Chapter 3: And it All Comes Burning Down
Hey guys! So Starr's been really busy with testing and she's had writers block, but she wrote the next chapter for you guys! We hope you enjoy, so you read, vote, and comment! Now on to the story!
So, let me introduce myself. Im Violet Sencen, sister to Keefe Sencen. (I know, pity me) I'm a Level Two at Foxfire, best friend to Marella Redek. Friend(Best Friend? Acquaintance? Love Interest? What are we?) to Dex Dizznee. I have ice-blue eyes and blond hair. Anyways, back to the story! (I know I broke the fourth wall. Deal with it.)
I wake up to the sound of Keefe calling my name. I sleepily open my eyes and find that my room is on fire, and Keefe is standing by my doorway, calling my name. Everything in my room is coated in fire. Somehow, my room caught on fire while I was asleep. I try not to panic, but it doesn't really work out. Desperately, I look around looking for a way to put out the fire. I found out that I could turn on my shower, take the nozzle off, and spray my room.
After I put out the fire, I realized that Keefe, Mom, and Dad were watching me the whole time. I sheepishly turn toward them.
"So...um...I don't know what happened. I just woke up like this."
"Really, you didn't try to set the house on fire because you were mad at me?" Mom asks. Why would she even ask that?
"No, there's no way Violet did that on purpose! I came in here, and she was lying in her bed, still asleep. I would have been able to tell if she had got up, which she didn't."
"The only way this could have happened would be if she was a pyrokinetic."
My stomach falls. I realize that may be what happened.
"Um...I may have manifested as a pyrokinetic just now."
The room goes silent, so I try to spark a fire. Of course, it just has to work.
My mom looks horrified. I know she wanted me to manifest as a conjurer, not a pyrokinetic. Dad looks so disappointed. Oh no. What went wrong?
/~\
So now I'm facing a tribunal to see if I'm a 'danger to society'. I'm pretty sure they are going to exile me, but oh well. (It's NOT 'oh well'. I'm freaking out over here! If they exile me, I won't be able to talk with my friends and brother! SOMEONE HELP ME!!)
Keefe- like the awesome brother he is- tries to calm me down. Dex comes over to help prepare me for my tribunal, and so does Marella. Marella helps me pick out an outfit.
I go to the closet to change so no one sees me. After I change into my outfit, I ask Marella what she thinks.
"Wow, you look beautiful Violet," she says, looking stunned.
"Thanks, Marella. Give yourself some credit. You picked out the outfit." I say.
"You wear it better than I thought you would" She says.
"Does that mean you thought it would look bad on me?"
"Let's be honest, you could pull off anything."
When Marella says that, my face flushes so much that I'm pretty sure I look like a cup of lushberry juice. I walk out of the closet, and Keefe and Dex's jaw drops. I mean, do I look that good?
"Wow, I didn't know my sister was so hot." Keefe teases.
I roll my eyes. "You're just jealous that I look better than you."
"Sis, no one looks better than me," he says with a smirk. "I am the Keefe Sencen."
"Whatever you say."
Dex is clearly at a loss for words.
"Wow...I mean... huh," he stutters. I guess he needs help.
"What's wrong?" I ask him.
"Nothing, it's just, you look so beautiful." he blushes hard.
He is so adorable when he blushes, that I think I'm going to explode.
"Thank you!" I say with a smile.
The awkward silence that followed was deafening.
"Hey, Violet," Marella starts. "What's this tribunal for anyway?"
I sigh. "They're trying to determine if I'm a "danger to society,"" I roll my eyes.
"Just because you manifested as a pyrokinetic?" Dex asks.
"Yeah, I don't understand why I would be a danger. I think that Mom and Dad wanted this to happen, to finally get me out of the house." I say.
"Wow, your parents are that bad?" Marella asks, looking stunned.
"Yeah Mommy and Daddy Dearest are not crazy about having kids in their house. It's kinda depressing." Keefe says. He's always like this, using humor to mask the sadness, pain, and anger. That's why he needs me. I help him take his mask down.
But, if I'm exiled, who will be there for him?
Dun Din Dunnnnnnn!
I hope you liked it I'll see you next Chapter!
