The young Buizel finally was able to take a break from his hard work. From all the running away from the hordes of Honchrows, from fighting a Purugly, and whatever Pokémon that tried to stop him from taking just taking berries from trees. He couldn't blame them. The drought dried up the berry supply around the forest, and so they were bound to get feisty and protective over their berries.

He had to. He had no choice. But luckily today's trials were over. His sachet was ready to rip open anyway, he couldn't pack any more.

And so he rested his back against a tree, using its shade as salvation from the scorching heat. He brushed off the dirt off of his fur and licked the wounds on his arm the Purugly inflicted on him. "For such wide bodies, they swipe fast," he thought out loud. He slouched, relaxing all of his muscles while heaving a sigh. "I hope I got enough sitrus berries or dad will flip."

He picked up his sachet and dug through his bounty. The refreshing aroma of the berries sweet juices encouraged him to dive in to take a bite, but he couldn't touch a single one. Each berry counted. "I have three Pechas, two Orans, and thirteen—" He trailed off once he saw a shifting black silhouette.

He thought it was the tree branches' shadows playing tricks on his eyes, but he realized who it was once he saw wings. "Shit!" He sealed his sachet tight before lighting up his tail for a potential sound wave. "Back off already, Asher!" He looked up from above.

Right then and there, a pair of talons dove for him. The Buizel somersaulted away and watched as his opponent stuck his feet in the dirt.

Asher turned to him, his beady ruby eyes staring deep into his. Out of all the Honchrow that followed the Buizel, he was the only one filled with enough determination and vengeance to go after him again. His battle scars along his beak proved it. "How pathetic do you have to be to steal my brood's berries, boy? Extra it seems."

"I'm sorry! He said he wanted Sitrus berries. You guys are the only ones that have them." The Buizel explained.

"Sorry doesn't cut for my losses, boy." Asher lifted up towards the sky. He channeled an orb of dark energy for a shadow ball.

    "Markus, duck!"

Telling by that squeaky voice, the Buizel disabled his glowing tail and flattened his body to the ground. Before Asher could fire his shadow ball, a string of blue electricity struck him. He gawked in pain before plunging into the dirt with a satisfying thunk. Whenever he tried to move, his wings wound only twitch in place.

During Asher's vulnerable state, a Pachirisu scampered over to Markus's side. "I hope you're alright, buddy."

"Martha, I'm fine. You came just right on time." The Buizel couldn't ask for a better person to save him at that moment.

"Let's go before the paralysis wears off."

"Right behind you." The Buizel went over to the tree and picked up the sachet. He tossed it over his shoulder.

"Your mother, Rachel...She should have never had you." Asher muttered between grunts.

"Don't you speak of her name!" Markus hissed at him.

Satisfied in striking a nerve in the youngster, he cracked a smile in his rigid beak. "If you didn't exist, none of this chaos would have happened."

"You, you, you bastard!" The Buizel choked on his hate-filled words. 'How dare he? He doesn't know anything. Anything! I was the greatest gift she ever had!' He screamed in his mind. Slowly, his tail grew bright again. "Say shit one more time and I'll finish you off!"

"Then come restore your mother's honor." The Honchrow chuckled, feeling the paralysis ebbing away. He attempted to flap his wings, but his motions came out slow.

Realizing this, Martha rushed over and tugged on his tail to get Markus to stop, yet he wouldn't budge. The Buizel stared down at Asher as he barred his canines. He dug his webbed paws into the dirt. He was ready to shred him into pieces, watching feathers fly from his body as he beat him senseless.

"Please stop! Let's just leave! He's just saying that to piss you off. Please..."

The sincerity in her voice made him snap into his senses. He swallowed down any anger he had panging in his heart and turned around. "He's not worth the time anyway." He started running off with Martha following by his side.

He heard the Honchrow throw more insults at him, but he paid no heed to them. He kept on focusing on keeping the sachet on his back as he ran on all fours. Once the two finally dove into the thicket of forest greenery, they were out of Asher's sights.

Few! I hope that was a good first chapter for you guys to dive in! Whatcha think so far? What questions that ya got? I'm gonna be making chapters at least up to 1k words so I can upload them more consistently while also working and doing fanfiction requests on DeviantArt. I know it may seem small, but it's a small price to pay for salvation.
