Warning: Mentions of Blood
Sketches grunted a bit as she took the large pumpkin into her hands. Being decently flexible, she was able to use her foot to ring the doorbell. A few screams caused her to flinch as the door opened to reveal Hybrid.
"Oh, hey Sketches, you need help?" She smiled and nodded. "That'd be amazing, the trunk's still open with a few more pumpkins." He nodded and opened the door wider for her to pass through and into the house.
As she attempted to carry the large squash into the kitchen, Rockabiee walked by. "Whoa, here let me get that." She said as she took the pumpkin out of her friend's hands. "What are these for anyway?" Rockabiee asked as she set the the pumpkin down on the counter.
She gestured with her head, asking Rockabiee to talk with her while they got the rest of the pumpkins. "I thought we could try to carve some pumpkins together." She shrugged. Rockabiee rose an eyebrow. "You are aware that literally none of us know anything about carving pumpkins, correct?"
Sketches chuckled. "It'll be fun, besides, we need something to occupy our time." She said. The two each picked up a pumpkin from the trunk. "Hybrid, Kiyochi and I are going trick-or-treating, though." She said proudly.
Sketches furrowed her eyebrows as she stared at the dark skinned girl. "You're full grown adults, you are aware, right?" Rockabiee playfully rolled her eyes. "You can never be too old for trick-or-treating." Sketches giggled as they set the two pumpkins they got on the counter.
"Since when do you like going out much?"
"Since it involved getting free candy for literally saying three words"
Sketches heard Hybrid go out one more time. 'He'll probably get the last of the pumpkins, there's only one or two anyway.' She thought as she lazily flopped onto the couch. Rockabiee eyed her with a slight smirk.
"You feeling tired?" Sketches pouted a bit at her. "That tends to happen when you spend your afternoon picking up pumpkins and placing them into your trunk." Her friend laughed at her sarcasm. "You look like Kiyochi on the weekends."
Sketches looked at her. "Speaking of Kiyochi, where is she anyway?" She asked, sitting up a bit. Rockabiee looked up the stairs. "KIYOCHI!" She hollered. Large stomps echoed around the house. "WHAT?!" A familiar voice screamed back.
The two looked at the girl who seemed to be holding a pair of scissors. Sketches now jolted up, seeing the scissors in her hand. "Kiyochi, why do you have scissors?" She asked carefully. Kiyochi looked at the scissors, then back to her roommates.
"Secret~" she smiled as she snipped then twice and disappeared back into her room. Rockabiee sighed. "I swear someday we're gonna have to pay for that girl's medical bill.." she mumbled. Just then, Hybrid walked in, two pumpkins in hand.
"Are we carving pumpkins or something?" He joked. Sketches nodded. "As a matter of fact, we are." His smiled fell as he set them down. "Wait, for real? We're gonna miss out on all the good candy though!" He whined. Sketches deadpanned. "You guys are actually serious about this trick-or-treating thing? The two nodded, smiling.
.
.
By now Kiyochi was downstairs, completely passed out the couch. Rockabiee was crisscross on another couch, her phone with a reference on one leg and her sketchbook in another. The brunette looked back and forth in concentration as she drew quietly.
Hybrid was grabbing a few knives from the drawer in the kitchen while Sketches was getting the pumpkins all set up. She turned to her girlfriends on the couch, lost in their own little world. (by girlfriends I mean the platonic way)
She smiled softly as she walked up to Kiyochi. "Kiyochi..." She whispered, only to get a loud groan in return. Rockabiee looked up, confused by the noise. Sketches sighed. She then slightly nudged her friend. Then a little harder. Nothing. She turned to Rockabiee, who nodded and threw a pillow next to her at Kiyochi.
The girl cursed, almost falling off the bed. "You bitch!" She shouted, clearly annoyed form being disrupted from her nap. Sketches held her down before she could attack the dark skinned girl. "Come on, we're going to carve pumpkins."
Kiyochi blinked once. Then twice.
"Wait-what?"
"Just come to the dining room."
The two walked over to the table filled with exactly four pumpkins for each of them. Kiyochi stretched a bit as she looked at the large pumpkins in front of her. "Sooo, what do we do?" She asked.
Rockabiee noticed the knives next to the large fruit. "I guess we just grab some knives-" "Knives?!" Kiyochi's tired face formed into an excited smile. Hybrid looked at Sketches. "I'm guessing you didn't think this through all too well?" He chuckled, to which Sketches shot him a glare.
After moments of bickering, it was finally decided that Kiyochi would be able to use the knife, under adult supervision from all of them. The roommates got to work cutting open the middle of the pumpkin stem, occasionally glancing at their shorter friend.
The house filled with laughter and loud chatting from everyone.
"Ew, the heck is this?!"
"It's just the insides of the pumpkin."
"We have to take that disgusting shit out?!"
"Well we can't just leave it there!"
Yet, all that laughter and talking fell silent when the sound of the metal blade hit soft skin. Everyone slowly stared at Kiyochi's hand to see the knife on one of her fingers. She took the knife out only for blood to spew on the person next to her. Rockabiee.
Everyone's breath hitched as they saw what had just happened. A blood curling scream from both of them caused chaos to ensue.
.
.
