He pulls out some files from a portal and reads through them.

Ruby: We kinda use weapons as huntsman.

Jane: He's a caretaker, yet he has an uncanny knowledge of weapons and how to operate them.

Y/N: My commissions from Jed require them.

Jane: Commissions?

Y/N: Missions in different worlds and such. Sometimes they're dangerous, and I've received extensive training and a few select powers to help me.

He puts the ammo boxes where they were before they all head upstairs.

Jane:......Can I speak to you girls?

Ruby: Y/N we'll be with you soon!

Y/N: Take care!

Y/N leaves to Shouko who needed help carrying some books as Jane stops in the hallway connecting the gun room to the main hallway upstairs.

Jane: Alright does he work for the government?

Ruby: No. He just works as a caretaker and does his job for Jed.

Jane: What kind of job?

Ruby: Helping the unfortunate people, mercenary work, defending villages and cities, training others....many things.

Jane: Did he do anything to you both?

Yang: No. *confused* What's wrong?

Jane: *narrow* Are you sure he hasn't done anything to you both at all or any of the girls?

Ruby: No he hasn't.

Jane: Is he really 18?

They all nod their heads as she took a moment to think.

Jane: Why were you chosen to come here?

Ruby: It's a random selection apparently from different worlds. I just came here and yeah.

Jane: Does he have any ulterior motives? Do you trust him?

Yang: No. We trust him.

Now I have nothing, nowhere to return to, no one to rely on except for the words of strange people that took me in for a week before I came here. Now......tell me. Did you come here willingly, or were you forced to come here?

Ruby: Mrs. Doe........do you know what the purpose of Y/N's job as a caretaker is?

Jane: What?

Ruby: It's to give those who gone through tough times a better life.

Jane:....So the girls went through tough times. What happened?

Ruby: Ok.....Shouko and Yuzuru were both bullied relentlessly in school, with Shouko getting beat up and made even more deaf before her surgery. As if that wasn't enough, their home life was going poorly, and they were both sold to mafias and gangs. Their life revolved around doing hard labor for them before they were both moved to a private military organization where.......they would've been forced to service men despite their age.

Jane had a surprised look on her face as Ruby continues.

Ruby: Collei was inflicted with an incurable disease. In hopes of helping her, her parents sent her off to a doctor....only for her to be experimented on and tortured by injecting the residue of fallen gods into her body. Jed's workers reversed the detrimental affects and cured her body.

Jane: G-Go on.

Ruby: Layla was sold off to be a prostitute at the age of 12. For more than a decade she was forced to enjoy what she had to do, even forced to service the prime minster's son of her country and tortured many times before Y/N rescued her.

Jane had a look of shock and disgust on her face as Ruby continues.

Ruby: Kaede was experimented on and tortured in a diclonius research facility for her own kind. There she was tortured through various methods of strangulation, cutting, forcefully trained her abilities to the point of bleeding from her brain, injected with various poisons, starved, watched her fellow species die.

Jane: *gasp* T-That's horrible.

Ruby: Rei suffered under the hands of her physically abusive husband who forcefully married her for the sake of making a heir to surpass the strongest hero in their world. Years of abuse, making children only for them to be deemed failed masterpieces after literal suicidal training....it's all wrong. Shoka is her youngest daughter.....yet her husband trained her just like the others. Depriving her of a normal childhood, physically abusing her during training, calling her a failure......the scar on her face was from Rei who lost it. They apologized but.....it only makes one man to ruin your life.

Jane:....

Ruby: Mayu......*sigh* I don't even know what to say. She lost her father years ago, and her mother never paid any attention to her at all. When her mother married another man......she was abused daily.....even to the point of sexual abuse.

Jane: THAT'S WRONG!

She yells loudly, not wanting to hear of this though quiets down.

Jane: What about the mother?

Ruby: She never cared for Mayu....and the sad thing is that she was "jealous" of the attention Mayu was getting....so she ran away and was picked up by Jed's workers.

Jane: *scowl* What happened to the parents?

Ruby: Oh about that. Y/N took a hammer and crushed his balls into paste and broke his jaw. The mother was arrested along with the father.

Jane had to hold back a snort while gesturing for Ruby to continue.

Ruby: Our dad......*wince* Isn't the best person. We-

Jane: You don't need to talk about it. I believe I have a clear view........of what could've happened.

Yang calms down, her hands including her mechanical one not trembling anymore before slumping against the wall.

Jane: Are you alright?

Yang: *sigh* Just some memories I'd rather forget.

Jane: I'm.....sorry.

Yang: Oh no it's alright. *wink* I'm a tough girl ya know.

Jane: What about Y/N?

Ruby: About that.....he was 27 before he died-

Jane: Huh?

Unsure, she asked them more questions about Y/N which they responded truthfully, trying their best to calm her nervousness and show her that Y/N can be trusted.

Jane: I'm.........still not convinced.

Yang: *pat* We tried sis.

Ruby: *sigh* I know.....*smile* It's almost dinner so let's head to the dining room!

Shoka panics, tossing some stuff into a pot as Rei got to mixing.

They all gave their suggestions, Jane recognizing none of them as they mowed down their meals.

Everyone looks at her as she struggled to speak.

Jane: Sorry...I'm just not used to all...this. Can I ask a few questions?

Jane: Are you all comfortable living with Y/N?

Kaede: I have psychokinetic abilities because of my genetics as a Diclonius.

Ruby/Yang: Aura and semblances.

Y/N: The others have no abilities.

Jane: And you're all happy with each other despite the fact some of you are just human with no powers?

Shoka: Power doesn't define our abilities to make relationships with others around us. I mean even Rover has things you'd consider abilities yet he gets along with other dogs and even bunnies.

Rei: Doesn't matter. What matters is your heart and what's inside.

Ruby: *sheepish* Yuzuru is sort of a bigger sis for me even though she's almost 15.

She was warming up to them all, everyone happy and content with their life as the sun sets.

Yuzuru: I CALL TOP BUNK!

Jane: This is quite a spacious room.
