"Sandstar!" Hawkstripe meows, pushing his way through a tunnel of thorns into a clearing. Curious eyes burn into Forest's pelt, and she shook her pelt to get rid of the feeling.
A white tom with pale ginger patches, who Forest assumed to be Sandstar, padded out of a hollowed-out fallen log. He looked old, but not as old as the some of the cats who sat outside of one of the bramble dens. He looked them up and down with a wise, yellow gaze.
"Hawkstripe, who are these cats?" He meowed.
"We found them over by the abandoned Twolegplace. They say they're loners, but we don't know for sure."
Sandstar nodded slowly. "They're very young, I doubt they're rogues."
"Can you help us?" Snow blurted. "Our two younger siblings, Spruce and Thorn, well our mother died in the fire and they don't have any source of milk. They will die soon if not cared for,"
"Well why didn't you mention this first?!" Sandstar glared at the deputy.
"Er, I just thought—" Hawkstripe muttered.
The sandy-and-white tom huffed. Silencing the other tom by raising his tail. "Daisyfrost, can you take them?"
A cream tabby she-cat with a crooked tail stepped forward, three kits by her side. One was a white tom-kit with cream patches, the second was a white tabby she, and the last was a cream-furred tabby tom.
"Of course, Sandstar." She meowed, picking Thorn up by the scruff. A white tom came over and picked up Spruce for her. The two cats dipped their heads to the leader and padded into a bramble nest with her siblings.
Forest prickled with uncertainty. She had watched her siblings be ushered into a den by random cats she'd never before met or heard of. What if they didn't come back from there? What if this was a trap?
"As for you," meowed Sandstar, breaking her train of thought, "who are you?"
"I'm Forest." She meowed, a confident air to her voice, "This is my sister, Snow. We are loners who were raised by our mother, Thrush. She died in the fire—"
"Wait," the ThunderClan leader stopped her, "her name was Thrush?"
"Yes, why?" Forest asked suspiciously.
"And what did she look like?"
"Well, she had amber tabby fur and blue eyes. Why?"
Sandstar's eyes widened and so did the eyes of many other spectating cats. A silence hung in the air, making Forest uncomfortable. "Did you know her?" She asked slowly.
"Your mother was Thrushfeather, a ThunderClan warrior."
A/N: Yes! Another chapter out! I just want to thank you all for the support you've given me on this book. I took a long break from updating this, and I'm back on an updating spree! (Cheers)
Anywho, sorry for the short chapter. I wanted to end it in a cliffhanger >:)
So yep, you'll have to wait! Unless you're reading this in the future when I've already updated.
So, what do you think of the characters so far? Are you surprised that Thrush was part of ThunderClan? Of course you are (I think)!
Lastly, please vote, comment and share! It would make my day uwu
