" What is that girl doing up there?" Grace asked to herself, looking over to the stairs that lead to her room, " Don't ask me!" a tiny robin pokémon said, Grace sighed, " Robin, wake her up, will you?" The flying-type pokémon nodded and flew over to the young lady's room, who was fast asleep on her bed, Robin positioned itself to be flying above the bed, "RISE AND SHINE!!" it let out what sounded like a war cry as it tackled the girl, who, in return, screamed while falling off the bed, " WHAT THE-- Robin!!" she said angrily, looking over to the small bird, " WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THAT?!" "It's your mother's orders, don't blame me!" it responded, "She wants you ready, like... right now." the girl groaned a bit, " You go downstairs, I'll be there in a moment," she said, picking herself up. the pokémon nodded and did as told, flying back into the kitchen. When Robin was gone, the girl looked at herself with the mirror on the wall, she stretched a bit before going to her closet to fetch some clothes, it didn't take long for her to dress, she grabbed a pink bag that was a gift of her father and headed downstairs.

" Finally, you're awake." Grace said, looking over, " Yeah.. and thanks to your bird." " MY NAME IS ROBIN AND I'M FLETCHLING." It said, although, to Grace, it sounded like the pokémon was chirping angrily, this made Valentina chuckle a bit, " When will you two get along..?" Grace asked to herself, " Anyway.. the neighbors are looking for you." " The neighbors?" " Correct, They want to see you, so, why don't you go out and greet them?" Valentina nodded, "Sure mom." after saying that, she went outside, where a Ground-Rock type pokémon usually slept. 

Two people were standing there, a guy wearing blue colored clothing and a girl with pink and black clothes. " So you're the girl who moved in a week ago, huh?" the male asked, " Welcome to Vaniville Town, The name's Calem, I live next door." " And I'm Shauna!" the girl said happily, " Great to meet you!" " Oh, I'm Valentina, is.. nice to meet you too," she said, a bit worried that Shauna's rather loud voice wakes up her mother's Rhyhorn. " Guess what! We've come to get you!" "..Get me?" " Yes, the renowned Professor Sycamore has a task for five kids including us." Calem explained, " I'm surprised he knows who you are, after all, you don't have much time living here, right?" " About a week." " Cool! We'll wait for you in the next town! And you know what?!" At this point, Valentina was really worried that this hyperactive girl wakes up the sleeping, and rather dangerous, pokémon. " We're going to get... a Pokémon!! C'mon! Let's go!" and with that, the girl ran off, "... Is she usually that loud?" Valentina asked, looking over to Calem, who sighed heavily, " Yes.. bare with her, will you?" before she could get answers, he had walked away to catch up with Shauna, Valentina sighed a bit before running after them.

Before she knew it, Valentina had arrived at another town, " ... That first route was... That's even considered a route?" she mumbled, " Hey, Valentina!! This way! Over here!" " for the love of mew...!" Valentina sighed and she walked over, she saw her neighbors hanging out with two new people, one was rather big with a small yellow bag and the other one was short with orange hair and a green backpack. " We were just talking about you!" Shauna said, smiling brightly, " C'mon have a seat!" Valentina had no other option than doing as told, sitting next to Calem, "How you were able to talk about me in.. 10 seconds?" "Shauna is a fast speaker." he explained, " Anyway... Tierno, Trevor, this is Valentina." "Wow... Shauna's description was spot on!" Tierno said; Trevor nodded, staying quiet, " Tierno can really tear up the dance floor while Trevor doesn't skip any questions on a test although he's shy." Calem explained, " All right! Nice to meetcha! You know, I think we could be friends quicker if we call each other by nicknames... Can I call you Lady-V?" "Uhh.. no." She said, not liking how that sounded, " What kind of nickname is that? She's a Li'l V for sure!" Shauna exclaimed, " What do you think, Trevor?" "stop..." Valentina muttered. Trevor looked at Shauna shocked " What?! You want me to nickname someone I just met..?! Shauna... You shouldn't put people on the spot like this.." he sighed, " Well... how about something low key? Maybe.. something like V-kins.." Calem noticed how uncomfortable Valentina looked and decided to step in, " You should decide what we call you." he said, She mouthed a ' thank you' before speaking up, " Just call me Val, plain and simple." " Hey! That fits you perfectly!" Shauna said, " I'm sure we're gonna be great friends, so I'll call you that, too!"

