Arrival to a new Dimension

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Within the vast cosmos of the multiverse lies a plain of existence that only a few 1% of beings have ever witnessed, only only a greater few have ever theorized. The very center of the vast multiverse.
Foundation Prime.
Desolate and secretive. Foundation Prime has only ever been known to be used as base of operations for one singular individual.
Lord Vortech.
A being of unknown origins, he spent his life studying the mystery of the multiverse, and over time his path was warped from not just studying the multiverse, but ruling it as well.
Gathering the foundation elements, the very corner stones of the multiverse, Vortech planned to use them to combine the multiverse into one singular universe, one where he would reign supreme, a universe without chaos, and only his perfection.
But one could not safely harness the power of the foundation elements, and when his plan was set in motion, the universe selves into chaos.
When all hope seemed lost, when it seemed that Vortech had won, a group of unlikely heroes fought together, side by side, and defeated Vortech, vanishing him to an eternal prison where he could never escape.
But there were others ways to leave a prison, though Vortech would find that his would come with a price.
Location: Foundation Prime.
Present day...
All was quite, the waves of Foundation Prime flowing in their usual rhythm. It would seem that it would be another usual day for the center of the multiverse.
Or so it would seem...
A bright, blue portal opened up right above the waves of Foundation Prime, and from it stepped out a humanoid being whose body seemed ethereal in nature, stars and galaxies showing throughout his body. He wore a brown, asymmetrical pteruge held up by a brown belt with an ornate golden belt buckle that had a red stone in the center of it. Covering his shoulders and part of his upper chest, he wore an ornate, golden pauldrons connected by a similar colored ornate neck guard, the left pauldron raised higher than the right one. Draping from his back was torn, brown cape that flowed in the wind. His helmet was ornate and golden as well, the design consisting of a grill over his mouth was reminiscent of the upper jaw of a skull with two side tusks that went a little bit lower than the grill, four crests atop his helm could be seen, the outer two more larger than the inner two. His eyes glowing blue through the sockets of his helmet. Within his hand was an ornate black staff with a large ring atop the staff, a portal inside it, two smaller rings connected to the larger one below it.
This was Lord Vortech.
"Hahahaha! Yes! Finally!" Vortech laughed in triumph, his voice having a British accent to it. "Free at last!"
Vortech continued to laugh like a madman before coughing a bit.
"Argh. Mgh. Well, with all that done, I suppose I have my revenge to start plotting." Vortech mused to himself.
Slamming his staff onto the ground, Vortech opened up another blue portal and walked towards it. However, when his tried to walk through it, he found that he couldn't.
"Huh?" He asked himself as he kept trying to push himself through the portal, only to soon be pushed onto his back by the force of the portal.
"What in the blazes?!" Vortech asked in confusion as he got up from the ground.
"Having trouble?" The ethereal voice of a female spoke to him.
"What?" Vortech asked. "Who goes there?" He called out.
He looked around until his eyes widened when three large figures soon hovered of him.
"...Huh." Vortech said, slumping his arms as he was dumbfounded by the sight before him.
"You seemed surprised." The ethereal voice of a wise sounding male spoke out.
"Well... in my defense, I didn't think I would come face to face with three primordials when I escaped my prison." Vortech answered.
"You assume you escaped on your own accord." The ethereal voice of a more powerful sounding male spoke to him.
"What?" Vortech asked with widened eyes. "No..."
"Correct." Spoke the female. "We freed you from your prison, but not without cause. We have a mission for you, and until it is completed, you are trapped upon Foundation Prime."
"Wha-I-gah!" Vortech shouted in anger in frustration before calming himself down, though his position was now more slumped. "Fine. What do you want me to do?"
The wise male voice spoke once more. "There are select individuals that you are to gather within Foundation Prime. You are to show them universes that allow them to view alternate versions of themselves in various situations."
".....It's that simple?" Vortech asked. "Hah! Very well. Tell me, who are these people I'm supposed to gather?"
"They are from the world of Remnant." Answered the powerful male voice.
"Remnant..." Vortech said as he tapped his chin in thought, soon coming to a realization. "Oh. That whole mess. Tell me, is that couple still going at it with each other in their secret war?"
"You are to teach them how resolve their issues. Each person that will arrive will each have a lesson to learn. Then, and only then, may you be free from Foundation Prime." The female voice spoke once more.
