(Ruby's pov)

I was currently walking through a decent sized city in vacuo, as I had heard rumours of someone going by the name of 'Salamander' hanging around the city. It was either my dad, or someone pretending to be me, as that was one of the nicknames I had gathered through my travels.

I saw a large gathering of people, mostly women, gathering around. I squeezed my way through the crowd, and saw they were gathering around a man with a weird get up. He was claiming he was 'the great salamander', and that he was choosing a few lucky ladies to come with him. One of the several things that I noticed was that his smell was unfamiliar. There was no way that this was Igneel.

"Hey, 'Salamander', can you show us your semblance. you know, the flames" I asked. "ah-I'm sorry, but I-I'm saving my energy" He shackily replied. "also, something else I'm noticing. Salamanders female, right, and also known for her dark red hair and silver eyes, right? all of which you're missing" I pointed out. "W-what" He yelled, clearly shocked about something.

Then, his eyes glanced over my body, seeing my gold trimmed, black coat, bandages covering my pretty much flat chest, white, baggy, shorts, red hood, dark red hair, and silver eyes. His eyes widened, and I smirked. "I see you know who I am. guess the talk about 'Salamander' even reached mistral" I said, as I held my hand up, and a ball of fire started floating above it.

"now I don't really care that you claimed to be me. but the fact that you tried to trick people to do your bidding using it, and making me come up here to try and find someone, well, THAT'S what I'm pissed about" I explained. I did a throwing motion, and the floating fire ball flew through the air, which hit the man, causing a small explosion.

He got up, and I burst into a blur of red, and lunged at the guy. I returned to normal. and punched the man square in the jaw, knocking him out.

*about one month later

I was outside of a pretty well known bar in the shadier half of Vale. This bar was well known due to it's owner, a man known as Junior. He is said to know almost everything on just about everyone, so many people came looking for info. I walked up to the doors, and the bouncers stepped aside to let me in, albeit out of fear, as Juniors last bouncers were still in the hospital from my last visit.

Inside, the place was suprisingly empty. only two people really stood out. one being Junior, the other being a tall, well endowed, golden blonde, who seemed very familiar, although I couldn't put my finger on it. I carefully walked up, and sat next to the blonde. despite my smaller than average height, I leaned over the counter and pulled Junior into a choke hold. "You said that He was over in vacuo, yet all I found was a faker. Do you think this is funny. My dad ain't gonna find himself, you know" I asked in an extremely cold voice. "n-no, Ruby. I heard a rumour, and I told you what I heard" Junior choked out. "good. at least we're on the same page" I said, letting go of his neck, "have at 'em, blondie".

"So I heard you know about everyone" She asked, "Know anything about her". She pulled out a picture of a women with black hair and blood red eyes. "I don't know anything about her" Junior stated, rather honestly for someone known for knowing everyone. "Is her name Raven" I asked. "Yeah, Raven Brawnwen, she's my mother. Do you know where she Is" Blondie asked, rather hopefully. "I've run into her a few times. She runs a bandit camp, although she moves it around roughly every six months. I last saw her sometime last year, and she was over near mistral. I also know she graduated from beacon academy from a relatively famous team known as team STRQ, consisting of Summer Rose, Tai Xiao Long, and Qrow Branwen" I explained.

"Well I'm Yang Xiao Long, perhaps we could exchange info at later dates" The newly named Yang said. My eyes widened, as I realized why she seemed so familiar. I chuckled. "Did I say something wrong" she asked. "It's nice to finally meet you, sis. I'm Ruby Rose Dragneel. Daughter of Summer Rose and Tai Xiao Long" I awnsered. "I have a sister" She asked in disbelief. "well, I'm pretty sure we're half siblings, but that's besides the point" I stated.

*one hour later

"Hey dad, I want you to meet someone" Yang yelled as we walked into a decent sized cottage. although I had to get rid of my guts on the boat ride over to patch. "Coming" A mans voice, which I assumed was Tai's. He walked out of the kitchen. "so who do you-" He stopped midsentence when he looked at me. "Summer" He whispered, although I heard him clearly.

"Close. Then again you haven't seen me since I was four. I'm Ruby Rose Dragneel" I introduced myself. He quickly ran foward, and wrapped me in a deep embrace. "where have you been" he asked. "well, I was with my adoptive father till I was four before he dissapeared, and I had been searching for him ever since. To be honest, I never really thought to search for you guys. I mean, I did, but you guys weren't at our old house" I said.

"Your dad must have been really important If you're still searching for him" Tai said. "He was" I said. "So how did you two even find eachother" He asked. "We met up at Junior's, Beat him up for not having the info we were looking for, and here we are" Yang explained.

*one month later

"Ruby Rose Dragneel... you have... silver eyes" Ozpin creeped. "and" I asked. "Nothing. It's just that they are rather rare. anyways, who taught you to fight like this" Ozpin said, gesturing to the recording of me fighting Roman Torchwick. "IH WAFH FAUGH VY MA FAFER" I exclaimed with cookies in my mouth. man I had forgotten how good these taste. I swallowed the mushy chocolaty goodness before repeating. "Sorry, that was my dad, Igneel" I said.

"you're father taught you how to use a flame based semblance with this much diversity" He asked. "yeah, well, as much as he could teach me in six years" I said. "What happened to him" Ozpin asked. "He just vanished without a trace. He left everything. I couldn't even follow his scent" I said. Ozpin just gave me an odd look. "Oh, I have some of the best senses a non-faunus could have" I explained.

"Do you know who I am" Ozpin asked. "you're proffessor Ozpin, headmaster of beacon" I said. "Would you like to come to my school" Ozpin asked. "Absolutely" I said. "then I'll be seeing you on initiation day" Ozpin said.

After Ruby left, I decided to ask Glynda something. "Glynda, What Is Ruby's semblance listed as" I asked. "Her mother listed It as super-speed" Glynda asked. "I believe she Is one of the maidens, then" I stated. "I do not believe so. While she was most definitely using magic, It did not seem like she was a maiden" Glynda responded. "Is it possible..." I thought out loud. "what is it sir" Glynda asked. "Nothing. I was just thinking out loud" I said.
