Chapter 8 Satan's Secretary

Aura's narration

Me and Blaze journeyed back to Mobius to find answers.

I had to find Tanya and Suzuki too, in case something happened to them.

What I didn't know was that my path was about to get complicated.

Normal POV

Mazuri Savanna

Aura and Blaze arrive back through a portal and look at the scene around them.

Aura tries to use his aura sense, but fails to find them.

Aura looks at Blaze. "I cannot find Suzuki or Tanya anywhere."

Blaze looks ahead. "I will ask that man over there if he's seen them pass by."

Aura nods. "Good plan. He's a merchant that has probably traveled by when they ran after the Fallen."

Blaze runs off after the man while Aura stayed behind to make sure no one went through the portal as it was closing.

A deep voice filled with slight venom and pity spoke. "So this is the what the legacy of the Fuji Clan has reduced themselves to? Pathetic."

Aura turns around to see a person who had him completely on edge.

A man with gray hair tied behind his head, crimson robes of a martial arts master, yellow teeth and purple void like eyes.

Aura immediately turns into his special form and summoned blue energy into his palms.

The man chuckles. "You seem a little on edge. What could put you this way? It would not happen to be, would it?"

Aura uses telepathy. 'I know who you are....Lord Rai!'

The man smirks. "You catch on quick, boy."

Aura threatens to blow him just with the attack ready in his palms. 'I will end this, once and for all!'

Aura fires a sphere at Lord Rai, but he counters it with a purple sphere that's similar to it.

Aura was shocked at this.

How did he do that?

Lord Rai makes a purple glow in his palms. "Amazing is it not? Dark auras contain so much power within them. You obviously never knew how much you threw away by being separated from your dark side."

Aura talks back. 'It doesn't matter what tricks you have, I will destroy you! You are the reason so many people suffer!'

Lord Rai crosses his arms. "Am I really?"

Aura glares at him. 'You are! What makes you think otherwise?'

Lord Rai answers. "Did you ever ask Ki about your parents?"

Aura looks confused. 'You know about my father?'

Lord Rai nods. "Yes.....he was the student who replaced me after I finished training under Ki."

Aura backs off, eyes widened. 'What?!'

Lord Rai grins. "And he left the Fuji Clan once he saw the same truth I saw."

Aura calms his fists. 'What truth? The Fuji Clan have nothing condemnable about them.'

Lord Rai answers. "They enslave those under them."

Aura glares at him. 'Liar!'

Lord Rai looks out at the sky. "If only you were right in your answer."

He continues to tell Aura his proof. "Back in my days in the valley, I discovered how the code of honor they have works. If you want to be the true member of the clan, you have to sacrifice something important: individuality."

Lord Rai starts to circle around Aura. "Your life and views are no longer valuable once you go down this path long enough. You are merely disposable."

Lord Rai adds to this with a true story. "Your father, Orion, left because he fell in love with your mother, Lyra. But Ki disapproved of Orion's choice, saying that he is supposed to stay to be a successor to the master title of the clan. When your father put his foot down, Ki claimed he had dishonored the valley with his actions. His name was removed from all writings as he was declared a disgrace to all."

Aura backs up in fear at what was thrown before him.

The clan could've protected his father and mother, but they abandoned them.

Ki probably knew about the killer coming, but refused to warn his father about him.

Lord Rai adds another fact. "They also take many riches from the people who work hard for them. A lady named Yuno had a store once in the Field Village, but the taxes took every cent she made. When she could not pay back anymore, she was banished from the valley and deemed a selfish person."

Aura could not believe what he was hearing.

His loyalty to the clan was starting to be questioned.

Aura wanted to fight for freedom and peace for those in the valley, not for wealth and honor.

Lord Rai smirks at Aura. "When the time comes, you will make your own right decision."

Lord Rai disappears after he finishes, almost like the shadows absorbed him.

Blaze returns after questioning the merchant.

She looks at Aura with concern. "Aura, are you alright?"

Aura nods. "I am fine. What did you learn?"

Blaze points in a certain direction. "They were last spotted going east. The merchant guessed Chun nan would be their destination."

Aura looks in the direction before looking back at her. "Good. You find them and rescue them, while I check to see if the valley is still alright."

Blaze nods. "Be careful Aura, these Fallen you described to me do not seem willing to give you any chances."

Normal POV

Kaiju Monastery

Aura rushed up the stairs, rage and uncertainty coursing through him.

He wanted answers, and he wanted them now!