The three large figures soon vanished, leaving Vortech to his own devices.
"Hmph. Very well." Vortech said as he looked ahead of himself. "Let's get started, shall we?"
Using his staff, Vortech raised the waves around him, forming himself a fortress from where the people of Remnant would soon find themselves in.
Location: Remnant, Vale.
Beacon Academy.
We find our heroes, team RWBY, lounging around in their room, after a day a classes. It had thus been quite the eventful semester. First was when Team RWBY, along with Sun and Neptune of Team SSSN went on their own around Vale to investigate anything in regards to the White Fang. The investigation led to Roman Torchwick piloting a runaway Atlesian Paladin. The four huntresses has gotten Roman in their sights but a new player had entered into the fray, Torchwick's loyal henchwoman, Neo Politan, soon escaping with her boss by using an illusion semblance to trick Yang.
From there on, Team RWBY had the Beacon dance to focus on, with Yang and Weiss as the party planners. The dance was thus far a success, the party even becoming more eventful when Jaune Arc, leader of Team JNPR, showed up at the dance in a dress, a promise he made to Pyrrha Nikos. Soon after, Team JNPR stole the dance floor with a group dance that didn't seem as if it could have happened without any practice. The night was cut short for one Ruby Rose, however, as she went to investigate someone that was sneaking into CCT tower. Ruby had tried to apprehend the intruder, but the intruder escaped the moment Ruby was distracted by the arrival of Atlas General, James Ironwood. After speaking the General, along with Headmaster Ozpin and Deputy Headmistress Glynda Goodwitch about the events at the CCT, Ruby had been sent back to her dorm room, where the rest of her team prodded her for answers.
Now the Team waits in their room, only a few more days till they would be shadowing a senior huntsman on a mission, so all they had to do for the time being was get through their boredom.
All was quite in their dorm room as Ruby and Yang were battling against each other in a video game, Weiss was making strategies for the upcoming Vytal Festival, all the while Blake was still worried about the White Fang and Torchwick. Everything was going fine, that is, until a spiraling blue vortex opened in their room.
"What the Hell?!" Yang asked in shock as he hoped off from the spot she was at and tensed up
"What should we do?" Blake asked as her faunas instincts were telling her that, she should worry of what's on the other side of that portal
"We need to report this to Professor Ozpin." Ruby said as Weiss nodded her head in agreement
However, before any of them could make it to their door, the vortex started to pull at them; sucking them in.
"AAHH!! Help!" Ruby said as she was pulled in the fastest, given her weight and stature
"RUBY!!" The other for yelled out, but they were starting to lose their ground
Blake tried to hold on to their beds, but was pulled in the portal, not long after. Weiss was the next to go, as she lost her footing, slipped, and was pulled right through; leaving Yang to be the last one pulled in
"This SUCKS!!" She yells out as she is pulled in with the others. After a few minutes, the portal closes in a flash.
Location: JNPR DORM
Team JNPR, made up of Jaune Arc, Nora Valkyrie, Pyrrah Nikos, and Lie Ren, were all doing something to pass the time.
Jaune was reading the newest issue of X-Ray and Vav, Pyrrah was studying her notes from class while taking glances at Jaune—her crush—from time to time. Ren was trying to meditate while Nora was pestering him about making her pancakes. What they didn't expect was a blue vortex to open up in their room
"What the Heck?!" Jaune exclaimed as he got up to look at the portal with the rest of his team.
"Everyone stay back! We don't know what this could be." Pyrrah said as the portal started to pull at them.
They held their ground the best they could, but they started to slip up. Jaune was the first one to lose his ground as he was pulled into the portal. Pyrrah, Nora, and Ren quickly grabbed onto his arm, trying to pull him back.
"Hang on Jaune!" Pyrrah yelled out
"Hold tight, Fearless Leader!" Nora exclaimed at the same time
They tried to hold him, but the vortex was too powerful and pulled him in anyways.
"JAUNE!!" "Jaune!" "Jaune-Jaune!" Pyrrah, Ren, and Nora yelled out respectively
Seeing her crush get pulled in the portal, Pyrrah decided to run in after him.
"Come on Renny! We have to go after them!" Nora exclaimed as grabbed onto Ren.
"Nora, wait a sec-!" Ren didn't get to finish, as he was dragged by Nora into the portal. After a few minutes, it too closed.
Location: Ozpin's office
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ozpin, Glynda Goodwitch, Peter Port, and Bartholomew Oobleck, were discussing over plans for when the students would be shadowing huntsmen, and on who would be the moderators for the Vytal Festival. They teachers continued to converse with each other when all of a sudden, a blue vortex opened up in front of the only exit and entrance into Ozpin's office.

