" Regina! Use Tackle!" Shauna commanded, she nodded and charged towards the Bubble Frog pokémon, " Geko, use Pound!" Valentina said after the Fennec-like pokémon attack him, he nodded and hopped over to her, attacking her and quickly going back to Val, " Now, use Bubble!" she commanded, "Regina! Ember, now!" the two used their respective moves, because of the type advantage, Regina took a lot of damage, " Bubble, once more!" " Regina! Get out of the way!" Shauna said, but Geko had used the Water-type move already, defeating the other pokémon, " Hey! I wasn't done watching my cute Li'l Regina yet!" The trainer said Geko looked back to his trainer, smiling, " Not too shabby, huh?" he said, Valentina nodded, " We won our first battle fair and square." Shauna picked her pokémon carefully, " Are you okay, Regina?" she asked, the Fox pokémon nodded, she smiled and looked over to Valentina and Geko, " You're amazing, Val! Here! Let me fix up your pokémon!" She took out a potion and was about to use it on Geko, " Uh, maybe you should heal up your Fennekin first, Shauna." Valentina said, " Although it's very kind of you, Regina needs it more than Geko." She nodded, " Got it, Say hi to your mom for me!" she kind of sang out before going back with Calem, carrying the Fennekin on her arms.

" Let's go Geko, our adventure will begin... after we deliver the letter to mum." Valentina said, Geko nodded, they walked through the Route 1 and got to the trainer's home, Geko stopped midway when he spotted the sleeping Rhyhorn, " That's Petra, my mum's Rhyhorn." She explained, " I suggest you not waking her up." Geko nodded and followed her, going inside the house, He looked around, " This is your home? It's very nice." he said, smiling softly, Grace heard the door open and looked over, smiling when she saw it was her daughter, " So! What did you and the neighbor kids end up doing?" she asked, Valentina motioned Geko to jump onto her arms, he did. " I got a pokémon! Geko this is mom, mom, this is Geko." he waved a bit, " Nice to meet you." " Your very own pokémon? Lucky you!" Grace smiled, " How about that? You're a Pokémon Trainer now, too! Congratulations!" "...She can't understand me, right?" " Nope," Val replied.

" Hey, mom, Got a letter for you," she said, taking said item out of her bag, being careful since she's holding Geko. " For me?" " Mhm." she handed the letter to Grace, "...From Sycamore.." she mumbled before opening the letter, while she read the message, Robin flew over, inspecting Geko, Valentina smiled and placed him back down, " Why don't you to chat for a bit?" she said, Geko and Robin nodded and went to the living room. " ...Wow, what a lovely handwriting.." Grace sighed softly, Val looked back to her mother, "Oh, I see! Valentina, We just unpacked and all kinds of exciting things are happening!" she said, smiling, "OK! Let's get you and Froakie ready for your journey! Wait here, I'll be back." She went upstairs, most likely to fetch something, her daughter watched her go; after a moment, she came back, " Here you have, Valentina. I've packed a change of clothes." she said, handing it over to her, " Thanks mom." she said as she placed them in her bag, My, what an unexpected turn of events! It's just like a sudden last burst of speed from a racer in a Rhyhorn race!" Grace exclaimed, " You made friends and met your Pokémon! And now you get to take a lap around Kalos!" Val smiled but sighed internally 'Mom and her memories of the Rhyhorn races...' she thought, "Oh, and don't forget this!" She said, handing her a Town Map, " You know how to use it, right?" "Of course mom, I remember Dad teaching me how to use it." She sighed, taking the town map. " That's my girl!" she said, smiling, " I don't know what this Professor Sycamore wants you to see on your trip... But taking a journey with your Pokémon is a wonderful experience." Val nodded, " Then Geko and I will be on our way, Geko, Let's go!" she said, the Water-type waved goodbye to Robin and hopped over to her, following her outside.

The ground started to tremble, The Rhyhorn had woken up and made its way to be in front of them, " Stay Strong!" it roared, that made Geko stumble backward. " Ha ha ha! What a card!" Grace laughed, standing by the doorway, " I guess Petra just wanted to give you a big send-off for your journey! After all, she has known you since you were born!"  She nodded understandingly, petting the pokémon's head softly, " Good luck, Valentina! As long you have your pokémon by your side,  you'll be fine!" she said, waving goodbye, She returned the gesture as she walked away, soon, going through Route 1 and reaching Aquacorde Town again, heading to Route 2, where Shauna and Calem should be. " And that's how you catch pokémon, Shauna." She heard Calem say, the duo rushed over, going through some tall grass, " Hey, what's going on?" she asked, " Oh, Hi Val!" Shauna greeted, " Calem just taught me how to catch pokémon!" He and Chester walked over, the last one looks like he just got into a fight. " It's pokémon trainers 101," Regina added, scratching the back of her ear. " Here, you'll need these." He said, handing over some pokéballs, "I'll be up ahead, See you there." he said, running towards a forest area that was at the end of the route, "Ok, If I find a cute Poémon, I'll throw lots of Pokéballs at it, and then we'll become friends!" Shauna said, half singing it. " Riiight.." Her pokémon sighed.

" Okay, Geko, Use Pound!" Valentina commanded, He nodded and used said attack on the Bug-type pokémon they just found, the pokémon kept using String Shot to slow him down before the Caterpie could escape, She had thrown a pokéball towards it, catching in it. 

" Caterpie was our first encounter, it could have been worst," Geko said, shrugging a bit. " My name is Lulu." the Caterpie said, " And you encountered me... sleeping... and then proceeded to attack me. " " Oh, yeah, uh... sorry about that." Valentina apologized, " No drama, Just now it's a bit rude to wake someone up like that." Lulu said before going towards the forest, " Anyway, You are a Pokémon trainer, right? then.. we should get going."