" Hey, Tierno! Can we see the Pokémon now? I want to meet my new partner soon!" She said, almost singing it out, " I know, right? It was such a cool feeling when Trevs and I met our pokémon! Hope you feel the same way we did!" He said, taking out a fancy-looking box with three pokéballs, " Uh.. would you mind showing us the pokémon?" Valentina asked, " Sure thing, Val!" He exclaimed, taking the pokéballs and sending the pokémon out, there was a Chespin, a Fennekin, and a Froakie, " Hi strangers!" " Finally, I'm out of that tiny ball." " The waiting was worth it." they said respectively, Valentina smiled a bit, " Aww!!! So cute!! I want this one!" Shauna said, picking up the Fox pokémon, " This will be my trainer? I just hope she knows what she's doing." the Fennekin said, " I will call you...Regina!" She said, smiling brightly, " I guess I'll have Chespin then, I'm Calem, nice to meet you, Chespin." Calem said, petting the pokémon's head, " Oh boy!! I won't disappoint you, I promise!" the Chespin said, " Your name will be Chester, okay? Thanks to you, I can be a real Pokémon Trainer. Thank you!" The pokémon nodded, smiling brightly. 

Valentina was staring at the Water-type pokémon, who was staring her back, " ... I guess we'll fight together." it said, She nodded, " Mhm." she crouched a bit, " You and I will do our best." the Froakie nodded, smiling, " I'll name you... Geko, how does that sound?" Valentina let out a hand "Could be better, but I like it." Geko and her gave each other a handshake, " Name's Valentina, and you are my first pokémon, Geko."

" Wow! We go together great, Regina! The two of us are just way-ay-ay too cute!" Shauna said, hugging her new pokémon, " At least she's full of love." Regina sighed a bit, " Mine is so cool and nice!" Chester said, dancing a little bit, standing next to Calem, "Valentina seems to know how to greet a new partner." Geko said, making her smile, " Hey, what are you smiling at?" Tierno asked, curious, " At something Geko said." " Wait, You can understand them?!" Shauna asked, filled with wonder, the other starter pokémon looked over to her, " She can understand us?!" they said in unison, Geko simply chuckled. " Uh... pardon me... but I have something from the professor as well." Trevor explained, " I have something that will help you understand Pokémon on a much deeper level." " How being able to understand us is not 'deep' enough?" Regina asked as she watched the orange haired boy giving out Pokédexes to the new pokémon trainers. " Um, so you see... The Pokédex I just gave you is a high-tech device that automatically records the pokémon you encounter! The professor wants us to go on a journey with our Pokémon and complete the Pokédex, It's an important mission from him, I'm sure of it!" "Oh lighten up, Trevs! You're way too serious sometimes. " Tierno said, " Um, Val... Please take this with you, too. It's a letter from the professor. He said you should give it to your mom." he handed over the letter, which she gladly accepted it, " Alright! We're done with our errand for the professor. I guess Trevs and I will go look for Pokémon! Let's go, Trevs!" he said, standing up and walking away, Trevor got up from his seat, waved goodbye, and went after him.

  " Val, before you go on an adventure you have to give that letter to your mother, We'll be waiting for you at Route 2." Calem said, She nodded, " I will be quick, Let's go, Geko!" she said, getting off her seat and going back to Route 1, Geko somewhat running alongside her, but before they could get there... " Val, Wait!!" Shauna called out, The duo looked behind them and saw her and Regina standing there, " You're gonna be my opponent in my Pokémon-battling debut!" Geko looked up to his trainer, his usual rectangular eyes changed into an oval-shape, " OK, Li'l Regina! It's our first battle! Let's win it with style!!" Shauna exclaimed as she spun around, Regina took a step forward, " One versus one battle, I got this." she said, breathing out a small fire. Geko hopped in, " You're going down." he said, somewhat smirking, he had an adamant look.
