I ran up to a broken down house, it was my fathers. I miss him very much... His house was, as I said, broken down. It was teared apart and looked like it had never held a family in it. I was confused. His house was never like this, it had a... Aroma... That made you smile from ear to ear.

I walked up to the front door, scared to death. I then realized, you are you Ruby. No matter how people want you to be, you are yourself, and you can never change that. No matter how hard you try, and people will still love you for that. I built up my confidence and gently opened the door.

I walked inside, being careful not to break the floor. It was dusty beyond belief. I got scared when a rat flew across the floor, and I grabbed for Charlie. He wasn't there. I grunted in frustration realizing that Nick must've stole it from me. I shook my head and kept going.

"So.. What do we have here?" Said a voice, oh how I wish I had Charlie.

" Nick. " I spat.

"Come out." Nick gently came out from the shadows, but this time he looked. . Different. He had longer hair, and more of an evil smirk than usual. He also looked younger..

"What's going on? Why are we in like... When my mother and father were kids?"  I Whispered.

" Oh, you found out? " He chuckled in response.

"Uh, kinda hard not to."

" here's the deal Ruby. I brought you here, to show you, that your father ain't coming back. I brought you here to show you that your mother was so happy at this time, and maybe, it she didn't have you, she would still be alive. " Nick whispered. It stabbed my heart, thinking that I was my mother's reason that she had to die. It was... It probably was... Oh no..

"W-What?" I stuttered.

" Its your fault she died Ruby, and it's your fault that your father isn't coming back. " Nick said. He smirked and moved closer to me.

"And it's your fault that Lilly's dead." He whispered in my ear. I fell to the ground, and started crying. Why? My life is just about people around me getting hurt. Now my best friend that tried to protect me got hurt.

"And soon Scott, and after that Poppy, and then all the people you know and love will be in Deaths hands. You can't race the clock Doll, you just gotta give up in life." Nick walked away from me gently, his foot steps echoing in the floor.

" No. Nick, what happened to y-you? And out of all the people in this world, why did you choose me? " I asked, no human being can just be born evil. They have to have a reason, something that happened to them.

"Its none of your business what "happened to me", and, you were cute, so I can picked you out of the crowd." He chuckled and sat down next to me.

" no but what really happened. " I asked. He looked at me for a long time, contemplating what to say.

"So you really want to know?" He asked. I nodded and gave a slight " yes".

"Ok then.." He breathed in and out for a moment, and then started.

" When I was young, I built something amazing. Something.. .that no scientist was ever able to do. I loved this machine. I called it, Waster Mager, wierd name but, I was only a teenager.. A geek one. It was a time machine, thats how I brought you here. With a time machine. " He took a deep breathe in.

"Your father helped me with building that machine."  Then he let all of his air back out. I stared at him for a minute, in disbelief.

"Really?"

" Yes, do you think I would be lying right now? " He spat. I looked at him and shrugged.

"Go on." I said.

" Ok then. We had made the machine, and we're going to present it to a famous scientist at the time. It was a beautiful plan, and we were gonna get rich off of it too. The day we planned on presenting it to the scientists, your dad bailed on me, because he had a date, with you mother. He left me, it the rain. He even forgot to bring the tarp, which ment, our project sizzled, and died from the water. Our dreams died because of him and his "girlfriend". My life hasn't been the same ever since."

" So I decided that when he had you, I would make your life miserable. " He whispered in my ear. I shivered as he did this.

"Why so much revenge. Let that anger go." I said staring right at his face, our noses touching thats how close we were.

" Because, he ruined my life. I'm the one that made him missing, I killed him Ruby. I killed your father. " I looked at him in a different world.

"BECAUSE OF A STUPID MACHINE????" I screamed, rattling the house.

" YOU KILLED MY FATHER, THE ONE I LOVE, AND MY MOTHER, AND BEST FRIEND, OVER A MACHINE. " I yelled.

"IDIOTIC PIECE OF POOP WHY, WHY?" I stared at him, having a staring contest like this was not at all hard for me, but maybe for him..

"Revenge." He said. He then broke down in tears. There was a long silence between me and him. I looked at him, and finally, having compassion.. I put my arm around him, and hugged him. He cried, and I started crying to. I'm hugging my murderer in kindness.

"Ruby?!?!?" Someone said. I turned around to see Scott standing in the doorway.

" I followed Nick, are you ok? "  He frantically asked. He then was confused at the sight of me and Nick.

"What." He asked. I said "Shh" and carried Nick to the doorway (obviously, Nick is really small, or Ruby is just buff 😂). I looked at Scott nodded and sat him down.

"I know where he hid the thing." Scott said and pulled out of Nicks Pocket a time traveling device.

" Ok, use it. " I said. Scott nodded and clicked a button.

"I forgive you Nick.."
