A King's Gift

When seen flying in migration

their aposematic colouration

presents one with a dazzling display

Then with a majesty so grand

it alit upon my hand

and the elegance just took my breath away

The fact that I was blessed

for the place it chose to rest

has affixed a refreshing sense of place

For if such dainty creature

has such tranquility as a feature

then it's an attitude I surely should embrace

So when continuing its migration

on wings of brilliant transportation

I can smile and wish it well along its flight

knowing being touched by nature is a feeling that's, without doubt, all right
