optics shut off. The assassin droid now offlined.
__________________________
"Oh, thank God." Ruby let out a heavy sigh of relief.
Many in the audience assumed the worst when they heard the blaster fire, but like Ruby, were relieved to see that the blaster fire came from Mando shooting IG-11.
"That nearly gave me a heart attack." Glynda said as she put her hand in her chest.
"Man, even I was scared for a moment." Roman muttered to himself while Neo let out a quiet sigh of relief, wiping a bit of sweat off her forehead.
"Poor IG." Ruby said while shaking her head. "If only you didn't have to follow your programming."
"Regardless, at least the Child is safe." Weiss said with a small sigh.
"While the actions of IG-11 will certainly prevent my counterpart from having a more positive view on droids, what is important is that the Child is safe." Ren stated as he calmed his nerves, loosening his grip on the arm of his chair.
__________________________
Mando Ren slowly holstered his blaster as he looked at cooing Child, slowly raising his arm as he held his finger out for the baby alien, the Child reaching out for the Ren's finger with his small hand.
And with that, the viewing screen turned to black as the cowboy-esc theme from earlier played in the darkness, the sound of various other instruments playing that included guitars, a piano, and various synthesizers.
__________________________
"So, what did everyone think of our first universe?" Vortech asked the audience.
"It was awesome!" Ruby cheered.
"It was absolutely the best! And I don't even care that we've only seen one universe so far, I stand by my statement!" Nora said with a bright smile.
"It was quite the unique and informative experience." Oobleck commented.
"I found it enjoyable." Ren said with a small smile, glad that the Child is safe.
"I gotta say, it was pretty spectacular." Roman admitted. "I'd be more than fine with seeing more of it."
"Well I'm glad to hear that." Vortech started. "Because you'll all have to wait until we return to this universe."
"Aw, what? I want to see more of Mando and the baby alien!" Nora whined out as Neo poured in agreement with her.
"And in time, you will." Vortech stated. "But I need to make sure you all get as much insight to these universes as possible. That means I need to constantly change things up here and there."
"Well, seeing as how we won't be seeing more of Mandalorian Ren for the time being, what is the next universe you have planned for us?" Ozpin asked.
"The only thing I can say about this universe..." Vortech trailed off as he started up the viewing screen once more. "Is that it's more than meets the eye."
Chapter End
