"How are you feeling now?" Eli asked as she changed the bandages.

"Better than before, thanks- ouch" I winced as she touched the swollen part on the neck.

"I told you not to exert yourself, why didn't you listen to me," she said gently applying the antiseptic.

"I never thought this would happen"

"You should've just taken some rest, your cut will open up again if you stress yourself," she said tying the bandage firmly.

"Okay, I will take care"

"Good, now take some rest," she said getting up with a smile "bye," and went out of the room.

Lovely girl, eh boy

"Shut up will you, I am in no mood to listen to your talks"

Okay but, I know you have a thing for her, accept it.

"No, I don't"

Really, then why did you go to the tower for practice even after you were injured, you just wanted to meet her again.

I kept quiet, knowing that this was the only way to avoid him.

It has been three days from when I came to know about the towers. I had tried the touchsight tower on the same day itself and nearly escaped death, with a deep cut at the same scar behind the neck.

I was quickly dispatched to the doctor where I was for a whole day before, I came out. That was when I first met Eli.

The day before yesterday I tried the danger tower and it went without the hitch. I was able to defend myself from every attack until the end without the buzzer sounding.

The buzzer was a system in the towers which would activate if we fail or are severely injured. It indicates the end of the part more like game over. We have to restart from the ground level if the buzzer starts.

It had me so hyped up that I thought I could even take on the reflex tower without much difficulty. So, I tried the reflex tower yesterday. 

I had to advance to the top, amidst a shower of arrows, it was easy at first but as I reached the first floor two guards attacked me.

I had to fight them while dodging the arrows. It was not that tough and I thought that maybe I will make it. As I went above matter became worse. Blades and arrows began raining down while I had to face three guards.

It was a little tough but, I managed it and advanced above, here the speed and the randomness of the projectile increased.

I somehow took care of the four guards on that level and started walking up.

This was the second last level, Five hefty warriors stood in front of me with armors. Taking out my sword I planned a tactic and quickly jumped between them. That way I was secured from the projectiles and was able to concentrate fully on the warriors.

I defeated them all in the end with only a sore leg, where one of them had slammed their sword hilt.

That was why when I tried to dodge an oncoming arrow, I was a little slow. The arrow missed my head and lodged itself at the name of the neck where my scar ended. Resulting in its opening.

So here I was again, sitting in the bed to take some rest.

"Hello Dylan, hope you are doing well?" master. K asked entering the room.

"Yes, I will be able to train in a day," I said trying to sit up straight.

"Relax, lie down. I just came here to check upon you" he said in a kind voice.

"Oh, thanks"

"I heard that you were able to clear the danger tower and were close to clear the reflex tower as well"

"Yes, master. K" I said feeling a little proud.

"Good, its better than Cyril" master.K said nodding his head.

"Really," I asked feeling a little too proud of myself.

"Yes, he hasn't completed even one of the towers, he was about to complete the south tower but, failed at the last step"

"Oh, is he alright"

"He is, I have to say he manages to avoid injuries better than you," he said with a chuckle. I couldn't help but smile.

"I was thinking about something and wanted your opinion on it," he said a little serious.

"About what?"

"It looks like Cyril is more adept in using the touchsight skill than you are....."

I nodded grudgingly.

"..... While your reflexes and danger senses are better than him"

"Thanks, master. K" I said and he nodded.

"I was thinking wouldn't it be great if you both can work together as a team" He finally said.

"What do you mean, aren't we supposed to be working together anyways," I asked confused.

"Yes but, what I meant was. You could do the killing and assassination part more stealthily than he could, while he can easily gather information about Callens with his touchsight ability"

"I still don't get you, master. K"

"To say it in simple words, He can collect information about the location and hideout of other Callens, while you can go and kill them silently"

"I don't think I will be able to do that," I said doubtfully.

"I know you can, I have faith in you," he said looking expectantly at me.

"I will have to think about this"

"Sure, anyways it was just my thoughts after seeing your capabilities. It can always change after you start some serious training"

"Oh-okay"

"Oh, one more thing as we are on the training matter, I think it would be better if you take a two days rest" he suggested.

"Sure"

"Okay, I will take your leave then," he said getting up and going out of the room.

It was two days now from my meeting with master. K, I had taken his advice about getting some rest.

It provided resourceful, I felt rejuvenated after the rest. Eli came every day to check up on me.

But, I knew that resting time was over. It was now time to work.

I headed towards the east tower, It was the only tower I had aced successfully. It will provide a good workout for me after two days.

I went to the tower and pulled open the large wooden door. I went inside, the air smelled musty.

The towers were made of grey stone, cold air swept my hair as the door closed.

I looked at the spiral stairs in the center heading upwards. There were various stone statutes surrounding the perimeter of the room.

Not all of them were statues some were disguised warriors, expertly blending in.

I took out the blindfold and tied it around my eyes, suddenly darkness overcame my vision. But, I didn't feel afraid instead I felt a sense of awakening. This was because of my danger sense kicking in.

It was like having a third eye, the feeling was exhilarating. I started ahead confidently.

My ears picked up a silent release of air to my right as I reached the stairs. I tensed ready to attack.

There was a swoosh as the enemy's blade sliced the air, I ducked down and elbowed him in the guts. I heard a thump, satisfied I moved ahead.

I soon reached the top and cleared the tower level. I took off my blindfold, I was standing in the open terrace on the tower.

This was the second time I was here, I stopped there closing my eyes. Relaxed.

I opened my eyes after sometimes feeling good and headed down. I thought of doing it once more as I was walking down the stairs.

I reached the ground floor and again turned around ready to do it again but, changed my mind. It was enough for a day.

I pulled open the door and went outside towards my room. I passed the south tower of touchsight on the way. Not knowing why I changed my course and went to the tower.

It looked the same as the east tower from outside, I opened the wooden door and went inside. I was standing on a narrow road.

I knew that the interior of this was same as the other towers, the reason why it was narrow here is because I was at the entrance of a maze. I have to find all the hidden artifacts whilst avoiding the trap to jump to the next floor.

The stairs were in the middle of the maze with locked gates, which will open when I find all the artifacts on this floor.

It wasn't that hard for me, as I had already attempted it once. I quickly aced the third floor, avoiding the trap that I had triggered the last time.

I was now on the fourth floor, this was new territory as it was my first time here.

I started walking and took the left turn confident of my senses to see dangers. The left turn was divided into two ways ahead, one arced to the very back and one going more to the center.

I took the one going to the back, knowing that going to the center will only lead me to the stairs which won't be open till I find all the artifacts.

going to the back proved fruitful as I saw an artifact inside a glass case. I touched the wall beside me and closed my eyes, suddenly I was able to see a thin wire going around the case.

I opened my eyes and smiled, walking carefully I reached the case, taking out my sword, I touched it to the case.  It opened and I took the stone that was inside.

I turned around and started walking back happily, that was when my leg snapped a wire.

I looked down, it was so thin that I had to squint to get a clear look.

I readied myself for the attack, none came. I heaved a sigh of relief. That was when the unexpected happened.

The floor below me vanished and I started falling down four floors.

"AaaaaaaRrrrrGgggggggH"
