Thank you so much for being so patient! Here is another chapter of Call of Fire!

The next hour that follows the tribunal is hectic. I don't really remember much, except that everyone was trying to talk to me, trying to comfort me. (When I say everyone, I mean my friends and my brother, obviously)  I also remember Stina's smug face watching me leave the hall. What a jerk. Three of the councillors are assigned to light leap with me to Exilium. I think they're names are Councillor Kenric, Zarina, and Terik. As we walk to the leaping site with my friends and family,- so I can say my goodbyes- I think about the tribunal.

  Why did they decide to exile me? Where is Exilluim? What are we going to do there? WIll I make friends? WIll they assign an officer to take care of me while I'm exiled? Will my friends worry about me while I'm exiled? Will-

"Hey," a soft voice jolts me out of my thoughts. I look up to see Dex staring at me, concern evident in his eyes.

"Yeah?" I ask.

"Are you ok?" he asks, like the sweetheart he is.

"Of course-" I start, but he cuts me off.

"No, I need a real answer Violet. Don't lie to me. I'm your friend, so I want to know what's going through your head."

I try to reassure him that I'm fine. "Dex, really. I'm fine. I made sure to mentally prepare myself before the tribunal in case this happened."

Dex gives me a look like he doesn't believe me, but he doesn't press on.

  The walk to the leaping area is silent, no one wanting to break the silence. Maybe they just don't know what to say. The leaping area is an open meadow with rolling hills and wildflowers. A river stretches across the horizon.

"Well, I believe it's time for you to say your goodbyes Miss Sencen." Councillor Terik says.

Keefe runs up to me and gives me a hug.

"I know I always tease you about stuff, but I'm really going to miss you." Keefe whispers in my ear.

"I know you don't mean it, why would you? I'm amazing. But in all seriousness, I'm going to miss you too. I hope I can see you again in the future sometime." I say.

"Maybe I should come with you." Keefe says with a glint in his eye.

"Keefe, no. You need to stay here with everyone else. Just because I made a bad decision as a kid, doesn't mean that you need to be punished as well. Stay here. I'll be okay."

"Okay, okay. But if I can ever visit you, I will. Got it?"

"Of course," I say.

Next Marella comes to say goodbye.

"Hey, this will only be temporary, got it?" she assures me.

"How do you know?" I ask.

"I just have a gut feeling, like I always do. And when you get back, I'll tell you all the gossip, alright?"

Typical Marella. "Alright,"

Then comes Biana.

"Violet, I'm going to miss you, alright? But like Marella said, this is temporary, so when you get back I'm going to give you the best makeover!"

I laugh. "Obviously Biana. I'll miss you too."

Then Fitz.

"Violet, you're like another sister to me. I'm going to miss you. Make sure to come back soon."

"Of course," I say. "I'm not planning on staying long."

I notice that the councillors are watching this with amused faces, probably because my friends are saying this is temporary.

Next to say our goodbyes is Dex.

"Violet, I'm going to miss you. Hopefully you'll be able to come back in the future. Just know that I won't forget you."

I smile. "Aww, I won't forget you either. I'm going to miss you."

Finally, my parents.

"Bye, I guess. Don't get into any more trouble while you're gone. " Dad says.

I roll my eyes. "Yeah, whatever."

"Are you ready to go, Miss Sencen?" Councillor Zarina asks.

"As ready as I'll ever be,"

Councillor Zarina pulls out a pale yellow pathfinder and spins to a random facet. Councillor Kenric and Zarina hold my hand, and Councillor Terik holds Councillor Kenric's hand.

We leap to a random area in the Neutral Territories. It's just a forest, nothing special.

"Goodbye Miss Sencen." The three Councillors wave goodbye.

As soon as they leave, I cry.
