Why did you have to be in the woods so late, you dumbass? Don't make excuses for the fact that you're too stupid to have known what was out there. You knew there were dangers. You KNEW. So stop making excuses for your worthless self and go and hunt. Or are you too dumb for that too?

My thoughts float around my head like broken logs in a river. I get off of my comfortable bed and walk over to my window at the same time as always, three A.M. I am hungriest at this time and I try to spare as many animals as possible because it's my fault they have to die anyway.

I quickly jump off of my window sill and flinch as I hit the hard ground. I must go to catch some poor animal that I have doomed for eternity. I then remember my hurt ankle from a fight with some other rogues, like me, and I fall to the ground in agony. "Agh," I yelp before I hit the cruel ground that always drags me back down to it, right when I get up. I get back up and let the grass flatten beneath my feet, I'd forgotten the feel of ground on bare feet.

I finally set out to go catch some food because at this point the neighbors might hear my stomach growling. I then change into wolf form and keep my eyes peeled and my nose open for any signs of prey. I search everywhere and I can't find even a scent of a small animal within the past twenty-four hours.

I start to just wander in circles, too taken by the feel of the crunchy ground, occasionally getting pain in my feet from the freshly fallen pine needles. It's a blissful world out here, I smell every flower, every tree, it's absolutely heavenly.

I spread my arms out and let the smells flow over me. This beautiful aroma made me feel as if maybe someday I could find a way out. The feeling was... fascinating. I wanted more. I wanted to feel it all the time.

It took me while I was off guard.

I hear a low crack from behind. Prey, maybe? "My god.." I say aloud, accidentally. I hear a frightening growl from behind.
"God won't help you this time," it says. I let out a quick, deep gasp.