Most of those who lived there didn't know what Aura was really doing, but Ki could feel it a mile away.

Aura stomped over and knocked a nearby table over and past Ki.

Aura glares at him. "You took away my memories!"

The ninjas pointed several katanas at Aura, ready to strike him down.

Ki told them. "All of you, stand down."

One of ninja interjects. "But mast-"

Ki interrupts. "Now!"

They all bow and leave, with Aura and Ki alone now.

Ki sighed. "I know my actions were wrong, but I did because you were building depression. A broken heart leads to that, and depression leads to suffering and disregard for life, which ends in tossing away said life for death. If I did not hide your memories of your parent's death and your best friend disappearing, you would kill yourself."

Aura's glare still remains. "That still doesn't give you the right to take away what made me who I am!"

Ki shook his head. "No. Your past does not define you. It is what you choose to do that makes you."

Aura crosses his arms. "I know about your code. The fact that individuality does not matter to you."

Ki nods. "That is partially true. But the reason you sacrifice what you are is because of selflessness. If you have to give up your dreams to let someone live, you must do it. One individual cannot be more important than another."

Aura's next words felt foamed with venom. "You were the reason my parents died! You disgraced my father and left him to rot in the wild!"

Ki sighed, feeling regret he had not felt since the end of his last battle with Lord Rai. "I know....that was my biggest mistake I have ever made."

Ki stood up and looked out the window. "I was broken and desperate after the last fight I had. Rai was not only a prized student....but the next thing I had to raising a child. That battle had claimed hundreds of lives. I needed your father to lead in my stead while I spent the next few years mourning."

Ki sighed. "When Orion refused in favor of a simple life, I let my devastation turn into rage. I tried to manipulate your father into crawling back to me and begging for forgiveness. But your father was strong and simply walked out, not caring about his dignity."

Ki looks at Aura. "If I could go back in time and fix one thing, I would go back to slap myself in the face for trying to take away what was rightfully your father's."

Aura seemed to calm a little. "What about how you tax those people and banish them?"

Ki closed his eyes, knowing what Aura was talking about.

Ki responds to the question. "Juno overpriced everything she was selling. We could not banish her then because she was not a threat yet."

Aura raised an eyebrow, now wondering what could've sent her away.

Ki answers plainly. "When we found she hadn't payed her taxes, we went to question her. But we caught her..........stealing money from a rival merchant."

Aura's eyes widened, now feeling foolish for believing it.

Ki finishes. "She was corrupted by greed. The high prices and her stealing was proof that she was out to take everything from us. We had to banish her....or else everyone would lose their money to her."

Aura was having a tough time answering. "I....I didn't know..."

Ki looks at Aura. "Who told you these things?"

Aura was about to tell him it was Lord Rai, but held it back.

Lord Rai did tell the truth about what happened with Aura's father.

A part of Aura was still holding a grudge against Ki.

The other grudge was against Lord Rai, but that was now mild with the truth about his past being revealed.

Ki has lied to him and manipulated him since he was a kid.

When Lord Rai is destroyed, Aura planned on getting revenge for his father, even if he had to fight the whole clan to do it.

Aura shook his head. "I learned it on my own when my memories came back."

Ki nods. "Very well. You need to meet up with your teammates to find the factory again."

Before Aura could do any of that, a messenger ran in to deliver some news.

The messenger calls out. "Ki! Tanya and Suzuki have returned with a purple cat helping them!"

Normal POV (a few hours earlier)

Fallen Factory in Chun nan

Lord Rai talks with a silhouetted figure. "Do you understand the importance of your mission? If you fail, the consequences will be dire."

The silhouette responds. "Of course master. It will be done perfectly."

Lord Rai walks down to a hallway filled with cells.

He goes to sit down in one.....that was next to Suzuki's.

He mutters to where Suzuki can hear. "Are you from the valley? I.... I used to be from there....before I was kidnapped..."

Suzuki asks back. "What does it matter to you?"

Rai answers. "I over heard the guards talking. They said....that they have made contact with the United Federation. They plan to make a deal with them."

Suzuki was suddenly worried. "What?! How?! They agreed not to let the outside world know about us."

Rai weakly answers. "The River Village must have pressured Ki and the Field Village to agree to the choice. Now the world will know what the Forbidden Valley has to offer."

Suzuki's face was filled with rage, his eyes turning completely white and his veins turning black.

He yells at the top of his lungs as he destroys everything inside his cell.