"My word!" Port exclaimed in shock

"What could be the cause of such a phenomenon?!" Oobleck asked aloud, as he started to feel a tug from the portal

"Ozpin, do you know what might the cause of this?!" Glynda yelled out, as they were starting to feel a pull from the portal

"I'm afraid not, Glynda!" He yelled back to her with a gritting facial expression, trying to hold his ground along with the rest of his colleagues

Just when it seemed that they would all be pulled in, Glynda used her telekinesis semblance to hold everyone down.

For a moment, it seemed to work, but it was soon evident that the force behind the portal wasn't going to let up so easily. Ethereal blue chains perturbed from the portal and wrapped around the professors, and started to glow red.

The chains picked them up and brought them all trough the portal, closing right after.

Location: Mount Glenn base of operations.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Come on! These explosives aren't gonna load themselves." Roman called out to the White Fang soldiers.
As apart of Cinder's master plan—as Roman called it—he had to oversee operations below the abandoned settlement of Mount Glenn.
It was a job that Roman didn't really like, not just because he had to work with the White Fang—which he considered animals—but because this plan of hers seemed to get more dangerous by the minute.
But what could Roman could do? Hell, what could any huntsmen and huntresses could do against her. Cinder's abilities, it wasn't a normal semblance, and it scared him. Better to be on the winning side than going against a seemingly unstoppable power.
It didn't matter how much he didn't like Cinder and her cronies, he had to look out for himself and Neo, and he wasn't about to get the both of them killed by going against their boss.
Speaking of Neo, the little devil his viewed as a daughter started to walk up to him with a scroll in hand. She gave Roman a look that told right away that it was Cinder on the other line.
Taking hold of the scroll, Roman mentally sighed as he put it up to his ear.
"Hey, Cinder!" Roman said in the best jovial tone he could use for her. "Might I ask what this call is about?"
"No need to seem so stressed, Roman." Cinder sweetly told him, sending his unease. "I'm just checking up on you to see how the operation is going."
"Everything's going fine." Roman waved off. "Everything should be on schedule, just as you want it."
"Good. I shouldn't to have the need to remind you of what would happen should you fail." Cinder replies to him.
Before Roman could reply to her, Cinder had hung up on the other end. Groaning in annoyance, he tossed the scroll back to Neo—who caught skillfully with one hand.
"I really do hate that bitch." Roman muttered to himself as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
Neo slide her thumb across her throat with a smirk on her face, signifying what she wished she could do to Cinder.
Sighing, Roman looked over to a White Fang zealot that had glasses over his mask.
"Hey!" Roman called out the the zealot, gaining his attention. "Perry, was it? Take a group and scout around the ghost town above us. Make sure we don't have any lookie-loos."
"Got it." Perry said as went off.
"You know, I don't know what it is about him, Neo, but I kinda like that guy." Roman said to Neo.
The little henchwoman just rolled her eyes at her boss.
However, before the two partners in crime could do anything else, a glowing, blue vortex opened up right below their feet.
"What the fu—?!" Roman yelled out before he and Neo were soon swallowed up by the portal, it soon closing right after.
"Hmhmhm. Finally! I have all that are needed... for the time being." The ethereal voice of Vortech spoke.
Location: Foundation Prime
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Team RWBY woke up to find themselves dangling in red glowing, blue ethereal chains, as their weapons, are nowhere to be found.

