05 | Pain

Next morning

8:15 a.m.

Jimin was laying on a comfy bed with lavender scent around him. The room was filled with lavender scent because the girl who lived there was very in love with lavender. He could feel a very sharp pain on his stomach as he slowly opened his eyes and looked at his surroundings.

He winched then quickly looked at his stomach that was well wrapped with bandage. "Aghh," he closed his eyes in pain before looking around. He was aware that he was in a girl's room based on its decoration. The room was 70% pink and the rest was white and purple. Having no energy to even sit up, he decided to lay on the bed for a little longer before he heard that someone was talking outside of the room.

On the outside of the room, Heiji was struggling to block Taehyung from entering her room because there was a guy laying on her bed. She stood in front of him then shook her head. "No, sorry. But you can't get into my room. Please." She told him.

He found it weird because Heiji never blocked him from getting into her room before. "But why? I left my charger in your room." He said and stepped aside so that he could pull the doorknob but Heiji pushed him away.

"I said no!" She yelled unintentionally as Taehyung looked at her with wide eyes.

He blinked, "What's wrong with you? Why can't I get into your room now?" He questioned her doings. "Are you hiding something from me?" He asked and folded his arms.

Heiji tried to come up with a good excuse. "Actually, I left my underwear on the bed. That's why you can't get in," she embarrassed herself just to avoid him from entering her room. She felt terrible for saying that.

Then, Taehyung stood there, face palmed. Although they're best friends, of course he didn't know how to respond to that because he is a guy. He sighed and acted normal. "Okay then, I'll just borrow my friend's charger at work. Bye," he said and walked out from her apartment. She sighed in relief and made sure that Taehyung was fully gone before walking into her room.

She slowly opened the door and her eyes quickly landed on the guy who was still laying on her bed with his stomach wrapped bandage. How'd he end up being in her apartment, you may ask? Well, she brought him home because she didn't have the urge to send him to the hospital after the way he begged her. She believed that he had a reason of why he didn't want to go to the hospital. Besides, she still remember that he once helped her when she was drunk. So she think that it was the perfect opportunity to pay him back.

Quietly, she closed the door behind her and made her way towards him. She looked at his face and the moment when she tried to treat his wound flashed back. He was stabbed with a knife yesterday and it was quiet deep. She wondered what happened to him but at the same time, she was amazed by how smart he handled the situation.

A normal person might just tried to pull out the knife when they got stabbed. But this guy didn't because he probably knew that by doing that, it'd just make the situation worst. He'll lost more blood and it'll lead to his own death. She sat at the corner of the bed, right beside him and took a look of his wound again.

She sighed while looking at him. He looked perfect, she could say that he was the most beautiful man she had ever met. Even with his eyes closed, he still managed to look like an angel. No caps. Heaving a sigh, she mumbled something. "I lied to my best friend just for you." She said and suddenly, he opened his eyes. Her eyes grew wide afterwards as she thought that he was still sleeping.

She quickly backed off then stood by the bed to watch him. His cold gaze was on her small figure, trying to see her next action but she didn't do anything. "Why were you looking at me while I was sleeping?" He asked.

"Excuse me?" She put her right hand on her waist as she looked at him disbelief after being asked such a rude question from him. "Did you just ask me that? Are you aware that you're in my house?" She emphasised.

Unexpectedly, he rolled his eyes at her and looked up at the ceiling. "So does it mean you can stare at me like a psycho? Just because I'm in your house?" He looked back at her with an annoying look. Heiji felt like she wanted to give this guy a big punch on his face.

She inhaled deeply, "It's okay, you're sick anyways. I'll let you win this time." She told him and walked out from her room.

"I never loses anyways," he said.

11:25 p.m.

Heiji just finished cooking a meal to eat. She cooked chicken soup and some kimchi to eat with hot rice. The smell of the soup was strong that even the neighbours could smell it. She put down the spoon then wondered if the guy was hungry. "Of course he's hungry, right? He hasn't eaten anything since last night. That's so obvious." She talked to herself before putting some food for him into a plate.

Then, she went into her room to check on him. He was still laying there with his eyes close. She stepped in. "Are you hungry?" She asked.

He stayed quiet and she heaved a sigh because she wasn't sure whether he was actually sleeping or just ignoring her. She folded her arms. "I have some food though, wanna eat?" She offered but still no response from him. Gladly, she was used to work with complicated patients before who refused to eat. So she just left the food tray on the desk right beside him. "I'll leave the food here, you can eat it while it's still hot. Don't starve yourself because you've lost a lot of blood. You should be grateful that you're still alive." She told him and walked out from the room.

12:02 p.m.

She went back into her room to check on him just to see him who was struggling to take the tray on the desk. His stomach had a serious injury so that was the main reason why it was so difficult for him to reach the tray. Obviously, he couldn't stay ego and acted like he wasn't hungry because it'd just make his condition worse. So he decided to eat but couldn't take the tray.

When he saw that she was already in the room, looking at him, he sighed in annoyance then laid his back against the bed boarder. "Since you're already here, can you take the tray for me?" This time, he sounded more polite than the previous time.

Heiji smirked silently after he finally asked for her help and lower his ego. "Sure," she said then went to him and put the tray on his lap. "Can you seat? Does your stomach still hurt?" She asked him.

He breathed, trying to figure out whether he could sit or not. "Put the tray away for a sec." He said and Heiji did as he asked. Slowly, his hand reached the side of the bed and tried to sit up. The pain felt so sharp and it was aching so much. But Jimin didn't like to let the pain takes over him. He forced himself till he got to sit on the bed properly.

Then, she put the tray on his lap back. She took a pillow then placed it behind him so that he could sit comfortably. He began to eat the meal she served before starting to speak up. "Why'd you bring me to your home?" He asked before leading a spoon full of rice into his mouth. His empty tummy was blessed by a delicious warm meal.

While watching him eating the meal she cooked, she stayed quiet for awhile before responding, "Don't you remember? You begged me to not send you to the hospital. I'm convinced to believe that you've some personal reasons so I decided to just treat you at home since your wounds seem that it could still be treated." She answered.

He just sat there eating while listening to her. "Don't you think that it's dangerous to have a guy in your house?"

She didn't expect him to ask that kind of question but she somehow had already prepared an answer for that. "No. Because you're literally injured and what can you do? Besides if you want to do anything bad to me, you would just do it when I was drunk that day." She stated with her eyes maintained on him.

He didn't get it at first so he took a few moment to process her words. "Are you that drunk girl on the street? The drunk nurse?" He asked while trying to remember her face.

She chuckled before standing up. "Sorry for your jacket, I hope it doesn't smell as bad as I thought." Then she left the room with him being confused.

Park Jimin

I stared out the window, looking at the birds that were flying freely in the sky, making me to envy them. I wished I could be as free as a bird.

I sighed then looked away to prevent myself from getting to deep into the thoughts. The thing that I didn't like to do is getting lost in my own thoughts because someone once told me to just focus on the reality. The reality that I was living now is so much more important than anything.

Looking around the room, I heaved a deep sigh. Almost died yesterday. I didn't know how I would end up if she didn't save me. I practically owed her for saving my life. Means I couldn't be rude towards her like I usually do to other people. I could say that she was a good nurse because she managed to save me even without the proper medication tools.

Gently, I moved the clothes that was covering my stomach and looked at my wound. It still hurt. So much. I winched while closing my eyes tight as the pain felt so bad as if my skin was ripping itself away. I cursed under my breath, remembering what happened last night.

"I'm gonna make him pay for this," I muttered.