After that hectic incident, carving pumpkins was banned in the household until further notice. Kiyochi currently had a bandaged finger while Rockabiee wiped off the dry blood from her cheek, unlocking a new traumatizing experience.
"Sooo, are we still going trick-or-treating, orrr" Hybrid's reminder caused the the girls' faces to light up. "Let me go get my costume!" They shouted simultaneously, running up the stairs and into their rooms. Sketches sighed and shook her head.
After a few moments, footsteps could be heard. Both Hybrid and Sketches looked towards the noise to be met with a chic 90s icon and an adorable ghost. "Are you Betty Boop?" Sketches asked, walked towards Rockabiee.
"Yep, though the wig was a tad bit hard to get on and making it all fluffy was a whole nother story." Sketches then turned to Kiyochi and smiled. "I see you're a-" "A ghost!" Kiyochi exclaimed. Sketches suppressed a laugh that was erupting inside of her.
"Well you look absolutely adorable-" Her compliment was interrupted by a realization from Rockabiee. "Are those my bedsheets?" She asked. Kiyochi stared at her and then coughed awkwardly. "Not anymore!" She smiled.
Rockabiee deadpanned. Sketches pinched the bridge of her nose. "Anyway, Hybrid, are you rea- Hybrid?" The trio realized that their friend had disappeared. "Hang on a minute!" A voice from upstairs called out. A wave of relief washed over them.
'How did he even get up there without us seeing him..' All three girls thought. About five minutes later, the trio was met with a tall male staring down at him, fur sticking out from his ripped sleeves as well as his messy hair and wolf ears.
"I know, I look amazing, hold your applause, ladies." He said as he walked down the stairs. Rockabiee rolled her eyes playfully as the others eyed him. "Yeah, sure.. anyway, come on let's go!" Kiyochi said, eager to leave and go trick-or-treating.
They grabbed their trick-or-treat baskets and walked out, waving to Sketches. "They're going to commit a felony, I'm calling it right now." She whispered when they were far enough.
.
.
Kiyochi skipped happily as her two friends walked behind her. Lots of people have them weird looks, wondering why three grown adults were participating in something so childish. They paid no mind, Rockabiee even waved to some kids as well as blowing a friendly kiss or two.
The first house they reached had a decent amount of Halloween decorations. Hybrid rang the doorbell as they waited patiently for the owner to answer. Soon, the door opened to reveal a middle aged woman, maybe in her late forties. "Trick-or-Treat!" The trio exclaimed happily.
This caught the lady off guard for a bit, but she soon laughed out loud. "Officially the cutest thing I've seen tonight." She said as she handed each one of them a handful of candy. They thanked her and moved on.
This action happened the rest of the night. People would either smile or be incredibly confused as just give them candy. Either way worked for them. Finally, the clock was about to strike eleven and there were only a few people left on the road.
"Okay, let's head home, or else Sketches is gonna literally burst." Hybrid suggested. "But whyyy?" Kiyochi whined in return.
"Kiyochi, your bag is literally overflowing.."
"Your point?"
Rockabiee giggled a bit. "Come on, we'll get to gamble each other's candy when we get home, and this Betty Boop is ready to go to sleepy...sloop." The two stared at her in utter confusion. "Wha-" Kiyochi asked. "Let's just head home. "Waittt, one more house please." The shorter friend begged.
Hybrid looked at Rockabiee who simply shrugged, causing Kiyochi to smile. "Let's go!" She said m, already skipping to the nearest house she could find. The house was incredibly decorated, with much detail, even small candles here and there. "Huh, nice house." Hybrid mumbled under his breath.
Kiyochi rang the doorbell. The sounds of plates crashing and people screaming could be heard from inside. They all flinched slightly, a bit afraid of who would open the door. Finally, the door opened to reveal a young adult, maybe their age. She seemed annoyed at them being here. "Trick-or-Treat?" They all said as more of a question.
The girl furrowed her eyebrows. "What are you, five?" She went back inside for a moment and came back with three toothbrushes, and handed it to them. Hybrid hesitantly took all three of them. As soon as they all reached his hand, the door slammed shut..
"Well damn, someone chose a bitchy attitude today..." Rockabiee mumbled as they left the house, Kiyochi kicked a small candle in her way, feeling a bit annoyed now. They had only walked a few feet when Hybrid stopped and sniffed the air.
He turned around, his eyes widening. Rockabiee and Kiyochi, who had noticed his presence was missing, turned around to be met with the large house erupting into flames. "Oh shit..." Kiyochi whispered as she backed away, but as luck could have it, another stupid candle had found it's way to her foot, causing flames to get caught on her body. She screamed, alerting the others.
"Fuck!" Hybrid cursed as he rushed towards her, trying to to pay down the fire, only got it to somehow get on himself. Rockabiee watched this with widened eyes. The sounds of other voices from neighbors only brought her back to reality. She grabbed their burning hands, and the trio ran.
.
.
Sketches heard the familiar ring of the doorbell. Getting up, she walked up and opened it, only to be met with her roommates, two of them having small flames on their bodies, while the other looked to have ashes on her body.
She stared at them in utter shock. "No one died." Kiyochi said, smiling awkwardly. "That's debatable." Rockabiee said, earning a nudge in the side from Kiyochi.
Happy Halloween Kids~ *que maniacal witch laugh*