"Guys, is there anyone awake?" The SDC heiress, Weiss Schnee asked her teammates, as they started to stir.

"Yeah... I'm up." Yang said as her eyes started to focus on her surroundings.

"Uh, guys... where are we?" Blake said, as she was the first to adjust to their surroundings, and to say she was stunned, was an understatement.

All around them was a blue and purple sea, with themselves, dangling over a pale blue platform of sorts, that included light blue highlights, and a throne of sorts that she could spot with her eyesight.

"Ahh! Where's my baby?!" Ruby cried out as she was looking for her weapon, Crescent Rose.

"Ruby, is that you?" Team RWBY turns their right to see it was Jaune who spoke to them, as he too, was tied up, along with his team.

"Oh, hey Jaune, did you get sucked through a portal too?" She asked her fellow leader.

"Yeah. It wasn't pleasant." He simply said.

"Once he was pulled through, we went in after him, only to black out and wake up to find the situation we're in now." Pyrrah explained as Ren held a more stoic face, all the while Nora tried to bite her way out of the chains.

"Children, is that you?" The two teams look further left to find Glynda speaking to them.

"Miss Goodwitch!" The majority yelled out in acknowledgment to their combat teacher.

"Are any of you hurt?" Glynda asked her students as she struggled a bit in her chains.

"We're fine, for the most part." Blake replied to her as she too struggled a little in her chains. "I can't say we're in a comfortable position though."

"While it is good to see you all are alright, I would say we still in to figure out where we are." The students look to see Ozpin with them as well, along with Port and Oobleck.

"Argh... my head. Neo, what the Hell happened?" A new voice asked, causing everyone to look further to their left, spotting  two people they were not expecting to see along with them.

Roman Torchwick, and Neo

"Torchwick?!" Team RWBY, along with Glynda, yelled in shock upon seeing the two criminals. Roman and Neo looked to their right to see who else was with them, finding the staff of Beacon along with two of its teams, causing them to freeze up.

"Well... this has to be one of the most awkward moments in my entire life." Roman commented as Neo tried to find a way out of the chains.

"Eh-hem." a new voice spoke up, clearing his throat in the process.

Everyone looked around for the source of the new voice until their eyes landed upon Vortech, who was sitting upon his thrown, waving his hand at them.

"Greetings." Vortech spoke to them. His voice reminding the teachers and students of Beacon academy of Velvet Scarlatina's accent in a way.

"Who... what are you?" Ozpin asked in curiosity.

"An interesting question. Let's get introductions out of the way, shall we? Ruby Rose, Yang Xiao Long, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladona, Jaune Arc, Pyrrah Nikos, Nora Valkyrie, Lie Ren, Peter Port, Bartholomew Oobleck, Glynda Goodwitch, Ozpin, Roman Torchwick, and Neapolitan. Welcome to Foundation Prime, I am Lord Vortech, but you may refer to me as just Vortech." Vortech said as he looked at each and everyone of the Remnantians.

Everyone looked to Vortech with varying looks of confusion and bewilderment, but it was Ren who eventually asked the question on everyone's minds.

"Why did you bring us here?" Ren asked Vortech with a calm face.

"Well, the answer to that is quite simple, really. You are all here to view into alternate dimensions. To see the lives of alternate versions of each and every one of you unfold in various ways." Vortech answered as he used his staff to lower everyone from their hanging positions, and eventually releasing them from the chains, and onto the floor.

"Ow." Jaune groaned a bit as he had landed on his but.

Roman was of one of the first people to get up, dusting himself off before looking to Vortech.

"Uh huh... and what if we refuse to go along with what you want us to do?" Roman asked

"Well... I'm the only one who can allow you to leave. Unless, that is, you want to try and find a way out yourself in this vast sea, that you have no control over." Vortech replied as he used his staff to raise platforms from the waves of Foundation Prime in order to make more room for his guests.

" ...Fair enough." Roman said with wide eyes of surprise.

"Astounding." Oobleck said as he had watched what had happened in awe.

Ozpin looked to Vortech with a raised brow as he thought to himself. "Just what exactly are you?"

"Now, everyone here is meant to behave, I don't want any physical fighting. If you wish to argue with each other, then so be it. Just know that I will pause the viewings until you are done, but I will not let arguments last longer than they should." Vortech explained before he used his powers to form a large building of sorts around the entire area, also making  reclinable chairs and a large screen in the front of the room in the process. Vortech had essentially created his own grand movie theatre.

"While I can't deny, not argue with what I'm seeing... I must ask why, this cretan and his lackey are here with us. If anything, they should placed behind bars." Glynda stated as she pointed her finger at Torchwick. In return she received a middle finger from Roman, and a scowl from Neo.

"Well, my question to you is why not? Being a criminal mastermind can be such taxing work. Even people like Roman and Neo require a vacation now and then." Vortech said before he looked over to Roman and Neo.

"Finally, someone gets it." Roman said as he pointed his hands towards Vortech.

"But Torchwick and his lackey are criminals." Weiss complained. "All they have done is cause trouble in Vale, and constantly steal from every Dust shop in the kingdom."

"You say that as if I shouldn't be proud of it, Ice Queen." Roman said to Weiss with a smirk, eliciting a "Hey!" from Weiss in the process.

Vortech looked at Roman before looking to Weiss. "To answer your question, Miss Schnee, I don't make all of the rules, and to be quite honest, I couldn't care less about what he has done, or what any of you do for the matter. I have a job to do, and I intend to complete it to the letter."

Weiss looked like she wanted to retort, but didn't get the chance as Vortech continued to speak.

"Now, for everyone's information, if you look towards the ceilings, there a glowing runes etched into them." Vortech as he pointed to the roof, everyone looking up to see ornate symbols glowing blue upon the ceiling. "What is the purpose of these symbols, you might ask. Well, to answer your questions, they dampen your aura, and prevent any of you from activating your semblances."

"Aw, what?" Yang groaned out. "You can't be serious."

Vortech merely looked to Ruby, speaking to her. "Ruby. Why don't you be a dear, and test the effects of the symbols?"

"Uh, me?" Ruby asked as she pointed to herself. "What exactly do you want me to do?"

"Is it not so obvious?" Vortech asked her. "Run."

"Oh, hehe. Right." Ruby said with a nervous chuckle as she rubbed the back of her neck.

With that out of the way, Ruby got into a running stance, eyeing towards the stairs that led to seats in the upper rows of the theater. The moment Ruby started to moving, she immediately widened her eyes as her semblance didn't activate, only allowing herself to run at moderate speeds.

"What the heck?" Ruby questioned.

"Does that prove my point?" Vortech asked the audience as each of them looked to each other or quietly conversed with one another in response to Ruby not being able to activate her semblance.

"I guess that settles it." Blake muttered to Weiss and Yang.

"To be truthful, I've been trying to activate my semblance as well, to no effect either." Weiss whispered to them. "I guess those symbols really do prevent us from using our semblances."

"Well, at least everyone gets to know how I feel." Roman said to Neo, seeing as how he never unlocked his semblance.

As Ruby walked back over to her team in a slightly sulking manner, Vortech cleared his throat, getting everyone's attention.

"Now then, everyone be seated... the show is about to begin." Vortech stated, prompting everyone to slowly pick their seats.

The Beacons staff chose to sit in the right side of the middle rows while the students chose to sit down in front. Meanwhile Roman and Neo chose to sit in the top right of the rows in the far back of the seats, closer to where Vortech sat on his throne.

"Soooo... what are watching?" Ruby asked Vortech in pure curiosity as to what they would see.

"Tell me, Miss Rose, what do the greatest stories usually start with?" Vortech asked her.

"Uh, Once upon a time." Ruby answered him.

"Ha! Only for amateurs." Vortech replied to her with a chuckle. "No no no. The greatest stories never started with something as simple as Once upon a time. Especially not the one we are about to view into."

"And what exactly would this story be?" Ozpin asked Vortech.

Vortech calmly chuckled before speaking, waving his staff to the viewing screen, and causing it to come to life. "This story started a long time ago. In a galaxy far, far away."
